Update Oct 27th- Thank you for adding back in the features you removed. Especially being able to see the whole race results from one swimmers results. Now...can we do something about the hard to read text? Bolder maybe. Yellow on white is never easy on the eyes. The app was once...ok. After the update, It’s functionality has diminished to a point of being unhelpful. In the older version, I could see my swimmers event result, then click on the event name and see the psych sheet or list of final results. This feature is no longer there. If that could be added back in, I would be grateful. May I also suggest adding in additional features . Making each swimmers name a touchable hyperlink of sorts from any screen, that would take us to that swimmers event list would be stellar. I don’t favorite all of my swimmers team, because I don’t care for the hundreds of notifications. But being able to pick a teammate out from an events finals list, touch their name, and see their results and upcoming events would be very helpful. And if you want to get super crazy helpful, the ability to request accounts to be merged. My swimmer has at least 7! My favorite list is llloooonnngggg but it’s only for three swimmers.

I just finished a 200y Freestyle, and my coach was showing me my 50-yard splits on her phone. I had never heard of an app that shows everything the heat sheet does, plus splits and places, so I asked her what it was called. She told me it was called Meet Mobile, so when I went home from my meet I got on my phone and downloaded it, and I now I love it! It is amazing how in-depth this app is, with everything it shows. However, there is just one problem which I hope gets fixed. When I go to the “Favorites” tab at the bottom of the screen, and then I press “Search for swimmers” underneath “Favorite Swimmers,” or “Search for teams” underneath “Favorite Teams,” and then I try searching for a swimmer/team, nothing shows up. Nothing even loads, it just shows nothing. To any developer who sees this, thanks so much for reading, and I hope you can find a way to solve the problem! :)
  • Great app - Feedback for publisher too Dec 9, 2017

    By PeanutRounder
Great App. Love it for keeping track of results on meet day. Also love being able to see how friends kids are doing. App is at its best when results are near real time. SUGGESTIONS: 1) One of the most annoying parts of being a swim parent is keeping track of when your kid is about to swim. Long gaps between events make it easy to lose track. Publisher should add a “reminder” feature that pops up a message when “favorite” swimmers are about to swim 2). Some events are now doing video. Grandparents who can’t travel would likely pay good money to catch a livestream. Especially if it is linked to the reminder feature. Same for parents who can’t attend. Opportunity for a revenue sharing setup between publisher and meet organizer.

This is a *good* app. It's not a "great" app. But it is close. Granted, this is a "freemium" service. Free access gives ability to basically see the 'heat sheet'/plan for meets. The premium subscription ($6.99 US/year) is not a bad price at all considering this provides everything a heat sheet provides (for FREE in the app). The premium service just gives access to the RESULTS after the swims. If your child is a swimmer, this is probably worth the subscription price. FEATURE REQUEST: since there is no full-desktop-web-app, it would be very "nice" if the developers could add an easy way to export data to something like CSV format (which could then be manipulated in Excel or similar spreadsheet app). At the moment, I don't see any way to export results, you'd have to lookup the results for each heat/event/swimmer manually in the app and write it into a spreadsheet.
  • Glitches,etc. Updated! Feb 8, 2020

    By Laaaagen
My original review is below. Yes there are still some minor glitches, but the main issues I have had with the app; after talking with the support staff at meet mobile is not an issue with the app itself but with the meet managers submitting information to the app. If you are having similar issues with the app, it can be frustrating but I am happy to hear that it isn’t the app itself. This app used to be an amazing and quick way to look up placings, times, and splits; but somehow over the past two years it had gone down hill so hard. Constantly glitching, meets only being partially updated, clicking on one meet and being directed to a different one, etc. I am more than happy to change me review once these things are fixed but until then. This has become a 1 star app.

We’re in our 5th year of swim club. We mostly use this app during swim meets for the meet time line, as well as the heat/lane assignments. I will say that the app doesn’t always update in real time. Which I’m sure is more on the people running the swim meets than meet mobile. When we were total noobies, we made the mistake of leaving a meet during a 3 hour break and going by what events were marked as completed. We ended up missing an event, which was horrifying. Luckily, the officials let our kid swim her next event and didn’t scratch her....it was a valuable lesson.

Its alright. Lots of annoying things like not remembering what your meet was and having to search the meet 10 times a day. Toggling between events and swimmers isn't as fluid as could be. Watch out for the auto renew billing which should be illegal without an email warning that it is coming up.

