Three stars solely because of quality original content. Would have more if I could watch on my TV but options are very limited, which is extremely disappointing. I can't even use the screen share option on my phone because it just projects a black screen with audio. Not sure how developers could make such a massive mistake with the money that was invested in this. Will likely not stick with this app beyond the 14 day trial because of this reason.

  • Good but needs some fixes for iPad May 2, 2020

    By Laremont L.
First off, I just want to say that Quibi has a lot of great content like The Shape of Pasta, Flipped, and The Most Dangerous Game and I would definitely recommend this service. I know that this app was designed for viewing on mobile phones, but I feel that there is a sizable amount of people, like me, that also watch Quibi on iPad that would appreciate if some minor issues were fixed with the app. The first issue is that when you open the app and browse it is in a vertical position regardless of the way you’re holding your device and it stays this way until you start watching an episode of a show and manually switch the angle to a horizontal position. The second issue is that the app doesn’t seem to be compatible with iPad accessories like the folio keyboard with makes it more difficult to search and type. Overall, Quibi is an excellent service that I would definitely recommend, but the app just needs some minor changes to make viewing its amazing content much more convenient and enjoyable.

You find a show too watch it has 4 episodes that are 7 minutes a piece, your done watching within the hour at least 2 shows then the app just sits there and you wait for tomorrow for another 7-14 minutes of stuff too watch, then play the waiting game for another episode the next day I understand the app just came out and you guys (gals) are trying sum new but 7-14 minutes of something too watch a day just isn’t worth having the app the least you could do too make the app more worth having is putting out 2 episodes of a show to watch a day or something idk or make the episodes longer I just can’t see myself or people I know watching 6-7 minutes of a show a day and staying interested in the show and you have some great shows just can’t get into watching them if there’s only a couple minutes of it too watch daily , other then the extra short episodes and 24hour wait time for the next episode you have a great app hear just give the people more to watch to keep them interested.

  • I Don’t Get It... Apr 9, 2020

    By brandonxanders
I’m not sure I get why this app even exists. I’m sure it will probably get traction because of how many A List celebrities there are, but why charge $4.99 and still show ads. How about make this app free and show ads. The content, being that it’s under 10 minutes, seems gimmicky as well as the portrait to landscape. I’m not sure what value I get out of being able to actively turn my phone during a show I’m passively watching on my phone, and that I can ONLY watch on my phone. Note to the founders: People don’t prefer to watch video content on their phone, they do it because it’s convenient for them when they are out and about. People prefer to binge watch video content, passively, and preferably on a 4K TV or ANY device I choose(laptop, tablet, desktop, Apple TV, etc...). It’s like Quibi wants to give you the least amount of content, and least flexibility of how you consume the content, and on top of that show you ads. Then, expects you to pay for that service monthly...I don’t get it.

Whatever else is on this app, they scored big with Reno 911. The short form sketch format of the show remains true to the original while fitting perfectly into Quibi’s premise. The fact that most of the original cast has made a return is incredible. Finally, it’s 2020. This is the show we need, now more than ever. Your gonna see bits centered around some pretty poignant topics like policing in the presence of heavily armed religious militias, what “sanctuary status” really means and, my favorite, 21st century hate speech talk radio! Tom Lennon and co. don’t seem to have missed a beat during their time off and considering the space they have to operate in their second season, this could be the most important show on here. So Quibeing slow about it and gimme a S2 already! Like what happened to the kittens and the grape slushees?!?

Amazing content. But it's like going to a movie theater, and being forced to take mandatory breaks every 10 minutes. Most episodes are 7-10 minutes, with 10-14 episodes, so in short: about an hour and a half to two hours, but diced up in 10 minutes, which is just enough time to get interested in the show then told to come back tomorrow. Great content. Just not meant for binge watching. Can "bingewatching" be used when describing watching a single movie?

There are many issues with this app that could be fixed, but maybe not so easily. For starts, it does not support binge watching. If they had launched with more episodes, they would probably have a lot more users, but right now many people are not using the app. And it’s not because the content isn’t good or because their advertising missed the mark, it’s because nothing on this platform make people want to download the app and see what it’s about. The revamp of Punk’d with Chance the Rapper attempts to get the attention of Gen Z and other young people, but they failed to realize none of those people even know what Punk’d is, a don’t care when they can get actually funny, not staged content on apps like Tik Tok. If Quibi wants to succeed they need to release they’re best possible show in entirety to give people something to talk about. All of the shows are incomplete and fine but they won’t finish for another 90 days because episodes are released in 5 minute batches. Normal shows release about 30-60 minutes of episodes per week, but Quibi makes users wait at a horrible time- their launch. They need to get people talking!

