On my Fire 10 tab, unable to access free version of Peacock TV Jul 25, 2021

    By Paul P. Williams
Peacock TV wants too much information for free version. Suggestion: get requested information after subscriber chooses to purchase premium version. After managing to get the free version, or so I thought, the app would not let me escape the “get premium version” screen. I gave up and returned to the NBCsports app on my iPhone. This app immediately opens up to the “Tokyo 2020” screen.

Some problems make it not worth it Feb 8, 2021

Can’t watch at home except for on my tiny phone screen because the idiots who run this thing decided to block me from using an hdmi. Not worth paying for if I can’t even watch it on a proper tv.

Not great, but it's what you expect from a cable company. Streams take ages to reach full resolution on my TV despite 400 mb/s connection. I had high hopes for the Olympic coverage but is it disappointing. I will say that The Tokyo Live and Tokyo Gold shows are heaps better than the NBC coverage, but...the other content is a mess. I thought we would get access to live streams of actual events, no. I thought we would get massive amounts of replays, no there are some. I thought we would be able to pay for premium - commercial free viewing, we can't. There are so many events at the Olympics and so much to see but Peacock gives your only a "view obscured" seat. Come on Comcast, you can do better!!!

I am a day 1 user, waited months for this app at first never had any issues in my Apple TV or iPhone but now it’s constant errors. Most recent is just solid black screen with an outline of the channel schedule instead of puss in boots error screen occasionally. They also took away the office channel quietly a couple of days ago. Changed the reality tv “in it to win it” channel (that had huge variety in programming) into deal or no deal for over a week non stop 24/7. Just rename the channel already after nearly 250 episodes straight it’s officially the deal or no deal channel! I assumed okay maybe after they play each episode in the series I will get to see something new, sadly they just stared over from episode 1 again. Same episodes of kitchen nightmares (season 1) have been playing non stop for 5 days when it’s KN evening time block and the profit season 1. This didn’t used to be the case! There would be a mix of several seasons. I was thinking about subscribing but these are pretty major and sudden changes that make no sense. They were also what I used the app for 99% of the time. Went from being my #1 app to deleting and resubscribing to CBS all access who instead of taking away content added over 200 season of different shows last week.

I have an account with peacock, and I love using it! I just have a few suggestions that could provide better experience. I would like to suggest maybe adding a feedback option in the app where users can provide feedback on the app, and possibly have a list of things to add for the feedback, like how Netflix does. Have an option to request NBC shows to be added onto peacock that is currently not on peacock, and if for some reason the shows cannot be added maybe provide a reason why it cannot be added. Also I would like to suggest having a profile of some sort for franchises to be added into one group for example the Chicago Franchise (Med, PD, Fire) Law and Order ( LO, SVU, CI, OC,) where users can click on the the group of shows and then it would open into selecting which one you want to watch. I would also like to request all the Law and Order Shows and movie to be added into peacock that are not on there right now, also the Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice. NBC Universal why have a streaming service when you don’t even provide access to shows that you have created that aren’t under any licensing agreements?
  • Add Picture in Picture, audio descriptions & autoplay cancel. Jan 27, 2021

    By Crichelle
Add Picture in Picture, audio descriptions & autoplay cancel. I really want to love this app. I even paid for the commercial free version, because I love NBC so much. The content is great. Unfortunately, this app is lacking in several accessibility features. Additionally, it needs different user profiles, so that I can have a watchlist that I don’t share with the rest of my family. It will not allow me to do picture in picture, which means my shows are interrupted each time I open a message to reply. I am very disappointed that there are not audio descriptions available for most shows. People with low vision or blindness, this limits access to some great television. Finally, I have tried to work out how to cancel autoplay as a default, but I can’t seem to do it. If I do not physically tap the screen before an episode ends, the app will automatically play the next episode. This is especially frustrating if I fall asleep watching a show, only to wake up with a whole season over. Again, I really do want to love this app. Every other streaming service I have allows for picture in picture, as well as autoplay camel, and most have audio descriptions. I hope peacock gets these features soon!
  • A lot of people have these problems too But I still like the app May 13, 2021

The app has some great shows and it cool that you have an option to have it free. But some of the free stuff isn’t all that good but there are some good stuff with the premium is so I got premium. Anyways what I don’t like is how sometimes I can watch a tv show and i go onto the next episode and I’m half way into it then I get off the app and go back on and then it would show that I’m on like the episode before that one which is annoying so then I would have to look up the show to find my episode again . Like why can’t y’all just leave me off where I was. I also don’t like how it takes long for things to load sometimes and how there are some episodes of a show have a time limit left on the app, like why do that if someone is trying to binge watch a good show. Also the adds are way to long like I think 15 seconds is fine, The app is really modern so I don’t know why it has these problems . I’m not deleting the app because it isn’t the worst But I hope you make better changes.

