    I find NordVPN a great service. I researched long and hard to see if there were any definite winners, and there were not. I think the biggest problem is potential conflicts of interest with the various reviewers. Still NordVPN seemed to come out at or near the top in most of the reviews, so with that I decided to give them a try. This is my first try at a VPN service, as such, so I am far from an expert in his area. I was looking for basically three things 1)ease of use, 2) security , and 3) speed. With NVPN I have been very pleased with all three, but there is a little room for improvement. This could easily be a stellar 5 Star service if they tweaked their client apps a bit. I have a 60 Mbps Internet service. My normal worst case is to drop to 20 Mbps. This sounds terrible, but it is not as bad as it sounds IMO. By switching to a different lightly loaded server, however, my speed only drops to around 55-58 Mbps which is basically imperceptible. Some of NVPN’s client apps make it easy to locate and select a nearby lightly loaded server and others don’t. It is important to seek out a good server if you are getting a real performance hit, so if NVPN would build this manual capability into their clients, through filtering etc, they would be exceptional and definitely 5 Star.

    Hard to fault these guys. Speeds are great and they finally have Wireguard support which really reduces battery drain too. Price is right if you wait for a sale. Just wish you had anonymous data reports disabled by default. I realise it's anonymous but it should still be set to off by default. You lose 1 star for the latter. Thanks for SmartDNS. Nice to see you're always trying to improve.

    I paid for a 1 year subscription and use this app on my XS and on my PC. I use the option to let the app to choose the closest server. Nord VPN lags my apps on my phone, which is extremely annoying when using my phone for shopping in town. I often have had to wait for more than a minute for coupon apps to load and specific store apps to load content now. Some apps became so slow they wouldn’t load content at all making them useless. While aware that VPN slows connectivity slightly due to encryption, this is the first one I’ve used that creates such an issues that that I notice a huge difference. On two different occasions I’ve had to reinstall because for some reason Nord disconnected, the app and my phone won’t store my password for the app, which wouldn’t matter anyway because when I enter the password in, the app tried to log on then logs off, as if the password is wrong. I check several times, the pass isn’t wrong. Uninstalling and reinstalling immediately fixes this. For the most part I have no issues on my PC with this program. Every now and then it will disconnect and then just not reconnect again, leaving me offline all night. This isn’t something I have experienced prior to using this on my PC.

    Update* I cleared the cache no problems with downloads anymore, however for the past several weeks I am getting logged out of the app at random and recently becoming more frequent (logged out by itself 3 times this week). Not sure if it is a bug or what but I'm considering trying another VPN... I want to upgrade my subscription through the app and continue to pay with google but no option to do so. Tried google pay on the website but press 'pay now' nothing happens

    I’ve been using NordVPN for almost a week. The VPN provides great, fast internet connection that has almost no impact on latency or speed of any kind, from web-browsing to streaming to even playing video games. I love that one account allows me to use it for 6 devices, so I have one for my iPhone, one for my laptop and one for my PC. Again, no latency issues or speed impacts when I play Modern Warfare or some of my mobile games. So why 3*? That’s where I become annoyed with the inconsistency of the VPN connection. So it works great when it works, but for whatever reason when the connection to their servers suddenly stop, the whole crashes. From time to time on MW, I can see it rubbernecked and I’ll start teleporting several feet from my position. On my iPhone suddenly I get drops in connection, and my whole WiFi stops working. I have to turn off then turn on my WiFi on the phone to get it working again. I also noticed that if you stop using your iPhone and leave it on idle, when you wake it up/use it again, the VPN shuts off and has to turn back on again. It’s very inconsistent when VPN stays on.

    The app was good the first week I had it and it's been all downhill from there. I was having to disconnect and reconnect to get it working and now it won't hold a connection for more than a few minutes which is incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to watch a tv show using a US connection. I'm ready to cancel my subscription and take my money elsewhere.

    I trialed this app for a day and decided to cancel. You are instructed to login to NordVPN to cancel subscription. App Store doesn’t let you cancel the subscription when it hasn’t been activated (during trial). NordVPN login page takes to an insecure site on every browser so I was unable to login. This was in May, and we are now in November same issue. I believe this is a deliberate setup so you cannot cancel. On May 18 I emailed NordVPN support to inform them I want to cancel, and deleted app in App Store. NordVPN didn’t not reply. On May 31st App Store charged me NordVPN annual subscription fee and I did not receive any notification of this fee. I didn’t realize until November and raised a refund request to App Store to be informed by their robot this doesn’t qualify for a refund (presumably because eit was requested outside of 30 days). I contacted NordVPN support and provided to request a refund but got the runaround. They state I have to go to App Store for refund and insisted they replied to my email on May 18th (they did not). I left thinking that this was a scripted response to a scam setup designed to fleece trialists out of $91. They must be aware that the App Store policy is flawed and run by robots and they can get away with this fraud and App Store won’t penalize them. If you happen to trial this service make sure you request apple refund within 30 days of the fee being sneakily added to your account or you will be left in the same boat

    Like so many others, I'm forced to log in every time I use the app. Today it actually logged me out while I was connected, killing my connection and bypassing the kill switch. It's been broken every since Nord started pushing all their extra bloatware. Nord was great when I signed up, but I'm just going to let my subscription lapse. This is horrible.

