  • Subjective game review Jan 30, 2021

I will mention four things about this game. First of is the target player for this game. If you like waifu anime and enjoy collecting your favorite characters of Princess Connect, this is a game for you. I actually wanted a gatcha game that has diverse character selection including male and monster units. So I reduced a star for review. Secondly I want to talk about the summon rate. It is low. Yes, you will get a bunch jewel in the beginning which is like many other games. However, later on you will find yourself not able to do any pull when you favorite character comes out. Basically only P2W will be able to collect their waifu. Third thing I want to talk about is the game mechanic. This is a casual game so don’t expect anything crazy complicated. Yes, there are some depth regarding position, skill timing, buff and so on but that is it. Not much to do due to limited stamina and how crazy expensive to refill it. More over, the rng that might or might not go against you for your wanted gear drop. You might spend 200 stamina to just get one piece gear. Last thing I want to talk about is how this game just got released globally but has so little events going on.... seriously, push more events to grab players attention. Make the game rewarding or else player like me won’t stay to play a game that is purely waifu collector. Plus, the animation and graphic is only fine. I do like character with 2.5D or 3D design. Thank you.

So I have played Priconne for a long time. It’s a fun game with great animations. I was excited to see it finally got an English version and to be fair I probably wouldn’t invest much time in it unless I got extremely lucky with my first few gacha pulls since I have most of my favorites on the Japanese version. However, I decided to just stay away from the game all together because crunchyroll decided to take some weird cringeworthy liberties with the translation. Some examples are changing “onii-chan” to “Mr. Nice Guy”. I get it you don’t want your western cancel culture seeing a loli call a stranger big brother but you couldn’t think of a better less weird alternative or perhaps just leave it off completely? Another is adding “bruh” and “amirite” to another characters lines. I get she is considered dumb but wow that’s still sort silly. Edit: Due to developer feedback and what seems like they’re listening I will change my rating. I will send my feedback directly with future translation grievances directly. I absolutely love Priconne and truly want it to succeed. Plus watching Ina play while drawing kokkoro made me want to give it another shot.

Overall, my favorite gacha for quite some time. At first I was disappointed with the lack of control the player gets because battles are mostly auto. But dont get that fooled because this game is brimming with strategy, just happening before the battle. Team compositions feels like puzzle solving against the CB bosses and VH boss. Manualing UBs can net you much more damage than autoing. Of course, there are problems with the game but overall after 6 months been very happy with the game.
  • It’s a “mostly” generous gotcha game but has some flaws... Apr 2, 2021

It’s well build and all. Summoning gems are not very difficult to get so that’s a big plus especially for a gotcha game. Sadly the game has no dub but that’s alright. The biggest issue is how luck based ranking up is. You spend stamina to go on quests to get pieces of gear. Each gear has 3 or 4 levels it can drop from so you go there and farm but you probably won’t get what you need. You can WASTE ENTIRE DAYS WORTH OF STAMINA and not get any of the gear you needed. The loot dropped is padded with rank 1 gear that you will just keep pulling those instead of the other gear you needed. If it were the golden gear then yes, that should be hard to get but it’s not. It’s the run of the mill items that require so much materials that the game just won’t drop. The items displayed on levels should have higher drop rates instead of flooding you with rank 1 items that you literally get from beating the first level. I typed all that just to say, a heads up to any new players or people considering playing, this game will stall out real quick so decide if it’s worth your time.

I rarely give reviews about a game but, I'm about 3 weeks in playing the game now. Very rewarding, Easy to stock up Jewels and generous free rolls, Looking forward for future updates! My only regret is that i should have played this way back January, This is the game i would definitely play for years alongside Genshin.

I hate this game. I hate the addictive effects at graphics the characters and the ui. I have everything about this game but can’t stop playing it. I hate that the developers keep adding new levels and characters. Characters which I can’t get because I keep getting old characters so I stopped trying although. I hate all the various options, elaborate comics and daily missions. I hate it so much. Why can’t I stop playing when I have to spend diamonds to continue leveling up? I hate having to work so hard to level up and pvp just to lose to those who are at the top whom gets free diamonds just for being there. I hate getting awards... I just hate it all.

The game is good and the dialogues are funny, but i shouldn't have stamina problem in the first few day of playing. I understand having to refresh stamina once your close to end game, but not when you are still in the beginning.

