Some problems make it not worth it Feb 8, 2021

The app has some great shows and it cool that you have an option to have it free. But some of the free stuff isn’t all that good but there are some good stuff with the premium is so I got premium. Anyways what I don’t like is how sometimes I can watch a tv show and i go onto the next episode and I’m half way into it then I get off the app and go back on and then it would show that I’m on like the episode before that one which is annoying so then I would have to look up the show to find my episode again . Like why can’t y’all just leave me off where I was. I also don’t like how it takes long for things to load sometimes and how there are some episodes of a show have a time limit left on the app, like why do that if someone is trying to binge watch a good show. Also the adds are way to long like I think 15 seconds is fine but anything more is just dum. The app is really modern so I don’t know why it has these problems . I’m not deleting the app because it isn’t the worst But I hope you make better changes. I don’t see how that would be to hard.

I am a day 1 user, waited months for this app at first never had any issues in my Apple TV or iPhone but now it’s constant errors. Most recent is just solid black screen with an outline of the channel schedule instead of puss in boots error screen occasionally. They also took away the office channel quietly a couple of days ago. Changed the reality tv “in it to win it” channel (that had huge variety in programming) into deal or no deal for over a week non stop 24/7. Just rename the channel already after nearly 250 episodes straight it’s officially the deal or no deal channel! I assumed okay maybe after they play each episode in the series I will get to see something new, sadly they just stared over from episode 1 again. Same episodes of kitchen nightmares (season 1) have been playing non stop for 5 days when it’s KN evening time block and the profit season 1. This didn’t used to be the case! There would be a mix of several seasons. I was thinking about subscribing but these are pretty major and sudden changes that make no sense. They were also what I used the app for 99% of the time. Went from being my #1 app to deleting and resubscribing to CBS all access who instead of taking away content added over 200 season of different shows last week.

Best streaming channel. Ads are fairly added in a highly professional manner and don't repeat. Great shows, many high quality choices free. Easy to watch unlike some channels that are choppy and throw in a heavily repeated commercial anywhere in a program, even mid-sentence. My favorite entertainment source. Very well executed, directed and presented.

Add Picture in Picture, audio descriptions & autoplay cancel. I really want to love this app. I even paid for the commercial free version, because I love NBC so much. The content is great. Unfortunately, this app is lacking in several accessibility features. Additionally, it needs different user profiles, so that I can have a watchlist that I don’t share with the rest of my family. It will not allow me to do picture in picture, which means my shows are interrupted each time I open a message to reply. I am very disappointed that there are not audio descriptions available for most shows. People with low vision or blindness, this limits access to some great television. Finally, I have tried to work out how to cancel autoplay as a default, but I can’t seem to do it. If I do not physically tap the screen before an episode ends, the app will automatically play the next episode. This is especially frustrating if I fall asleep watching a show, only to wake up with a whole season over. Again, I really do want to love this app. Every other streaming service I have allows for picture in picture, as well as autoplay camel, and most have audio descriptions. I hope peacock gets these features soon!

Don't use this app if you don't have unlimited data. If you're not using wifi to use this app, you'll use all your data plan up within a week (depending on your data plan) and it's not available on any fire stick/TV. Only issues I have with this app! So until they resolve these, a 3-star rating is all I can give.

I subscribed to this when it was first launched and have an annual Premium Plus ($10) subscription. I had not been watching much after some movies were pulled without warning before I had a chance to watch, but I was happy to see that you’ve added notifications in regard to the number of days left to watch movies and TV shows. The movie catalog has probably doubled, and there is a good mix of movies and TV shows. Compared to other standalone subscriptions, this is fairly priced, it is worth it to me to pay a little to have the ads removed. I am really happy that there is now support for Roku. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews, especially for a free product. My only complaint is that navigating the categories in the main menu takes some getting used to, i.e., having the watch list under browse doesn’t seem logical. I hope we continue getting more movies from the archives. I think this service is off to a really good start. PS - The original programming is good, I really liked Departure

Great App, opaque user interface. Takes a while to figure out how to use the controls. Forces trial and error, hasn't invested in any kinds of controls navigation aids. Still figuring them out. 5-star streaming app once they figure out the ergos. Great library of content to choose from.