    Not always protecting you! The application does not function if it is not up to date and you won’t know it is not functioning until you realize the lock icon is not showing up at the notification bar on your phone (I just don’t like my apps auto update). I just don’t know how long I had been nuded! Also, my login information was gone after the apps updated. I had to enter the password again after update.

    I bought this vpn service a while ago but didn’t star use it till a month later and figured out it wouldn’t work for Asia countries: the internet was super slow to an unusable extent I asked for a refund they give me a firm no telling me that it passed 30 days. They walked me through a whole long complicated process to fix the connecting problem with Asia websites and then the next month when I try to use me computer to connect to my university library it just wouldn’t work and the reason is all the weird settings they have me done with my computer to get NordVPN to work. I just cannot tolerate the hassle anymore and they won’t give you refund anyway. The plan is for 3 years so basically you paid for 3 yrs for 0 services. Beware before you pay it doesn’t work well it may disrupt with normal functioning of your computer. The support team replied, but be ware they never solve your problem, neither will they provide you a solution. It’s always take longer to “babysit” the vpn than really using it. As mentioned in lots lots of reviews I saw, mostly of the time you paid for 3 yrs of zero service. No one has the time to trouble shoot for 1 he every time they want to use VPN. I only use it a few times a month and already spend most of the time trouble shooting, need my money back but couldn’t get it back.

    After seeing some bad reviews I nearly didn't download this app. I gave it a go anyway and even subscribed for a month to test it. It works perfectly and I was instantly connected to HBO Max from the UK with no issue. Don't listen to the bad reviews, guys. Give it a try and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how good this app really is. Thanks Nord.

    I’m not a paranoid person, but I also don’t want to get burned for being naive. I did a lot of studying before choosing a VPN, and NordVPN has been giving me peace of mind, especially when I’m utilizing free WiFi at a cafe or hardware store. People ask me, “You have unlimited data! Why do you even connect to those routers?” Typically, it’s because I need to utilize some feature they’ve built into their system (to get you more connected with them in another way). There are certain sites or apps that this will slow down. Its not a glitch. It’s actually revealing as to what those apps really do when it comes to tracking your location or monitoring public use. Sometimes, it does slow down because of some communication issue somewhere in data path, but I either just keep going until it speeds up again, or I disconnect from my WiFi and reconnect. Then, it goes back to normal.

    Have been using Nord VPN for about a week. It’s my 5th VPN and so far, LOVE IT!! Customer support is excellent, fast to respond and go above and beyond, to assist. My cell is hacked & I needed a good VPN, to do anything on my cell. The hackers already broke through multiple VPN’s. Nord stopped a Hacker already and was the 1st VPN to do that. If I could double the stars given, I would. A great VPN, excellent support, can be used on multiple devices. Catches & stops Hackers. What more could you ask for? Very happy with my purchase. Plus, it has plenty of countries to choose from, numerous places to connect. Also gives you the load and the distance. I normally don’t write reviews but did this time in case someone is looking for a good VPN. I have an iPhone that is not supposed to be able to be hacked, but it is. If anyone else is concerned about privacy or being hacked, check Nord out. They even send very useful, tips. So far, I love this VPN!!! A++++++++++++

    When I purchased my NordVPN subscription it was mainly for my PCs, so the phone app was a nice extra that I would occasionally use. Initially it was almost more trouble than it was worth, however over the past few months the devs have pushed a significant number of patches for the mobile app. These patches have improved performance, added features, and just overall really improved the experience. I don’t generally write reviews, but the devs definitely deserve praise for this one. Initially I would have given it 3 stars - not great but not bad, a useful app that had problems. After all of the changes, easy 5 stars. I do wish it was more clear what is being used for DNS. I have adjusted the DNS settings on my phone, while connected does Nord inherit those, or simply connect to their DNS? That’s my only very minor gripe, keep up the excellent work!

    Easy to use, safe and secure. Look for a promotion before signing up to save yourself some dough. If you can’t find one go with this VPN anyways. (I gonna say it so brace yourself) “I work in IT for a living” and after researching for reliability, price, cool features (aka advanced functionality) and supported platforms... this was the best service and the app is very easy to use. If you are new to VPN, just select the country you want your traffic to flow through and enjoy your data secure traveling. I recommend using the auto select feature as it takes your location into account and will aid in finding you the fastest server to connect to. Also, you can leave it running but as your traffic will require some travel I find it’s better to turn it off when you’re streaming or performing task that you don’t care people can see.

