Works great in the background doing its thing. There is a bug that I’ve experienced where randomly I’ll get a notification that Bluetooth is off, when it is in fact on. Not an app-breaking bug, but something to fix in the near future.

Easy to install. It depends on people to use the app, and to self-report when they know they have been exposed or if they test positive. It’s anonymous. All the system does is alert others who were close to an exposed person. It uses the short-range (30 feet) Bluetooth radio in your smartphone, NOT GPS information. Again, it’s completely anonymous for those who self-report and to anyone who is later alerted. All of us who use the app provide a benefit to our communities, and to ourselves, as well. It’s not a perfect system. If it betters your chances (or a loved one) by 15%, would you use it? 5%? You betcha.

Hey... This App does NOT detect Covid. The only way you will see ANY notice is IF the person uses this app to warn us. I cannot give it any “star ratings” because I see nothing or notice any changes in the App. I have it a neutral rating so that I could post my review. Battery drainage? I see zero drainage on my cell. Make sure to check your Battery in your Settings and see where most of the drainage is coming from. Remember, this is a brand new App and most do not know about it. Let’s just hope most will use it. As for the city offices that spread Covid, noticing that this app was out there for one day or so at that time, they probably did not know about this app yet? Hopefully it was on the news or in the media to warn people? I am trying to stay positive here. The BEST way to stay safe is to WEAR A MASK! Now that is one thing I can complain about. When I am out at the park or driving by a little league game, 99.9% of the people were NOT wearing a mask! That is a shame! Stay safe everyone. We need to stick together and do what is right, because we ALL are going through this.

I like the idea . But the fact that this app relies completely on self reporting and given the delays in reporting test results, this fall far short of being an effective tool. By the time you actually get your test result, if you’re one of the VERY FEW people that have downloaded this app , the effectiveness goes out the window . This app will not track your movements from 3 or 4 or more days ago to tell you that you were in close contact with someone who finally got their result and then decided to go ahead and report through this app.

The way these contact tracing apps work is actually quite interesting. Somewhat counterintuitively, its able to do its job effectively without violating your privacy. It doesn't track your location, it doesn't know your name or anything about you, it doesn't know the identities of the people you've come into contact with, and it doesn't spread any information about who you are to others. Very awesome to know that we can keep ourselves safe during a public health crisis without having to give up our privacy.

I really like this app! I find it to be very useful and informational. It helps us stay alert and well aware of everything. I feel like this app has potential to help decrease the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan. This app will allow our community to stay safe. I recommend this app to everyone. The whole idea of posting your results is a really smart thing. However, even though the results will most definitely be off by a couple days, results are results and it’ll help all of us stay safe.

There needs to be an option to tell that app you're at home. I don't leave my Bluetooth on at home and get constant notifications from the app to turn it on. It is a waste of battery when you aren't in public and is extremely annoying.

Basically 2 phones have to have the app installed. If one persons tests positive AND reports it in the app AND your phone was within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes, then your app would provide you a notification. If the person who tests positive DOES NOT share the results in their app, your app would NOT provide you a notification. Be courteous to others and report positive test results in the app.

Useless app. Last check for Cobra exposures in February of this year. I see responses from the developer saying they're working with Google. So I followed your suggestions on the do not kill my apps website and it worked for about a month and now it's back to not working despite all of the stops on the do not kill my app page being the same. And my apps are consistently up-to-date so it's not the reason why this app doesn't work.

Never checks for exposures. I guess that's not true, it did back in January, which was several months ago. And I've checked my settings, it's not restricted in anyway, including the background. I never use battery saver, but it's also checked to be unrestricted with battery saver. It does show data transfered within the app, 700 kb last month, but still hasn't checked exposures in several months. I have also tried reinstalling the app.

When the app was first introduced to the Michigan community through TV commercial they never mentioned needing some pin# to get notifications on if you had come in contact with an infected person. As stated in other rates here my phone hasn't had a check since April 21'. It would be a great tool if it really worked and if we knew we needed some pin#.