Go team 🌈Peacock 🦚 for providing AWESOME content — all my favorite Bravo shows, every season, even every season of Bethany’s spin offs! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I also love the variety of Indie movies with great celebs and directors! 🥳🥳🥳 Now — the problem with playback. When I watch Peacock on my TV through my Xfinity connected set top/DVR cable box, everything works fine. No problems with the time tracking, (ie if you are 30 mins into watching the program, it accurately displays the progress). BUT — while watching the same show or movie on my iPad or iPhone (not necessarily picking up where I left off on one device and watching it on another — that works great and is an awesome feature!), I can be 30 mins into a show, yet the progress bar is stuck on the time from the last commercial break. Then if I try to rewind, it makes me watch the entire commercial break AGAIN. It has happened where I wind up being forced to watch more commercial time than actual content time in one 30 minute show!! Also, sometimes I will get all the way to the end of a program, and it won’t auto start the next episode. Any progression feature (rewind, FF, etc) tapped will trigger ANOTHER commercial break!! Lastly, can’t you remove commercials altogether for premium subscribers? Hopefully this progression issue gets fixed QUICKLY 🙏🏼🙏🏼! It’s REALLY ANNOYING to have to sit through so many commercials every time you rewind!!

I love this app — I watch something from it every day. There are an astounding number of shows available at no recurring cost to me (I wait through 45 seconds of ads during a show’s normal commercial break). Other streaming services (cough cough Disney, CBS, etc. cough cough) have nearly everything trapped behind a paywall, and honestly I can’t afford 6 dollars here, 5 dollars there, every single month, to four or five streaming services. Frankly I do not want to sign up not only due to budget but from principle: when the writing hit the wall with companies pulling shows from Netflix to move them to their own premium streaming services, I said then that I wouldn’t sign up for multiple premium services because I saw it as the companies’ greed. And I don’t have to with Peacock, because they make so much available while being so reasonable with their consumers. So because of their model, this is one streaming service where I actually would sign up for premium just to support them.

  • Peacock TV?! Yeah right. Apr 15, 2021

    By The_Real_Big_Boss
So they bought out WWE Network, they segment the shows and present it like garbage in comparison to the previous app and then I try to watch a show, whilst containing as much rage as possible only to find disappointment. THE APP DOESNT SUPPORT HDMI PORTING! How can you have “TV” in your name AND NOT SUPPORT A WELL KNOWN AND QUITE COMMON TV STREAMING DEVICE?! “Peacock IPhone/Android” should be the name, otherwise it’s just false advertisement - if I can’t stream to my TV, this is the biggest digital wooden nickel situation I’ve ever found myself in. This is horrible. If you’re going to buy out the main streaming service to something that has a full blown culture behind the profession, then do your best to support it or otherwise give it to someone who has the gaul or even the slightest intention to do so. I’ll tell you one thing, my family can’t watch a cell phone together and it’s unreasonable to expect something so asinine. For such a selection of material to watch, I honestly can’t believe in 2021 this is an issue. Peacock “TV” - false. This is frankly pathetic and I won’t be renewing my subscription, hopefully someone who cares will do some justice to this completely ridiculous fumbling and vague handling of the term “TV” - television, as in NOT A PHONE. At best they’ll fix it because people had to complain, at worst WWE will have to stay with them and they’ll find some other way to be completely dysfunctional with an appropriate requisite. Dense.

Worst app I've seen in ages. Signed up via the web browser on my phone. But then unable to sign in on the app. Reset password. Uninstalled, reinstall. Still only able to sign in with website but not app. Tried to sign up via the app. Said the account already exists, please login! After reading these other reviews I'm cutting my losses early and tossing in the towel. Shame on you NBC/UNIVERSAL! This is an embarrassment / disgrace to be with by such a large company! Fix yo app!
  • Clunky, slow app. Not gonna pay just for the Office. Feb 9, 2021

    By CTCVA
I love The Office. And Parks & Rec. But there are just way too many steaming services now and paying for all of them to watch one or two shows is just ridiculous. So I’m not paying for this one. The free content on Peacock is abundant, but it’s mostly shows that no one wants to watch or that you can watch for free on the Hallmark Channel or wherever they now show Murder She Wrote. Not exactly cutting edge programming. If this was an excellent app, I might have been interested. But it is clunky to operate, not very intuitive, and slow. So. Slow. It can take 5+ minutes to search for, find, and start playing a show. All while I’m watching those little rainbow dots go in circles. And the app freezes and crashes a lot. Not usually during a show, but definitely a lot while navigating the app and searching. We have super fast internet (more than a gig in speed to our house) and have no problem getting Netflix or Prime to load fast. Even CBS All Access is faster. Personally, I hope we will soon see consolidation in this space so we can see our favorite shows without having to subscribe to a dozen different services. And as those apps compete against each other, Peacock will not be a winner. NBC, you gave it a try. Now I hope you will license your best shows to Netflix and let us watch while you earn royalties for doing nothing.

