  • I look SO forward to using my Living Scriptures streaming App Aug 3, 2018

    I love coming home at night and finding something uplifting to watch on my Living Scriptures App. I even canceled my Netflix recently because I wasn’t using it anymore due to always wanting to watch my Living Scriptures Streaming App instead. I absolutely LOVE it all but especially the documentaries about the USA Promised Land or the Book of Mormon Evidence (Hopewell Indians etc.) that is my favorite! I have a few friends that have joined LS just to see those videos! I love videos from on your site from Rod Meldrum and Wayne May and Ryan Fisher (Nephite Explorer) and from the Joseph Smith Foundation and we like the Skousen series too!! I can’t get enough of LS and I am SO excited when there is something new, especially in these categories! I’m also hoping you add videos from Amberli Nelson and Timothy Ballard to your list and more Nephite Explorer! I also love the The History of the Saints series and the docudramas of the Restoration and the Darin Southam movies about Christ on LS right now. My grandkids love all of the animated scripture shows. Basically...... we LOVE Living Scriptures!!!

    The shows are continually being interrupted by a green circle which I presume to mean streaming. That goes on for quite awhile. Then a few minutes of show and back to streaming. Spending more time watching a green circle than watching the show is not my idea of time well spent. I just have to turn it off and watch something else. Hope I haven't wasted my money as I paid for a year thinking it would be great.

    I’m giving this app 3 stars because the content selection is 5 stars, but the app itself is 1 star. Many of the live action videos are streamed at a poor resolution and the video occasionally stutters even while playing on a very fast 100 Mbps WiFi network. The biggest problem is that it is not compatible with iOS 11, which no longer has a system-wide airplay option separate from screen mirroring. As a result many video apps have an airplay option incorporated into the app, but LS does not. This leaves screen mirroring as the only option to airplay LS content. Screen mirroring has many setbacks for this type of content, including not adapting to the proper resolution for the TV (creating vertical and horizontal letter-boxing), continuing to show the status bar on top at all times, and the inability to use different apps or allow the screen to sleep while mirroring. The last app update was 5 months ago, prior to the release of iOS 11. This app sorely needs an update to catch up.

    I want to absolutely love this app. I love the content, but I'm having issues with streaming shows from this app onto my google chromecast. There are times when the show will simply quit and disconnect from the chromecast at the same spot over and over. Also, some of the kids shows are very short, but there's no option for auto play, so I'm having to set up a new episode every 10 or so minutes. And each episode always starts from the beginning, regardless of where we leave off.

    I grew up in loving scripture videos . I loved learning about Jesus and his life and ministry . These living scriptures videos helped develop my love of scripture reading. As as a child gave me good role models to grow up and having hero’s that pointed my to my Savior and my relationship to him. They also taught about prayer abd other good principles in my life. Thanks for all you do and for being a very good thing in my childhood and even now. I hope when I have kids they will watch them too. And can learn from them as I did. Thanks again living scriptures for your video s

    We had all of the Living Scripture tapes for our children as they were growing up. We have so many fond memories of watching them together. The tapes were such a valuable resource for our family as the basis of their scriptural knowledge. Now that our children have children, they are using these same videos to teach our grandchildren. And we also love the collection of other movies that are a part of the subscription! There is never a concern about watching something inappropriate with these movies. Thanks Living Scriptures for providing this amazing resource!

    this has got to be one best apps i’ve used... i probably use it at least 4 times a week. i really like to shows they’ve put in this, there’s good ones for sunday and FHE but there’s also some fun ones to watch in your free time that aren’t always churchy. i highly recommend this app for all ages. i really enjoy it personally and my whole family has it too and enjoys it. i haven’t really used netflix since this app even though it’s a huge difference. 😂

    I was shocked when I signed up for there free 1-month trial to find a variety of things. This should be available in every family home. Take it with you on trips to entertain the kids, or out when running errands! What an offer! I'm excited for each of their shows as well. Never have to worry about seeing the endless commercials.

