The best prices anywhere you go. I travel for my job. The cancel option has always worked for my favor. You can reach customer care anytime day or night and it will me a real person after the A.I. . Never a problem with refunds. Very professional and if I could change something, it would be addressing the deposits required for each motel your inquiring to stay the night.

It's very easy to search for and reserve hotels at the best prices possible, and we have been using this site with great success for 14 years now and as a small business owner, I might use it all week long. I do have to have my executive assisting staff call Priceline on rare occasion when we need to change a reservation or something was reserved in error; it does take the better part of a half hour or 45 minutes to get them to cancel. I wish they would speed up the process.

It seems, in my experience, that 99 times out of 100, Priceline has a lower rate on hotels &/or car rentals than any other vendor, or the merchant, themselves. And, several times, I've called the hotel front desk directly & offered to go through them if they would give the same price - & they balk. I guess, they're calling my bluff, thinking that the price I tell them that Priceline is offering is something that I'm just making up... Then, I show up! And, now, I even get lower "VIP" rates!

I have been using Priceline for about 18 years. When I changed my email address I lost about 16 years of my history. Once you learn how to use the app and the difference between naming your own price and taking an express deal it is very easy to use. When your name your own price or using express deal you need to zoom in on the map to the area where you want to stay. I was a little unhappy with my history went away because some hotels would reveal their name in the express deal offering if I had stayed there before. In some cities a hotel will charge a resort fee when they really not a resort. Most of the time this is revealed before you make the final purchase in the express deal option. If you are naming your own price or selecting an express deal I consider the addition of a resort fee to be dishonest and deceptive business practice. Since the introduction of the express deal option I find it harder and harder to get a further discount by naming my own price. I work in the travel industry so I most often use priceline for hotels.

I’ve used Priceline for at least 10+ years. Mostly for hotel stays and some flights. I have to admit if you don’t read the fine print and understand that your reservation is FINAL and there are NO CHANGES or NO REFUNDS the experience can be frustrating. If you’re the type of person who needs the security of being able to change your reservation, DON’T USE PRICELINE, but if you do your do diligence and research where you are going you can find some awesome deals through Priceline! Just the other day I found a great deal on a hotel with wonderful river views! It was located right on the Rouge River in the state of Oregon, USA. I Googled a couple of different hotels in the area that had popped up on Priceline. I also looked up their exact location on Google maps. In addition to that I read their descriptions and reviews on Priceline AND the hotels own website. Being I was booking the room for a friend’s anniversary gift, I did end up calling the hotel and booking directly through them. They even honored the Priceline deal! If it hadn’t been for Priceline, I would not have ever known about the beautiful RIVERSIDE INN in Grants Pass, Oregon!

The first time that I used Priceline, I showed up to the hotel to discover that they did not have my room available. The computer system that they use doesn’t work well with that of the hotels so I was informed. Thankfully, the AMAZING people at the hotel (Red Lion Seaside) hooked me up with a better room and gave me a huge discount for the inconvenience of Priceline’s folly. They also informed me that they could give me a better deal than Priceline almost every time. So I took their advice the next time I took a trip. I checked the price that Priceline offered, and then checked with the hotel itself. Sure enough, going through the hotel itself I saved around $75, sometimes more. So I have started using Priceline just to find the hotels, then I book through the hotels themselves. Works great! More often than not, you can get a better deal through the hotels themselves. The only exception I have found is their price buster deals. But I always double check through the hotel before buying. Credit cards give the least hassle. Debit cards have funds held for awhile before getting squared away so just be aware of that. Also, any cancellations, Priceline takes their sweet time returning your money. But please, don’t take my word for it. Go check out a “deal” with Priceline and then check the price through the hotel and see what you find. I’d say you’ll thank me, but how in the world would you get ahold of me to do that?! ;)

When you purchase something online or by phone you have a trust that the purchase for good and services will be honored by the company taking your money. And when a company dishonors that trust by taking your money but then not providing the services or goods promised, most people would consider it fraud. Priceline took payment for airline tickets and then refused to refund that payment when the flights were cancelled. Seems like an easy response by a respectable company to send the money back, especially since it was no fault of the customer that the service wasn’t provided, but Priceline has chosen to keep the money. They claim it’s because of the Coronavirus and a lack of employees to provide the refund. There are literally tens of millions of newly unemployed people that could be accomplishing the job Priceline refuses to complete. You can use this app and pray things go well and you are provided the service you’ve paid for, but know that when things don’t go right, and sometimes they don’t, Priceline will not respect you and honor the trust you’ve placed in them by sending them your money. You’ll be gambling your money on a company with no honor. Priceline has since asked to “revisit my case for review,” standard response to make it look like it cares. I HAVE CALLED DOZENS OF TIMES TO REVISIT MY CASE! The only thing Priceline should be reviewing, is how it treats customers. Refund the money you owe.