Absolutely terrible customer support. My subscription to Peacock Premium completely disappeared when I payed for it through the Google play. I emailed for over a week trying to get everything sorted out, sending screenshots of proof receipts and even in their own app evidence of my premium subscription, yet they still don't do anything about it, saying that I will have to resubscribe through chrome, cause subscribing through the app won't work because I already have a subscription. Terrible app.
  • Rather clunky app Dec 18, 2020

    By St. Bozman
I am late getting the app. But after having it for about 4 months I am surprised by how poorly the app is designed and works. Take searches, very slow, and doesn’t automatically load suggestions as you type. Also, It is the slowest app on my iPad to open and load, I almost think it crashed with just those 6 dots floating. But then the app loads, only to take a long time to switch to another screen, like when browse is selected or opening settings. One would expect a better user interface and faster app coming out of an entertainment/tech company. Feels like the app isn’t a priority. Would be nice if it allowed for multiple “users” like spouse and kids as we like different shows. Lastly, they should re-think commercials. I’m not against commercials and like them if it means affordable subscriptions. But the commercials are too long. It’s not the good old days of network tv. They should redesign how commercials work for the modern age. Right now I just look at my phone during commercials. So, my conclusion is that it’s an app to go to when there is a show you want to watch, ie: Yellowstone, but not an app you GO TO to find something to watch. Good luck. You’re behind the eight ball and other apps are doing this a lot better.

So I loved this TV app when I first downloaded, HOWEVER! My family and I would have loved to pay for premium even though it does constantly kick us off shows/restart all over again, with that being said; The only other 2 issues I do have is one; the fact that Peakcocktv- DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS ONLY DEBIT CARDS for premium especially Chime. I had high hopes for this app compared to Tubitv/Pluto.The second issue is that fact that for premium you have the choice of 4.99/9.99 adds included.
  • I wish I could give this app less than 1 star Nov 8, 2020

    By 749602715
This app is a complete cash grab. They decided to split up Premier League coverage between Peacock and NBCSN. So now you need two different subscriptions to watch games. To make it worse, you can’t stream from your iPad or iPhone to your television. It’s just completely baffling to me why they’re making it harder to watch these games. I remember being so pleased with NBCSN’s coverage of the premier league when they first started a few years ago. Now, I can’t wait for another network to pick up the deal. The constant division of all these apps you need just to watch your games/shows is exhausting for the consumer. I’m sure in a few years NBC will come out with yet another app requiring another monthly subscription. “Download Peacock 1 to watch the first half of this soccer game, and make sure to download Peacock 2 to watch the second half!!! Each one is only $7.99/month!!! Post match coverage will be on NBCSN Gold, so make sure you’re subscribed to that as well, which is on top of your subscription to NBC Sports!” Meanwhile NBC is wondering why people pirate everything online. I know I’m just a lowly consumer, but I think if you make it easier to watch what we want, that’s how you gain customer loyalty. NBC is doing the opposite of this. Thanks NBC. Very cool.

I wanted to love this app so much (due to all the shows available to watch) but it is too glitchy. I can't finish one episode without it stoping or glitching throughout. The interface needs some serious work. The app skips to the next episode while in the middle of watching something and when you try to go back, it makes you restart. The app for the tv seems to work better than the app on the phone.
  • Decent streaming service, TERRIBLE app Sep 26, 2020

    By kevintstephens
The streaming service itself is decent, but this review is for the app specifically (both iPad and Apple TV). For some annoying reason, the app uses its own player rather than the iOS one, which means you can’t use any of the iOS features such as Picture in Picture or AirPlay. When I have a keyboard connected, I can’t use the space bar to play or pause like I can in pretty much every other streaming app. If I pause the video and use another app and then come back, it can often take up to 15 seconds for the video to load again before I can play. My biggest complaint with the app/service is when auto playing the next episode, about 70% of the time the next episode will start somewhere in the middle and I have to manually rewind it back to the beginning. It’s a good thing I’m only re-watching a show I’ve already seen multiple times before so nothing gets spoiled for me, but if I were watching a new show and had something spoiled because of this bug, I would be very upset. All things considered, once I finish watching the show I’m currently watching, I’ll be canceling my Peacock subscription. The content available to stream does not outweigh the numerous annoyances and complaints I have with the apps.