    Stay away from Living Scriptures. I signed up for a $1 for the first month deal, and then canceled on their website within that first month. Then, a few months later, I got a past due invoice for $20 in my email. I called, and after spending 30 minutes waiting to speak with someone, I was told that they had no record of my cancelation. However, after about 15 minutes of taking with them, they offered to take off $10 and cancel my account. I agreed to this because I did not have an email or other document to prove that I canceled the account, even though I specifically remember canceling it online. (I should have remembered that with Living Scriptures, you need to have everything documented, because they will try to squeeze every penny out of you). Then, even though we agreed to the $10, they still charged my credit card twice (for $9.99 each), and subsequently did not remove the charge, despite my request. I would stay away from them. It is just not worth the hassle. The animated scripture videos are good, but their other content is not great (and some of it is very questionable, including things I would not feel comfortable letting my children watch--such as the one-sided and potentially misleading videos about Book of Mormon geography). And most importantly, their sales and customer services is just the worst. Unless you are certain that you want to pay $9.99 per month with no easy way out, stay away from Living Scriptures.

    We love the content but the app both on the android and Roku tv is absolutely terrible! I can't even get beyond the profile screen, says an error has occurred everytime I use the app. Uninstalled, re- installed, restart phone, nothing works. Roku app just as bad! Why am I paying for content I can't watch anywhere!? In the age of streaming services you have got to get yourself better in the game. Unacceptable!

    This app has some great LDS movies, so you’d think they’d run their operations in a pleasant matter seeing that they are representing a church organization. After I downloaded and signed up for a month to month payment plan they called a minor and had them commit to a 36 month plan for $1 off for doing a survey. A SURVEY?!??! $1 off for a commitment made by a minor can’t be held up in a court of law......After trying to get ahold of costumer service they where so incredibly rude, at one point the lady was raising her voice so loudly it was almost a yell. I can definitely post the names of the employees I spoke with. They wouldn’t cancel it until after I paid the $30 cancellation fee, I had to cancel my card because they kept taking money out of it! I am livid. If you are thinking about getting this app, I’d read more reviews and look into it. This company is very, very dishonest and to put it nicely are some of the nastiest most discussing people I have ever worked with. Stay safe and watch out <3

    All it ever says is "sorry, something went wrong" when we try and watch anything. We've tried uninstalling and installing a couple of times and that does nothing. Will contact the company next again. The first time we did they said someone was working on the app and to keep trying. It worked for a few watches and now "something's always wrong".

    App keeps freezing majority of time. When opening the app, no content shows. Loading icon keeps showing up and disappears but still nothing happens. No movie selection displays. Same thing happens when tapping on a movie, loading icon shows up for a few seconds and then disappears but still the movie doesn’t play; It stays on the home page. Also when searching a movie, nothing comes up when I tap search. It just stays on the home page. Doesn’t even yield any search results. It’s different from the “no search results” that appears when a movie is not available on the app. I tried shutting off the app and logging off and reinstalling it multiple times and it’ll work for a little but then shortly after it does it again. Disappointing because it doesn’t just happen occasionally but it happens every single time we go on the app.

    Cost more than Netflix and showman. It is taking very long to download like 4 houers on 2 movies. No thank you. I dont know, it is very very slow and I'm not sure if I like it at s. I wax looking forward to see Cokeville miracle but the movie is where?

    We fell victim of their promotion. We did enjoy the streaming service but we just weren't using it. When we called in to cancel it everyone told me I had to cancel with iTunes because they don't deal with third party apps and promptly hung up. There is no subscription tied to my iTunes account for living scriptures. I called another two times and had the same snippy rude response. We finally figured out after a couple hours of digging that you have to cancel on the living scripture website, not through a 3rd party. I hope I'm still not charged because I didn't receive any notice that I had canceled. Overall, poor experience. I will never do living scriptures again.

    The content is fair for the price. But the app needs lots of work. Currently not working on chromecast. The different series aren't easily accessible and when you do access it sometimes it doesn't have the newest version and not organized well.

