  • Great but I can’t understand any of the dialogue May 2, 2019

    By Walnugget
I love this game and I really want to give it 5 stars, but the English translation completely unintelligible. If the puzzles weren’t so intuitive, there would be no way I could actually play this game because these were the initial instructions: “the basic concept of the game is to draw a hidden picture as watching the number on the left and top of the quadrangle on which the picture appears” I eventually figured it out (the graphics were helpful) but if someone could get around to fixing that, that would be awesome. Otherwise a beautiful game that I love playing

I've always been intrigued by nonogram puzzles, but couldn't actually finish one. These have plenty of variety: I am doing "basic" with grids over 10x10, and there is a harder pack. You get 4 lives /game, in case of mistakes, genuine or otherwise. Can save mid-game and go back. Actually getting better at them, and enjoying them.

  • Fun gameplay, wonderful story Oct 7, 2019

    By Bee-Bee Cyndaquil
I really love this game. The gameplay is simple to get a grasp of, and gets more challenging as you go. It isn’t something you have to devote a lot of attention to, but something to do with your hands while doing something else. It provides the option to play in two modes, one that’s like a game where if you make mistakes you lose hearts, and one where you don’t have to worry about making mistakes, but don’t know if you’re doing it right until the puzzle is completed. In addition to the gameplay, there is a nice little overarching story that you get to see completed at the end. At the beginning, I didn’t know why the moon was getting more and more covered in flowers, though it was still satisfying to see, but when I found out through the story it was even more satisfying. The translations of the story into english aren’t perfect, but it’s still easily understandable, and almost adds to the charm a little bit, especially the things the little moonkeeper can say whenever you open up the game. It was truly enjoyable and satisfying to finish due to the story, and I love that the developers were able to make it more than just an app of separate puzzles. Bringing it all together with a story really sets this app above other picross/nonogram games.

I enjoyed this puzzle.......up to a point. I count myself as an experienced picross player so the 5x5 puzzles are no problem. The 10x10 puzzles are the best ones but not very difficult. The 15x15 ones and 20x20 ones are impossible. Not because they themselves are difficult but because the squares on my phone are too small. I normally use a stylus for ease of selection but even this was too big to use. It does have two alternative selection methods but I found these too difficult to use.

  • Absolutely delightful, please add auto save Mar 27, 2019

This charming game is fun and challenging. The ads don’t bother me. I love the whimsical aesthetics. I would love the ability to zoom. On 20x20 puzzles I have to use the D pad instead of touch if I want to be super accurate. This game has never been buggy for me. Works perfectly. My other request is auto save. There is a save feature, but no other mobile game out there makes you save before closing to keep your progress, they just auto save. It’s not a big deal, as even if you have to restart a puzzle it’s still fun, but the functionality would be appreciated.

I have loved this app for a long time and play it nearly daily. Recently the ads have become intrusive. Some do not even have an option to close without exiting the game completely. Specifically when completing a level. If there were a pro version of this game that removed ads, I would gladly pay for it. I am not sure I can continue to play it in its current state so I have lowered my rating until something changes.

  • Good game, but the ads kill the experience Feb 6, 2017

    By Wadatah
The feel of the game is decent. The ambient music and the art style are pretty fantastic, especially once you understand the controls. The two big killers are the ads (as everybody else has said), and the fact that some of the story mode puzzles are impossible to solve with pure logic - once in a while, you're forced to guess in order to proceed further. I want to make this clear to the developer - I will pay actual money for an ad-free version. Were it not for that, this would be one of the best, if not THE best Picross game on the App Store.

At first I was enjoying the game, although I was a little amused by the broken English. But today I was playing it, and I started having an issue with exiting out of each puzzle. Upon completion of a puzzle, the app would sort of pause. I could click on the other buttons, but I couldn't press the back button. I could only progress if I closed and reopened the app. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, lost my progress, and then the same thing happened. Has anyone else had this problem?