  • I like the content , but the steaming is not good. Jul 19, 2020

    By Bluegrass bandita
My streaming has been pretty terrible with this app for a couple of different reasons at different times. Things will start good, I’m able to cast, the show or movie starts playing, but within about 10 minutes or so, the sound and the subtitles are out of sync with what’s going on. It’s truly annoying because I have hearing issues anyway and I sometimes try to read lips and I rely on things syncing up. The second issue is that some programs just will not cast with my Chromecast device. It say that it’s casting, but then reverts to my I-phone or I-pad. I really like the large variety of programs and channels that you offer. I truly hope that you are able to get these glitches worked out in the very near future.

Peacock has great content in fact it’s my number one streaming service but the app is very buggy it constantly crashes and the most annoying thing of all is when I’m mirroring to my chromecast it doesn’t automatically go to the next episode when watching a tv show, its super frustrating I have to open the app and it usually crashes so I have to force close it a couple of times every time I wanna go to the next episode, and why do I have turn the subtitles on every time? Can’t it be set once and for all like other apps? please fix it 3/5/21 update: today’s update fixed the above issues I’m giving it a 5 star rating as I have no further complaints about my experience with this app. Thank you

It’s free guys there are some bugs but overall haven’t had an issues other than in my airpods the audios bad for commercials but what do I care there commercials. I enjoy the streaming and its quality it’s able to keep up and not pixel out like many other streaming apps there might be bugs but it’s free and has a lot of shows I cannot get on other apps for free overall love the app and love the way it’s designed very well done Also with the Apple TV that’s a problem that happens with many other apps so it’s not surprising that the 4.99 movies your getting for free are not working Thank you for making the app it’s amazing and works wonderfully really do enjoy it

I live in Alaska and have had no issues with the app. I run it through my Apple TV box and there have been zero glitches. I pay the $9.99/month which isn’t a big deal, most people spend more than that in 2 days getting Starbucks every morning. The $9.99 is worth it to unlock everything, the only ads I have seen are 15 second promos before a show or program begins. I have watched multiple shows and programs and there have been no ads once the show starts. They have the complete catalogue of many shows, I love Law and Order, every episode of SVU and Criminal Intent is on there, the last 8 seasons of the original Law and Order is on there as well. In terms of original content “The Capture” is must see TV, one of the most original shows out there. There are several other original content shows as well that I well check out. My minor complaint is that it is a bit user unfriendly to navigate at times. But they can clean that up. This is well worth the $9.99/month, my number one streaming app right now.
  • This is the best free streaming app I’ve ever encountered. Nov 2, 2020

    By The iTunes Fanboy
This is the best free streaming app I’d recommend for those who want to stream for free. Although not all of it is free, you get enough content that you don’t really need to upgrade. One pro is that unlike other free streaming services like Tubi, it has free content that people actually are familiar with, such as 30 Rock. The ads are not as bad as cable or IMBD TV, either. You also get Peacock channels, which although it isn’t the most essential feature, and it will be nothing like real live TV, though. Overall, if you want to stream for free, I’d highly recommend Peacock. Also, the app is very user-friendly.
  • ROKU FINALLY AVAILABLE BUT YOU CAN STREAM FROM COMPUTER TO TV VIA HDMI USING MICROSOFT EDGE BROWSER Sep 21, 2020

    By JoyWLHM
Streams great on iPhone, iPad and laptop, had absolutely no streaming problems, but not optimal choices for viewing. UPDATE: USE THE MICROSOFT EDGE BROWSER TO STREAM VIA LAPTOP TO TV VIA HDMI!! Just waiting for Apple to release their new TV device and will switch to Apple TV from Roku, as Roku no longer seems to be a viable option, as Roku doesn’t support HBO MAX. Peacock has an excellent lineup on the premium tier, and the interface is excellent. Finally on Roku. Subscribed to premium tier today. Will still be switching to Apple TV device when they release their new one, as I don’t appreciate how Roku has treated us over these new product releases.
  • A lot of people have these problems as well. Mar 26, 2021