It’s obvious that a lot of work went into this game. All of the scenes are fully voice acted (though you can turn it off to save data and space), and there are tons of them—the main story, 8 scenes for each character, and more for each guild. The gameplay itself is good but nothing groundbreaking. Make and power up your teams, go through fights, and hit the occasional wall where you have no choice but to grind for gear/levels until you can beat it. If you haven’t been playing from day 1 you have basically no chance of getting in the higher ranks for PVP arenas to get those characters quickly, which can be a turnoff for new players. Certain characters are notably more powerful than others with similar “power” ranks, though you don’t need to spend money to get them if you’re willing to grind certain stages or save your arena coins for them. Overall, good game—especially if you’re looking for story—but not without flaws

The game paces itself too slowly in my opinion. After a few months of playing since beta, it doesn't distinguish itself from other gacha games. It's main attraction is the number of girls and their VA(which is really amazing). The story and gameplay is average for me, and the gacha itself is not to easy and not to hard to get new characters. To be fair, I played FGO and my main interest is good storytelling. PriConReDive is a good game, but it tells its story through anime instead of a novel.

pvp is atrocious. missing too much hit in battle and princess arena. the dodge featute sucks cause u will rely much on your luck. miss and miss and miss, it is frustrating. also, you need to defeat all 5 opponents in pvp, sucks because ppl just using stall strategy... which is sucks. grinding everyday without any real rewards, because pvp just sucks so hard.
  • Great game but heavy money machine Apr 5, 2021

I love the game very much including many of cute characters. I love the new story events every once awhile. It is a great game for people who are looking for short stories, Japanese anime voice dialogue and characters fighting monsters. However, the newer characters are very difficult to obtain and upgrade, especially gocha supply. The probability for rate up seems lower than old characters, and easily getting old repeats when the player have not completed collect all in game characters. On top of that the only option to upgrade newer characters are through repeatedly character’s supply points, and maybe random drop from dungeon. The bar is set too high for unlucky players if they are unable to obtain through the probability rate described above, so you might end up spending hundreds of dollars and not getting the new rate up characters which is not really worth it for a 2D game. In addition for in game free gems, you can only obtain them from new story event if you already exhausted all other options (storyline, first complete reward and pvp ranking). I’d love to rewatch the show again from time to time..

Started out pretty fun when it first came out, just returned to it from an extended break. Pull rates are abysmal. Resources aren't the most plentiful, so for f2p users, pulls on units become extremely scarce quick. Best advice to those starting off, is to reroll until you pull Jun, or suffer later game.
  • Overly slow, and terrible PvP Apr 8, 2021

    By Shinkiro811
Game is way too slow, there’s only 2 banners a month, and 1 Clan Battle + 1 Event a month. This leaves you with large periods of time with nothing new going on. PvP in this game is totally frustrating at the top ranks, with battles feeling like literal coin flips. Attacks and ultimates missing can really make it so you can win/lose with the exact 2 teams fighting. Top rank meta is pretty much filled with stall comps. Better pray that your taunts line up, or you some how manage to kill their Tamaki first or get ready to lose (even if you do many times more dmg, and kill more characters then their team, time up is an instant loss). Princess Arena feels even worse with all the same cancer problems as normal arena, but now with the added perk that you can’t see your opponent’s teams at top ranks. Better pray that you picked the right teams into their’s, or you already wasted one of your 5 daily attempts to figure out their teams. Oh, and even now there are still hackers floating about, so you might just lose ranks to teams you beat. Character designs are cute, but it’s not enough to make up for the pacing. Hopefully Crunchyroll speeds up content.

Game was decent until their automated bot decided to falsely ban. Tried reaching out thinking it would be a quick fix but no response and have been waiting since May. Looked through the subreddit and discord regarding this and it turns out they Crunchyroll support is known for taking a long time to respond. Happend to numerous people

Game is good, slow and boring.just repeat same thing everyday. No different event. Summons are hard to come by.even after saving for 2months you cant do pity in this game.CB rewards are given way too late. Hope some rewarding events will be provided.

