It's characters, graphics, and the story is just amazing but the fighting is also amazing if you don't wanna do anything. Like you really don't do much but walk around (24/7). It has potential but personally I thought it was gonna be more like Genshin Impact's fighting style but it's more like Honki Impact, if the hitting was automatic (which I don't like). Do keep in mind I've only played for about three days so there are a few things I haven't tried yet, like the pvp arena thing.
  • Story is ok, gameplay is a bit boring Aug 8, 2021

The theme of exploring weapon stories is cool and seeing stories playout is really neat. But the “game” part is really boring since for the most part you can put it on Auto and the game plays itself. The auto feature is mostly useful because you will have to grind a lot, and sit through 10-15min of auto play per round for your grinding. Since the story is stronger than the gameplay, this would have been better if it was not a game but an short story anime or something. But since it is a game some QoL improvements at minimum would be, not sending back to title screen if stamina is full and you try to send/receive stamina from friends. If a level/battle has already been completed auto should just auto complete the battles; should not have to sit through 10–15 minutes of having to watch each battle play until you run out of stamina. Adjust material and stamina requirements, grind is fine but the price of some upgrade materials is too much. Only with half stamina events does it make it easier to grind for things you need. And since you have to mostly auto play they really need to implement a way for the screen to stay on instead of defaulting to your phones auto screen off. So many other game apps override the settings to keep the screen on, but you have adjust your auto lock settings.

"A new update is available, please update the game via the store". Fixed itself shortly after I posted my review. Game is amazing but there are too many bugs. Force closing when I open the store (not sure if it still does). Game fades to black when I click on the ads then doesn't load the ad until the second try. Randomly force closing itself when I launch the game every now and then.

The graphics and music are quite beautiful and are perfected, but there's, of course, the problem of being new. As such, the game is very raw currently, although I expect it to get better. I love the scenes and world, however not being able to control your camera angle is... strange. I would much rather be able to control it, or have it only be auto-controlled for cinematics where you still control the character. Then again, maybe I have to beat the last of the four first missions first. Battling is also strange, as combined with the not being able to control your camera, you also only control skills and general movement, attacking and dodging(why?!) are automatic, making the game seem much more like an idle game since you even have an auto mode. And combined with the fact the first two things I get access to in the menu are an ad reward spinner and a gem gatcha for things I cannot use, I simply cannot rate this more than 8/10 stars. First impressions are what decide wether someone will play the game or not, and I'm geniunly dissapointed with what they did. Of course, maybe I'm asking of too much for a free mobile game, and have high expectations for it as it's an offshoot of Nier: Automata.

This game is... uneven. Combat: aside from being able to chain attacks combat is done for you. Characters: all original. Familiar chatacters are guest collaboration with no impact on the story. Gacha. Bad. Rates are abysmal. They gave us a huge amount of currency at launch but that time is over. Very very scarce now. You need to pull 4 copies to max out a unit/weapon. There is a pity every 200 summons.

I pre-ordered this game and played it for about a week before deleting it. My initial impressions were a mixed bag: the game itself was a beautiful combination of Monument Valley, Sinoalice, and a (somewhat) traditional JRPG. However, due to my unfamiliarity (at the time) with gachas and the complexities/oddities of the mechanic - and the game itself - I just found it a little overwhelming at the time. However, after months passed by and I inadvertently became more familiar with gachas - courtesy of Punishing: Gray Raven and Genshin Impact - I decided to circle back on NieR:R and boy…I sure am glad I did. Now that I understand gacha mechanics I now have a far better vision of how this game works. With this confusion cleared up it’s like a fog lifted, thus revealing the other elements of the game that I didn’t fully appreciate at the time, such as the awesome characters/weapons, the beautiful world, and the dark but lovely storytelling. I am a huge fan of this game now and am thankful I gave it a second chance.
  • NieR gacha I guess? Jul 29, 2021