  • Updated - Getting better all the time Dec 6, 2020

    By cmm472

  • LOVE the content, but problems with playback Sep 14, 2020

    By RoMoBenCeasDee

This can easily head to the top of the streaming game if they squish little quality of life bugs. Channels are a great idea, and I love it more than I thought it would. The “comedy” channel needs actual episodes though, not a series of 3 minute clips from various series. I want this channel with full episodes of The Office, Parks and Recs, 30 Rock, etc. I’ve had to connect my Xfinity account at least 3 different times. For some reason it disconnects me from my account and boots me back down to a “free account”. Very frustrating when I am trying to watch later seasons of The Office (on either my phone, web browser or Roku), and I have to find a computer to reattach my Xfinity account. A “Skip Intro” button would be really helpful so I don’t have to hear the same theme songs over and over. I don’t know if this is a bug or on purpose, but it is annoying having to always re-sign in to start watching. I am sometimes booted out in the middle of watching, and have to wait a while before I am able to log back in. This is especially annoying when I am watching channels, where I am unable to rewind. Again, the app has great potential. These small things need to be fixed for it to rise to the top of the streaming game.
  • Work in Progress Jul 22, 2020

    By Ang57mac
After watching a complete movie a clip from another movie began to play in the background and would not stop. I could not not play another video until I signed out of the app, deleted it and then reinstalled it. All this on the only device I could stream to my TV on: Apple TV 4K. There is not enough content not found on other services to endure this for. I will cancel after 7 day free trail. I want to amend my previous review. A few bugs still remain, but most have cleared up. Full screen for newer movies and shows on Apple TV 4K. Auto play. Occasional loading issues but backing out and going back in works fine. Customer support answers emails very quickly. Very few commercials (less than 1 minute at beginning). I will probably be a regular streamer.
  • Good with two issues Apr 16, 2021

    By Hollyelese
I enjoy this app a lot but I do want to mention two issues that hold this app back. 1) No automatic episode advance option - we should have a way to choose in settings whether or not we want apps to advance automatically. I like to listen as I go to sleep, and sometimes I wake up again bc the show is still playing 8 episodes after I went to sleep. It should cut off way before that but an option to cancel automatic advance should also be a given when other apps have it. 2) Episode history - I’ve seen it in other reviews but I have also had issues leaving the app and coming back where I left off. Also switching devices can be an issue with holding my place. Not a deal breaker but can be annoying.
  • Excellent Content, Easy to Use Jul 15, 2020

    By vdrake1457383
Peacock has a lot of great features and excellent content. Any cord cutter will find value in this app, and loading it into your Apple TV. The channel line up feature is a great way to watch the news or your favorites when you don’t know what to actually play on demand. Other users have pointed out the poor layout of the app, and I do agree that is the improvement point required for a four star review. The endless scroll of the listed channels is brutal. The notation of the feather for premium content is a good way to show users what other great is available without shoving it down their throats or tricking them. Streaming platforms are tough and I thought Peacock would not have a successful launch. Looking forward to other reviews. I’m a fan.
  • Good App!! Mar 5, 2021

    By dndjskdbjs
Let me start off by saying that I really love Peacock and I love all the watching options. My family and I lived that we could all watch Saved by the Bell, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Harry Potter, and much more! Although, there were a few things that we thought could be added to make it even more spectacular! For TV shows we thought that there could be a skip intro button. We also thought that profiles would be useful, so when we are watching our favorite shows at different times, we don’t have to go to different seasons and find the episode we were on. We could just continue with one click of a button. Other than those few things, I think that this an amazing streaming service and I really enjoy using it!

Biggest issue I have is that your watchlist is a part of the browse tab. It’s nearly impossible to find. The watchlist should have its own tab. It needs to be quickly accessible instead of having to dig through other content. Other big issue is the paywall. For $4.99, you unlock nearly everything but have to deal with commercials. For $9.99, you get some extras but there are still commercials on some things (which they claim are required). Kinda dumb. But there is a 1 week trial for free. Other than that, it’s ok. You get 1 free episode of their original content (rest are behind the paywall). Feel like they should do 2-3 free to make people more interested in potentially subscribing. Showtime content is also behind the paywall.
  • Constant changes in quality and content Aug 17, 2020

