Yes, i am a teen using this app. And yes, i do deeply hate this app. However, i do understand it’s purpose and it does it’s job very well. This review is solely to try to fix some bugs that really inconvenience me every day with this. The main bug that is that whenever my phone gets disabled, it turns off notifications for everything. I understand not getting notifications when i’m not supposed to. However, when it gets reenabled, i have to go through all of my apps and reenable the notifications. Also, with some apps like Instagram, it completely removes the option to turn notifications back on. I can fix it by reinstalling it, however the same problem occurs whenever my phone gets disabled and reenabled. I don’t completely know if this can be fixed without affecting other things, however, it would be amazing if the developers that make this app could fix it. Other than that, the app does everything it was meant to do. It is a well designed and developed app, with very few bugs. In fact, i can’t think of any other bugs off the top of my head. As i said before, i really don’t like the app, but does any teen that this app is being used on really enjoy it? It does its job finely, and the developers deserve props for it.

Many kids being monitored by this app give it a bad review and I agree with some of them. However this is a great app and definitely serves its purpose. Although apps do get rearranged and it is inconvenient to have to turn your time on every time you use your phone it really helped me become less attached to my phone. One thing I would definitely advise thinking about before you get this app is why your child is using their phone a lot. I was a 14 year old when this app was installed on my phone when I was caught up at night on my phone and using it constantly during the day. I personally don’t really enjoy staring at a screen all day but I was on my phone a lot because I was talking on of my closest friends out of suicide almost every night. This app limited my access to doing this and could have potentially killed them. If you know why you kid is needing these restrictions and they are not on their phone for a good reason this is a great app to help control the amount of screen time they use. I also would consider using this app as a training tool and not just for a forever thing. This app helps change mindsets and once this happens the app is no longer needed. Please give you child a chance to prove this after using the app for a period of time.

I’ve gone through a lot of the reviews, and honestly it sounds like a bunch of spoiled children crying about how they don’t get what they want. Yes, it can be annoying. Why have a phone when you can’t use it when you want? It’s so you can actually have an actual LIFE outside of devices. If your parents are always on their phones, and you feel it’s unfair, I get it. I have that situation too, but there are plenty of other things to do to keep busy. And I’m on the older teen spectrum that has this app being used. If you’re on the younger spectrum (middle school and lower), I suggest you give it a chance and ask your parents for some help understanding it. Trust me, it makes a lot more sense as you’re older and have work, school, and are learning to/already can drive. The only issue I have with this is the fact I have to organize my home screen through the app rather than how I normally might. I get it’s probably to stop kids from deleting this app, but it’s quite annoying to fix everything when my deleted apps (a lot of the pre-downloaded ones I don’t use) still appear in the app and not on my home screen. It’s something I can get used to though.

This app does exactly what parents would want it to do except for one thing. Usually, when the app is set to turn back on all my apps at 6:30, it does not. My parents will have to manually go on their app and try to fix it because it won’t turn back on automatically. If my parents are busy and cannot turn them back on or are driving, I’m stuck at school without apps I need for school that most of my teachers use daily such as Microsoft teams or TeamSnap. This could potentially be a big problem because I’m on a couple sports teams at my school and if I can’t get any notifications, I won’t know if my bus has left or is leaving and my friends have no way to tell me. If you are a parent that isn’t busy and has time to turn the apps back on then I would recommend the OurPact app to you, but if you are constantly driving kids around or are busy to the point that you are often unable to access your phone then I would highly consider finding a different app. If you don’t believe me or think it won’t be an issue, try the app out and if it works for you, it works. But if you notice some issues such as I have then try other apps and see which one works the best for you and your kid(s).

This app is the bees knees! OurPact is my favorite app to drive my kids nuts when they're bratty and now I don't have to hear them constantly complain about settings being g blocked or worry about them using Bixby to get around blocks! - 10/10 The screenshot feature is also pretty crazy, my kids can't even tell I'm spying on them!

Me being a 13 year old and having this app for about 4 years I have a lot to say. If we don’t listen to our parents than poof! All of our apps are gone. Doing this makes us mad and angry. Parents think that using this app will make us “less addicted” to our phones however it is the complete opposite! I constantly find ways around it saving videos to my phone etc and going on it whenever I can. It’s made my addiction to my phone much worse. Another thing is that during the ios14 update knowing me I wanted to customize my apps and add widgets to better help organize my phone. But the OurPact jr. doesn’t allow you to fully customize you phone and knowing me, I always customize my phone to the best I can but it’s very limited. I often find glitches when I first turn on the app it often freezes and I have to power off my phone. It may seem like I’m a kid who only wants her phone but that’s not true. I am a very athletic kid who loves soccer, running, and being with friends and having connection issues when traveling or going places with my friends is always embarrassing and quite annoying too. I always have to ask my parents to give me access for school apps that are turned off. When I was in school I wasn’t even able to get apps because there was no connection. Overall, to me it seems like it’s app has gotten me very upset and angry with my parents for having it in the first place and I believe that over the years this app has caused a strain in our relationship.