    By Wexfordqreettr
I love NieR. I love the characters the storytelling the MUSIC. It’s all some of the best out there in. I do games. This game definitely has the music part down pat. Apart from that it really is kinda just another gacha game. You use gems to summon new characters (if you’re lucky/an unapologetic whale) and then you level em up with materials you grind for. Seriously if you’ve played ANY gacha you’ve seen what this game has to offer mechanically before. And I’m sure to some people that’s fine. But if you’re like me you’ve been burned out by these games and the repetitive slog they become before long. I knew nothing about this game before downloading it. Not really sure what I expected it to be but it honestly was not Another Gacha Game™️. Yet sure enough when I got into the game it showered me in the usual log in bonuses of enhancement materials and free gems. Speaking of gems I noticed the game differentiates between free and paid ones so…that’s always cool to see. Who knows though? Maybe this game will blow my freaking mind and grinding to level up my characters for end game content I’ll need to follow a guide to the letter for will be fun and worthwhile this time!
  • Gave it another try… Aug 31, 2021

I admit I was a bit bias when I initially gave this game a 1 star. I was playing all these action RPG’s and it was definitely a change of pace and interaction… Now that I’ve given it another try and understood the system a bit more; as well as got a blessed reroll acc; it’s actually an engaging game, but very grindy. It CONSTANTLY requires your attention if you want to take advantage of everything. Stamina in this game recharges really quick compare to other gachas and there is abundance of stamina pots. Given that I started my adventure 30 days into release, I guess I shouldn’t be complaining, since it gave me a fighting chance to buy the important items in all the event shops (all three of them at the same time!). If I had start on day 1, I don’t think the event grinding would be this overwhelming. Gacha rate depends how curse your account is… my first account can barely get three 4-star in over 200 pulls, while my current main account can get a purple pull on average every 2-3 (10X) pulls. Once things calm down and the game is still enjoyable, I will give the game a 5 stars.
  • EN Gacha rates reduced by half Aug 21, 2021

I’ve been playing the JP version of this game since it launched and through the banners I’ve never had a problem getting something worthwhile, at least one purple(weapon or character) within 10 rolls. The 4* rates in JP are 4% not 2%. So far in over 200 rolls, I’ve gotten four 4* weapons and one 4* character, plus a pity character. In comparison, in the JP version I’ve gotten 12! 4* weapons and maybe six 4* characters in the same amount of time, making building a party I like easier to assemble and build. I have built up only 1 character on EN version and that’s the A2 event character. Additionally they have added a get(a tiny amount of) gems in exchange for watching a minute long video. The time wasted watching the video is not worth it personally since most time you’re gonna land on the 10 gem one. Gameplay is the same in both versions, which is why I’m giving this a 3 rating. Predatory gacha practices when being localized for the West always ends up being put in. Then the game fails within 6 months here. It’s ridiculous.

It’s a quite rare gacha game that not too much focus on requirements to spend a lot of money and time investment while being a Nier series, what make me surprised about it that the dialogues and quality of the story is great. Since this game is considered new on global market, I believe the game has a better potential if they have more activities and things that could give it a better go. It’s probably higher than quality than most FF games on mobile from SE that I know and play so far. The combat seems great and high quality, wish Nier Gestalt or Drakegard should have some version of the games on mobile, console, or PC platforms. Personally, I think limited games on other platforms somehow low down the intentions for this type of game. It’s technically one of the heavy titles that would explode your phone devices, so i recommend that a console port or PC should be greatly appreciated.

It's a seriously heavy gacha game. They trick you with purchases. To do 10 summons it cost 3000 gems. They show a pack with 2940 + 180 free gems. So you think that's all I have to buy for 10 summons. Well that's not the case. You can't use free gems for x10 summons. So you only get 2940 paid gems. Which means you have to buy another pack to be able to summons x10.. gotcha! Sucker! Is the way it made me feel. It's dirty don't support deceptive practices like this. I'll never spend again here.
  • Has potential, but currently nowhere near worth playing.. Aug 2, 2021