This game is so fun and amazing to play, the story in the actual game and the characters look so good, the fighting is interactive and fun, I overall enjoy playing, but when it comes to character progression and overall progression. 100$ would launch me miles ahead if I would just put money into this game. I saved 12,000 gems for 3 months for the summer event and I didn’t pull not one new summer event character wnd now I probably hav to wait till next summer. I would rather pay for this game, then have micro transactions that allow me to progress in this game. I don’t see myself playing this game much longer due to the fact that I don’t wanna spend money to enjoy myself on this game, and it’s not like 10$ of you really wanna progress I’m this game and get the things you want you HAVE to spend Money. Please make this game more f2p friendly. Crunchy roll you guys make millions already why need more?
  • Bad translation and bad censoring Jan 25, 2021

    By Bkviperl
Crunchyroll is at it again, taking great Japanese games and ruining them with poor translation and forced in censoring. Learn Japanese, pay for a VPN, and you too can enjoy playing the good versions of these games and watching the original version of these anime, when they are released, and only download the bastardized American versions from Crunchyroll in order to see how bad they continue to do and make fun of them. You might hope the Sony buyout would help them improve, but remember they own Funimation and it’s got the same problems there so don’t hold your breath. It only takes 5 years to get a decent level of Japanese by studying with the right effort and methods, and you can be native level in 10 years. If you are in your 20s, you could be native fluent by your 30s and have the rest of your life to enjoy Japanese content, visit or live in Japan, make Japanese friends. Start today!

The production value is very high and it's fun to play, but the sheer amount of underage fanservice... And you can't just say that it's just a byproduct of the art style, because it just outright tells you how young all these characters it teases about you being in a romantic relationship are. Kokkoro is in elementary school, and there's a swimsuit version of her!
  • Cheaters in arena CR does nothing Feb 27, 2021

    By Refer: v1rusSrk
Dolphin/small whale here. Currently rank 1 in my battle arena bracket and top 5 in princess arena bracket. Game is good except arena is full of cheaters. For those who haven’t played the game, cheaters can use tools to auto win in arena no matter the power discrepancy and knock you down the bracket. Send support tickets and screenshots to Crunchyroll who claims they’re working on it but don’t actually do anything. If you want to play the game for fun go for it, but if you’re looking to spend take money elsewhere because there’s no competitive drive for the newer players as the new brackets will have cheaters. Wish I didn’t start the game 3 weeks after launch! The older brackets where majority whales reside have less cheating and more competition! It’s funny how much money I’ve saved and taken into other games because of the lack of competitiveness due to cheating. Oh well.

This game is great and I wish for its continued development all the characters are made well and the story is great it almost feels like watching an anime while being the main character Now it does have some problems but they are very minor and can easily be fixed however I do believe the starting characters you get are kinda weak compared to the ones you can get from gacha and well I would like for them to be as equally strong but everything is done very nicely Overall this game is really fun and I want to continue being a fan of the princess connect and princess re:connect series

I downloaded it about some hours ago and I can’t stop playing! The graphics is superb and fights are intriguing. I recommend this if you are a fan of the show or just like RPG’s. The mechanics are simple yet complex since there is a roster of characters and many ways to upgrade. The only con I can really find about this game is the time to download all the resource packs such as future game dialogue and voice scenes. Other than that I highly recommend , just make sure to manage the game because you can loose track of time lol!

Another is adding “bruh” and “amirite” to another characters lines. I get she is considered dumb but wow that’s still sort silly. Edit: Due to developer feedback and what seems like they’re listening I will change my rating. I will send my feedback directly with future translation grievances directly. What, I really am. Though when I play this game,I can easily relate this game to 6 other one, kinda sad at the same time I been waiting so long for this game! I was so patient I didn’t do the pre-register, I just waited for the full version to come out and guess what, it. Was. Worth. It. I don’t really like the storyline, characters, very well though, I love the game itself, but the rates for 3 stars, is so low, did a nice amount of 10 Gachas and nothing, just nothing. Not a lot of characters now, but in the future I was be looking for more cute girls! I love the art and animated scenes, I love the game overall,I don’t really like the fact it seems like another “pay-to-win-game” because it really dose like BanG, the paid thing, I downland this game hoping not to deal with that, besides that wonderful game I will say that, worth the wait? Yes! Thank you for the time y’all put in this game, really appreciate, thank you. Edit: Merci! Thank you for listening Game developers! It really made it seemed like someone was listening, The rates for 3 stars is very low, I believe that’s were the money making part comes in, it’s tends to make users buy Premium to do the start Gacha, If y’all like the Premium thing, then make a redo Gacha! Cost Premium but you can redo it until you get the girl you like 3 star guaranteed, I will leave more game suggestions to the actual thing you recommend, thanks for listening!