    Very poor app. It takes forever to load. I can only watch a video via streaming. I can't watch a video that I downloaded. Pretty disappointed that we can't utilize this app while traveling. I will be cancelling my subscription

    These people will put you in a contract for 3yrs without telling you by offering you a $8.99 “Deal” I’ve tried to cancel many times and nothing!! They will charge you $30 to cancel your membership😡 I told them the lady never mentioned a 3yrs contract and they said they would have to prove it by recordings and would call me back. That’s what happened that last few times and it’s been almost a year this time I said charge the damm $30 and cancel my membership. It’s impossible to cancel so just stick to Netflix there not “Christian “ but at least it’s honest in transactions and you can cancel at a push of a button.

    This has been said elsewhere but I'll repeat to try and reach the developers. This app cannot cast to chromecast and I hope they fix it soon. I will change to 5 stars after that because I do love the service and the content and I want them to continue on for generations. Edit: they fixed the issue.

    My family and I love Living Scriptures! It has helped my family to watch gospel standard movies and videos which are hard to find in Netflix and other similar services. It has helped to introduce my 10yr old and 8yr old sons to scripture stories and gospel topics in a fun way. They are always bringing new videos every week which is awesome! I have recommended this video service to all my fellow church members and friends.

    What a joy living scriptures has been and will continue to be. This is what I had hoped living Scriptures would become many many years ago. Thank you for all that you do. Faith, Hope, Love, overcoming the obstacles of life together and with the help and hands of God. We have been contemplating dropping other services, which we have already scaled way back on. 😃

    This app is awesome for the wholesome movies. I love that about it. But they need to work on the timing thing with the movies. Whenever pause it it won’t work after that I have to close it a million times and pause and then start it again to see the movie. It takes like 30 minutes.

    The air play would work just fine one day, the. The option wouldn't even show up the next day. I do work from my phone, so I need the stream to come from the app, so I can still use my phone . However today, it won't give me the air play option at all. I give it 4 stars because I love the movies . Since I was a kid there seems to be so Much more! I believe at least hope these bugs will be worked out for more convenience for feeling the Holy Ghost , Above all, thank you for even giving us this stream option! Most of my children's younger years, were deprived because I couldn't afford them. So, now it's possible . And seriously, I would still keep them for me.😊 My review ( not complaint ) is to acknowledge that there is definitely a bug in the air play. I look forward to more options, like there being an app on my actual Apple TV. 😊

    It's a great app. Lots of good content. One thing I would improve is that when you look at the details of a movie and then hit back, it needs to save your spot of where you were browsing in the library instead of starting over.

    Since we subscribed over a year ago the app developers have been slow about fixing some of the bugs, but the major issues have finally been taken care of so I’m upgrading my review to four stars. The last feature I would expect from a streaming app is to make the Chromecast automatically advance to the next show in a series. If they can add that then I’ll give five stars.

    Content is great. But any additional profiles don't wotk. Also I'd love to find news in an easy to find place. Aldo, when selecting back to the main page it doesn't take me to me where I was last. I.e. The app scrolls back to the far left of the video list instead of leaving me where I was.

    Thanks for fixing the app so it works on my nvidia shield. Now can you please let me hide pay per view titles? It is very frustrating to see a title that I want to watch and then to be told that the app doesn't support pay-per-view. Why are you even showing these to me if I can't watch them? In addition, what's the point of subscribing to your subscription service if I have to pay extra for certain titles?

    You know, it is great for Sunday, and Children plus you will love it. Has inspirational stories too, Kid’s choice, and coloring books and FHE (Family Home Evening) lessons. Plus, so much more! 👶🏼👧🏼👦🏼👱🏻‍♀️👩🏼👱🏻‍♂️👵🏻🧓🏼 + LIVING SCRIPTURES = 💗 Now for the con, (😦) it costs SO much, like $2,000 for the channel! 😳😬😔 I think the creators are a bit money-hungry...🤑 But you know, money just doesn’t FLY to you. 💸❌ So, if you have $2,000 and willing to pay the bills, go ahead! Buy the great but expensive channel! 😀 Praise God always. He is our only God. 🙏🏻

Also when searching a movie, nothing comes up when I tap search. It just stays on the home page. Doesn’t even yield any search results. It’s different from the “no search results” that appears when a movie is not available on the app. I tried shutting off the app and logging off and reinstalling it multiple times and it’ll work for a little but then shortly after it does it again. Disappointing because it doesn’t just happen occasionally but it happens every single time we go on the app.