The music and storyline is pretty good. The visuals are unispired & washed out. Character design is absolute garbage. I cannot even FIND the game's mechanics. I'm sorry to have to say all of that, as I have been a *huge* Square-Enix fan for as I can remember, but I've been so disenchanted playing this release over the last week, hoping that something of merit would be kicking in "anytime now", but it never came. You will be fighting the same handful of amorphous blobs from Chapters 1 - 9. The underpinning vibe I get, is one that I feel most people have, unfortunately, come to expect from the mobile gaming franchise: it's a system of paywalls/stat checks with just enough content to keep you trudging toward the next hurdle. Still, I've played many mobile RPGs/Gachas over the years which are built around that same basic framework, but manage to pull it off with some flair, and enough substance to keep me engaged. This just isn't one of them. I can toss the devs a pair of stars for some of the story elements, and the music, but unless this project undergoes a transformation of, "No Man's Sky" proportions at some point, I don't see myself coming back to this one. In its current form, I honestly can't even recognize it as a Square-Enix product.

The storytelling is good, character designs are on point and graphics are really pretty. However once you are done with the main story which doesn't take alot of time the side quests are extremely grindy. Which is understandable and I don't mind. The main reason for 2 stars is there is a bug that makes the game crash upon opening and looking ar reddit forums it's not the first time, after a week the bug is still there, can't open the game but hey new content got released today...

Gameplay is non-existent with auto walk and auto battle. Can't describe the actual grind too much because as soon as I got stuck I got bored of the game. The only thing that kept me going was NieR in the name of the game and the story. As for the event grind, I basically launched the game in BlueStacks and let it grind the hardest stage of the half-year anniversary event for a day to max out the event Fio and her weapon.

Probably one of the slowest to react, considering how Square's reputation is concerned. They don't fix the bugs that are associated with game crashes and the errors when trying to start the game. More importantly, the feedback section crashes, so what is the use. Moreover, there is a ton grinding that is not worth it because the drop rates are too low, and the stamina costs which can be a major issue. Perhaps most of all, the balancing and recommended level does not match. I don't reccomend!!!

One star for being a gacha trap and mindless powerfarmer. The stories and music are nice. The Cage is scenic but the experience depends on your phone. Quests are redundant, become autofarms quickly, and progession depends entirely on luck from pulls. In fact the game is held back by being gacha. Didn't get the right weapons, right elements, or right character/dupes? Get ready to be stuck until you get what you need.

Hi, dont mind the concept. Unfortunatly this game only makes me miss FF Mobius, while nier is not as good... yet. Unfortunatly with my Note 5, i can not play beyond the minimal graphic setting , this makes crows hard to find and less enjoyable as it will lag heavily beyond the minimal settings. I would like to see skips of sorts or a 3rd auto speed be implemented in the future. Thanks, wish i could give a better review, i had high hopes comparing it to FF mobius, my bad.

Wait until they fix the Android 11 issue. Day 1 was fine and I was enjoying the game. Went to play day 2 & the app won't start. Tried multiple ways of getting it to run w/o success. I feel very cheated. Update: Aug 1 update did not fix the problem. Update: Sept 16. Still can't play even though SE claims to have fixed the problem. Game prompts me to install an update from the Play Store even though my game is up-to-date. (Still out my money too.)

Game has plateaued at this current stage from all the free they have given out & rushed it to catch up with JP events & updates, none of the character events are long enough for you to achieve them all based on current drop rates($h!t) & shards to bookmarks is ridiculous i.e. 170 shards left then they converted but is 80$ really what I NEED to spend to buy a character I really want while achieving nothing for the last (3)10x summons? Gems? They stop coming in, make them cheaper or give more.

Fun game, Some levels get incredibly hard and materials to upgrade weapons and charachters are few to none. Enhancements require gold which cost alot to upgrade items but it takes a long time to aquire a decent amount of gold. Can grind sub quests for hours and be able to upgrade close to nothing. Also the main storyline and pointless long hallways and staircases with so much running is highly annoying. Almost uninstalled the game. Still contemplating it..

This game blew my breath away with how beautiful the art, the story, the soft capturing music and the characters are, and that is really hard for me to find in the lot of games I've tried. The stories pull you in and leave you wondering what will happen next and it's interaction is unique and admirable. I truly hope you guys continue to grow the game and make many good changes to make it better. And a side note for those who got cranky over the having to wait a little longer for the maintenance to be over obviously needs to be taught some respect and patience for those who put their all into an astounding game like this.

