On my Fire 10 tab, unable to access free version of Peacock TV

After managing to get the free version, or so I thought, the app would not let me escape the “get premium version” screen. I gave up and returned to the NBCsports app on my iPhone. This app immediately opens up to the “Tokyo 2020” screen. more -

May 1, 2022 By Linz@44We have tried many apps for tv shows and movies that claim to be “Free” and they all fall flat when it comes to delivering on it. Most only offer free trials, or have some (very little) actual free content. Peacock is so unlike the others, there is so much to watch that is truly free. They even make it easy with a little icon on the ones that require a subscription so you know before you click on it that it’s not included in the free subscription. You can make and personalize extra profiles, like one for each person in your family, or just adult and kids of you wanted to simplify it. It’s easy to use, and easy to understand what’s free. Right now we are using this app on a tv and two cell phones easily. Just log in and everything is there. You can of course upgrade to different packages which I plan to because I love this app and appreciate the way that they actually offer free tv shows and movies for people who can’t afford a subscription or don’t watch enough tv to justify paying for one. I highly recommend this app to everyone, weather you are looking for a free app to watch a ton of shows and movies on, or want a good place to check out if you like it for a future subscription. No cc required either for the basic free subscription! Give it a try it’s well worth it! more -
I am impressed with great improvements in accessibility for the blind
May 1, 2022 By Jim from Gainesville FLNot too long ago, I was very hard on Peacock because I love NBC. They were the first channel I started following when I got my first television back in 1985. When I found that there was no accessible contact with only description I was very disappointed. I have been working with the app and discovered more and more thing accessible even with my home service Cox Cable where I can only get audio description on primetime shows when they’re aired but not with replays through their app or their TV app. That’s or their app or their phone app. But Peacock is growing Malaysian bounds and I am finding is born works as well. Are you find unfortunately that there’s not a setting that I have found where I can leave audio description on. Every time a new episode of a show or series I’m watching comes on I must go into the audio settings and shoes sound English with a deer stands for audio description. It would be great if there was an option to leave I need a scription on all the time for those of us who use it. This is a great app with lots of different shows and I am truly impressed this is the Peacock I expected keep up the great work. When the video is playing the 'step forward/ back 10 seconds' buttons don't work, they actually RESTART the video from the beginning. While playing episodes there is no way of going back to the main page to see the episode list/ details. You can go back to the main front page, but you can't go to the details page of the show you're watching, that button does nothing. When paused, not all the play/ pause buttons work. more -
Love/Hate Relationship

However, please try to work on fixing all of the bugs and just chaotic disasters that are your streaming service… I’ve been patient and I’ve given you time because I knew you were new to the streaming scene, but myself and many other people have paid you guys money every month since you started for a while now…so please…FIX THE BUGS! About the only device this app works fine on is my phone, ANYTHING else and it’s unwatchable. If I started a movie on my phone earlier in the day and then decide to watch later on my PS4 your app has noooooo idea how to pick up where I left off. And you can forget about fast forwarding to where I was…the app will nearly freeze my entire system until I force close it. I never write reviews, I always read them and think people are obnoxious and have too much time on their hands, but maybe I finally understand that your voice needs to be heard sometimes. I love your app! Just make it less buggy! I’ll keep funding y’all in the meantime, but help a fan a veteran fan of The Office out! more -
App Functionality Needs Major Improvement
Jan 12, 2022 By KatiieGoldI absolutely LOVE the content on Peacock. It’s very quickly becoming my favorite streaming application. That being said, the functionality of the app can be terrible. I have tried this app on MANY different data sources: Wi-Fi, Verizon Wireless, Visible Wireless, Straight Talk Wireless, Personal Hotspot, etc., & it takes FOREVER to load no matter what source I use. When opening the app, it’ll sometimes say that “There was a problem loading the Peacock app. Try again” or I’ll go to watch a video & it will take a very long time to load or it’ll just boot me back out to the main menu altogether, which is just frustrating. When I pause a movie/show & my screen goes dark or to sleep, it’s very difficult to restart video. When I open my phone/tablet to restart video, it’ll have the Play, Rewind, Fast Forward buttons on screen with a black background, then it has to load until it shows a paused picture of the video I’m watching & displays the Play button again, & I then have to press Play again. However, if my screen goes dark again before it’s finished loading, I have to do it all over again, with the black background on the screen. I would LOVE to see an update to fix the double “Play” issue, but also the buffering issue. I still recommend this app to everyone I know though! Thank so much! more -

It's a software suggestion. I change my rating from 1 to 4 stars because the app still has some performance issues. At least it actually works now, though. (Original post) It doesn't work at all. When I tap on a user, it says "sorry, something went wrong" and won't load. I updated the app and restarted it. Still nothing. more -