If I could leave no stars I would. Our hotel we booked wasn't even taking reservations. So drive 10 hours and get told no rooms because they've been under construction for the last 3 weeks. Had to drive another hour and half before finally getting rooms. Priceline said they would escalate it. No one called the hotel for 4 days to verify my story and finally processed my refund. Then only offered a 5% discount. Terrible all around sight and customer service. Will never use them again.

When ever I have called there costumer service, they just blame blame blame, and do nothing to fix the situation or make it better, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CLIENTS. It’s not my fault I used a debit card it’s not my banks fault for having to refund MY MONEY it’s Priceline’s fault for having a deal that is outdated and still taking my money..I’ve given priceline so many chances but this is the last straw and stay away from Priceline. They have lost a loyal customer.

  • Pretty good but room for improvement Apr 1, 2019

I have used this app a bit and mostly everything is great. The only problem I have had though was that when you filter for hotels that are pet friendly you shouldn’t get to the hotel and have to beg for them to let you stay. I took my dog on a road trip and the first stop was after 15 hours of driving. We were exhausted and ready to go to bed, but when we got there we had to beg them to let us stay which thankfully they made an exception since I was able to show them where the listing showed them as pet friendly. That was stressful, but I was willing to let it go and call it a fluke until it happened again the next evening on the next hotel stop. Fortunately the lady at the front desk also took pity on us and allowed us to stay, but we have to sneak her in and out to use the bathroom and leave the hotel so the other people who work here won’t know she’s here so again very stressful. Please make sure that if you are assigning a hotel to someone looking for pet friendly that it actually is pet friendly

  • Easy Interface - Great Prices - Great Customer Service Mar 11, 2018

    By IllinoisCountryBoy
I can’t say enough good about PriceLine and the App. I have used the service numerous times, so my review is based on all of these experiences. I alway check other sources for deals and I always find the best deals on PriceLine. I have used it for business and personal vacations. But what made me actually write this review rather then just rate the app, was my recent experience with their customer service. In a rush to get a reservation done while sick and mildly medicated, I accidentally made the reservation for the wrong dates. I needed it for a week later. Once I realized my mistake, I called PriceLine directly from the app. The service rep (wish I could remember his name) was professional and friendly. He contacted the hotel for me and confirmed that they could cancel the reservation for me (it was a special deal that was supposed to be non-refundable). I received the cancellation notice seconds after getting off the phone. PriceLine went the extra mile for me, and that is why I am writing this review and gave them 5 stars. Thanks again PriceLine.

  • Great app could use a little tweak. Aug 11, 2018

    By What names aren't taken?
I book the same hotel off the app every week. Every week I type in the location I want. Every time it shows hotels downtown Dallas when they are 3 times the price and require a $20 Uber ride. I ask for specifics in the filter ‘distance from location’ and the first time I booked, a hotel downtown popped up I thought great and booked it. Only to find out it was not close and did not provide an airport shuttle as promised. I know first world problems, but I now know I have to scroll thru to find the hotel I want. I wish when I put in the neighborhood ‘area’ it would put that area first. And the filter does not really work because you say distance closest to and it puts you 10-15 miles away I guess those hotels must pay a premium to pop up on the top. Just a warning if you are not familiar with the area check the map, the filter does not work.

  • They can be great if they want to be. Jun 15, 2019

Priceline has for the most part treated me pretty good. They have had issues for when you need to call customer service to deal with a problem that you’re having or By accidentally double booked for triple booking to get a refund can be pretty hard. They can give you a real hard time about it. They usually make you call the hotel that you double booked and ask them if they could cancel the reservation for you because Priceline won’t. What I wish Priceline would or could add would be for us to be able to use our rewards numbers for the different hotels and car rental and air fare programs offered. If they were to do that I would not have any reason to use anyone else at that point and Priceline would be the only app I would have. Thank you More then 500 rooms booked

  • Express deals almost always awful Mar 20, 2019

    By Hajjmama
The app works great and I have used it a lot. Always useful to find hotels near me wherever I am. I can get past minute lodging unless it is very late at night. It would be nice to improve the ability to find something after midnight. Sometimes when you are on the road, you need that. I need to give myself a huge reminder that the express deals are almost always super crappy. The hotels are almost always a step down from what is advertised. I have had to cancel a booking in more than one occasion because the express deal hotel was run down or felt unsafe. So note to self: pay more, know what you are getting yourself into. In sum: the app works great but the express deal features tend not to deliver a quality experience.