This app is pure rubbish!!! And dangerous if you ask me. You set certain time parameters and expect it to turn off at the designated time and it does not. As a result my child repeatedly had access to the the internet all day!!! I wish I could give this app a rating of zero!!! Don't waste your money and purchase this app!!

I am 16 years old, yes I repeat, 16. AND I STILL AM FORCED TO HAVE THIS APP. I understand the concept of having this for younger children under the age of 13, but even then this app is unreasonable. My parents are able to track my location, and block my apps whenever they please. I can’t step out of the house without my parents asking me where I’m going and what I’m doing. If I don’t do something my parents ask me to do right away, my apps go “poof!”. I’ve had this app for 4 years and never once have I seen a reasonable justification for using this app on children. Parents who use this app think it’ll make their children “less addicted” but honestly it just makes us more annoyed and rebellious. Maybe instead of using a temporary solution, look into the real reason they use their phone a lot (if they even do). My parents don’t bother to try and bond with me, so I bond with my friends on my phone as it keeps me happy. I wish my parents would just try and listen to me but they don’t. I’m a straight A student, I do sports and stay fit, yet my parents don’t trust me enough to time manage my phone. At the end of the day, this program to take away your child’s apps won’t do anything. It will cause more resentment, anger, and disappointment because your child really does have a reason to be on their phone but you’re too controlling that you’d rather rely on an app than actual parenting skills. Thank you.

  • Best App Ever Made! May 11, 2018

    By AshMoody3811
I am a mother of two boys ages (9) and (14). We have been struggling with screentime rules in our house. The kids always find a way to sneak on their phones. This app completely blocks it all and allows us to have communication and family time. It is amazing. Also I saw all the kids brilliantly posting on how to disable this app. Let me in return help all the parents. On iPhones under settings>general>restrictions there is a passcode you can set up that doesn’t interfere with the passcode the kids already have on the phone. It is completely separate. Once you pick a passcode you can go into the phone and manually disable safari and make all games and music age appropriate. Also you can go to account changes. Then click the lovey little option that says accounts, then click beside allow changes. This will no longer allow the child into the settings of the phone to delete this app. They will be frozen out of it. Hope this helps all of you parents out there! Keep fighting the good fight!

  • Needs updates, otherwise the app is great!! Sep 17, 2020

    By .kenna.
Hello, I have had Ourpact for about 2 years now. I think that this app is great for parents! I must say it’s not my favorite because it disables all of my notifications but I can see how it is a good app for parents. I think as a parent it is great to know where your kid is and to punish them when they do something bad (by turning off their phone or certain apps). But, I am not writing the review about all that. I think that Ourpact really needs to update some things. There are a bunch of apps that don’t load in Ourpact and they can’t be sorted into a certain place on your screen. I also think that Ourpact needs to keep up with the IOS updates. The IOS 14 update recently came out and I don’t like how I can’t have the new widgets out on my screen. I think that we should have the ability to move around the stuff on our screen without having to go into the app. I really dislike how the app disorganizes everything you change once your phone turns off. Other than that the app is absolutely great! I hope you take my ideas into consideration! Thank You!!!

  • An objective review Feb 20, 2018

    By Iland dreamer
I’m monitored by OurPact but I’m leaving this review as objective as I can- because I want others considering this app to hear a non-biased opinion from the “victim” side. It’s very effective for restricting your children’s access, which, for the purpose of this app is great. It can remove everything, from safari and Siri to the notes app and camera. I would consider though the safety risks of removing per say the notes, camera, or safari app. Though it seems like in an emergency you’d only need phone capabilities but I’m assuming a child is being monitored who uses a iPad over an iPhone. Kids are smart when it comes to emergencies. When I was 10 years old i was alone and got locked out of my house and figured out how to download a online phone application through the AppStore. I don’t know what apps you can selectively control but if you can I’d keep restrictions light on things such as safari and the AppStore if your planning to restrict your child’s iPad or unserviced iPhone. Overall works great with a few bugs. If I were a parent who valued control this would be the best approach.

  • I’m not a fan Apr 1, 2020

I’m not angry as much as some kids I’m 13 btw and have been stuck with it for a couple years. however like many of them said it is a little too restricting for teens although this is the age that it would be needed for me and other people my age like to sneak around at night and I get that, maybe have options on what you want to restrict would be nice or something to customize on the parents side. This is what I can say as a kid and I’m sure that with the parents if there are more issues like this or what not. However tip I deleted the app with multiple devices using it and the first ones got rid of it and the last one got stuck with it, I can’t guarantee that this still works since i did this over a year ago but u can give it a shot if ur that desperate. And it is seriously ANNOYING that it messes up ur apps order each and every time, I use the folder/box method to organize however each time it screws it up every time the apps are shut off. I have given up on organizing for the past year but a little fix couldn’t hurt. I have to give credit to the creators for the app so far but you still have some things to work on.