    By 8432789
I am a day 1 user, waited months for this app at first never had any issues in my Apple TV or iPhone but now it’s constant errors.
  • Add Picture in Picture, audio descriptions & autoplay cancel. Jan 27, 2021

    By Crichelle

  • It’s nice that it’s free Jan 23, 2021

    By theGrendel13
Peacock has some mediocre shows and movies on its platform with only a few hits. Now that Comcast has acquired the Office, Parks and Rec, and few others, it makes the app worth downloading. Some of the downsides are that when opening the app, it always begins with the trending section which isn’t tailored to the users likes and dislikes. It displays only what Comcast deems to be important and can be biased towards mainstream media. Also, when watching and finishing an episode of a tv show, it doesn’t automatically play the next episode of the show you are currently watching. So you have to re-enter the app, which opens with the trending screen again, therefore you accidentally click what’s first on the trending page and lose your place in the show. It’s a tad irritating. It would be nice if Comcast would just allow you to continue to watch episodes of the same show and only stop it after an amount of time, similar to Netflix. If they fixed these minor bugs, I think the app would be a lot more streamlined and better quality.
  • Good selection but needs updates Feb 6, 2021

    By Subssjb
The show selection is great! I haven’t had any issues streaming. Here are the things I think need to be updated: 1.) add a skip intro button PLEASE. It’s not terrible but just annoying to have to watch the intro every single episode (especially while binging). 2.) While using a Chromecast, the app automatically disconnects after one episode. If I’m trying to watch the office, I have to go into my phone, reconnect to the chromecast, find the new episode and re-cast it. Super annoying. 3.) CLOSED CAPTIONING/SUBTITLES: They shut off after almost every episode. This is extremely inconvenient for deaf people like my mom to have to realize “hey they’re talking and i don’t know what they’re saying” to see the subtitles shut off. Please make it so once you turn subtitles on, they stay on for all content on the app until you turn it off! EXTREMELY inconvenient. 4.) I like that it starts pulling up results as you’re searching but it would be more helpful to have search suggestions as you’re typing in case your result isn’t showing up!
  • Decent service, real poor app quality Sep 30, 2020

    By Hän C.
First off, I do love the peacock service - I appreciate the shows available and as I pay for the full subscription I’ve been enjoying the content without ads. The streaming quality has been good for me. I do agree with another reviewer that the reload time is obnoxious, if I pause the video and come back to it. Pausing and returning usually takes the video back 15 seconds which is very frustrating. Also, I’m frustrated that I can’t have the app running in the background while doing something else on my phone. Netflix lets me turn my phone off and just plays the show as audio, which allows me to listen to the show without draining my battery. This seems like a very basic user functionality that all apps should have these days, but I understand that if the app was maybe rushed to production that it’s not there yet. I would appreciate this being fixed for an update. I also wish the app had a homepage where I could save shows for later. It’s frustrating having to remember what I was interested in or having to use the search bar every single time I want to find a show. I also would like an option to hide the main page, which currently shows news and stuff like that. It should be a customizable front page or I should be able to hide the news/sports so that they’re not what I see when I first open the app. I will keep paying for this for a few months in the hopes that the app will get better.
  • Good content, terrible layout Mar 14, 2021

    By Anita Weenah
As a sitcom enthusiast, the content here is probably the best in regards to the other streaming services available. This is, of course, subjective and I’ll let others judge for themselves if the content is for them or not. Something that isn’t subjective is the awful layout. It’s also been fairly clunky switching between the top tabs. Multiple devices and other people share my sentiment. The overlays during currently streaming content are huge and intrusive. The constant nag screen asking if I’m still there is absurd. I can’t stress enough how all streaming services need an option to turn this off. HBO Max definitely got this part right. Video quality of the streams could also be better. Again, no settings to change any of this. I pay for good internet, at least give me the option to get the most out of it. In summation, the content of the service is 5/5. The structure, layout, and functionality of the app is 1/5. Long way to go. Figure it out.
  • No Feedback offered Oct 5, 2020