  • I am shocked at all the 1* reviews Mar 7, 2020

    By Michele683
Eta: it’s so slow since i wrote this. So, so slow! Is this app perfect? no, but its pretty good. I have no problem with the annual 5.99 fee- I have very few glithces & results are pretty fast. Peope do reliaze that its up to the individual meet directors to feed this right? Real Time updates come in, but things change as soft touches, dq, etc come in & some meets are more efficient than others. Additionally, its up to the Individual Meets to provide heat sheet access, if its not available, then its the meet directors fault, not the app. it isn't perfect, but its better lately since a few glitches were worked out. But I do agree that the "favorite" swimmer is annoying, I expect it to take me to my kid IN that meet, but instead it takes me back to the all the meets for my kid, it did not use to work this way, so this is an update that is unwanted! 90% of meets that we attend are in here, maybe 40% offer heat sheets, so this would be better if it were higher, but the results are pretty real time and yes, you do see splits and relays- providing the meet directors supply this info. I don't think many people reviewing this understand how much is dependent on the actual meet, not the app. THe info is only as good as the people running the meet and timing equipment.
  • Descent interface but slow response times... Feb 17, 2019

    By ldbe1
Hi, my parents and I have been using this app for years and it works well for the most part but it is pretty slow. Whenever I search a swimmer on the search bar it takes almost 30 seconds or 1 minute to respond. Also there is a long delay for some of my events when I go to see my results. I am using the premium paid version of the app and I also have a very up to date iPhone 8 so there’s no reason that it’s a hardware issue. I personally will keep using this because I have payed for the premium service so it would be a waist of money to switch to another service. I personally have to recommend other apps for checking swim stats simply because they update faster and have better interfaces but otherwise this is fine to use.

While the app is a must for swimmers and parents, I'm not a big fan of this app because: 1. It is unstaband crashes too often (user has to close and restart the app multiple times!) 2. It glitches a lot, ESPECIALLY with regards to subscription. Even though I auto-renewed my subscription, the app will notify me that I have NOT and requires that I either update the payment method (it IS up-to-date!) and pay AGAIN by other payment methods. It happened EVERY YEAR (yup, just happened this year, too!)
  • May 1, 2021

It alerts me that there are new results for my child but when I go to view the results, it tells me that I am NOT a subscriber. I show that I am paid until February of next year but I still can't see results.
  • Wish there was a competing app Feb 23, 2020

    By Involuntary User
To put it simply, this is the most infuriating app on my phone, and the only reason I use it is because there is no alternative, and it is often the only real-time option, including the internet (sidearm stats, etc). Searching for meets is the first issue - sometimes you can get lucky and type one word associated with the meet title and it’ll pop up as an option - most times, however, that does not work and even finding the meet title via a swimmer search and then typing it EXACTLY as written does not result in a successful search. The main issue is how INFURIATINGLY SLOW this app is. It’s not an issue of the meet director taking his/her time to update the meet. It begins with clicking on the meet *wait :30-1:00*, then you need to click “Events” *wait another :30-1:00*, followed by clicking into the session *you guessed it - wait another :30-1:00*, followed by the event itself *diddo* and diddo for all of that if you want to go back. Think that’s agitating? A third of the time, the app crashes and you have to re-start the process all over again. Like I said, since USA Swimming refuses to create a competing app, MeetMobile has no incentive to fix these glaring issues, so I’m really just writing this in hopes that it gets seen along with other reviews, and the issues are fixed.

Waste of money. Paid subscription does not always show meets. For the meets that do display, updates are slow. In fact I found out the results quicker by waiting for my child to tell me directly, post meet.

This app worked years ago but now in these times where even parents are not allowed to watch in illinois high school swimming. Was really relying on this app and so far it has worked on only 1 of 5 meets.Might I add only 5 neets this season! It shows the meets but never gives me up to date meet results!!!Until they fix this issue dont spend your money on this app.

No family sharing, which is the worst of all. Kids' device requires parent account setup to access subscription which defeats parental controls. This itself is Lack of critical thinking or purely corporate greed. Lack time standard for meet, so users need to source from other app. Favorited swimmers removed from Favorite screen right away if done by fat fingers; UI should leave the swimmer on screen and only disappear after user leaving Favorite screen.

Pre-covid we enjoyed this app. But now, almost a year into the pandemic, why doesn't the virtual meet functionaly work better?
  • Very poor search function Oct 20, 2019

    By Momnoll
My kids swim local club dual meets, USA swim, and public high school league swimming. Searching for meets should have the same functionality as a Google search. Any part of a meet name should yield the full name as a search result. It does not do this. A meet must be named exactly as the hosting team lists it, but this is sometimes different than the name of the team and meet listed on the meet announcement. I often have to search for my swimmers’ names before I find the meet they are registered for. Location services also do not work. Searching “Meets near me” often yields only some meets near where I am, however, I still can find the meet by using swimmer’s name. It is frustrating that I pay for this app yet it does not work well particularly with the search function.