I downloaded this just to put a review and i will delete it when im done. This keeps popping up in my feed. I dont want it. Flagged it as inappropriate, still there. I dont care what you have to do. I am sick and tired of all your ads on the radio, and tv already talking about how its "for others" when it isnt. Its about fear. Well fear came and went as soon as i applied any level of high school biology. Now im just angry and the level of absurdity. Get this bs off my feed.

  • Useless app, is MI Health Dept even supporting still?? Mar 22, 2021

    By DutchPax
I’ve been using this app hoping it would alert me to any potential exposures, and now i know why it has never alerted me. I tested positive almost a week ago, still have not been contacted by the health dept and still haven’t received a PIN number to alert anyone else. By now it’s far too late to do any good by alerting anyone. After a year of this pandemic, i should’ve received a PIN as soon as i tested positive: they have my info, my email, my phone number. But nothing, just silence. A good idea, but if you aren’t going to support it, it’s doing more harm than good, offering those using it a false sense of safety when really there is none.

It hasn't checked for exposures in nearly a month. I changed battery optimization and no change. I don't like having bluetooth constantly enabled solely for this app so I don't see the point in keeping it. EDIT: YES, I know that bluetooth is required. Which is why I'm complaining about this app not working properly. I've had bluetooth on all the time all this time, and it hasn't even checked for exposures, which means, all that I've done in the past month is compromise the security of my phone for apparently no reason. If there is no benefit to using this app, I'm certainly not going to keep using it and keep bluetooth on.

I ended up getting covid and only place I can think of is between 3 places... mainly a grocery store near me.... I went to self report however I did not have a “PIN” from the local health department. I was in the hospital when I found out about being positive. It would be nice to be able to report being positive. I called all 3 places myself and told them I tested positive so the employees are aware of exposure. I did NOT have symptoms. However now I have a stuffy nose that comes and goes, can’t smell, and hardly can taste.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times. I had it set to run in the background, to never sleep, and it still won't update the last time it checked for exposure; it's been weeks. Instead of blaming everyone's problems on their phones or settings, how about taking ownership and just fixing the app? You know multiple people with different phones have the same issues...FIX IT.

Extremely simple to use and all of your privacy is protected. Really is a must have app if you live and/or work in Michigan. Download this app to help curb the spread of the virus, so our economy can remain open. Even more imperative that we all have these exposure notification apps with the new, more contagious variants around. Stay safe everyone 😷🙂

I like the idea and functionality of this app however I wonder if this will be as affective as this was meant to be unless as many people as possible can download and use it.I kind of feel like those who don’t care too much about Covid probably it wouldn’t care to download this app anyway.

I tested positive for COVID-19. I wanted to share it in the app so I could alert others. When you test positive, the DoH gives you a PIN that you then enter into the app to verify your positive test result, which should broadcast it on the app. But here's the major problem: it didn't recognize the TWO PINs they sent me. I tried phoning someone, but had no idea who to contact. I was desperate to get the word out, because I work in a busy location. Nothing worked. I tried the codes again and again, but the app kept rejecting them, saying that it wasn't a valid code. I called the admin office-- I think???-- of the local health department, because I had no idea who else to contact to help me. All I did was call the number the app gave me. No responses from anyone. I'm starting to think this is happening with other positive testers as well, and that's why exposures aren't properly updated. Because of this, this app is LITERALLY. POINTLESS. Please do something about this. I tried to inform as many people as possible, but I can't reach out to everyone.
  • Nice idea, poorly executed Feb 3, 2021

    By another_mi_guy
Suffers from the necessity of having to obtain a passcode from one's local health department (who either are hard to reach or lack knowledge or training) to submit a COVID-positive test result. Also failed to notify me of an exposure from someone who also had the app. They were only able to submit their status via the app after receiving the runaround from their county health department when requesting a verification passcode.

  • Nice idea but doesn’t work as intended Feb 10, 2021

    By Annoyed to tears
I had everyone in my household download this app when it became available. We have never gotten a notification, which in theory is great. Our whole family was exposed to COVID and four out of the five of us contracted it. My husband and daughter actually received a pin and put it into their app, and I still have not gotten an exposure notification. It’s been 5 days, which is definitely over 24 hours. So while I love the idea of the app, the sensitivity of the notification parameters is not ideal.