Jul 23, 2021 By xxxjjsjsheI definitely love love this app and it’s amazing how all these good movies are here and it’s all completely free but there is one thing and only one thing that keeps on bothering me. No it is not the ads, I understand that those are necessary to gain some money but whenever an ad does come up once it is done the movie/show you are watching skips forward a bit and if you try to rewind it to see the part you missed, the app makes you watch the same ads again for a second time. This is quite annoying because there are some parts of the movie that get skipped but some times that part is important but you are not able to see it. I am not asking for you to take away the ads or change the thing that makes you watch ads for a second time, but all I am asking for is that you fix it so that after you watching an ad it goes back a couple seconds so that you don’t miss/forget anything or at least make it so that it takes you back to the second it stopped. Overall this app is amazing and I am loving it. 10 out of 10. more -
Constant changes in quality and content
Aug 17, 2020 By 8432789I am a day 1 user, waited months for this app at first never had any issues in my Apple TV or iPhone but now it’s constant errors. Most recent is just solid black screen with an outline of the channel schedule instead of puss in boots error screen occasionally. They also took away the office channel quietly a couple of days ago. Changed the reality tv “in it to win it” channel (that had huge variety in programming) into deal or no deal for over a week non stop 24/7. Just rename the channel already after nearly 250 episodes straight it’s officially the deal or no deal channel! I assumed okay maybe after they play each episode in the series I will get to see something new, sadly they just stared over from episode 1 again. Same episodes of kitchen nightmares (season 1) have been playing non stop for 5 days when it’s KN evening time block and the profit season 1. This didn’t used to be the case! There would be a mix of several seasons. I was thinking about subscribing but these are pretty major and sudden changes that make no sense. They were also what I used the app for 99% of the time. Went from being my #1 app to deleting and resubscribing to CBS all access who instead of taking away content added over 200 season of different shows last week. more

So I have to change it I can't see how to just make it default to regular audio. It wouldn't be horrible, but it switches back to the audio description on every episode? This is for the app on a chromebook, the app on my android phone has no problem like this. more -

The content is great. Unfortunately, this app is lacking in several accessibility features. Additionally, it needs different user profiles, so that I can have a watchlist that I don’t share with the rest of my family. It will not allow me to do picture in picture, which means my shows are interrupted each time I open a message to reply. I am very disappointed that there are not audio descriptions available for most shows. People with low vision or blindness, this limits access to some great television. Finally, I have tried to work out how to cancel autoplay as a default, but I can’t seem to do it. If I do not physically tap the screen before an episode ends, the app will automatically play the next episode. This is especially frustrating if I fall asleep watching a show, only to wake up with a whole season over. Again, I really do want to love this app. Every other streaming service I have allows for picture in picture, as well as autoplay camel, and most have audio descriptions. I hope peacock gets these features soon! more

I have to force stop it all the time to get it to play and also Currently there is a voice over that is automatically turning on and speaking over the programs when they play. This occurs any program is started up. It is located under subtitles. It is defaulting to "English AD". To turn it off, you have to switch it over to English, which does turn it off. However, if you pause the show or load a different show it defaults back more -
Terrible tvOS app
May 29, 2021 By HMK48718If I could avoid using peacock, I would, but there are too many good shows. However, it is still a painfully bad experience. On iOS/iPadOS there is no Picture in Picture support, which is very annoying, and sometimes the audio breaks and I have to exit the thing I’m watching and reopen it. That is annoying, but not too bad. tvOS is the real problem. It works terribly with the new Siri remote. Normally you can go back or forward ten seconds, but with the new Siri remote there is no way to do that. Clicking the forward and back buttons will bring up an orange symbol to go back or forward 10 seconds, but it won’t do anything, and it won’t go away until you tap somewhere else on the remote. If I had this problem in any other app, it would be slightly annoying, but I would just use the normal method of swiping (or rotating with the new circle gesture on the new Siri remote) to get where I need to go. Not only does peacock not support the new circle gesture, the swiping is terrible. This is probably the biggest problem with peacock. Tiny finger movements that would get me forward or back 4 seconds or so in the Apple TV app do nothing. But as soon as I start swiping my finger enough for peacock to react, it moves too fast for me to get even close to what I want. I can end up full minutes away from my target. This has been a problem with the old and new Siri remote, and it needs to be fixed. more -

On my tablet which is a samsung galaxy tab 6 I can download the app, log in to the app look through options but as soon as I go to play something I get unexpected fatal error. It is an app I should be able to play it on anything that an app loads on. Very frustrating. more -

THE APP DOESNT SUPPORT HDMI PORTING! How can you have “TV” in your name AND NOT SUPPORT A WELL KNOWN AND QUITE COMMON TV STREAMING DEVICE?! “Peacock IPhone/Android” should be the name, otherwise it’s just false advertisement - if I can’t stream to my TV, this is the biggest digital wooden nickel situation I’ve ever found myself in. If you’re going to buy out the main streaming service to something that has a full blown culture behind the profession, then do your best to support it or otherwise give it to someone who has the gaul or even the slightest intention to do so. I’ll tell you one thing, my family can’t watch a cell phone together and it’s unreasonable to expect something so asinine. For such a selection of material to watch, I honestly can’t believe in 2021 this is an issue. Peacock “TV” - false. First of all you can't get in touch with a representative, they want to know why you are calling (it sure isn't for idle conversation) before you get in touch with anyone and then you still won't get any issues resolved!!!!! Almost sure my card has been compromised but as long as they are getting their payments I guess everything is good with them!!!!! There's only one thing worse than ads, and that's ads that freeze the app. Doesn't sink between devices. If your steam is interrupted for any reason (phone call etc.) , the app completely goes haywire, and you must completely force close the. And then you can't pick up were you were at. You have to start from the beginning and find your spot in the movie... more -