The app is mostly free of bugs when used to watch on a mobile device. Casting to my Shield did not work. As a platform this is terrible. I'm on the trial, but if this is what I can expect from paid content, it's godawful. The best way to describe it is they interrupt your usually scheduled advertisements with bit of content, and they make sure you see an ad every single time. Stopping the ad and attempting to replay the video results in the same ad or another ad being played. At least a refresh on YouTube usually gets rid of ads when you're not in the mood to watch them. This app is goddamn militant with them. Keep in mind you are paying when the trial ends to see ads before you can even see the content you paid to see. If this were free, to some extent that could be forgiven and expected. I don't mind the occasional ad with Tubi or Crackle, but when I have to pay to watch ads at this amount and frequency. This app and platform needs to be blacklisted until they get their act together. Also, they need to fix casting. It's still the middle of a COVID epidemic, and I don't want to watch content on my phone when I have a perfectly good 60 inch television at home.

Hugely deceptive sign up experience, it makes you put in an email, password, year of birth, and gender before casually informing you that it's $4.99 with ads. So you've already given them all your information and now they can spam your email address even if you decide not to pay for their service. That's horribly deceptive, it should be up front about the cost before creating an account.

I found it creepy that when I got to the free 90 day trial page, the app seemed to know all the credit cards that I had during this millenium. Also, the help page promised that there was a way to get a free year subscription via my T-Mobile account, but when I tried to access that, it looked to me like I was authorizing them to just bill me through my T-Mobile account. I inadvertently pushed the button on the registration page. How do I unsubscribe?

Awesome app. No playback issues. Content variety is impressive. I like that they post all of the episodes at one time so you can watch as many as you want. I also like that each episode is 10 minutes or less, which allows you to watch a quick episode during breaks at work. Quibi is off to a great start by filling a gap between netflix and cable tv.

I hate rating stuff. It takes time out of my day that I just don’t like it to while I think up a response to something. However. This app is freaking great. I get really tired of really long shows all the time. I don’t want to watch them or I get bored or lose focus like half way through an episode. So this is freaking fantastic for me. On my lunch break or my 15 min break I can very easily catch up on something as well instead of wondering what to do with that annoyingly short amount of time that doesn’t lend me to watching even some of my favorite you tubers. So I don’t care what the other annoying people have to say. The people that don’t get what this app was intended for. But I love it. Adore it. Was skeptical but man have I seen the light. Can’t wait to see what else this app will come out with.

I love how the app accommodates both vertical and horizontal (mobile) views. Ingenious! It has great content. The Kevin Hart series is the reason I tried it. 2 Thumbs up! I'm sure there's more to see, but I uninstalled it because it created another reason to be in my phone not to mention the time I'm already spending in front of my TV and computer.

At first I thought this was a joke; I'm getting old and jaded; but you have some of the best content I have seen in years. TV and movies are to PC and controlled (watered down) for my taste anymore. Thank you and all the Artist that have come together to make this; Quibi; happen. I recommend this to anyone who is tired of the same old network drivel!!

If you are debating whether you should get this app or not GET IT! The 1 rated reviews are probably just bugs that every app has. For the first day Quibi is doing a good job! I love pretty much all the shows and how they are short but jam packed so they just feel filling after you watch it. I recommend signing up for the 90 day free trial and see how it goes from there. I think this app will be more useful when the disease goes away and we go back to our regular schedules and become more busy. The reason I gave this review a 4 star is because there is no TV Support! Like Seriously? The app looks great, is easy to use, and just works well on phone but please add it to the tv! It’s great to watch it on a bigger screen as that’s what people use tv for nowadays and EVERYBODY HAS TV! I do feel that they will eventually ad TV support as it is heavily requested and will finally make the app complete.

I did learn my font were enlarged. Soon as I changed it I was able to sign up. They have good shows on there and I like you can watch then thru chromecast. I just don't like having to click on the next episode when watching it on TV. Each episode will automatically start when you watch it on your phone. I really like this app but for me I need longer sections of a show than 10 min. That's just me though. Enjoy watching.