I definitely love love this app and it’s amazing how all these good movies are here and it’s all completely free but there is one thing and only one thing that keeps on bothering me. No it is not the ads, I understand that those are necessary to gain some money but whenever an ad does come up once it is done the movie/show you are watching skips forward a bit and if you try to rewind it to see the part you missed, the app makes you watch the same ads again for a second time. This is quite annoying because there are some parts of the movie that get skipped but some times that part is important but you are not able to see it. I am not asking for you to take away the ads or change the thing that makes you watch ads for a second time, but all I am asking for is that you fix it so that after you watching an ad it goes back a couple seconds so that you don’t miss/forget anything or at least make it so that it takes you back to the second it stopped. Overall this app is amazing and I am loving it. 10 out of 10.
  • LOVE the content, but problems with playback Sep 14, 2020

    By RoMoBenCeasDee
Go team 🌈Peacock 🦚 for providing AWESOME content — all my favorite Bravo shows, every season, even every season of Bethany’s spin offs! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I also love the variety of Indie movies with great celebs and directors! 🥳🥳🥳 Now — the problem with playback. When I watch Peacock on my TV through my Xfinity connected set top/DVR cable box, everything works fine. No problems with the time tracking, (ie if you are 30 mins into watching the program, it accurately displays the progress). BUT — while watching the same show or movie on my iPad or iPhone (not necessarily picking up where I left off on one device and watching it on another — that works great and is an awesome feature!), I can be 30 mins into a show, yet the progress bar is stuck on the time from the last commercial break. Then if I try to rewind, it makes me watch the entire commercial break AGAIN. It has happened where I wind up being forced to watch more commercial time than actual content time in one 30 minute show!! Also, sometimes I will get all the way to the end of a program, and it won’t auto start the next episode. Any progression feature (rewind, FF, etc) tapped will trigger ANOTHER commercial break!! Lastly, can’t you remove commercials altogether for premium subscribers? Hopefully this progression issue gets fixed QUICKLY 🙏🏼🙏🏼! It’s REALLY ANNOYING to have to sit through so many commercials every time you rewind!!
  • Best of any streaming services Jan 11, 2021

I love this app — I watch something from it every day. There are an astounding number of shows available at no recurring cost to me (I wait through 45 seconds of ads during a show’s normal commercial break). Other streaming services (cough cough Disney, CBS, etc. cough cough) have nearly everything trapped behind a paywall, and honestly I can’t afford 6 dollars here, 5 dollars there, every single month, to four or five streaming services. Frankly I do not want to sign up not only due to budget but from principle: when the writing hit the wall with companies pulling shows from Netflix to move them to their own premium streaming services, I said then that I wouldn’t sign up for multiple premium services because I saw it as the companies’ greed. And I don’t have to with Peacock, because they make so much available while being so reasonable with their consumers. So because of their model, this is one streaming service where I actually would sign up for premium just to support them.

I installed this app for one reason - Olympic coverage. Horrible experience. The user interface is incoherent, making it difficult to navigate. Content is poorly organized into highly-edited chunks instead of continuous coverage of events. The stream quality is horrible; it takes more than 3 minutes to buffer before 1080p is achieved. If Peacock is hoping to gain subscribers through this presentation, they've failed. If you want me to pay for content, there are 2 rules: 1. Make the content easy to find and consume. 2. I will not pay you to deliver ads to me. Paid service? No ads.
  • The Olympic coverage is awful. Jul 30, 2021

    By 76blaze
I have had peacock ever since it became available on Samsung smart TVs and have had. No complaint. The only bad thing about it is finding movies. On the app there is a lot more to select under each genre. On the tv itself it only has limited movies listed. You can still find them but have to type them in. So I usually use my phone to see what all is available and then go to the tv and find it. So I probably would give 4 out if 5 stars. However, the Olympic coverage is horrible. I was so excited to be able to watch the Olympic Games since we don’t have regular tv anymore. However, I feel like we are being cheated of the Olympic experience. If you’re lucky enough to find something you’re looking for, they don’t even show all the athletes. For example in women’s gymnastic teams events they only showed USA and Russian athletes. No other nations. Not even a glimpse. I would like to see more than just us. Then we couldn’t see the medal ceremony which is one of my favorite parts. They don’t have commercials but they have a big space where the commercials are and they play nothing. So you have to just sit there or fast forward. It’s horrible to navigate through. There’s no schedule and no livestream. It’s awful. I feel like I’ve missed everything with these Olympic Games and am very dissatisfied. It’s too late to fix it now but I certainly hope things are fixed by the Winter Olympics.