No mobile game is perfect but this one comes pretty close. The lack of needing to actually pull for dupes and simply wait for progress material is highly important in keeping the game about fun and building who you want to. Focus on one set of characters. Eventually you'll have a ton to mess with, same with weapons. I'm here for the long haul.
  • Excellent bite size storytelling Jul 31, 2021

    By PresEmeritus ;)
Updated review: Absolutely amazing. This game just pretends to be a freemium game when in fact if you’re a story fan… it really is free! And the presentation is really unique and wonderful. If you’re a parent like I am, don’t be afraid to use auto mode and just enjoy it like a movie. This game feels custom built for JRPG fans who has to grow up. Mmm mmm good. Old review: I would rather everyone pick up Nier 1 or 2 but if you can’t then this free game is still way better than most other iOS games. Please try it out so we can get more Nier games! Btw, it’s but free and the graphics are really good for mobile. Great art style in the story bits.

I love this game and it’s been very interesting listening to the top quality voice acting and story telling. I love how this game stays true to Niers ambience and giving players the questions to make them think about the deeper meanings of the many stories told. This game is creative and fun and I hope to continue to support it throughout its life cycle. The one and only thing that bothers me is the game crashes on me when I start it up. I have an iPhone 12 Pro so I think it’s just a coding bug and not my phone as I am able to open any another app without it crashing. Hopefully there will be a patch in the future.

If you can get past the walking part of the main story, you will not be disappointed. New half-anniversary story hit me right in the feels.. been a while since a game made me feel for characters like this game does although it should have been expected from the Nier series. Beautiful designs and great assets. I play without sound but can imagine it is beautiful based on the imagery seen. Hands down, my game of the year. The only issue I have is occasionally the game loads to 60% and crashes. I think it is a memory problem as closing everything else usually fixes it.
  • Very fun, beautiful game, beautiful music Jul 29, 2021

It’s what one can expect from the artistic genius of Yoko Taro. Heart wrenching story, beautiful visuals, great score, I can go on and on. I’m constantly amazed that it’s a mobile game, it could easily be on the Switch. For those worried about the gacha elements, I haven’t spent a cent and I haven’t ran out of stamina either, and I’ve already put a few hours into it. You can spend real money if you want to, but the materials are very easy to get. The point of the game is the story, but the gameplay is fun too. Give it a try if you love Nier! Catch it before the Automata event ends so you can get more 2B lore :)
  • This is a very good game for being mobile and nier Jul 29, 2021

I love the Nier franchise it’s one of my favorites when I heard they were releasing it in the west I knew I had to try it I couldn’t wait any longer so I downloaded the Japanese version of the game and it was beautiful now it even better now I can understand they actually story this time, the gacha mechanics are actually good instead of being trash. A few things to note on though is that if your phone isn’t all that great run at least medium graphics low graphics cap you at 10fps I hope this review helped its a very good game try it for yourself
  • A solid RPG that respects your time Aug 19, 2021

I understand that some of the auto-mechanics may not be for everyone, but the real strategizing of the game is in how you build your loadouts. Battle strategizing does become more involved later, as chaining together moves becomes crucial. Thankfully, the auto battling does come in handy for some of the items you have to grind for, so I am thankful this is one of those games that respects your time. For any who loves Nier for it’s deep existential and philosophical themes that make you ponder the absurdity and meaninglessness of life…that’s all here. I am actually always surprised at the various ways Yoko Taro is able to spin these themes; he is quite the writer/philosopher. As someone who quit FFBE and Genshin Impact, im glad to be able to start something new and more up my alley, with the game being more “mature” in tone and themes and art style. This game gives me the fix that I haven’t been able to get since Final Fantasy Möbius

  • First impressions: 8/10 Jul 29, 2021

    By fcfthchct

While playing the game there are frequent crashes and when your pulling the doors are gold and you get all whites which doesn’t make sense cause other time you get a bland door and I have pulled x3 purples from them. Also there is no way to look at single character to see if they would be better in a group, not to mention when you have multiple of the same character you have to build one or the other like filo, the white is for defense and the black is all out attack, but I want to use the costume of the white one with the blacks stats… don’t know if this was an over site or made difficult either way along with the crahses makes the game hard to enjoy. The other weird thing is the 3 different types of menus, don’t get me wrong I live having seamless menus but it throws me off. Other than day one drop this game is really good. Best story/hero collected I have ever played.

