  • Pretty good, with lots of room for improvement Apr 12, 2018

    By plummm
The training schedule is just what I need, and the audio cues are great so I don't have to keep checking my phone. However, the audio cues (and haptics on Apple watch) only continue to work if the phone is awake with the screen on the whole time. With the recent software updates causing older iPhones to drain battery like a sinkhole, I've found my phone hitting 20% battery halfway through a training session, and that little notification window interferes with the app until you acknowledge it. Same thing happens with the 10% battery warning. So it would be nice if the app could continue to work with the screen off. Most people fun with the phone tucked away in a pocket or am armband anyway, so it doesn't make sense to require the antenna to be on there whole time. Also, now with the third generation Apple watches having standalone cellular capability, it would be really really nice to have the option of the watch app functioning independently of the phone. I hate lugging the phone around on runs, and constantly having to check the watch to make sure the phone isn't about to die and turning off the cues would allow better focus on the training.

I used this app to run my first marathon. I had never ran a race in my life, and only had experience with road bike races. I was intimidated with running a marathon but this app broke it down and made it easy to follow step by step, day by day. It has a really comfortable progression in distance and how you run the miles as well 3 min run/2 min rest, to 4 min/2 min, to 4 min/1 min, to 5 min/ 1 min, back to 4 min/1 min. I would recommend this to any first time marathoner.
  • Was working now it stinks Jul 14, 2021

I was pleased with the app at first. It now shuts off at random times, stops workouts, and is wildly inaccurate for distance. If a text or phone call comes in the app stops working. Tried a hard restart of iPhone and reloading app. I sent mails twice to report the problem, but have received no response, although it appears that the ability to deduct the payment portion is still working. I am training for my first marathon and this has put a major wrench in the process. I did use the app to train for a half marathon and it worked well.
  • Can’t turn off gps after run Jun 8, 2018

First day using the app. Run went great but the app is still using my gps and I can’t find a way to turn it off. Tried the FAQ and a quick google search. If I can’t figure it out soon this app is going to have to go.

This training schedule is working perfect for me. I especially like the voice feature. I think the app could be better if it incorporated some features that mapmyrun has like tracking distance and allowing me to post my run to social media. Being able to post my run stats to social media keeps me accountable and helps me track progress. As it is now I'm having to write my distance/pace down in a separate place and use a separate app to track it. I guess it's possible this app has that and I just haven't figured it out
  • Solid program Aug 18, 2017

Returning to distance running after a long layoff. Program works great with my full time job and family obligations. I use another app for my rides and runs but this is great for my training. Definitely recommend

Love the app. Everything is great. Would change up the intervals every once in a while and allow for edits of mileage for treadmill purposes. But other than that I love this app.
  • Great So Far Apr 2, 2018

So far I love it! I’ve been able to achieve (or come close to) the distance outlined for each week’s final run. I do have two suggestions. One would be that users know upfront: you don’t have to buy ALL of these apps- you don’t have to graduate from one to begin another... these are all beginner, C2___ programs. The second would be that the number of weeks be outlined! Instead of having to scroll through the entire program to find out how long the training will take. Aside from these flaws, I do like the talking feature and the “pace” is really right for someone who is just beginning, or beginning again.

I'm training for my first marathon and didn't really know how to train. Really glad I found this app! Tells me what to do and I can still listen to my music. Does the job.

Really good app. Almost perfect. Just needs to stop it from dropping notifications when you switch between apps. Could be a glitch specific to my phone but when I go to another app while running, it will stop telling me when to run or walk.

  • I want a refund please! Dec 19, 2019

    By swraia
Absolutely terrible. I really want to get my money back for this app. I used it two or three times and am very disappointed. The maps are not accurate, the plan is not customizable, and there is no way to access the data from each run after you close out of it! Plus, the training plan offered in this app is absolutely horrible. Only buy this app if you never want to finish your marathon.
  • No configurability to the program. Sep 20, 2019

    By runner.g
There doesn’t appear to be a way to input the date of the race you are training for, your current mileage or fitness level. It just assumes you are training to run 26.2 miles whenever its program is complete. There also doesn’t appear to be a way to see whole training program, just five days at a time. Two thumbs down.

I really like this app and I am using it to train for my first marathon but it hasn’t been working the past few day. I’m new to this but I really need this app to work so I can stay on track for my goals. I have deleted it and reinstalled the app but it still shutting down after the home screen pops up.
  • Why did I pay $9.99 Jun 26, 2019

    By Wanderer03510302
The app does not let you enter a logged run when you don’t use your phone or happen to forget to start the app. Can’t modify the duration of the time between starting and when Marathon race day is. If these two issues are available within the app, then it is not easy at all to find these features.
  • Every workout is run/walk! Jul 25, 2020

    By Pooh12346
That you means you partially walk every workout including the actual marathon. If I had known I would never have started using it. Run/walk is fine to start but I want to train to just run distances, not walk every 3-4 minutes.

  • Good app that could be so much better with a few more features Mar 14, 2018

The app fulfills it’s purpose of providing the user with a marathon training program. The application loses its first star for using local notifications to serve adds for the developers other products. The run day performance statistics lack real depth. The only statistic provided is how far you ran for each workout. I’d like to see distance per interval and average time per mile. The application really needs a volume adjust for the voice commands. As is I can barely hear them while listening to music.