So I’m not paying for this one. The free content on Peacock is abundant, but it’s mostly shows that no one wants to watch or that you can watch for free on the Hallmark Channel or wherever they now show Murder She Wrote. Not exactly cutting edge programming. If this was an excellent app, I might have been interested. But it is clunky to operate, not very intuitive, and slow. So. Slow. It can take 5+ minutes to search for, find, and start playing a show. All while I’m watching those little rainbow dots go in circles. And the app freezes and crashes a lot. Not usually during a show, but definitely a lot while navigating the app and searching. We have super fast internet (more than a gig in speed to our house) and have no problem getting Netflix or Prime to load fast. Even CBS All Access is faster. Personally, I hope we will soon see consolidation in this space so we can see our favorite shows without having to subscribe to a dozen different services. And as those apps compete against each other, Peacock will not be a winner. NBC, you gave it a try. Now I hope you will license your best shows to Netflix and let us watch while you earn royalties for doing nothing. more

May 1, 2022 By Linz@44We have tried many apps for tv shows and movies that claim to be “Free” and they all fall flat when it comes to delivering on it. Most only offer free trials, or have some (very little) actual free content. Peacock is so unlike the others, there is so much to watch that is truly free. They even make it easy with a little icon on the ones that require a subscription so you know before you click on it that it’s not included in the free subscription. You can make and personalize extra profiles, like one for each person in your family, or just adult and kids of you wanted to simplify it. It’s easy to use, and easy to understand what’s free. Right now we are using this app on a tv and two cell phones easily. Just log in and everything is there. You can of course upgrade to different packages which I plan to because I love this app and appreciate the way that they actually offer free tv shows and movies for people who can’t afford a subscription or don’t watch enough tv to justify paying for one. I highly recommend this app to everyone, weather you are looking for a free app to watch a ton of shows and movies on, or want a good place to check out if you like it for a future subscription. No cc required either for the basic free subscription! Give it a try it’s well worth it! more -
I am impressed with great improvements in accessibility for the blind

When I found that there was no accessible contact with only description I was very disappointed. I have been working with the app and discovered more and more thing accessible even with my home service Cox Cable where I can only get audio description on primetime shows when they’re aired but not with replays through their app or their TV app. That’s or their app or their phone app. But Peacock is growing Malaysian bounds and I am finding is born works as well. Are you find unfortunately that there’s not a setting that I have found where I can leave audio description on. Every time a new episode of a show or series I’m watching comes on I must go into the audio settings and shoes sound English with a deer stands for audio description. It would be great if there was an option to leave I need a scription on all the time for those of us who use it. This is a great app with lots of different shows and I am truly impressed this is the Peacock I expected keep up the great work. However, please try to work on fixing all of the bugs and just chaotic disasters that are your streaming service… I’ve been patient and I’ve given you time because I knew you were new to the streaming scene, but myself and many other people have paid you guys money every month since you started for a while now…so please…FIX THE BUGS! About the only device this app works fine on is my phone, ANYTHING else and it’s unwatchable. If I started a movie on my phone earlier in the day and then decide to watch later on my PS4 your app has noooooo idea how to pick up where I left off. And you can forget about fast forwarding to where I was…the app will nearly freeze my entire system until I force close it. I never write reviews, I always read them and think people are obnoxious and have too much time on their hands, but maybe I finally understand that your voice needs to be heard sometimes. I love your app! Just make it less buggy! I’ll keep funding y’all in the meantime, but help a fan a veteran fan of The Office out! more -

No it is not the ads, I understand that those are necessary to gain some money but whenever an ad does come up once it is done the movie/show you are watching skips forward a bit and if you try to rewind it to see the part you missed, the app makes you watch the same ads again for a second time. This is quite annoying because there are some parts of the movie that get skipped but some times that part is important but you are not able to see it. I am not asking for you to take away the ads or change the thing that makes you watch ads for a second time, but all I am asking for is that you fix it so that after you watching an ad it goes back a couple seconds so that you don’t miss/forget anything or at least make it so that it takes you back to the second it stopped. Overall this app is amazing and I am loving it. 10 out of 10. more -
The worst app I’ve ever used + worst customer support
Nov 24, 2020 By Smastri13This is absolutely the worst app I have ever used, it has almost constant buffering issues. It constantly says that I am off-line when every other streaming app works fine. Not only that when you try to reach out to Support they are completely unhelpful. I tried over the course of a month and a half to get resolution on this and every time they had me start over from the beginning of troubleshooting and asking the same basic questions over and over even though I had an open case number. Not only that, about a third of the time the only option for Support was the live chat which did not work properly on any device or laptop so there was no way to even report an issue. After spending over 40 hours over the course of the month and a half I finally gave up troubleshooting. For a while the app seemed to be improving, but now it’s right back to having a ton of buffering errors. Hope they really work on this, it’s the most frustrating Service I have ever used and I pay for both premium and no ads. more -
Great Accessibility Progress