User interface is clumsy. It's surprising hard to determine what item is selected for viewing. I got this for one reason only, to watch the Olympics and have not been happy; low quality stream, missed action when coming back from commercial break, and buying the upgraded membership just means that you get to stare at a screen that says "coverage will resume shortly" during scheduled counterculture breaks. I never thought I'd miss commercials, but seriously, staring at that screen is killing me
  • Terrible tvOS app May 29, 2021

    By HMK48718
If I could avoid using peacock, I would, but there are too many good shows. However, it is still a painfully bad experience. On iOS/iPadOS there is no Picture in Picture support, which is very annoying, and sometimes the audio breaks and I have to exit the thing I’m watching and reopen it. That is annoying, but not too bad. tvOS is the real problem. It works terribly with the new Siri remote. Normally you can go back or forward ten seconds, but with the new Siri remote there is no way to do that. Clicking the forward and back buttons will bring up an orange symbol to go back or forward 10 seconds, but it won’t do anything, and it won’t go away until you tap somewhere else on the remote. If I had this problem in any other app, it would be slightly annoying, but I would just use the normal method of swiping (or rotating with the new circle gesture on the new Siri remote) to get where I need to go. Not only does peacock not support the new circle gesture, the swiping is terrible. This is probably the biggest problem with peacock. Tiny finger movements that would get me forward or back 4 seconds or so in the Apple TV app do nothing. But as soon as I start swiping my finger enough for peacock to react, it moves too fast for me to get even close to what I want. I can end up full minutes away from my target. This has been a problem with the old and new Siri remote, and it needs to be fixed.

No renew button for downloads? WHAT?WHAT?WHAT? All the popular apps have a renew button instead of having to re-download the entire show or movie. Might want to fix this if you want people to stay. I'll be canceling by the end of the month if it's not fixed. Update__also noticed that your downloads can only go onto your internal and not an SD card which is also something the other popular apps let you do. Quality of life matters. Thanks.
  • Peacock TV?! Yeah right. Apr 15, 2021

    By The_Real_Big_Boss
So they bought out WWE Network, they segment the shows and present it like garbage in comparison to the previous app and then I try to watch a show, whilst containing as much rage as possible only to find disappointment. THE APP DOESNT SUPPORT HDMI PORTING! How can you have “TV” in your name AND NOT SUPPORT A WELL KNOWN AND QUITE COMMON TV STREAMING DEVICE?! “Peacock IPhone/Android” should be the name, otherwise it’s just false advertisement - if I can’t stream to my TV, this is the biggest digital wooden nickel situation I’ve ever found myself in. This is horrible. If you’re going to buy out the main streaming service to something that has a full blown culture behind the profession, then do your best to support it or otherwise give it to someone who has the gaul or even the slightest intention to do so. I’ll tell you one thing, my family can’t watch a cell phone together and it’s unreasonable to expect something so asinine. For such a selection of material to watch, I honestly can’t believe in 2021 this is an issue. Peacock “TV” - false. This is frankly pathetic and I won’t be renewing my subscription, hopefully someone who cares will do some justice to this completely ridiculous fumbling and vague handling of the term “TV” - television, as in NOT A PHONE. At best they’ll fix it because people had to complain, at worst WWE will have to stay with them and they’ll find some other way to be completely dysfunctional with an appropriate requisite. Dense.

This app generally runs good for movies. But the cast icon remains inactive in the background . I'm unable to cast the movies to my TV. It's a flawed app if the features do not all work . I tried calling the helpline but discovered that there is no customer service available for peacock tv. I will be canceling my subscription at the end of the month.

Bought the full subscription for the Olympics just to find out that this is the worst streaming service. Period. "Ad free" means there's just a blank card saying the content will return in place of said ads (usually for 5+ minutes). All Olympic replays are delayed for days, so if you miss an event, you can't watch it for several days, and there is absolutely no editing of said replays or any other valid reason for these delays given. Avoid this service if at all possible.

  • Constant changes in quality and content Aug 17, 2020

    By 8432789
I am a day 1 user, waited months for this app at first never had any issues in my Apple TV or iPhone but now it’s constant errors.