There are a few good things about this game, how it gives you skip tickets to quickly farm material, how free to play the game is, the series itself is amazing. Already got to around chapter five. However with crunchyroll being the one to translate it there will be some weird localizations that go against the plot or censorship since the US has a thing against fanservice. It definitely gives thought to mind of how the player feels but now my guild house is just done with buying all the possible decorations, and I’m stuck at chapter 5. I’m in college so I don’t have all the time in the world for games. The good thing though is that this can be linked to your Facebook account and deleted to free up space on any device, while the account and characters still exist. More games need this feature.
  • A fun auto game Jan 23, 2021

    By MOO2 lover
This game basically is an auto battle game where your job is to grind out equipment and skills, and then throw your team into battles. Positions of characters are fixed (front; middle, back) and within each row characters also have priority on where they will stand (tanks typically take the center). The only downside is that you will not catch up to the players who started the closed global soft launch, even if you choose to spend money. They are set and their Arena teams will be untouchable by you, so you will have to content yourself by knowing you will not be top 1000 or so in the Arena. Also, the Gacha is not as friendly as the JP release, where they have a safety net of sparking (spend 300 rolls, if you don’t get the featured unit, you can select one of them). This should be implemented in the global release. Many characters are farmable. My advice is join a clan and just have fun. Push as far as you can go, and when you are stuck, go back and farm equipment, refine, etc, then push some more. The only way to improve is for suggested levels or power for stages, because if you lose, your stamina is not refunded.

The music is insanely good and the voice acting and characters are great! However, the combat isn't very interactive and focuses more on team building and strategizing if you really wanna focus on it. In the beginning it seems like the story is all over the place, and the game just tells you that you met 40 girls in the span of a month and you're kinda left to connect a couple of pieces together.q
  • Subjective game review Jan 30, 2021

    By Akairon
Thank you.
  • It’s a “mostly” generous gotcha game but has some flaws... Apr 2, 2021

    By MitchManEX

The game is good and the dialogues are funny, but i shouldn't have stamina problem in the first few day of playing. I understand having to refresh stamina once your close to end game, but not when you are still in the beginning.

Not 5 star. Overall is good but combat system is so suck. Please make it at least fast paced like epic seven game. Also please make auto advance to next level. Then it will be perfect
  • Why does Voice Data get deleted after restarting app? Jan 22, 2021

    By Arina Rosenthal
Hi I typically like to have a hassle free experience. So I’m the type of user that likes to download everything upfront including the voice data on character stories. To my disappointment if I want to watch a character story I get sent to an option of voice and no voice. But if I select voice to download and watch that event it gets deleted after I restart the app. Please allow the option to 100% download the voice and keep it there. Idk it should be deleted right after. It’s annoying to redownload if I want to rewatch it again. I don’t like interruptions.

Kokkoro is in elementary school, and there's a swimsuit version of her!

pvp is atrocious. missing too much hit in battle and princess arena. the dodge featute sucks cause u will rely much on your luck. miss and miss and miss, it is frustrating. also, you need to defeat all 5 opponents in pvp, sucks because ppl just using stall strategy... which is sucks. grinding everyday without any real rewards, because pvp just sucks so hard.

Oh well.
  • Disappointed at the release. Jan 20, 2021

    By ???200
I am currently playing in the Chinese version, which I have been playing since the release. Comparing the release of the Chinese version to the current release of the English version, I have to say I am quite disappointed. The Chinese version gives much more resources in the beginning (Gacha alone four times as much) and the translation is much more “cleaner” compared to the English version. But then, I may have to much expectation for Crunchyroll. The English version, as it is now, is quite unfriendly to f2p players compared to the Japanese and Chinese version. So unless Crunchyroll decides to be generous(which is very unlikely considering the past games they’ve licensed), be prepared to spend a few hundred bucks for gacha or constantly restart to get the best initial draws(Makoto and a few other important chara).