    By SuziRox
No customer service or contact for feedback ... but has no issue taking my money! I’m writing re: my Roku Insignia TV 1. I can’t tell what program I have selected - I know it’s a soft white cloudy hue around the box with the program title listed - - but it’s still really tough to see and my mom can’t see it at all so she just presses ok and the wrong show starts. 2.How do you get to episodes of a show without streaming the show first? I just want to open it and see the episodes. So instead I go to my watchlist and open the show from there ... 3. My watchlist is missing more than 1/2 the shows I added. Last night I fell asleep watching law and order - so I just wanted to open the episodes to see where I am (see point #2). Law and order used to be in my watchlist and now it’s gone ....a bunch of shows are gone. 4. In the HISTORY of NBC I guess there has only been 45 comedies (15 rows of 3) Why oh why is Roseanne listed on the front page of “Just For Laughs” I hated that show and still do. Is there a way to “Thumbs Down” or “stop showing me this crap show” - you make me seriously wander about the amount of content you have 5. Can I go to TV shows and click Genre? Instead of finding your cheeky name for a genre? Same with movies. Do you not offer this because the amount of content is so low? 6. Seriously - how much content do you actually have?
  • App Works Good on iPhone, Not So Good Elsewhere Aug 19, 2020

    By Long John 1964
I enjoy the shows I can watch on my iPhone. Great selection, and plays back anything without a hitch. However ... ... I also like to play videos on my much larger TV. Now we have a problem. My iPhone 11 Pro Max running the latest version of iOS refuses to play any videos from this app on any TV. It will still play on my iPhone, while the TV shows a freeze frame of where I started the video. The audio comes from the TV as it should, though. When I try to play a video on my TV from an older device, it doesn’t play on either screen, though I can still hear audio from the TV. It still plays on my device properly while not plugged into a TV. I have several other streaming video apps, and all work the way they’re supposed to. Peacock is the only one that doesn't. I was hoping the latest update would fix this problem. It didn’t.
  • Could use improvements! Jan 31, 2021

    By rubyreddottie
I do like the amount of shows/movies available on Peacock and of course I love the no commercial option! I personally haven't had any streaming issues however the whole app could definitely use a revamp. The "channels" option isn't set up in a user friendly way. I wish I could get a channel list and what is on each channel not just what is currently playing. As others have stated, the search option doesn't come up with shows I know are on Peacock when searched for. I think Peacock could take a page out of Hulu/Netflix/Discovery+ etc.'s books. Also, the "browse" option doesn't give you much to browse. There are only a handful of options in each category when browsing. It should break it down by browsing newly added shows/movies and perhaps categories (comedy, documentary, history, etc).

Canceling and just going to buy the office on DVD. Everything freezes all of the time and it's not my internet because I travel quite often and it still freezes. Alot of times peacock just bounces me out of what I'm watching and back to the menu of shows screen and won't let me click on the show I'm watching so I have to constantly restart it and the subtitles are too small. Also the way you guys did the office on this compared to Netflix is garbo. And that's the only reason I'm here..

The app functions are horrendous. No "continue watching" option, episodes that will automatically change to the next will start at the very end if you try to go back and watch them again, even though it automatically starts the next episode before the current one is done. And it's very bulky looking, very unpleasant to look at. Extraordinarily disappointed. Only keeping it because of good content, but will probably unsubscribe if it's not improved.

The app looks clean but there are many features it does not have or things that are annoying about the app. A few of these things are that there are not personal profiles like netflix which makes it hard to have as a family. The only reason I gave the app 2 stars instead of 1 is because they have a couple shows that I like. There are also ads on the premium subscription. The trending page is pointless and just adds an extra step. Don't even try the free or 5$ subscription because it replays ads.

I got this app to watch Rich Eisen. His show is live, but I am not available to watch until about 1/2 way through. I prefer to watch beginning to end. The live broadcast ends at 1pm, but it is not made available to replay until late evening or in some cases the next day. When I 1st began using the app I had frustrations a plenty and hoped the bugs would get worked out before The Rich Eisen Show stopped broadcasting on TV. I don’t see that anything has improved from when I 1st began using the app until now. This app seems to have a wonderful catalog of movies, sports, old tv shows and The problem is, you get about 7-10 minutes in and the buffering begins. I am then informed that I am not connected to the internet. This is while I see all WiFi bars light up. I am then informed I should try a premium membership. Each time I open the app I see so many programs to watch, but it ends in heartbreak. This streaming service looks great, but it doesn’t work. And don’t tell me it’s free and the suggest I purchase premium version.
  • Not Ready for Prime Time (but we are forced to use it) Sep 20, 2020