    Stay away from Living Scriptures. I signed up for a $1 for the first month deal, and then canceled on their website within that first month. Then, a few months later, I got a past due invoice for $20 in my email. I called, and after spending 30 minutes waiting to speak with someone, I was told that they had no record of my cancelation. However, after about 15 minutes of taking with them, they offered to take off $10 and cancel my account. I agreed to this because I did not have an email or other document to prove that I canceled the account, even though I specifically remember canceling it online. (I should have remembered that with Living Scriptures, you need to have everything documented, because they will try to squeeze every penny out of you). Then, even though we agreed to the $10, they still charged my credit card twice (for $9.99 each), and subsequently did not remove the charge, despite my request. I would stay away from them. It is just not worth the hassle. The animated scripture videos are good, but their other content is not great (and some of it is very questionable, including things I would not feel comfortable letting my children watch--such as the one-sided and potentially misleading videos about Book of Mormon geography). And most importantly, their sales and customer services is just the worst. Unless you are certain that you want to pay $9.99 per month with no easy way out, stay away from Living Scriptures.

    This app has some great LDS movies, so you’d think they’d run their operations in a pleasant matter seeing that they are representing a church organization. After I downloaded and signed up for a month to month payment plan they called a minor and had them commit to a 36 month plan for $1 off for doing a survey. A SURVEY?!??! $1 off for a commitment made by a minor can’t be held up in a court of law......After trying to get ahold of costumer service they where so incredibly rude, at one point the lady was raising her voice so loudly it was almost a yell. I can definitely post the names of the employees I spoke with. They wouldn’t cancel it until after I paid the $30 cancellation fee, I had to cancel my card because they kept taking money out of it! I am livid. If you are thinking about getting this app, I’d read more reviews and look into it. This company is very, very dishonest and to put it nicely are some of the nastiest most discussing people I have ever worked with. Stay safe and watch out <3

    All it ever says is "sorry, something went wrong" when we try and watch anything. We've tried uninstalling and installing a couple of times and that does nothing. Will contact the company next again. The first time we did they said someone was working on the app and to keep trying. It worked for a few watches and now "something's always wrong".

    Cost more than Netflix and showman. It is taking very long to download like 4 houers on 2 movies. No thank you. I dont know, it is very very slow and I'm not sure if I like it at s. I wax looking forward to see Cokeville miracle but the movie is where?

    We fell victim of their promotion. We did enjoy the streaming service but we just weren't using it. When we called in to cancel it everyone told me I had to cancel with iTunes because they don't deal with third party apps and promptly hung up. There is no subscription tied to my iTunes account for living scriptures. I called another two times and had the same snippy rude response. We finally figured out after a couple hours of digging that you have to cancel on the living scripture website, not through a 3rd party. I hope I'm still not charged because I didn't receive any notice that I had canceled. Overall, poor experience. I will never do living scriptures again.

    The content is fair for the price. But the app needs lots of work. Currently not working on chromecast. The different series aren't easily accessible and when you do access it sometimes it doesn't have the newest version and not organized well.

    Very poor app. It takes forever to load. I can only watch a video via streaming. I can't watch a video that I downloaded. Pretty disappointed that we can't utilize this app while traveling. I will be cancelling my subscription

    These people will put you in a contract for 3yrs without telling you by offering you a $8.99 “Deal” I’ve tried to cancel many times and nothing!! They will charge you $30 to cancel your membership😡 I told them the lady never mentioned a 3yrs contract and they said they would have to prove it by recordings and would call me back. That’s what happened that last few times and it’s been almost a year this time I said charge the damm $30 and cancel my membership. It’s impossible to cancel so just stick to Netflix there not “Christian “ but at least it’s honest in transactions and you can cancel at a push of a button.

    My only experience is reading the reviews. Downloaded only for a response. Description about app seemed wonderful for my grandkids who come over a lot, but then I read the reviews. A lack of any response by owner(s) to negative reviews, is disappointing. Doing right by users, would be to respond & let known what's going on, such as if there is a potential plan in the works for casting. Most important, would be responding if it's a Christian app or a Mormon app. For a Christian, it can't be both.