I am a loyal customer to Priceline I’m a platinum member and prices for the hotel I have been staying at have been decent but every couple weeks it goes way up and my boyfriend who is not a platinum member but a new member to Priceline gets on his app and he has better prices than I do!! Like what the heck!! I’m suppped to be getting the best prices and discounts it makes absolutely no sense that I am getting prices that are higher and it also doesn’t make sense that every couple weeks the price for the hotel goes way up like 25$+ up from what I should be paying especially because I am a platinum member!! What’s the point of gold or platinum or whatever if there is absolutely no difference and sometimes the other lower tiers get better pricing that should not be happening!! They should be treating their platinum loyal customers way better!! It’s just disrespectful like a spit in your face really! Please address this issue because that is not cool!

  • Could use improvement Jan 18, 2021

    By lucifuhrer
Priceline is awesome when it comes to discounts on traveling, no doubt about it. There are a couple things I believe would make the search better. First, including the deposit/incidental charges hotels require at check in and what type of payment is accepted (cash/credit/debit). Most reservations are non refundable and more times than I care to say I’ve had to cancel a reservation because upon arrival I’ve discovered one of the two issues mentioned is an issue. Including this info in the search results is important and would save so much hassle. The other improvement I would suggest Is to include some sort of rewards for a discounted or free stay. Something of incentive to use Priceline instead of another platform that offers better perks.

Caveat emptor. If you make any little mistake, or miss any item that pops up during your booking process, do not expect to be able to resolve the issue after the fact with support. My experience, I bid $130 for a hotel for my upcoming trip. Got the screen saying that I should up my bid, so I upped to $140 and resubmitted. Another page popped up asking for my initials. I thought the initials were to acknowledge my new bid, I entered them and resent. I was confirmed for a hotel stay of $212+. Went through support. I know taxes and fees are extra, but 50% higher than my bid seems excessive. I was told that the initials page was advising me of an extra Extra hotel fee. I had missed it. Support was completely unhelpful and I’m stuck with it. I think Priceline acted in bad faith on this transaction. I don’t need parking, internet, or use of the pool, or anything else this fee includes. Priceline support should have offered a partial refund and given me the chance to choose a cheaper option. I don’t even need a full refund, if they would have worked in good faith I would have still given them a booking. Please don’t ask me to reach out via social media. You blew your chance. Review stands.

  • Don’t stand behind their service. Jun 29, 2020

    By AmberR89
I have used Priceline for years and all over the world. I use to be pretty happy with their service and trusted their company and ratings. I recently rented a 3 star hotel in Alabama. The hotel was rundown, the customer service was terrible and the shower in my room didn’t even work. I tried to tell someone at the hotel about the shower but there was no one at the desk. I waited 15 mins. There was only a sign that said they were gone. This is was at 10 am and their check time is 11 am. I called the hotel and Priceline about the situation seeking a refund, since a shower is a basic necessity at a 3 star hotel. The hotel lied and acted like there was no sign, even though the sign was a hard sign with a base, which means they use it all the time. Then they lied and said the shower wasn’t broken. It was a simple shower easy to figure out. It just didn’t work. Then Priceline said if the hotel wouldn’t refund me they wouldn’t. Even though my card is charged by Priceline not the hotel. Basically they are saying we will do nothing to protect our customers or stand by our service. I was saddened that after years of being a loyal customer with no complaints that they could do nothing for me. I don’t know that I can trust Priceline anymore.

This site makes mistakes and lists "good deals" but fails initially to let you know about hotel fees which after they are added at the hotel, make for a lousy deal. also if the system or you make a mistake there is no live or virtual customer service. I held for a virtual customer service rep for two hours, just to have the automated system just hang up....lol go figure.

I love using Priceline. My complaint is with their app: Problem 1: the car rental-NOW-separates options:cars by location. You have to scroll down through all the prices to see each locations LOWEST price, EXTRA WORK. Before it sorted it by ALL LOWEST to ALL highest. Problem 2: they list peoples homes from Air BnB and VRBO. I purposely go to Priceline to NOT see peoples homes. Now I have to shovel through homes to find a hotel. Makes me not want to use Priceline, anyone else offer this service???

  • Horrible Customer Service Jun 29, 2018

    By 🤡🎃
I’ve gotten a great hotel on this app, but every other hotel I’ve gotten has sucked. Don’t do the express deals if you’re going to use the app at all, they’re never what they say they are. Even the guest scores are unreliable because somehow it shows they rated it well when the review they’ve given is something along the lines of “horrible customer service” “my car was broken into” “bed bugs”. When I tried to contact Priceline about a problem with my card, they insisted that the hotel would accept a card with any name on it for incidentals. The card I booked the room with had been stolen and they were saying that I wouldn’t have to show them that card, or even a card with my name on it, just any card, even after telling them that I have seen many reviews in which people were turned away for just accidentally leaving out their middle initial for the reservation, they just repeated that any card would be fine. I then asked if I could be refunded the money I bought the hotel room with so I could put it onto another card I could show the hotel, they copy and pasted the hotels refund and cancellation policy and ended the chat.