I have only noticed one small glitch in the current version. If you are playing a video and press the audio subtitles button, VoiceOver will not display the available options. It only gives you an option to dismiss the menu. I also noticed that in both the app and website that audio description will not stay on. Every time you open the browser or app to resume a show, and when the next episode plays automatically, the audio track defaults back to original English, meaning that you need to manually enable audio description for every episode. It would be incredibly helpful if description were to automatically stay enabled for specific profiles, and only default to original when someone disables description or switches profiles. The App is Amazing

The ads are actually enjoyable to watch and arent repetitive. Peacock adds new movies/shows all the time and always sends you a notification to check it out. The best thing about Peacock is that when it adds new movies/shows they don’t give a due date to show when they are removing the movie. The reason why its a good thing is because, you don’t have to rush and try and watch it. But when Peacock does get rid of the show or movie they simply add it to Premium but they soon add it back so people who don’t have Premium (me) are able to get a chance to watch it. I really love this app but can you please please, take the show The Purge off of Premium so I can watch it, and the movie It off of Premium too (the one starring Harry Anderson) please and thank you! Best of any streaming services

There are an astounding number of shows available at no recurring cost to me (I wait through 45 seconds of ads during a show’s normal commercial break). Other streaming services (cough cough Disney, CBS, etc. cough cough) have nearly everything trapped behind a paywall, and honestly I can’t afford 6 dollars here, 5 dollars there, every single month, to four or five streaming services. Frankly I do not want to sign up not only due to budget but from principle: when the writing hit the wall with companies pulling shows from Netflix to move them to their own premium streaming services, I said then that I wouldn’t sign up for multiple premium services because I saw it as the companies’ greed. And I don’t have to with Peacock, because they make so much available while being so reasonable with their consumers. So because of their model, this is one streaming service where I actually would sign up for premium just to support them. more -

Nov 27, 2022 By TimothyM1989As a former subscriber of WWE Network since it’s launch in 2014, I automatically subscribed to Peacock when the 🇺🇸version of the standalone WWE Network closed on Easter 2021. I absolutely love everything about it, it’s the same service but only distributed through a new platform. Although I do wish that Peacock had some features that WWE Network had, such as, a way to disable autoplay completely as well as a way to clear out your viewing activity so that your continue watching category wasn’t so long and cluttered up. Hopefully these will be recommended and considered in a later app update. I also love being able to have tons of non wrestling related content available as well. So far so good have the app on both my iPhone XR as well as my Apple TV 4K and it runs smoothly on both devices. more -
The streaming is fine

A film which I am familiar with so when all of a sudden I am in the back room and suddenly the audio of something completely unrelated to the film starts up, sure enough there is a commercial being shown. I don’t mind a service that has to show advertisements occasionally as long as it is clearly defined when these advertisements are supposed to be and that they tell the truth whenever a film is supposed to be offered free of advertising. I find this not to be true at all. If I am told that I am going to be allowed to watch something without ads then I expect to see no ads. I understand the need for advertisements, really. But this is not acceptable. more

It’s okay.

However, I got the app for free with Xfinity wifi and they said I would have Peacock PREMIUM. When I think of premium I think “no ads.” Well that is NOT the case. I try to watch tv shows and an ad plays every few minutes. It plays about every 5 minutes during the show. I get a 60 second ad about 3-4 times every single 24 minutes episode. And it does not stop there. I also get 15 and 30 second ads on top of the minute long ones. So over all I’m watching roughly 10 minutes of ads every single episode??? I thought I was suppose to have premium… this is not premium. I enjoy the app, but the ads are just ridiculous. If anything, play a minute and a half ad BEFORE the episode so customers can watch a single episode in peace without interruption every 3 seconds. I gave four stars because I know how hard it is to allow such a selection without ads. But come on… I watch about 5 minutes of a show and get hit with 5 minutes of ads. It makes me not want to use the app. more -
LOVE the content, but problems with playback

When I watch Peacock on my TV through my Xfinity connected set top/DVR cable box, everything works fine. No problems with the time tracking, (ie if you are 30 mins into watching the program, it accurately displays the progress). BUT — while watching the same show or movie on my iPad or iPhone (not necessarily picking up where I left off on one device and watching it on another — that works great and is an awesome feature!), I can be 30 mins into a show, yet the progress bar is stuck on the time from the last commercial break. Then if I try to rewind, it makes me watch the entire commercial break AGAIN. It has happened where I wind up being forced to watch more commercial time than actual content time in one 30 minute show!! Also, sometimes I will get all the way to the end of a program, and it won’t auto start the next episode. Any progression feature (rewind, FF, etc) tapped will trigger ANOTHER commercial break!! Lastly, can’t you remove commercials altogether for premium subscribers? Hopefully this progression issue gets fixed QUICKLY 🙏🏼🙏🏼! It’s REALLY ANNOYING to have to sit through so many commercials every time you rewind!! more -
Sports content layout could be better