I'm enjoying the gameplay quite a bit but I was let down when the last event ended. I missed cashing in tokens to max ascend A2 as I thought I still had another day and figured I'd just do it the next time the event rolled around but they exchanged my 450 event tokens for bookmark tokens which are relatively garbage. It really put me off and I'm close to quitting.

If you're a fan of Nier series you should definitely grab this game. And for a time you'll be satisfied with the music, the short stories and the insatiable appetite to 'collect all the things'. But soon you'll find there are too many things, too little stamina & rapid fire events that you may burn out & uninstall the game. Make no mistake, although this is Nier, this is very much gacha as well. So if you don't have patience to grind or money to spend, then long-term this game isn't for you.

Sometimes when you click on a black crow during the walking section, connection completely shuts down and you're stuck at connecting... Screen. Love the game so far but it's one of those games where you experience the main story once and you are done with the game. P2-win? - Not really unless you don't have enough time or patience to invest yourself in this game. Most of the time this game requires you grind for things you want, otherwise cash shop is always there to suck you dry.

Game is fantastic. The soundtrack is wonderful, the characters are great, and the battles just look and doing beautiful. But I just updated my phone to android 12 and the game I can't play anymore. The game won't start, it just crashes and goes back to the home screen. I know I installed beta android that isn't technically available yet, but it is a huge bummer.

The game is brilliant I can see it that much there are a few things that are slightly annoying one is a gameplay aspect Where are the auto Lock Screen will trigger When in some other games it doesn’t trigger from what I know. Another is even though the game is in landscape mode (phone held sideways) there is a glitch where it suddenly flips to portrait mode and then the hud and menus are all messed up. The last thing is more Of a peeve of mine which is that the limit for the auto battle option should be more than 10.

So for starters, it’s not a bad looking game. The mechanics aren’t bad either. But it’s a turn base game like no other. It’s a lot better than some other turn base games. My only problem I am having with it is…it’s a turn based game. I thought it would be a RPG where I could change my stats and weapons and be able to control my character with mission objectives and challenges to complete but it is nothing like that. It is strictly a run to the next mission and then fight intern base style. That’s why it’s 4 stars. I hope my review helps anything.
  • Story is ok, gameplay is a bit boring Aug 8, 2021

    By 10fortyEZ

  • EN Gacha rates reduced by half Aug 21, 2021

    By Lunar Rabbot
  • Just an Animated Story Plus Some Sep 11, 2021

Its Square Enix so expect to be amazed by a beautiful story and high end graphics. If you’re a NieR fan then this game will be in your ballpark. However, the user interaction is extremely bad. You do absolutely nothing in this game but mediocre functions. Its purely story based and is aimed at fans of the genre. The Gacha rate seems to be pretty bad too since Character & Equipment is grouped together in the same pool. Games like these I would usually avoid since they are intended to be more of a cash grab and left in the backburner to be forgotten or abandoned. If it wasn’t a Square Enix game I’d have given up already but the art put into both drawing and story seems top notch. Will continue to play to see if it improves. You’ll get bored quick though if you’re not into these slow paced games. Hardly anything to do, lol. This game should’ve been open world concept since NieR franchise has so much potential to be more.
  • Trash Event Summon Rates Aug 21, 2021

    By Angry Minato
Tells you everything you need to know. Considering my last review seems to have been deleted, here we are again. Event summon rates are absolutely garbage. You need to pull 200 times (or 20 10x pulls) to get enough required tokens to get an event character; which you will have to do. The rates are such trash that it’s unlikely that you will get even one in those 200 tries… and that’s with 4 possible event characters! How does that sound reasonable? How does that encourage you to put money into the game? Honestly, I’m discouraged from buying any game currency, or bundles, knowing that the game is so abysmally stacked against players. The kicker? Every event banner has it’s own currency, so you can’t even earn towards a character across banners. That’s 200 pulls per banner to earn ONE CHARACTER PER BANNER! This a decent enough game, but it doesn’t deserve your monetary support. Not if it continues to promote such anti-consumer behavior.

