  • App that's actually useful Jan 25, 2017

    By Donald Ducks1999
Over the past few days I was looking for a Medical app that would include medications, prescriptions, doctors, health information and be able to sync from iPad to iPhone and vice verses. Not to mention that I did not want my information "stored" on someone else's server. Tired of hearing about yackey yay being broken in and personal information stolen. I wanted an app that was less than a year old. Well this one was made in Dec 2015, but the things this app can do. It's a journal and it's a pain to enter all the information required. But once everything is updated you only have to sit back and have your Medical history at your finger tips. Just think if you get a new doctor or want a second opinion all you have to do is pull your phone out.... Warning: IF YOU entered it wrong you only have yourself to blame.

I really loved this app when I first got it because it had so many useful features. It still mostly functions but I've noticed some features are no longer working. One that I especially miss is attaching photos like an xray image. I still use it but worry about what else may stop working. I have to downgrade my review to three stars.

This is probably the most comprehensive and the only Android app that you can import any file (PDF, Word, image) to supplement the information of each test result. However, it still has a few of the user interfaces that it can improve.

And it has done everything I need. Still working well with iOS 13.6.1, transferred across three different iPhones without losing one bit of data. Naturally I’d like a few more bells and whistles, but I find no fault with this app holding everything three family members have done for nine years plus what we’ve entered from before. My husband has three comorbidities and I have two - lots of tracking of doctors and hospital stays as well as odd medications. I have it all at my fingertips. Literally, this information saved his life during our first ER visit for a Myasthenia Gravis crisis that a doctor wanted to treat as a heart attack. Even our Directives are in it as PDF - no question as to who can make decisions. I recommend this in general, but specifically for anyone with a chronic illness.

i know this is a hopeless plea … but PLS RECONSIDER ABANDONING THIS APP and us. i am just devastated that they are no longer supporting this wonderful app!! it is the most comprehensive, easy to use, helpful app that i have. and, obviously one of the most important. i cannot find anything that even comes close to my medical. thank you for the many years of support. (they even answered my email questions throughout the years.) the app they are recommending for security reasons, which i greatly appreciate, is not nearly as thoughtfully and carefully designed. ugh, i know this happens but it has created a huge challenge as to how to go forward. i guess i will need multiple apps and platforms to accomplish the same as my medical. such a ginormous loss!!!!!!!

Have been using this app for about one year and love it. I have tried 3 other apps including the native Apple app and all were either to complicated and/or configured to rigidly to an idea like food, exercise, or medicines. It did take me a bit to key in 5 years worth of blood pressure, weight, glucose, A1C and LDL, etc but it was worth it as I now just enter my latest numbers and can instantly see a trend. Entering all my prescriptions make it a breeze to show each time a different doctor asks. The fact that I am actively using it 12 months later is a big endorsement. Thanks for making a simple yet flexible app!

  • App is great; CUSTOMER SERVICE AWFUL!! Nov 4, 2016

    By Cwhitt32
I've purchased & have successfully used this app since 2012 on all my iPads. Just purchased a new iPad and after backing up old device and restoring info to new one, this app was frozen with NO info in it on the new device. Going back to the App Store to redownload the app - appeared as if I'd have to repurchase the app. Frantic about losing 5 years of medical history for several family members, I contacted the app developer...several times over several weeks with NO response whatsoever. I was finally able to contact Apple, with my previous purchase date and order number in tow from my App Store account, who was able to resolve my problem. Thank goodness for Apple Support because this app developer has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!! Had it not been for that I'd likely have given a higher rating because the app is great for keeping up with family medical records.
  • Repeat from Ipad review - very good Apr 9, 2016

    By JCCC1
I bought this app to put all my medical info in a single place, and which I could easily share with medical professionals. This app does all that. Not surprisingly, the actual data entry is a pain, but that has nothing to do with the app. Finding all those pill bottles, blood tests, etc is necessary for this to work properly. (You can enter data from your address book effortlessly) But once the data is in, sharing and/or updating becomes easy. This is a smart app, in that it anticipates from already entered data what you may need when updating. I bought the iPad app to enter and keep the data up to date, and the iPhone app for ease of use and portability when visiting the doctor. Yes, you need to buy each. But syncing is easy. Once you're at a medical office, if you wold rather not narrate a record, you can just email it straight from the app to the medical office. In a couple of seconds, they have your info. BTW, support is great. I had a problem - turns out it was a user issue, not the app - and I had a support email back in a few hours with the correct solution. 5 stars. Recommended. Update: what happened to syncing? This has become useless without the ability to keep all the devices sync'd.

I bought both the iPad, iPhone, and Android versions of this app right after I was diagnosed with cancer. It *was* great until the developer apparently decided to abandon it THREE YEARS AGO. The features of the app were awesome. It's still *mostly* usable as long as you don't want to try to sync between devices or create an archive, and don't mind playing a guessing game when trying to enter dates since there's a problem that causes the date & time shown to not match the one entered. The freezes & crashes are a fun adventure as well. Will it save the info you just spent half an hour adding? Who knows! The app made navigating my cancer diagnosis, treatment, & follow-up infinitely less tedious. It's a shame the developer doesn't care about those of us who've already forked over our money to them.