The most recent race is placed at the very end so if I want to watch a replay of the Jan 8 GS race I have to start in October and go through all the races to get to it. Kind of annoying on the Apple TV. Coverage of FIS racing is split up into first and second runs which is understandable but this morning I watched part of the replay of a first run and didn’t get to the live coverage of the second run in time before it concluded. No way to watch the second run until they put up the replay, which seems like it’s taking a really long time. In the meantime they posted short “highlight” reels with info that spoils the results of the race right in the headline. Overall I’m glad that these events are available to watch at all in the US and hope that Peacock continues or even expands its coverage. more -

When you download multiple episodes of a show you cannot auto play the next episode even if it’s also downloaded, you have to back out and reselect the next one 2. Your continue watching page is not on the opening page of the app, you have to select browse just to see what you’ve already been watching, I feel my recent viewing should be the first thing I see so I can quickly resume my shows 3. I don’t quite understand why some episode downloads have such brief time limits, it isn’t the biggest issue but I downloaded some P&R and it started a two day countdown so I have to hurry and watch them even though I’m paying to be able to watch them offline more -
App Works Good on iPhone, Not So Good Elsewhere

Now we have a problem. My iPhone 11 Pro Max running the latest version of iOS refuses to play any videos from this app on any TV. It will still play on my iPhone, while the TV shows a freeze frame of where I started the video. The audio comes from the TV as it should, though. When I try to play a video on my TV from an older device, it doesn’t play on either screen, though I can still hear audio from the TV. It still plays on my device properly while not plugged into a TV. I have several other streaming video apps, and all work the way they’re supposed to. Peacock is the only one that doesn't. I was hoping the latest update would fix this problem. It didn’t. more -

You guys probably get 100s of these a day that you probably don’t even look at. And I hope your looking at this one because I’m giving the truth. The truth is, peacock is great and all but it doesn’t have as much as you would want it to have. And you should change the show slides everyday so you aren’t looking at the same shows everyday. Because people want a variety of tv options. From the baby shows, to the teenage shows, to the adult shows, to the old people shows. People want variety! That’s all I’m trying to say. Latest Update is broken
Feb 10, 2022 By Spacebum25I’ve been using Peacock for over a year without any problems. I upgraded to the newest release and get a “something went wrong message”. Uninstalled and reinstalled and same thing happens plus now I get a prompt to upgrade to premium. I’m already a premium subscriber. This release was supposed to fix bugs but it is one big bug. Update: After receiving an email from Peacock regarding a new device trying to access the service after my reinstall I looked at the location in the email. The location was not correct and I realized I had my VPN turned on. I of course leave the VPN on 24x7. I turned it off and Peacock worked fine. They need to allow the service to work with VPN especially if you are paying for the service. Updated service to 4 stars. We don’t have cable so have been enjoying the Olympics with it. more -
The Office is life
Dec 28, 2021 By errcycoI will do anything to watch my beloved office. Upon paying for peacock o found they had superfan episodes. If you’re a superfan it’s a must to get peacock and watch them. So many little cut scenes in the normal show that didn’t make sense will now! I have one problem with peacock but it’s a big problem.. So if you binge watch seasons you go episode to episode. Netflix has this down to a science, I could fall asleep to my favorite show. With Peacock that’s not happening no matter what you do. Once you’ve watched an episode once it will PERMANENTLY stay put at the last 2-3 seconds. So unless you have ninja reflexes on each episode you are forced to go through this convoluted and very frustrating process EACH episode just to get it to play from the beginning. It’s made me dislike the app entirely but I still use it cause it’s the only way to watch The Office more -
I Love watching BUT…
Nov 28, 2022 By Wec1022I don’t understand why all of a sudden peacock is asking me on my fire tv if I’m still watching… I usually watch peacock more than anything else and because I’m someone that rarely sleeps more than 2 hours at a time I loved how it played right through so every time I woke up during the night i could just continue watching without having to restart everything. And now that’s been ruined and I can’t seem to find anything about changing it so it doesn’t ask or changing amount of time before it ask if I’m still watching. Very annoying and will lead me to just playing something other than peacock, sadly… other than this recent change i absolutely love the service and honestly it’s definitely one of the must haves in streaming services and out does many of the ones you pay a lot more for. more

