I’ll rate it like 4.5/5 stars if it allows me. Cause most of the experience went pretty good. The all-in-one feels great after I checked something in Excel then need to take a note. Also OCR to sheets or docs are excellent! But...(yeah, there is a But). Besides some UI layout glitches, there is a problem confused me a lot. Why can’t I send files from my Onedrive through the ‘Transfer files’ (aka. Action — Share files — Transfer files). After paired to my PC, i would be able to send any files. Except all Onedrive folders / services are grey. Only iPhone could be selected. That’s huge inconvenience. It’s 2020, who would ever save files locally on a phone. Personally I can’t imagine any application scenarios of this function at present circumstances. Sorry if this is harsh.

I appreciate not being required to use an extra 'family member' slot to utilize the mobile version of this platform. Seems pretty seamless, transitioning from my laptop to mobile when on the go. Just need to remember to save stuff to the onedrive cloud. Powerpoint on mobile is quite slow, so I'm hoping as phone processors improve it will mitigate this.

I like the idea of a all in one productivity app, however this just doesn’t work for me for a couple of reasons. Number one is the horrible built in Lens scanner. I had Lens before and quickly moved away from it once I discovered Evernote’s Scannable. I scan a lot of documents for work and work a lot with PDF’s so having a well performing scanner is essential for me and Lens simply doesn’t work well enough. I had hoped it had been upgraded for this app and would perform better but it’s the same as the stand alone version. The other PDF related problem is the lack of ability to mark up a PDF. Yes you can sign a document but I often need to add text, boxes or arrows to a PDF and those functions are not available here. The other major downfall is the lack of iPad support. I work a lot on my iPad and need the tools I use to be available there as well. I could see this maybe becoming a great all in one tool in the future with some tweaks but for now I’ll stick with Evernote, Scannable, Docs and Pages.

This app is literally amazing. It helped a lot! I was having Google notes app but after installing it I no longer need that. Love this app. All in one. This is one of the top most recommended app by me. What we can't do in this? Everything! Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, Sign your PDF, Make notes, To do list and that too without wasting your mobile data. I mean, no words for this app guys! Literally loving it's performance. Keep doing good work👍 But can we get MS Access app for Android?

Great call by Microsoft to add their Office Trio (Word, Excel and Power Point) into one app. I have an older 16GB phone, and Storage is at a high premium. With this app, I can write papers, work on spreadsheets and presentations without taking up space with three separate apps, saving me precious storage space. This is a great app for working on projects in places I can't bring my laptop, or if one of my other family members is using it, I can still be productive from my phone. Pair this app with a bluetooth keyboard and you have a winning combination!

Desperately needs a delete button in the recent menu. Also a don't save to recent list option. I spend most of my time hitting "remove from list." Should have a function where you could just swipe them away. Swipe right-remove from list, swipe left-delete file. But that would be too easy. Microsoft tries their best to make everything really hard to accomplish. Just take a look at Windows.

  • Why isn’t this universal at start? May 9, 2020

I’ve had an iPad since day 1, gen 1. I have waited ever since for Microsoft and Apple to meld their strengths and have a good workflow for office on IOS and cloud files. After reading about this app’s release I was hopeful this was the one that would become the solution. And then after downloading realized...it’s prioritized for phones and does the lame compatibility version for iPad. I don’t work in the tech industry, but would bet money that an analysis would show people using office on mobile devices are largely on tablets and less on phones. Are that many people really making presentations and excel files on phone screens? This needed to be a universal app or prioritized for iPads first and then have a phone version. Feels like a no brainer and failure for now for me. Hoping iPad prioritization comes soon.

I have tried four times now to download the app on to my tablet. Once downloaded and signed in it will not open or stay open. It tries to then bounces straight back to my tablet home page. I would really like to use it as that is why I have paid for it. I have a Microsoft 365 account and have just installed a 64gb memory card. Looks like I can just use it on my tablet from the web page

  • Call it “Office Lens Plus”? Feb 20, 2020

By Apps as I see them
The Office app for iOS as of February 2020 seems to be lacking a lot of the power promised in the various videos from Microsoft floating around. It looks like this app was rushed out before it was finished. One video shows the ability to create a PowerPoint from an outline, but try finding the “Create Outline” button in this version. Office Lens already has some great capabilities - such as scanning a whiteboard or making a PDF - and this app does those too. And while it will get those images or scans over into a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint document, that’s hardly bringing them all into one place in any easy way. I hope Microsoft will continue to develop this into what they’ve promised. But at this point, there’s not enough in the app, and what is there isn’t quite integrated yet.

It used to be very handy app. I have been using this for 5 months. Have lots of nice features. But for the last few weeks im unable to scan pdf or word file using the app. The scanner gets stuck in middle of scanning and sometimes doesn't even start scanning process. Its very fusturating esply while scanning long file and getting stuck in middle and have to start all over again

  • I’m super happy with the new Office app! Feb 20, 2020

    By apfitzg2
This is great! The update is very efficient for me. I work between Word and Excel quite often for research. To be able to open, copy, and use actions quickly when I’m doing something quickly (like emailing my boss about statistical results) is essential. Office does this very well and I’m very happy with Microsoft listening to customers and combining all of the essentials into one. I also really like the option to convert an image to Excel table or image to text. These small features really make me love it.

It is a good app. I like this app very much. It help me to open office files in phone only. I don't have to use my pc also i can create office files in phone only. It has some extra features also we can scan QR code, images to text, table to excel file, text to pdf etc. One problem is that it doesn't have feature to scan QR code from gallery it should there so that if QR code in our gallery so we don't need to download another app for that, else it is great.