    ****update****.....I signed out, deleted the app, restarted the phone, and re-downloaded and signed back in. Cities and correct distance are now working. While I’m glad it worked...this step should not have been necessary to get it working properly. FYI Im running iOS 11.4.1 on an iPhone X. Latest update...?? No cities listed when the 3 dot button is pressed for United States. Also, every server in the United States shows 6 miles from me which obviously is wrong. This has not been fixed in several updates. Finally average speeds have been dropping on MANY servers over the past couple of months. Please keep up and focus on quality of experience as your subscription base grows, I love Nord VPN but if I’m being honest...lately it has been frustrating, attention to detail seems to be lacking in several recent updates. Thank you for a great product, I have faith you will fix these items soon!

    I love Nord VPN but I’ve been getting an iMessage and a text message when people text me for awhile now. The iMessage and text message are identical, saying the same thing on my iPhone. I have unlimited texts but for some people they don’t have unlimited texts. My son complains because on his end when I text him it goes to him as a regular SMS text message (in green) and he has an iPhone too and he should be getting an iMessage (which is blue). iMessages are encrypted and regular SMS texts are not. Also on my Mac I have to login to Nord VPN every time I use my Mac. They fixed that on the iPhone which is great. I have a 3 year subscription and really do love this app. It’s one of the best VPN’s for sure! If the 2 glitches above could be fixed, that would be Awesome. I deleted the Nord VPN app for a short time to test a free VPN in the App Store and it did not send a duplicate iMessage and SMS message so it is the Nord App. Thank you

    I bought a 3 year subscription to this service since it seems to be the best deal going. So far everything has worked great on several of my devices and if they are being truthful regarding their privacy policy then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. There are some small quirks which are kind of annoying but not deal breakers. Obviously some websites are completely unreachable through a VPN like these, even if the server is in the same country where the website is at. For me Bank of America doesn’t work at all through the VPN but all other bank sites have no problems. Also, this thing totally degrades any kind of carrier wifi calling. It is a garbled mess when using wifi calling with the VPN and you are simply better off turning off the VPN before initiating a wifi call.

    I come from PIA vpn thinking this one would be faster. I was wrong , I tried both a different DNS on both app and in connection settings and still have slow connection. Or a connection that just stops anything I'm doing. I really hope they can get some servers in better places in some states. Or just fix this problem.

    Good VPN, But after trying it out, I learned it was a little to good to be true in terms of when it comes to streaming Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ etc........I also didn't know that your unable to use Google Chromecast, and being limited to the fact your having to use your smartphone to stream movies and shows and cannot cast onto a TV. So NordVPN, it would be a really good idea to post these facts on your tech support website.

    I’ve had my NordVPN since June and it has been great. Had no issues with it and I was very happy. Now all of a sudden over the last few weeks, the app has become absolute trash. Often takes forever to connect, forces me to close out of the app and reopen it, forces me to delete the app and reinstall numerous times just to be able to sign in. A new thing developed over the last few weeks too is it likes to sign me out of my account and then tell me my info is wrong. It won’t connect to a server, I go to the app and realize it’s because it randomly signed me out. I try to login with my credentials and it tells me it’s wrong. I’m able to sign in on the website with my credentials just fine. I delete the app and try again and still won’t work. Usually have to delete it a handful of times and wait an hour or so and then will let me sign back in with the same credentials I have been trying for the past hour. Not sure what they have done with the app over the last month or so, but it’s seriously trashed the functionality and ease of use. Getting pretty frustrated when I need to use my VPN daily at work and I have to sit here for an hour jerking around with the app because it won’t take my credentials.

    So far, I've spent a full day trying to get the android app I've enjoyed for years to just sign on. I chatted with your tech, signed on and off your web site and removed the app and re-installed it. progress? ZIP, ZILCH AND NADA. The update really seems to have finished the app off. UPDATE: The workaround seems to be to NOT install the update. I now use a device that didn't update and everything's fine. This saves my having to waste time with a "helpful" Service Dept. while chasing my tail and getting nowhere. I'll live with this until my service agreement runs out.

    At first I couldn't click on hyperlinks without pausing connection, which I could deal with. Then my phones internet browser would freeze before loading as if the wifi couldn't be recognized, and I would pause again. But now I can't receive MMS messages to my phone? How could this possibly be creeping this much further into the regular usage of my phone? At this point it's more of a hindrance than an asset

    I’ve had Nord for a while and have been in contact with support about issues and they never resolve it. The app is so poorly made. It is unreliable in many ways. Once you’re connected, if it stays connected, then it is usually fine. I’ve left reviews before and always been asked to contact support. That never helps so I won’t be doing so again and will be using an alternative once my subscription is up. The company has responded to the above review asking for the ticket id from when I contacted support. There were at least a few times I contacted them but I do not have the ids anymore. Honestly, any potential customers of Nord vpn will likely not see this as there are many reviews of the app but if you do just make sure you do your research. I was going back and forth between Nord and a few others but got a really good deal on Nord (I know they are always having “sales” but this was better than I’d seen and it drew me in). I regret the decision. However, I am one user and while there are plenty of other very low reviews for Nord, there are also good reviews. My experience with Nord and their support has been enough to obliterate any possibility that I ever give them another dime.

    I'm in Canada. Don't waste your money. Consistently freezing requiring me to disconnect. Often hangs while connecting. If you need something that works when it counts try something else. Imagine.
