  • One of my favorite apps! Apr 5, 2020

    By static3d
This was the first app I ever purchased for my iPhone years ago and I’ve loved using it ever since. The developers do a great job of taking feedback from the community to update the app. The ability to scan barcodes (even in batches) makes it really easy to add titles to your collection. There tons of information on the movie titles. And, if you see something you know is missing, you can provide the info for the database to be updated. It’s a great app for any movie collector (or if you just want to keep track of movies you have seen). A new version comes out every couple of years or so and I’ve upgraded each time (and will continue to do so).

  • Extraordinary app Apr 18, 2020

I don’t often write reviews. But, the functionality of this app, combined with the exceptional customer service finally prompted me to write this one. I have a modest collection of movies - about 2,000. Most of them are physical copies, but I am also developing a sizable digital only collection. This app made it exceptionally easy to add all my movies into it. And, now that I’ve been working with it for about 6 months, I’ve come to rely on it. I know that my one wish is ridiculous, but I use this app so frequently (I love to collect and watch movies) that I use it almost daily to decide what I’m going to watch. I wish I could just select it and have it play instantly on my big-screen (for those that I own digitally). LOL! Yes, I know. I’m way lazy. Anyway, I’ve never been happier about buying an app than I was with this one. I had long used CollectorZ, but this is so much more useful!

great app and solid database. The categorizing could be a bit simpler from a user perspective and a bit more intuitive but eventually I found the app helpful and worked my way through

I found myself buying movies i had already owned. My collection got so big it was fuzzy on some titles if i had or not. Not only does this help you organize your movies, it keeps you up to date when you are out buying movies. Highly recommend this app for anyone who has a collection they are proud of, and need some assistance keeping track of what you already got. Also helps you decide what movie you want to watch by scrolling through the app

I've been looking for an app like this for years. It would be nice if there was cover graphic recognition option for when the barcode doesn't work.

  • Great app ruined by a buyout May 27, 2020

    By Astationzero
I am a My Movies 2 user and bought the app from the original developer to catalog and archive all my movies that are in boxed storage. Once the new developers bought this app they have essentially voided my pervious purchase with constant pop ups that they may not support version 2 in the future. And now, when I open the app my collection is blank until it populates from a server. I bought version 2 to keep a database of my movies on my phone. I don’t need new features or to have my collection uploaded to a cloud to be deleted if I don’t an update I don’t want. This is a good app with a garbage business model. If it was still owned by the original developer I would update and support them, but not like this.

Upgrade from existing app, apart from a slightly different interface there's no real gain. The developer clearly needs more cash so squeezing it out of people who already bought the first app. This is only any value to people who maintain their catalogue in hard copy; a dieing market hence the cash squeeze on existing users. It references digital copies and it even includes the now defunct UltraViolet. Until it integrates catalogues from Google Play or other content providers, no more cash!

Crashes on startup. And the pro version costs $8 but your email says 50% off... so the full app will coat $16? Or am i not seeing the 50% off discount? ××× All this is, is the last version with the bugs we reported removed. Not worth the paid upgrade as i already paid once for this app not going to pay again for the exact same thing without the bugs. Just remove the bugs fron the last version you greedy a-holes. I got free apps 10 years ago still giving free updates. Your still greedy a-holes.

Really poor experience with paid version. Within two weeks of purchasing, the app was abandoned without warning and I was told to buy a new version to receive future updates. Contacted the developer who refused to help and suggested I was being unreasonable. Don't buy expecting any guarantee of future support.

There are definitely several things that I would love to see added, but this is the best app for cataloging your movies I have found. The scan ability is excellent. I havent found a barcode it doesnt recognize (make sure it's the "proof of purchase" barcode and not the one on the outside if the plastic. I creeped this free app for over a year and have now purchased the Pro Version. Well worth the money!

  • Great movie tracker Sep 22, 2019

    By Taco-Beller
I had an excel spread sheet of all my movies before but this is much easier. Just scan to add most of mine are own for keeps but I like that you could us it to keep track of movies to lend out or on your wish list. I think the best thing is that it is on my while browsing the deals at the store I can check and see if I have it already or need to replace that one because our six year old ruined the movie.

  • LOVE THIS APP May 22, 2020

I really really like this app. Been trying to organize our collection for years strictly for when we’re at movie sales and can’t remember if we own it or not. I would have given it 5 if sometimes it would let you enter everything. I have all the seasons to one series but it only lets me enter the first two. I know I have the complete series but I wish it would let me put our collection in. Other than that though, awesome app and as we scan our collection in (up to over 1600 and still adding) it’s awesome.

Good catalogue program for movie collections. Was recommended to me by a fellow forum user, and after trying the free sample version I decided to upgrade. Happy with the look and functionality. Thank you!

I am getting ready to upgrade to Pro, but at this point I haven’t seen this feature. One of the reason for putting my catalog of movies on my phone is so that I don’t purchase duplicate movies. It would be really helpful if I could scan a barcode to see if I have a movie before I buy it.

  • OK But Slow May 26, 2019

The app itself has great features. There is plenty of information about each film. My only problem is with the multi-scan feature. Every time I scan multiple movies they disappear when I go back to scan more. So I’m scanning each movie individually which is time consuming up front. Once movies are scanned in it won’t be hard to add additional films as you go. This may be something I just need to figure out but I won’t upgrade to the Pro version unless I can find out how to get the multi-scan feature to work.

The only thing I do not like is when I update my phone to a different phone, after paying for this app, it makes me pay again. I’ve paid for this app three times. I like it for the convenience of it keeping my movies in alphabetical order and helps me keep track of what I have, compared to writing them down in a notebook. But as far as paying anymore I will not. The next time I update I will just figure out a way to keep my movies in my computer or just write them down again.