    By jrscassady
I have been using the app on my iPad and Apple TV since it was released. The app freezes regularly - some of which require navigating away from the stream and back in order to rectify, others which self-correct. This is especially frustrating when watching live sports (I subscribed to Peacock Premium to have access to English Premier League streams). EDIT 9/20: I had no problems 9/19 and 9/20. I would increase to 3 stars except I saw too many people on Twitter and Discord with the same problems I had in the past - including the significant delay which Peacock emailed me was a technical issue limited to 9/14. The app excludes NBC Sports despite NBC Sports Gold being replaced by Peacock - leaving sports fans with having to check multiple locations for content. NBC should migrate all NBC Sports app contents to Peacock and allow users to log into their cable subscription in Peacock to unlock access to that content. A single NBC content app would make for a better user experience.
  • Lacking compared to all other streaming services Oct 4, 2020

    By fcftuvbu
I’ve never written an app review before but NBC is forcing us to watch Premier League this way so hopefully they can improve the streaming options to match other live streaming services. The live stream has been ok but they need to add the ability to pause/rewind/FF like most live streaming services offer. Also having the ability to join an already started event live or have the option to start at beginning would be a big improvement and again this is the standard in today’s streaming services. The only other issues i have is the speed of searches can be very slow and when you browse for Premier League replays and select one you don’t get the button to play. I’ve found that you have to perform a search to find the replay you want and select it that way to see the button. Both the browse and search seem to go to the same screen but only through search do you actually see the button to play it. Rob

Dense.

  • I wish I could give this app less than 1 star Nov 8, 2020

Thanks NBC. Very cool.
  • Decent streaming service, TERRIBLE app Sep 26, 2020

Can't believe I subscribed to this service for a month. Nothing but problems on the mobile app. Streaming is not smooth and I constantly have to wait during the episode every 30-40 seconds for it to load. I've never had that problem on any other streaming apps. Unsubscribing and uninstalling.
  • Garbage Service for Football Fans Apr 10, 2021

I signed up for peacock as a way to watch the “best” matches in the premier league. Over the past 3 months, I’ve barely been able to watch any. The only matches shown are the lower league dwellers. Why pay for games I don’t even want to watch? What happened by showing all the mouth watering games of the prem? Unfortunately without cable or an alternate cable service there is no way to only watch the premier league. ESPN crushed it with their low cost service of serie a, bundesliga, European qualifiers, etc. but NBC can’t seem to put aside its greed. Although NBC’s prem coverage is arguably the best coverage of all leagues in the US. ALSO, let’s talk about the technical aspect of peacock. Firstly it doesn’t work on my chrome cast which is a huge bummer, either I need to start up my PS4, laptop, or I’m stuck on handheld. Secondly it buffers like a madman. Ultimately this is not the solution. The premier access app was much better. Keep football separate from all the nbc nonsense no1 wants to watch. People will gladly pay 5-10 bucks for an all encompassing premier league only app. At least I would, just cut the fat and give people what they want. Till next time nbc. Just dumped your app and service as it serves no point in my life.

The streaming is okay. Haven’t had issues. I have issues with them imposing the app on us in order to watch the Premier League. How is it that so far we’ve HAD to stream to watch the champions of England play 2 of the top teams? The biggest games should be available on TV where the majority of people already pay to watch the EPL. Putting them on the Peacock app is pretty upsetting and likely an attempt to boost their subscriptions to justify putting more big games on the app after NBCSB Gold failed. Additionally, I can’t even use air play because it’s restricted and there’s no app for my 2019 samsung tv. Having a toddler and crawler, we keep wires hidden and out of reach. So, airplay alike is a must. But if I want to watch this on the tv, I have to bring wires out and end up spending half the time keeping the kids from grabbing the wires or pushing buttons on the laptop. Pretty big waste of money if you ask me. They pay insane amounts to win contracts to get the rights to the games but then want us to pay additional for the big matches in addition to the main channel that’s supposed to show the best games. ....It’s like if I pay for HBO but then forced to pay extra for Game of Thrones...oh, and I wouldn’t easily be able to watch it on my tv.

Paid for premium and downloaded shows for offline viewing. First time using it, it wouldn't open. Not even to a home screen. A message telling me to connect to the internet does no good when one is away from internet. Complete fail. Glad it was during the trail period so it didn't cost me any money. Seemed to work OK when internet was connected. Too bad it sucks for downloading for offline viewing. It had potential, but I'll spend my money elsewhere.