  • Good Resource but a couple of problems Aug 12, 2019

    By VADER1775
This app is a great resource, but I have noticed that it has gotten much slower in the recent past. When I click on an event or swimmer, it ‘spins’ for a long time and uses a lot of battery. Also, the ‘heat place’ function doesn’t work. It is always the same number as the heat. If the swimmer is in heat 5, heat place reads 5 regardless of the actual placement in the heat.

  • I want to love this app Jul 7, 2019

    By Mo5849
I really want to love this app. And when it works, I do! But it is very inconsistent. I’ve had the app for about a year, updating when available. But yesterday at a meet was a typical experience. For most of prelims in the morning the app was current and posting results almost immediately. But for finals? A completely different story. Some events have current results and others remain “in progress.” In fact, this morning the results of the 100 back, 200 IM and 200 fly are still “in progress.” And no, they are not the last three events- they are events 3, 5 and 8 out of 10 events. So many teams use this app to post their events that you are kinda forced to use it. I just wish it was accurate and timely ALL (or even MOST) of the time.
  • Great to track events; utterly frustrating navigation and search Apr 3, 2021

    By baltassoc
Meet mobile is great at presenting results of events, and even often (at the discretion of the people running the event) giving heat and lane information. It is amazing to be able to get results in close to real time whether or not you’re in the building. That is if you can find the meet in the first place. It’s frustrating that after almost a decade the of paying for this app, many of the basic UX annoyances remain: flipping between views that focus on your own swimmers to the meet in general are at best unintuitive and at worst (and mostly) impossible. This is exacerbated by a meet search function that is a mere alphabetic lookup instead of an actual search. “[Team] Spring Meet” and “Spring [Team] Meet” are searches that will produce vastly different results - and if the name in the system is the first, the second won’t find it at all. It feels like this app could be so much better with only a few minor changes and it’s frustrating they never seem to come. But I suppose as long as my kid is swimming they’re going to get my annual subscription whether they fix it or not, so why fix it?

Slow to update which events are in progress or completed and the times for athletes.

I love this app most of the time. However lately it seems to be super glitchy and takes forever to load when I tap on an event or swimmer. Any of it. A lot of the time it won’t even let me tap on it. It seems it needs to be updated. It’s been like this since the last update actually. Not liking it whatsoever. The search could be a bit better too. Only reason I’m giving a 3 stars. Would be 4 if it wasn’t so messed up right now. Also, the RealTime results are only updated to the app when the locations WiFi is working correctly. There have been times when I don’t see results until the next day & at times it never updates for some events.

It alerts me that there are new results for my child but when I go to view the results, it tells me that I am NOT a subscriber. I show that I am paid until February of next year but I still can't see results.

  • Faulty Subscription Oct 29, 2020

I am a swimmer of 5 years, and have faithfully always used this app! However, an update came around and my subscription went away! I was shocked because I had about 3 months left in the annual subscription. My family and I are on a family plan, and so we bought the subscription on a different phone and it didn’t carry over! I am unsure if this is a malfunction on the product or the app, but hopefully it will be resolved soon! Overall it original my worked really well until the update happened. **When I would go to buy the subscription on my phone through the app, it would get stuck on the loading screen for 20+ minutes.
  • No family sharing? Jun 25, 2019

Bought the annual membership in this app thinking my son and I could both use it. The description in the App Store says it supports family share. Turns out the information in the App Store is deceiving. Even though the app says it supports family sharing, the paid subscription is not shareable. So if more than one family member wants to see the meet results each has to pay for the subscription. And without the subscription the app is useless. So if you have kids swimming and you and them want to see the meet results be prepared to pay for multiple subscriptions at the same time. I cancelled my subscription.

I changed phones and subscribed for a year, and it is not giving me any information. But people around me are getting for the meet. PISSED, if not resolved I am unsubscribing and getting my bank to give me back my money

  • Why pay? May 20, 2019

I am a USA Swimming Coach as well as a US Master Swimmer. I get the idea of having everything altogether in one app which is great but at the same time there is so many cons that outweigh the good. First of all, you have to pay to know your results. You might as well stay after you finish your event to see the posting in person. They charge either 2.49 a month of 6.99 annually. You shouldn’t be charged to see what you swim. I get the fact hat you can favorite your own swimmer, but this is extensive. Second the app is slow. Overall, I’m disappointed with how much effort you have to go through just to see your swimmer’s and your own results. They should make it a thing in USA Swimming to post your results online easily.

Yes the app is free to download however to view any results or splits or anything useful you’re forced to commit to a subscription service (and we all know how difficult those are to get out of). The athletes are doing the hard part of actually participating in the events so I think it would make sense that they would at least get to see how they did. But apparently not. I suggest you don’t feed into giving these companies money for information everyone should have access to. Instead put that money towards buying yourself (or your child if you’re a parent looking into getting the app) a nice dinner after their competition.
