Jul 8, 2020 Great app for sending my daughters selftapes in. Easy to use, makes our submissions look professional. I would like to give a shout out to David from their customer support team who helped me via Facebook messenger. Had a problem sending my video... Wouldn't encode. We tried a few tests and I was credited tickets so none was wasted. We couldn't fix the exact problem but we got it to work. More Importantly he followed up the next week, much appreciated. Great customer service. Thank youmore -

Aug 16, 2020 It was really frustrating using this app. For starters it kept freezing as soon as I would stop recording a video thus I had to keep restarting my phone over and over again.

Oct 20, 2019 I do love this app and have used it on my Samsung and my husband uses it on his iphone. I recently updated to a new phone which is the Samsung A-70 and the app no longer works which has caused much stress because we have two children who are in the acting business and at times in different locations filming. I am extremely upset that the app is not working on my new phone. :((( Have been using it for 3 years now.more -
Jan 23, 2020 Unfortunately, whenever I press the record button, it simply takes me back to the 'recording check list/tips' screen, and this loops in a continuous circle - 'tips'/'record'/'tips'. Useless. -

May 13, 2019 THIS APP IS GARBAGE. Some failed actor or film school reject decided it'd be cute to make a video editing app with a share video function and charge people $1 for something their phone ALREADY does for free - sharing videos. I want to punch the developers in the mouth. This is straight skeevy. The app is in no way connected with the CSA, SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, or anything. Avoid this trash. Your phone can do the same thing and it won't charge you every time you send a video message.more

Apr 27, 2019 I have driven countless X to self tape places to have my 12 yr old sons auditions professionally done and sent in I found this last night I filmed it today I've already sent it off I love the way it put it together so professionally the Slate is exactly what the CDs want actors name first then project. I seriously love this app the price is amazing especially since the first one was free but the time that you've saved me on the road is truly priceless! Love, Love, Love!more

Sep 2, 2018 Really do like this app. It's simple and perfect to use when you have a self tape audition especially if you're out of town or in a different country. My only 2 critics: 1) when you edit your clip(s) it trims off more than you selected. 2) there should be a way do add more title graphics. Example: I had a self tape audition with 3 different scenes, and another where I was asked to do 2 different takes, and there was no way to break up the takes with a title graphic saying scene 1, or, take 2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add that.more -
Sep 2, 2018 I was pleased how easy this app was to use. Very straightforward, and the end result was good quality. What’s challenging is trying to edit the clip, as the phone screen is of course small, so the touch slider is pretty tiny and therefore difficult to be accurate with. But in the end I have been pleased with the results.more

Sep 1, 2018 Decent. It is not actually free and this is why I am doing this review to earn tokens for the app. I wish that I could change the camera setting like I can in my regular camera app but there is no control over light, iso or anything, its just the in app camera and that is all you get. Does cut down on upload times as it compresses it for you. NEXT LEVEL DEVELOPMENT.... all us to record the audio of the person reading the other lines and then play back while we record the audition so that if we are alone, taping auditions at 2 am all alone we dont need anyone else in the roommore

What’s Groovy
This is the most convenient, user-friendly app I'm aware of for submitting a selftape audition. After using it for a couple of years, it wouldn't open on my phone past the intro page. There may have been a bit of a freak out involved on my part (where was a camera to capture that performance? haha). I got immediate help from tech support - issue resolved, me calmed down, much relief in the rest of my household. The fee seems reasonable (less than what I'd spend on gas and parking for a IRL audition). I highly recommend!

Thanx for not being able to edit my projects and be late in submission if a self tape. Please work on your issues! I really did like this app the one time I used it!