When the video is playing the 'step forward/ back 10 seconds' buttons don't work, they actually RESTART the video from the beginning. While playing episodes there is no way of going back to the main page to see the episode list/ details. You can go back to the main front page, but you can't go to the details page of the show you're watching, that button does nothing. When paused, not all the play/ pause buttons work. more -
App Functionality Needs Major Improvement
Jan 12, 2022 By KatiieGoldI absolutely LOVE the content on Peacock. It’s very quickly becoming my favorite streaming application. That being said, the functionality of the app can be terrible. I have tried this app on MANY different data sources: Wi-Fi, Verizon Wireless, Visible Wireless, Straight Talk Wireless, Personal Hotspot, etc., & it takes FOREVER to load no matter what source I use. When opening the app, it’ll sometimes say that “There was a problem loading the Peacock app. Try again” or I’ll go to watch a video & it will take a very long time to load or it’ll just boot me back out to the main menu altogether, which is just frustrating. When I pause a movie/show & my screen goes dark or to sleep, it’s very difficult to restart video. When I open my phone/tablet to restart video, it’ll have the Play, Rewind, Fast Forward buttons on screen with a black background, then it has to load until it shows a paused picture of the video I’m watching & displays the Play button again, & I then have to press Play again. However, if my screen goes dark again before it’s finished loading, I have to do it all over again, with the black background on the screen. I would LOVE to see an update to fix the double “Play” issue, but also the buffering issue. I still recommend this app to everyone I know though! Thank so much! more -
Constant changes in quality and content

Most recent is just solid black screen with an outline of the channel schedule instead of puss in boots error screen occasionally. They also took away the office channel quietly a couple of days ago. Changed the reality tv “in it to win it” channel (that had huge variety in programming) into deal or no deal for over a week non stop 24/7. Just rename the channel already after nearly 250 episodes straight it’s officially the deal or no deal channel! I assumed okay maybe after they play each episode in the series I will get to see something new, sadly they just stared over from episode 1 again. Same episodes of kitchen nightmares (season 1) have been playing non stop for 5 days when it’s KN evening time block and the profit season 1. This didn’t used to be the case! There would be a mix of several seasons. I was thinking about subscribing but these are pretty major and sudden changes that make no sense. They were also what I used the app for 99% of the time. Went from being my #1 app to deleting and resubscribing to CBS all access who instead of taking away content added over 200 season of different shows last week. more -

So I have to change it I can't see how to just make it default to regular audio. It wouldn't be horrible, but it switches back to the audio description on every episode? The content is great. Unfortunately, this app is lacking in several accessibility features. Additionally, it needs different user profiles, so that I can have a watchlist that I don’t share with the rest of my family. It will not allow me to do picture in picture, which means my shows are interrupted each time I open a message to reply. I am very disappointed that there are not audio descriptions available for most shows. People with low vision or blindness, this limits access to some great television. Finally, I have tried to work out how to cancel autoplay as a default, but I can’t seem to do it. If I do not physically tap the screen before an episode ends, the app will automatically play the next episode. This is especially frustrating if I fall asleep watching a show, only to wake up with a whole season over. Again, I really do want to love this app. Every other streaming service I have allows for picture in picture, as well as autoplay camel, and most have audio descriptions. I hope peacock gets these features soon! more -

Could be better with a few easy tweaks
Oct 5, 2022 By JRebels95I like peacock it’s a decent platform but there’s a few setbacks versus other apps… first, you can’t turn off auto play in settings. This I find very annoying as I can’t play my shows on my bedroom tv at night in fear that I’ll fall asleep & it’ll just keep playing & playing & playing. I can’t think of 2 other streaming apps off the top of my head where you can turn it off & it even remembers which device (i.e. it auto plays on my living room tv but then on my bedroom tv it doesn’t) This is such a stellar feature so especially with NBC pulling their shows off of all other platforms this is a huge let down that it doesn’t have this capability. Also, on the Apple TV the fast forward/backward AND play/pause tend to seriously lag. I watch tv with my mom once a week who lives far away & again on almost every other platform I can audibly get us in sync. Thanks to this lag it’s virtually impossible on the peacock app which is again very annoying. Otherwise the content is amazing & the rest of the app works well but when comparing it to others it does have shortcomings. more -

I find I have to relaunch the app to turn off subtitles while streaming to my TV every time it advances to another episode, and it always defaults to subtitles on. Good Content, Sad App
Jul 7, 2022 By Skippy7261I really enjoy a lot of the content on the platform so we keep using it… But the amount of times I’ve yelled at the tv that I hate this app is immeasurable. The UI just isn’t user friendly. It’s hard to tell what is actually selected at most times and if you scroll over when selecting episodes it often takes you completely out of the section you thought you were in. Just feels like the programmers haven’t ever actually used a streaming service. The final straw for me to write a review is that there’s no way to edit watch history or remove things from the continue watching section. We have completed all the seasons on a specific show with like 8 seasons and since it accidentally started over at season 1 episode 1 now it will forever be in my continue watching section. Just annoying things that could easily be fixed with some improvements that most other apps like it already offer. Hope they put the money we pay them towards improving the app at some point… or maybe we’ll just bail on subscribing. more

Terrible tvOS app
May 29, 2021 By HMK48718If I could avoid using peacock, I would, but there are too many good shows. However, it is still a painfully bad experience. On iOS/iPadOS there is no Picture in Picture support, which is very annoying, and sometimes the audio breaks and I have to exit the thing I’m watching and reopen it. That is annoying, but not too bad. tvOS is the real problem. It works terribly with the new Siri remote. Normally you can go back or forward ten seconds, but with the new Siri remote there is no way to do that. Clicking the forward and back buttons will bring up an orange symbol to go back or forward 10 seconds, but it won’t do anything, and it won’t go away until you tap somewhere else on the remote. If I had this problem in any other app, it would be slightly annoying, but I would just use the normal method of swiping (or rotating with the new circle gesture on the new Siri remote) to get where I need to go. Not only does peacock not support the new circle gesture, the swiping is terrible. This is probably the biggest problem with peacock. Tiny finger movements that would get me forward or back 4 seconds or so in the Apple TV app do nothing. But as soon as I start swiping my finger enough for peacock to react, it moves too fast for me to get even close to what I want. I can end up full minutes away from my target. This has been a problem with the old and new Siri remote, and it needs to be fixed. more -
Deleting content out of no where.