This is a lovely little game that's so unique in not being like all the other games that start easy, get hard, get impossible, then make you pay to go forward or put time restrictions on when you can play again. It just gently lets you go at your own pace, doesn't penalise you if you make a mistake, doesn't ask for money, and has only a few understandable ads. It's only fault is how addictive it is!

I'm in love with this game. Played it all the way through, then deleted and re-downloaded to play it all again. I love the simple UI and the story progression. The music is super relaxing. My favorite picross app series by far (and I play a ton of picross)

  • Addictive Game Sep 8, 2017

I loved this little game! You could work on it and save your progress so you can work on a puzzle at any time, anywhere. The little story that accompanies it is cute and makes you wanna know what happens at the end and the puzzles really push you to use logic and a bit of math. I hardly ever finish these puzzle games but I loved this one so much. I don't blame them for having a ads, especially since it's for free but it tells you that you have no ads after completing 90% of puzzles but it's not true. Oh well! Still loved the game.

  • The most precious game in this gosh darn operating system Feb 21, 2017

    By robinikilite
Picross Luna is by far the most emotional mobile game I've ever played. The story is surprisingly compelling and interesting, and it makes you really want to keep playing. The puzzles are mentally stimulating, yet easy to understand, and they make you feel clever when you figure out tricks on your own. Each picture you reveal is always adorable and worth the work you put into it. Notably, there are many ads in this game, and no real way to remove them, but you can't blame the developers for wanting to make profit off their game they put so much effort into. It is free, after all. Picross Luna has kept my mind stimulated with its many, many puzzles and has even influenced my own art with its adorable characters and precious art. I wouldn't dream of giving it any less than 5 stars. The developers of this game deserve the world.

  • Very good Picross game Feb 26, 2017

    By Kay_Rock
The variety of challenges is excellent. The ads are a bit obtrusive, but at least they're not video ads and are quickly closed. It would be nice to have the ability to buy out of them. I saw an earlier reviewer complain that the harder puzzles cannot be solved by logic, and guessing must be used. This is absolutely NOT TRUE. Logic can solve every single puzzle in this game. The more challenging ones could prove a problem for some people, but they are absolutely solvable without taking a single guess. They are an excellent opportunity to hone and expand logic skills.

Such an addicting, good zone out game! Only complaint is that I did finish all of the big puzzles, and it had claimed that there wouldnt be any ads after 90% of one of the sections was complete. Not a huge deal, but the ads are still there.

I don't often write reviews, bit I really hope the creators read this. I love your game and my young daughter world like to play it too, but I can't let her because of the offensive advertising you choose to be on your game. Please choose something that is not so inappropriate and you'll open up a bigger market!

  • Love it, but... Jan 25, 2019

    By Cryssyn
I love Picross, in general, and this is wonderful. It would be very relaxing, between the puzzles and the background music. But, the reason for 3 stars instead of 5? The ads. The app claims that as soon as you’ve completed 90% of the puzzles, the ads will stop. This is a complete lie. I had ads right up until the end, even after the very last puzzle was completed. The other major problem is the type of ads. The ads on this app are extremely loud and annoying, completely at odds with the relaxing music of the app, so very jarring when you are trying to relax.

It's an okay little game, but the controls make the 15x15 and 20x20 puzzles a pain. The pen feels awkward and tedious (at least to me), and the smaller squares in the larger puzzles make it easy to tap the wrong one.

  • Not great Jul 13, 2018

    By nk_unique_nickname
I like that the game includes giant puzzles composed of smaller ones. However, they feel like the author just drew pictures without putting much thought into whether it would make a good picross puzzle. In particular, puzzle 7,1 in Prologue 4 is unsolvable without using hints - that's not a picross puzzle at all! Also, the X-mark controls are frustrating because dragging a whole row of Xs will erase filled squares in its path, unlike in most other picross games. I've ended up avoiding placing Xs until I need to (and most of the puzzles are easy enough that I don't need to.)