The game is okay. I dislike the mini-games, and the fact you can be so strong that you don't get one combat-ability off before a battle ends, affecting your rewards. The prize wheel will never yield the 100 or 3K prize, so it's clearly loaded. Also you can't progress in the story if you hit a certain power cap, which is a huge blunder by the programmers. They make their own game unplayable.
  • With a very heavy heart Jul 30, 2021

    By Crucible Eater
I’ll start off by saying I love Yoko Taro, Drakengard was insanely fun and Automata is a genuine master piece. But this game is not fun, it’s not predatory, the Gacha rates are decent and it’s retool friendly. The music is beautiful and the visuals are stunning when compared to other phone games. The story starts strong but falls into a repetitive cycle pretty early on, with you constantly investigating the side characters story, which wouldn’t be so bad if they were a touch more interesting. If the mysteries at the beginning grip you then I think you’ll find a lot to love in the story eventually. All of this is besides the point, the core gameplay loop, of pressing buttons in combos, isn’t engaging, and that for obvious reasons kills this experience. If I were rating the game simply off of its core mechanics it would certainly be lower than 3, but it’s very stylish and sounds beautiful, so I can’t go any lower.
  • Great story and music but that’s about it Sep 7, 2021

    By MintyFre5h
The game has very beautiful music and story, but the mechanics of the game is very boring. The characters automatically attack the npcs and all you have to do is use character skills when they’re available… so there isnt much to do other than sit and watch the battles. There are event missions where you need to collect coins to exchange for limited time items in the shop. You can set the missions to repeat automatically 10 but it be so much better if you just instantly get the materials for 10 runs rather than be unable to use your phone until those 10 run completes…. And drain your battery. The game is worth playing for the story but because there’s not much to do other than grind to collect the characters like every typical gacha game

  • Good visuals, story, but stale uninspired combat. Jul 30, 2021

    By Namealwaystakenscrewit
Long and short of this mobile game is the story and presentation of it, the music, the art, the voice acting is all really quite good, great even. Problem is the gameplay itself is split into two parts, walking simulator and auto-battles. The walking sim part is neat and it’s nice having an actual world to go through for story missions, so I’m not complaining about this tbh, it’s a good step up from most mobile games story presentation for sure. The combat on the other hand is a huge let down. The game boast some impressive models and animations for its attacks and skills, but you have what amounts to no impact on the fight. You have a 3D space you can walk your character around in but you can’t affect combat outside of hitting “use skill” buttons when the timers up. Basic attacks are performed automatically and you can’t dodge or block enemy attacks. Combat really is as engaging as QTEs in RE4, you push a skill button every few seconds and the rest is auto pilot.

This game is shallow in terms of gacha mechanics compared to similar offerings and lacks the depth I'd expect from a NieR title. You gain plenty of resources to start the game with, but once they're depleted the game starves you for gacha pulls. Your progression in many areas is completely tied to the unit you're using, so not all high ranking units will be useful. If you're not using a high tiered set of levelled and enhanced characters you may even find the main story difficult to progress.

***UPDATE #2***While the app seemed to work well for a bit, the crashes are back. Often I can’t even open it and it will crash time and time again, in a row. When this happens I just give up on playing it. It’s that bad. I’m surprised the devs can’t get it figured out. It seems they are simply unable to deliver a stable game. I have always held Nier games in highest regard but this game doesn’t deserve the title in its current state. ***UPDATE*** The devs seem to have figured out the crashes. I’ve not had a single crash since the latest update. Kudos. ***Original review*** This game has lots of style. Its grindy. Definitely an auto game. I like it but it crashes way too much (iPhone XR). I hesitate to spend on an unstable product and this is an unstable product atm.