After seeing some advertisements about older shows such as Twilight and fifty shades of gray and Harry Potter, i decided to purchase a subscription. I was very thrilled to rewatch all these for many platforms don't have all these together. I started Twilight yesterday and continued watching in the next day for there is 4-5 different movies to the series. But today in the middle of watching it I peacock kicked me off the platform and rebooted itself and I could no longer FIND twilight in the search bar or my most recently watched. It literally disappeared. I checked it on the tv because I have a roku connection to the same peacock account as well and I could no longer find it. I am very disappointed and annoyed due to the fact that I just signed up 3 days ago for the peacock subscription and now these shows that were advertised are magically gone. Before signing up the subscription indicated that I will have access to all content with ads since I only paid for the 4.99 subscription. What is going on? Why did twilight disappear from your content and also there's absolutely no way I could get a hold of customer service for you only provide a robot that's doesn't lead you anywhere. more -

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it still has the same issue. Super annoying! The other streaming services don't have this issue. Hopefully this glitch can get fixed! more -
No English Audio
Feb 25, 2022 By Big Oaks FarmsWatching Yellowstone Season 3 Episode 5 and all of a sudden it switches to Spanish Audio. I attempt to go into closed captioned and make sure English subtitles and English Audio is selected and there is no English available. I go to the previous episode and see English audio is available. I go to the episode 6 and no English audio is available. I go out of Yellowstone and select BelAir and it plays English. I select another title and it plays English. I unplug the TV for 60 seconds, I then unplug the modem and routers, I delete the Peacock app and reinstall. I attempt to contact Peacock customer service and there are more than 99+ customers in front of me and then so get kicked out of que telling me no agents are available. I saved the transcript. I took screenshots of the issues. I have been troubleshooting for over an hour and a half. It does the same thing on all devices. I have a headache and I need to go trudge through the snow and cold now to take care of our own animals. Not a fan Peacock right now. Fix your glitch and when this stuff happens, you should be sending emails to your customers letting them know what’s going on and posting it on your website. We would like a free month for the aggravation and less than adequate customer service. Thank you. more -

And the first season of "House" is all with audio description for blind people and it can't be disabled. But it is a good enough app with some great content. So I'm trying to upgrade to ad-free. But there's no option to do it within the app, and anytime I try to update on chrome it redirects to the app. So I'm stuck with the ads. Why don't they make it easier for me to give them my money?! Haha more -
Rather clunky app
Dec 18, 2020 By St. BozmanI am late getting the app. But after having it for about 4 months I am surprised by how poorly the app is designed and works. Take searches, very slow, and doesn’t automatically load suggestions as you type. Also, It is the slowest app on my iPad to open and load, I almost think it crashed with just those 6 dots floating. But then the app loads, only to take a long time to switch to another screen, like when browse is selected or opening settings. One would expect a better user interface and faster app coming out of an entertainment/tech company. Feels like the app isn’t a priority. Would be nice if it allowed for multiple “users” like spouse and kids as we like different shows. Lastly, they should re-think commercials. I’m not against commercials and like them if it means affordable subscriptions. But the commercials are too long. It’s not the good old days of network tv. They should redesign how commercials work for the modern age. Right now I just look at my phone during commercials. So, my conclusion is that it’s an app to go to when there is a show you want to watch, ie: Yellowstone, but not an app you GO TO to find something to watch. Good luck. Jan 28, 2023 By Peter M.Great content but the streaming options to chromecast are a joke. There should be zero issue syncing the timeline of anything with what's displayed on a screen. If you leave the app, it immediately blanks out the current video time and if you try reopen the app to pause it, it starts the streamed video over, but since it doesn't display the timeline you have to try and buffer to a point you recognize to start over at the right spot. This is very frustrating and reminds me of android 1.6 🍩 more -

Oct 31, 2021 By Chipper121Dear peacock first of all it’s very difficult to find help using the app I looked for a contact customer service or anything of that nature of contact us button and it seems to be very hard to access from the app at least I couldn’t find it Secondly I pay extra to not have to watch commercials bad as I’m sitting here watching my program I keep getting interrupted every few minutes by a commercial how does this happen I am paying not to have to watch commercials maybe you need to look into this I figure writing a review is the only way to get your attention and that probably won’t work either- I am still having shows with commercials and I pay for ad free - cannot figure out how to contact help - one show was called All of Me - the other was called Eat Up - Girl on fire was another - I have been paying for ad free shows since opening my peacock account and I have always had commercials this is not right - I cannot figure out how to contact help and cannot get help with this - the help category on the app only helps with parental controls - I need help - I should get what I pay for - can a developer contact me thru my sign up email please? more -
Doesn’t even support TV playback