  • Pretty good start Apr 24, 2020

The free trial is really what got me into this, as I like the idea and concept of having high quality content outside of social media that’s delivered in quickly consumable chunks. The app experience overall is pretty good. I haven’t found it to be buggy, the UI makes sense and has features that you’d expect compared to other content services. However, two BIG things missing - #1 a dedicated iPad app and #2 the ability to AirPlay or mirror to an Apple TV. On the content side, the mix is pretty decent right now, but I have to say, I can’t see myself paying $5/month for this when the trial ends. There just isn’t enough content to justify that when social media platforms have free content, and even services like Disney+ are pretty close in price to this and have FAR more content.

The concept is great, but unfortunately timing was bad. People have to remember this app was not to compete against Hulu, Netflix, etc. It was really for your commute to & from work/school and breaks. That was the purpose of 7 - 10 minutes episodes. However, COVID-19 came and and messed up the concept. Unfortunately, I have decided to unsubscibe because I am basically home all day and can watch full episodes on TV. Sorry, Quibi. When things get better I will see about my subscription again.

  • Good content but not intuitive. Apr 24, 2020

    By rikoalas
Firstly, I love this content. I love the idea of short bites for short breaks. I do not like, however, not being able to control what I’m watching. I have the ability to follow specific shows but when I play them the app queues up other shows I’m not following. I want control of curating my own queue. I want the ability to turn auto play off and I want the ability to cast to my tv. I would also like to have the ability to easily reset my watch history if I want to re-watch a program instead of auto play jumping to the last episode. Lastly, I want the ability to hide or remove or archive programs that I’m not interested in watching. If I cannot remove them it will eventually become a cesspool of content that I do not want to watch. That will drive me away quickly. These are very basic needs in a viewing platform. I can’t believe you rushed this out without considering more options.

This app has really great shows! The down fall is that all the episodes are less then 10 min. I could definitely look past that because the shows are so good but it's super annoying that I have to keep putting on the next show every couple of minutes. If they're going to have such short shows, they should at least have a setting were the next episode will play automatically.

Doesn't even come close to Prime, Hulu or Netflix. Don't waste your time or your money. Great platform, trash content. The few decent shows they have, have episodes that are 10 minutes long and 1-2 minutes are dedicated to adds. I see what you did there Quibi. There's millions of emotionally charged millennials out there for you dont worry. You'll be fine.

  • Cancel until AirPlay! Apr 10, 2020

    By Scott Cochran
Quibi is a cool service with solid content but their “mobile only” mantra is a complete joke in 2020. If Netflix thought the world anything, the goal for any content company should be to get it on as many platforms as humanly possible. I was okay they didn’t launch with an Apple TV or Web Browser option but I assumed I could AirPlay when I wanted a bigger screen. I thought wrong. Quibi went out of their way to not allow consumers to airplay or chrome cast the mobile app just so they can prove their mobile strategy. This is a huge mistake, especially during Covid-19 when we are all stuck at home. Me and my wife are not going to huddle around our phone to watch these new shows together. I will not be subscribing after the 90 day trial unless they bring the app to more platforms and enable AirPly/Chromecast. Amazing they spent millions on building content and then shoot themselves in the foot by not allowing people to choose where they watch it. I will update the review and subscribe if they smarten up.

Im new to this app it has some work to be done for me. So the first few day of watching I didnt realize you hv to download the show to watch without an ad between every scene which is only about 6-8 mins long. It's more like watching tv then a movie. The two shows I watched were great but for me it comes with to many breaks and is inconvenient if you just want to watch a movie. I will continue to Netflix and chill for now.. 5 stars for Die Hart and Dangerous Game check them out great movies!!!!!

This app feels like it was designed by boomers for their idea of what a young person was. Some of the content is good but most of it is just the worst. They also have no way of letting you customize what you see. If you start a show they just assume you’re the biggest fan even if you only watched one episode and never went back to it. Let me give shows Thumbs up or Down so I don’t have to see shows I didn’t like anymore. Let me dismiss new shows you recommend because nobody should be forced to look at Liza Koshy if they don’t want to. Also, all of the scripted shows are just plain terrible. The documentaries are the best thing on here but there aren’t enough to justify it over something like Curiosity stream. The news shows are so filtered it’s impossible to gain real perspective on anything. Absolutely no way I’m renewing my free trial. Also also, convinced every one of the good reviews for this app are fake. No way anyone could love something this pointless so much.
