I hate tower defense games, however this is the exception. It has a cute plot that takes some surprisingly dark twists, but the characters are well written as well. The gameplay is a well balanced mix of tower defense and action. When you go fight and are about to die from low health you can run off and repair your turrets which can lead to some pretty tense battles.

I owned and have enjoyed many many hours of the original DS game. The story is excellent, the music is phenomenal, and the gameplay is very rewarding. That being said, I was a bit hesitant to try a mobile version of it, but it was a very good recreation of the original! Almost exactly the same art style, with a slight and unnoticeable touch up on characters. That being said, the music is slightly (and noticeably) different, and I dont enjoy that part, especially since the original soundtrack was so much more fitting. This music feels more rushed/fast paced, and Im not a fan, but the rest of the game is fantastic for an adaptation!

Overall, an original and charming game. Lock's Quest was one of my fovorite games as a kid, and I was thrilled to discover a mobile version. Nostalgia aside, the game has some shortcomings. Lock's controls tend to feel clunky and imprecise. Sections of the campaign are repetitive, and it gets tedious to play almost the same map several times in a row. That being said, I believe this game more than makes up for its weaknesses with unique gameplay, appealing visuals, and an intriguing story.

Loved this on the DS and am super happy I can now play it on my Ipad. Minor complaint is I wish I was able to customize controls. I'm sure it's fine on a phone but on the Ipad the joystick is huge. Otherwise awesome game!

I like the game, I played the original on my Nintendo ds a long time ago and was quite fond of it so I figured I'd give this a try. It is quite fun but keep in mind there are elements changed from the original, ie you dont build the turrents nor do you operate them in those sequences where you did in the original which is quite saddening as those parts were very fun for me personally. Art, music, writing and gameplay are and have been amazing, it's a rough diamond though.

Great game but could you possibly make the buttons larger? They are too small even on an iPhone X. There is still usable real estate available on the screen. Maybe make the buttons disappear after selecting to place what you are building.

I remember playing this on my DS lite when I was younger and having a great time. It’s a great rpg tower defense like game with a simple but great story. This port does the game justice and for $3 why wouldn’t you buy it?! I highly recommend.

This port is amazing from what I've experienced so far. No framerate issues, and it's optimized well for a single screen device. My only complaint is the controls work well but I do run into difficulty in using the analog stick efficiently; some fine tuning would bring this up to being nearly flawless. The tower defense-RPG style gameplay has held up so well; It's a hidden gem!

Looks great, enjoying the gameplay... curious about other “enhancements” from the DS version. Have all the timers been removed? (Haven’t encounter any yet during the build phase 😁). Thanks Handy Games!

Fun game, but the controls stopped working after switching to another app for a second. When I came back none of the controls on screen worked. Restarted the app and nothing could be pressed. The only way I could fix it was by rebooting my phone. Then it would work as long as I never left the app as soon as I did and came back the touchscreen no longer worked in it.

I wanted to like this game, but it just doesn't do it for me. The style and feel of the game are great, but the battles are tedious and repetitive. You have to repeatedly fight the same enemies on the same map with no story progression in between. The battle mechanics are more annoying than interesting (the button hit combos, "ratcheting" to repair, etc.) and the battles weren't even challenging, so you're pretty much just killing time until the game lets you move on. And how is this an RPG?

The controls dont work on mobile. I was in tutorial and they asked me to build more turrets and it wouldnt let me. It then needed me to repair my single turret, which I did, and left me waiting until I had to close the game. If they can fix the issues that make the game unplayable, I will re-purchase it, but for now I am refunding.

Mechanics for moving around and ratcheting are difficult and make it basically unplayable for all levels beyond the tutorial. Lock's movement gets stopped at the corners of buildings instead of fluidly continuing around them. Ratcheting requires lifting the thumb each time the ratchet changes directions, it's not one continuous, repetitive motion of up and down. Once those things are fixed, I will repurchase it and update my review. The story is amazing though and I can't wait to try it again.

Took out the best minigame, I used to love seige mode on my ds when I was a kid, I get Antonia defense but honestly the map for it is kind of lame but either way you didn't need to take out the minigame you could have kept both, would love to see seige mode added back

I loved this game as a kid, on the Nintendo DS. It has a great story, interesting gameplay mechanics, fantastic soundtrack, and is a unique twist on tower defense games. I truly believe this game never got the full recognition that it deserved. Especially considering this game was developed by 5th Cell, the company that created games such as Drawn to Life and Scribblenauts. Although the mobile port doesn't quite hold up to the original, I still highly recommend this game to everyone.

I want to start by thanking Handy Games for responding quickly and fixing a glitch within a day or two.... Now about the game, it's a great mix of a tower/castle defense game with a little JRPG thrown in. The story so far is quite good and keeps me reading instead of flying through it. Overall I'm enjoying it and am thankful they fixed the issue that had me stuck and I'm now moving on. When I finish the game I'll update my review more.

Controls were intuitive and graphics definitely better than original DS. It's an ok tower defense game with better narrative depth than most. If you're competent with TD, you'll find normal difficulty too easy. Have fun!

This game is fine. The narrative doesn't match the gameplay well, and the character progression is minimal. Also, it is frustrating that auto saves are before cutscenes but the ability to exit the game properly is after, forcing you to watch them before playing and before closing if you don't force close. Overall entertaining, but not without its issues.

The game gets repetitive and could maybe have some puzzle aspects added. The controls could use some improvement and were honestly the most frustrating part of the game. I did have fun playing in the beginning, but it just got too boring to play after a while

The game seems fun, but it's definitely marred by some rough controls. It's nearly impossible to get from one point to another without catching on a wall, which then makes it hard to get to a wall or tower to repair it. At this point I can't recommend it.