As Yoko Taro states, this game exists so square enix can make money on a gacha. He is mot being meta. Not neing quirky. That’s exactly what it is. It’s disappointing to see such an amazing and powerful series be reduced to this. Honestly gameplay wise it’s not bad. The auto turn based combat with skill attacks on cooldowns is serviceable. But the story sequences are really lackluster, and the Gacha system is horrid. Summons don’t match the data they state. Every ten pulls is supposed to be a high rate item with a guarantee for a character. Yeah that’s not true. I’ve done 43 summons and have only gotten weapons(with…pretty uninspiring designs tbh). I have been summoning in the character banner as well so this stings doubly so for me. I haven’t spent money, but the game gives you gems needed for summons at such a criminal rate I can’t say I’ll stay playing. Sad as Nier Replicant and Automata are among my favorite games of all time. Can’t always knock it out of the park it seems. Music is 10/10 as always though lol.

I thought it was a beautifully made game. The music, atmosphere and game play were pretty solid. So I invested in the 48hour pack for $25 after that went through the game crashed. Which the game has crashed on occasion so I thought it wasn’t a big deal. I go to start the game back up it starts up a new game. I exit and I had linked my account to Facebook so I should have been good, I was wrong instead a different account not mine pops up and it now seems I have lost 25 dollars and my account I reach out to company 4times and have yet been giving a reply. The game I had high hopes for and wanted to support the company. I run into a problem which I ask to see if the company could fix and instead for 2days I get no answer and no assistance.

I’m a nier fan, but I just can’t get into this game. The visuals are nice, but “gameplay” is just watching auto run then watching auto battle. It’s also super grindy, and all that non-interactive repetition gets boring. At first, the 2% gacha rate sounds good but it ends up being terrible because dupes are necessary. It could be I was just unlucky, but this might be the most frustrating pulling experience I’ve had in any gacha. Lastly, some content is only available at certain set times in the day. I really don’t get this expectation that players schedule their lives around a mobile game.
  • It’s Raid: Shadow Legends Aug 10, 2021

    By Ads are taking over
If you like Raid: Shadow Legends style of combat, aka AFK combat with Nier designed characters, you will love this game. However for me personally, this game is too slow, painfully slow: from moving from combat to combat, to story, to combat, to predatory gatcha mechanics… Remember the downtime moments in Nier: Automata like travelling the desert, walking through the robot village, etc. Imagine that as the game. Nier réincarnation doesn’t bring anything new to the gatcha game genre: it’s still the same predatory cash grab mechanics but with boring gameplay. They could have copied Genshin Impact, I’ll pay for those loot boxes and rolls to have 2B hack and slashing stuff.

This game is not "console-quality". It's basically a walking simulator with cheesy stories. Even as a gacha game, there are far better ones out there with better mechanics, character designs, etc. The game feels extremely sluggish. If this wasn't Nier branded this game wouldn't even register on my radar. I don't expect the developer to actually care to overhaul this game to make it even a little enjoyable. They are Japanese and probably don't care what the international audience thinks. Basically this is a gacha game that tries to reject being a "game" and rejects being a "gacha".

I’d love to be able to play this, but the longest I’ve been able to stay in the actual game is 3 minutes, and most times it doesn’t even start before it crashes. I’m on the previous generation iPad so I should be able to run this without problems, but no such luck. Not sure if this is designed only for iPad Pro, but if I can download it I should be able to run it. I’d love to give it a fair chance, this looks like an interesting concept judging from other reviews.

I’m sorry, but a game that you press ‘auto’ and plays itself entirely is not a game. Even if you were not to press ‘auto,’ there is no actual game. Characters fight by themselves, and the only thing you can do is press the higher attacks button once the meter is full. Moving around the battle does not change any outcome as you can’t manually evade or block attacks: beautiful music, artwork, and animations. Excellent storytelling and voice acting (surprised) yet … no unique and challenging gameplay to give it purpose.