Some problems make it not worth it Feb 8, 2021

Can’t watch at home except for on my tiny phone screen because the idiots who run this thing decided to block me from using an hdmi. Not worth paying for if I can’t even watch it on a proper tv.

Crashes regularly and this doesn't seem to be an issue I have with any other streaming service. Search is a joke as you can't search by topic or category like fashion or documentary. You can't buy seasons, only subscribe to premium and there is no way I'm paying for something that crashes every time episode. If you can watch it on a different app then that's the way to go.
  • Rather clunky app Dec 18, 2020

    By St. Bozman
I am late getting the app. But after having it for about 4 months I am surprised by how poorly the app is designed and works. Take searches, very slow, and doesn’t automatically load suggestions as you type. Also, It is the slowest app on my iPad to open and load, I almost think it crashed with just those 6 dots floating. But then the app loads, only to take a long time to switch to another screen, like when browse is selected or opening settings. One would expect a better user interface and faster app coming out of an entertainment/tech company. Feels like the app isn’t a priority. Would be nice if it allowed for multiple “users” like spouse and kids as we like different shows. Lastly, they should re-think commercials. I’m not against commercials and like them if it means affordable subscriptions. But the commercials are too long. It’s not the good old days of network tv. They should redesign how commercials work for the modern age. Right now I just look at my phone during commercials. So, my conclusion is that it’s an app to go to when there is a show you want to watch, ie: Yellowstone, but not an app you GO TO to find something to watch. Good luck. You’re behind the eight ball and other apps are doing this a lot better.

I actually generally like this app but I subscribed primarily to get access to live sports, track and field but also Olympics. However, things playing on NBC or nbcsn I can't watch on the app. If NBC is carrying it, I have an expectation of being able to watch it on the app and it is disappointing when I can't. It would be nice if they at least explained why... licensing? Agreements with local NBC or cable? Just because they don't want people to stop watching over air TV? Frustrated.

Horrendous video quality, even for paid subscribers. A lot of the Olympics highlight videos are near unwatchable and the same exact videos on YouTube look great. Same issue with live events, video quality starts out looking horrible and doesn't improve for 3-5 minutes, or not at all. Not a network issue on my end, all other streaming services work fine.

Signed up for premium plus to watch the Tour de France now that NBC Sports Gold's cycling pass is no more. Now it costs almost monthly what the other service cost for an entire year. The biggest issue besides that is that it knows how far you were in a show and says "resume", but whenever you do, it will always start from the beginning. The interface seems to be improving, but you end up having to rely mostly on the search functionality.

No ads.

  • Clunky, slow app. Not gonna pay just for the Office. Feb 9, 2021

    By CTCVA
I love The Office. And Parks & Rec. But there are just way too many steaming services now and paying for all of them to watch one or two shows is just ridiculous. So I’m not paying for this one. The free content on Peacock is abundant, but it’s mostly shows that no one wants to watch or that you can watch for free on the Hallmark Channel or wherever they now show Murder She Wrote. Not exactly cutting edge programming. If this was an excellent app, I might have been interested. But it is clunky to operate, not very intuitive, and slow. So. Slow. It can take 5+ minutes to search for, find, and start playing a show. All while I’m watching those little rainbow dots go in circles. And the app freezes and crashes a lot. Not usually during a show, but definitely a lot while navigating the app and searching. We have super fast internet (more than a gig in speed to our house) and have no problem getting Netflix or Prime to load fast. Even CBS All Access is faster. Personally, I hope we will soon see consolidation in this space so we can see our favorite shows without having to subscribe to a dozen different services. And as those apps compete against each other, Peacock will not be a winner. NBC, you gave it a try. Now I hope you will license your best shows to Netflix and let us watch while you earn royalties for doing nothing.

The app is extremely slow. It takes forever to load and gets stuck switching between sections. I was also led to believe I would be able to stream the Olympics on the app. While I can watch popular events a day after they take place, there is no live streaming and you cannot watch any sport or performance. The only saving grace is they have good content available to stream.

Terrible app. - Doesn't remember where you stopped watching. - No good way to navigate play lists. - Crashes frequently (wait about 2 minutes). Usually have to kill app and restart each time to pause or rewind a few seconds. - Terrible interface, important buttons are small, unimportant buttons are large. - Pressing backspace on a search term from history does weird things, I need to type the whole thing instead of editing the number, and I have to use search because playlists are so bad.