Honestly prefer using the other apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint instead of using them through the Office app but the lens feature for creating PDF documents is one of the best out there. The only minor issue with this feature that I've seen is that when you share created PDFs, it sends the file with the preset name "I am sharing 'filename' with you", meaning that you have to change that name to "filename.pdf" in order for it to be recognized by the app you're sharing it to.

Looking forward to slide deck to re-read and think some more...re my remarks relative to the CSCC website hopefully was not interpreted as a criticism...The website obviously contains a great deal of thought and meaningful and important content. Content that might be rearranged for easier consumption (not rewritten). Might highlight several of the “sell-points” targeted at whoever is subscribing on behalf of new singers. Perhaps CSCC has been down this pathway already...just a reaction, given the conversation at the moment....For sure, the site demonstrates a great deal of work “ALREADY done...”!!! Thank you for an interesting consideration of a broad, complex topic.....Michaela

The app is great; but limited. The pandemic locked me out of university, community college, and public library computer labs which put a cramp in me posting on my Facebook page. I wondered if Microsoft had an Office App in the App Store? To my surprise; there was! The App allowed me to continue posting from my IPhone SE; which have its difficulties. I yet, continued on. My problems were the inflexibility of the app to work on the small surface of my iPhone. Frustrating as it is, I continue to use it, the App gets the job done; which is a plus!!!

Would be even better if (A) there was a privacy option that allows users to set a password/pin, or use Touch ID; and (B) if there were better integration between this and cloud provider apps such that each app could be protected with a password while also allowing the user to open documents from any cloud app via Office as a centralized point. Right now password protection for iOS OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. has to be disabled to open and edit documents.

Very helpful app. Word, excel, PowerPoint all under one umbrella. But has some bugs to fix. When I use app for some 5 minutes the app exit itself and I want to start from the beginning. This usually happens when I use word, or lens for some time. So please fix this. Or please add a auto save feature. And I can't find a scroll button in the .ppt files. So please add this. So I can scroll down slides very fast when I am not in slideshow.

Scrolling has become smoother than before but limited to 20 pages per swipe. And thanks for adding the feature to reopen at the page last seen. This feature really will help me a lot. It would be great if there is a feature for bookmarks. So that when I press those bookmark links I would be redirected to that page. The only problem I face now is the compatibility of word and ppt files that I create in pc. Things get disoriented when I open those on mobile office app.

  • Useful on iPhone, annoying in iPad Oct 17, 2020

So, I love O365 and I use it for work nearly every day. While I’m a fan of the office app on my phone and find it easy to find things I’m looking for (or have opened recently), i can’t help but feel rather annoyed at the “mobile version” of the app on the iPad. I find myself daily checking the App Store for updates and looking for an update for iPad. If this app had a meaningful iPad user interface (that is, using the ENTIRE SCREEN), then this app would get 5 stars for me. Let’s get that iPad update!

  • PLEASE OPTIMIZE FOR iPadOS Apr 13, 2020

    By Shaw.Nomura
I can’t give you a 5 star review for two reasons: 1) I use Office 365 APPS exclusively on my iPad Pro. You NEED TO provide a separate iPadOS app or optimize this one to be used on the iPad. 2) Please improve the Excel parts of this app especially when an iPadOS version is created. It would be awesome to get a version that rivals the MacOS version of Excel. Many of us us the iPad as a Mac/PC replacement. These two improvements will truly make this the perfect APP for the mobile office user.

When I open a document downloaded from external apps (like Chrome, WhatsApp etc.), the Office app creates another copy of it in some folder that isn't manually accessible. So, when I have to delete documents, I have to delete it from internal storage and then also click the "Remove from list" option in the app FOR EVERY DOCUMENT. There's no option to select multiple items!! The Search option doesn't work!! It also eats up too much space (over 300 MB including cache and app data).

The app is great to use when it works . Most of the time the app is a great help for school work and many of the other thing I have to do. That is until it decides to stop working completely. It will only open for seconds before it crashes and I am unable to get any of my work done . Because of this I have had late assignments that aren't my fault at all because the app simply stopped working and my acces to my documents is denied. This app would be a much better use if it worked when needed.

I was originally happy with the app, but after purchasing a new tablet I discovered I am required to subscribe to 365 To be able to do even the most basic edits. WHY? Because my tablet is .2 (yes. 'point 2') of an inch larger than my other tablet so it is ONLY functional if your tablet is less than 10.4" or you pay annually for the occasional use. Its absurd, I own a registered copy of Office for my PC, but I can't use Word on my new tablet because of 1/10 of an inch

Office: now with data corruption, randomly jumping scrollbars, and an inability to determine whether the font you're reading is serif or sans-serif. The only word processing program I know of where opening and closing a read-only document can produce wildly different renderings. A program that can decide half of your document is composed mostly of non-displayable characters without any rhyme or reason. A program that I pay subscription fees for. A program that I fear using.

This started out as a great tool, but lately has been a huge headache due to the fact that after a short period of time typing there are constant delays in words appearing and punctuations, spaces and words are being added randomly. Nothing has helped to correct the issue. We have tried deleting and reuploading it and that hasn’t helped, we checked our internet and that isn’t the issue, we have even tried other devices with the same thing and it happens there too. It’s very frustrating especially when it is the main tool for my schoolwork.