For background noise and general television watching (I don’t watch much cable TV but I enjoy background noise during chores/work) I use the types of apps that give free TV. I have three of these apps and have used several others. Peacock’s layout and aesthetics best the other apps but overall the app does not. There are barely any channels and even though every single other app I’ve used supports screen playback through apple adapters, Peacock does not. It’s almost like they purposely ruined that part. If I’m trying to watch Live Tv: it stays a black screen with audio or completely freezes but if I click over to “movies” it’ll show on screen through the adapter. That’s pointless, I’m trying to watch live tv on tv. Every other app has more channels and allows the channels to be played through an adapter/outside source instead of freezing it. This means movies/shows/etc that aren’t live won’t work either (if they do then what’s the difference). more

I have to force stop it all the time to get it to play and also Currently there is a voice over that is automatically turning on and speaking over the programs when they play. This occurs any program is started up. It is located under subtitles. It is defaulting to "English AD". To turn it off, you have to switch it over to English, which does turn it off. On my tablet which is a samsung galaxy tab 6 I can download the app, log in to the app look through options but as soon as I go to play something I get unexpected fatal error. It is an app I should be able to play it on anything that an app loads on. Very frustrating. more -

THE APP DOESNT SUPPORT HDMI PORTING! How can you have “TV” in your name AND NOT SUPPORT A WELL KNOWN AND QUITE COMMON TV STREAMING DEVICE?! “Peacock IPhone/Android” should be the name, otherwise it’s just false advertisement - if I can’t stream to my TV, this is the biggest digital wooden nickel situation I’ve ever found myself in. This is horrible. If you’re going to buy out the main streaming service to something that has a full blown culture behind the profession, then do your best to support it or otherwise give it to someone who has the gaul or even the slightest intention to do so. I’ll tell you one thing, my family can’t watch a cell phone together and it’s unreasonable to expect something so asinine. For such a selection of material to watch, I honestly can’t believe in 2021 this is an issue. Peacock “TV” - false. This is frankly pathetic and I won’t be renewing my subscription, hopefully someone who cares will do some justice to this completely ridiculous fumbling and vague handling of the term “TV” - television, as in NOT A PHONE. First of all you can't get in touch with a representative, they want to know why you are calling (it sure isn't for idle conversation) before you get in touch with anyone and then you still won't get any issues resolved!!!!! Almost sure my card has been compromised but as long as they are getting their payments I guess everything is good with them!!!!! There's only one thing worse than ads, and that's ads that freeze the app. Doesn't sink between devices. If your steam is interrupted for any reason (phone call etc.) , the app completely goes haywire, and you must completely force close the. And then you can't pick up were you were at. Clunky, slow app. Not gonna pay just for the Office.
Feb 9, 2021 By CTCVAI love The Office. And Parks & Rec. But there are just way too many steaming services now and paying for all of them to watch one or two shows is just ridiculous. So I’m not paying for this one. The free content on Peacock is abundant, but it’s mostly shows that no one wants to watch or that you can watch for free on the Hallmark Channel or wherever they now show Murder She Wrote. Not exactly cutting edge programming. If this was an excellent app, I might have been interested. But it is clunky to operate, not very intuitive, and slow. So. Slow. It can take 5+ minutes to search for, find, and start playing a show. All while I’m watching those little rainbow dots go in circles. And the app freezes and crashes a lot. Not usually during a show, but definitely a lot while navigating the app and searching. We have super fast internet (more than a gig in speed to our house) and have no problem getting Netflix or Prime to load fast. Even CBS All Access is faster. Personally, I hope we will soon see consolidation in this space so we can see our favorite shows without having to subscribe to a dozen different services. And as those apps compete against each other, Peacock will not be a winner. NBC, you gave it a try. Now I hope you will license your best shows to Netflix and let us watch while you earn royalties for doing nothing. more -

Then it starts where I originally started, so I have to fast forward. Then there's an ad and it freezes up again. This used to be my favorite app, but I literally can't watch anything. There's no way to switch it to regular audio as a default in the settings either. Every single time one episode ends and another begins i have to turn audio description off and it is really frustrating. Make it an option like it used to be. more

I'm giving a one star review because of your Audio Description feature. It turns on automatically after every episode, despite the fact that I never turned it on to begin with. There's no way to remove this feature or prevent it from reoccuring. Incredibly annoying and it needs to be fixed. Edit: Audio Description has been fixed after recent update. Thank you.

What’s Subpar
One star because I have been using this app for a while now. I have not had any issues until recently. I have the ad-free subscription and paid my bill this month but all of a sudden I have ads. I went to my settings to see if my plan was changed but it wasn't. I'm hoping this is just a glitch in the app. Update: after talking to a CSR, I was told that due to streaming guidelines, some shows and movies will still have ads. Even if you pay for the premium plus. A little annoying but whatever. 2☆