Update August 2020: No update to this app in four years! It has been completely abandoned, but I found a suitable replacement. Please look into “Tidy Health PHR“. It is still being improved, updates about once a month. It allows you to store your data locally, attach documents, ties in to native iOS apps (Reminders, Contacts, etc.). I recommend it as a replacement for My Medical. Original review: This app was great when it was supported, but it has not been updated in 3 years. Most importantly, when Dropbox changed their programming interface last year this app was not updated. As a result, it will not sync with Dropbox and there's no other way to sync between various devices. I've been entering my info separately into my Mac, iPhone 8 (iOS 12.2), and iPad Air 2 (iOS 12.2) to keep them all up to date. Unfortunately, today it stopped working on my iPad - it crashed every time I launched it. I strongly recommend you not use this app. Now I need to find a different app to use instead.

I've used this app for several years and it has been invaluable through all of my family's medical issues. It was working fine up until the last upgrade on my phone. Now all of our medical files including notes from doctor visits are gone. Since the iCloud back up option was removed, I had not established an alternate way to back up my files so all of the info is lost--if it was still on my phone it would have loaded right? I am so incredibly mad at the creative tech genius who caused this failure. Yes, I should have taken more time to figure out a good way to back up the info (it used to update my Mac version but stopped when the iCloud connection ended), but given that I'm not the only one experiencing this lost, I am blaming the tech people. So this app gets one star for losing all my valuable and irreplaceable family medical files. Oh, yes, and I too have not heard word one from the app maker regarding my recent complaint. I'm starting my hunt for a replacement today.

would like to store in vloud or like. had new phone and had to manually in put all family info in then had to factory reset lost all info and had to put it all in a second time. Also would like to see a special place to in put daily vitals and Bloos sugar readings. I would pay if all this were added to this app.
  • Won’t archive Oct 24, 2018

    By Alicat_0211
I’ve been using this for years and it’s been very handy to have with a 6 person family. Occasionally, it has suddenly lost data and I’ve thankfully had it archived in my email. Lately though it stopped allowing me to archive. The app will crash and close if i try. It also won’t allow me to use Dropbox, saying it’s outdated. On top of that, lost some data recently for some reason. Not sure what’s going on, but I can’t successfully save/backup years of data. I’ve also a tried reaching customer service for weeks and no answer.

I bought both the iPad & iPhone versions of this app right after I was diagnosed with cancer. It *was* great until the developer apparently decided to abandon it THREE YEARS AGO. It would be awesome if Apple bothered to occasionally peruse their app store & censure developers like this one who abandon apps but keep charging for new downloads. The features of the app were awesome. It's still *mostly* usable as long as you don't want to try to sync between devices or create an archive, and don't mind playing a guessing game when trying to enter dates since there's a problem that causes the date & time shown to not match the one entered. • Lost data - no support Nov 9, 2017

    By Gittegood
Initially all was well, and it was fantastic to be able to have all the medical records for all my 6 immediate family members in one location. It was super easy to share the information with doctors offices. We used the iPad version. Then, the app on my iPad froze, and showed only a white screen. When switching between family members, the data would show for a fraction of a second, but then blank. Contacted support numerous times, no response ever. So now, all the data, which you have to enter manually, for my 6 family members is gone. Restoring the data from Dropbox, which they claim the app can back up to, is also impossible as there is nothing in those data files either, despite having archived/backed it up. So very frustrating. It’s a great idea for an app and would be fantastic if it just didn’t lose the data.

I'm a Medical Technologist, and I support this app simply because it's easy to follow your progress based on the way you can put in your lab results as they come. We don't always go to the same laboratory all the time, and although there are other platforms to keep track of your records, this app allows you to DIY without the need to be attached to a specific provider. Yes in the begging and as you add more tests might be a little time consuming, it's totally worth it! I recommend this app to anyone who wants to really take care of their health and be in control of the information.

  • Best medical record app, but unsupported now Nov 17, 2017

    By LuckysClub
This is by far the best app for keeping family medical records. I have tried so many, and this one is the most comprehensive without wanting you to upload records to some online service and give them permission to market to you. Unfortunately it seems to be abandoned, despite a recent update for iOS 9, even as the latest is iOS 11. Sync no longer works because the app hasn’t been updated for the latest Dropbox API. So although I love this app, I'm moving away from it to something with a future ahead of it.

My husband and I are both very pleased with this app. I would like, however to make the suggestion that you add a category symptom/ treatment. I had pain in the buttocks area which led me to a doctor, then an x-ray, then an MRI, physical therapy, and Massage Therapy. These were all related to the same symptom. I would like to be able to place that information in one category.

  • Lost data - no support Nov 9, 2017

It had no place to record my health readings.

I have used this app for many years and I loved it. I had all my medical records going back to 2005 entered in to it. Then when the last IOS update came out it completely stopped working and all my records disappeared. I have emailed their customer service many times since then and have gotten no response. The records were still on an old Ipad I had that did not get the IOS update. Out of desperation I purchased this app again today. I followed the instructions to transfer my records from my old Ipad to my new Ipad with the newly purchased app. Not only did the records not transfer to the new app but it also wiped out the records and froze the program on the the old Ipad. Two weeks ago I would have given this app 5 stars. Now I have to re imput hundreds of lab tests, office visits, and medicatins.
