  • Great for High-Level, Real-Time Monitoring Dec 31, 2016

    By JeremyCaney
First, to be clear: This is not an administrative app; for the most part, it will not allow you to MODIFY the settings of your Meraki devices. That said, it will provide you with a high-level, real-time overview of your Meraki infrastructure, including access points, clients, SSIDs, and support cases, as well as appropriate reporting information for each, including line charts of each. In addition, it provides basic troubleshooting tools such as ping, tracert, throughput, and remote reset. For these purposes, it is quite useful. It would certainly be nice if Meraki made a version that exposed true administrative controls; without that, the app only satisfies a limited role. As is, it's administrative capabilities, beyond the above mentioned troubleshooting tools, are limited to basic metadata management, such as renaming an access point, taking a photo of its mounting, or disabling an SSID; not terribly useful, but a start.

  • Big improvement, still extremely simple Oct 2, 2020

    By Robby
The new overhaul of the app fixes a lot of issues I had with the barely usable app that was previously available, but don’t expect the app to do too much. It’s still primarily for checking the status of your networks and seeing some basic info, but not for doing much beyond that. Some of the biggest improvements that were making the app unusable before for us was that it would just choke on multiple organizations. The new app handles multi-organization management significantly better. FaceID to log you back in is fantastic. It seems slightly buggy, but works most of the time and is fantastic. Being able to view the Meraki cameras in the app is fantastic. I think that the UI is a bit too over simplified for where the cameras should be, but you can see the streams and they load very quickly. It’s faster than logging in to the dashboard and going to the cameras in my experience, which is great. Meraki, if you’re reading this, take a peak at Verkada’s app and use some of the great ideas from that app for the cameras, they have a fantastic app implementation. This version feels like Meraki is finally putting some love in to their iOS app. I hope that they continue to put time and effort in to this. It’s good but it could be so much better. Please don’t go another several years without any meaningful updates!

Adding starts. App is becoming more useful:) Please consider adding PING (another address from the appliance) and DHCP leases to tools tab under device . PING would be upmost useful, as to give an ability to quickly check if something is UP straight from the app without a need to VPN.

  • Latest update broke a lot Oct 17, 2020

With the most recent app update no longer can I switch between different companies or locations within a company. Once you have a location pulled up, the only way to back out now is to force close the app. UPDATE: Another update fixed the problem mentioned above and the app is back to working great! 👍🏻

  • Update shows no devices Oct 13, 2020

    By Frets1127
I work for a company who uses the mobile app to check cameras and other devices all the time. I’m in the IT department so I have been getting calls saying their app isn’t working. Since the new update no devices show in their dashboard. I have yet to update and I can access everything. I’m not sure if it’s a support issue or not. I will be contacting support but trying to get this resolved ASAP we have every camera in our company on this platform, all of our access points and our MDM. We need the mobile app fixed. Would love to change this to 5 stars once it’s fixed.

If it's not one issue, it's another, if it's not one bug, it's another... Log into the web GUI shows devices under account just fine, log into app, no devices show for account and constant network error.. currently useless.. clearly not a lot of developer resources are deployed for the mobile app..

  • Where did location analytics go??!? Nov 4, 2020

    By GonnaNeedABiggerBloat
***Where did Location Analytics go? **Why can’t I tell my devices to update firmware? (...if it says update is available?) **What is Meraki’s stance on Apple’s recent iOS 14 update allowing for “Private Addresses” setting for reducing tracking across an iPhone’s different available SSID’s? **Why is the UI so big? Why can’t managing different SSID’s on AP be more “at a glance?” ....If I have 5 configured SSID’s on an access point, and 7-10 unused/inactive custom SSID’s remaining to use, why wouldn’t you list the enabled/visible ones first in list? Silly to have to scroll down repeatedly past unconfigured 6, 7, 8, before geting to important information that’s relevant. Please shine the whole white design and add some contrast...miss having the major tabs across bottom too.

They removed all the useful features from this app. App is now worthless. Need to login with the web because app doesn't have any useful tools.

  • Broken in iOS - Really nice in Andriod Mar 22, 2014

    By Rill3osu
Updated review - support was very quick to respond about the bug in the previous version. This updated version works great! This mobile app is so much nicer to work in than the web interface. I can quickly access the basic reports and see the status of my wireless networks anywhere in the world. Our school runs on Meraki hardware and having an app would be great from a management standpoint; however, it is not currently launching on iPad iOS 7.1 or iPhone iOS 7.1.

Great to see Meraki investment in the app again. Still missing features compared to desktop. It would be nice to see recorded video for the cameras for example. Hope to see continued improvements.

It’s been way too long and now the app joins the modern times. If this stays logged in using Face ID I’ll be more than happy.

Its okay. It works but it's not very nice to look at and it's not very well orgnaized. It looks nothing like the dashboard so if you are used to that then this will be really odd for you. For example the networks are broken up into device types (wireless, switch, appliance, etc), even if you have it combined in the dashboard. They also have all the networks of a type grouped together. So all appliance networks are in a section the switch then wireless. But it works in an emergency.

Continued to find that reports are inaccurate (based on known or report from web UI), and find that several features just missing (add users for instance). No issues with the application crashing or hanging, but have not found it to be functional enough to be useful.

App is a little oversimplified compared to the already simplified dashboard. You can't tag a VLAN on a switchport from the app. I often end up opening the dashboard in my mobile browser to make some changes.
  • Meh... Started out good but no updates Feb 17, 2016

    By Rmainard006
This app is only "ok". There are lots of features that it should have by now, but there hasn't been an update in over a year. It has a make a wish feature, but no way to follow up. I was hoping to at least be able to execute commands in my desktop systems, or look at the processes they are running. All you can really do is verify the computer is on. 3 stars since it doesn't really crash.

  • This version is practically useless. Mar 9, 2021

    By TBM1231230
It takes forever to load, then provides limited information. You can’t even use the ping feature to test the connection to a device on your network. As often as we have to replace their networking devices I guess I should expect much from their app.

Does not work at all with our MS-390 stack. Opening a port configuration dialog leads to the wrong interface (which can cause huge trouble), not all ports available on the 390 are displayed, error messages whole connecting to the meraki cloud. This also applies to the beta app. All this is just another reason to migrate away from our Meraki infrastructure. Sorry Cisco, this is not what we were used to and we're definitely migrating away from both, Cisco and Meraki, as a result.

  • Lacks feature and function Feb 17, 2021

It provides basic function but lacks all ability to manage the Wi-Fi network from the app. Mostly view only mode, lacks any ability to upgrade or make changes.
  • L A N D S C A P E MODE PLEASE! Oct 17, 2020

    By mypridewar
Aside from it lacking real features for management (see: UBNT, they rule!) IT DOESN’T RUN IN LANDSCAPE MODE. Good grief, Cisco, fix this. FIX THIS. Make this app useful. I use the UBNT app to manage SDN networks all day long. I have to use the browser for Meraki. Very annoying. Update: oh wait. No update. Still garbage. Update 2: App is finally updated...years late. It’s better. Not blown away.
