  • Good app but... Aug 8, 2020

    By arthur david castel
We all love Mario and we all love LEGO but this app needs some work. problem one: online content. it’s not that I think anything’s inappropriate but it’s so annoying that you have to sign in to LEGO instead of just using it with your Nintendo account more people have Nintendo accounts then they do LEGO accounts I mean this is Mario right not the LEGO movie 2 movie maker. Problem two: not enough battery space. When we got this Mario set in the mail today and no this is not a review from aug 1st as soon as we turned the mario on he worked but when we downloaded this app the toy was already at 98% we do not want to have to give him new batteries every day. But other than that it awesome 😎 app 99% would recommend. -Arthur

App keeps crashing on the intructions and demos I get black and grey screen like its trying to play something but can't, it's is annoying as it you have to complete each bit before other is avaliable to read. Shouldn't work like that I have to revert to youtube videos to work out l what to do. Tying a toy to app like this is a bad move, doesn't matter how good the toy is if the app crashes.

  • Great app, but needs a bit more work. I still love it! Aug 7, 2020

The app is super great and good, I love it. But I have some problems with the app. When I build some sets and go back to see if I missed a step, it shows a box saying a problem occurred and when I press the OK button, it starts making clones of the box and it glitches, so it does crash a few times. And when I connect LEGO Mario, and finish my level I’m playing. It doesn’t show how I earned my coins that I collected. But sometimes it does show my results. I love the app, but again, it needs a little bit more work.

I was OBSESSED over getting this after I saw it. And, to be honest, it lives up to the hype! But my problem is with the app. I could trick it into thinking I had the paragoomba by using the regular one, and also the layout is strange and confusing. And why the HECK do you even have coins if there is absolutely nothing you can do with them!?!

Amazing! I love each feature especially the feature where you can share your awesome courses, even if they’re not so awesome. You can scan the courses and it shows what courses you have. It makes me want to collect them all! I have only seen a couple good courses so keep on making! I don’t even have LEGO Mario and I love the app, so sometime I will post my own courses! It will really help with building if you have any of the courses! But in the meantime, keep on building!

This broke Mario, halfway through update it stopped and said something went wrong, now keeps showing different icons on Mario's screen, won't pair with app and says batteries are dead even with new batteries in then it switches off!!!! Restored twice, now it just shows red screen, no icon and doesn't register any barcodes on the set, want a replacement

Why couldn't they just put instructions in the box? The app works fine but I wish Lego would stop making me have to give my phone to my 6yo whenever he wants to play with Lego. Also, drains the battery so fast, my child kept having to stop while building a small set to recharge phone so don't know what we're going to do when he gets larger add ons. Also, horrible of Lego to presume children will have access to the internet and a smart device or printer. Only wealthy children can enjoy toys.

Disappointed in Lego for switching to app only or self printed building instructions. Both methods are not practical for everyone. My kids do not have their own device so I have to give my phone just so they can build, which is inconvenient. Plus, this app wouldn't even load properly on my device. App could be fine as extra but I want included instructions in the box. All children deserve to build Lego even if they don't have reliable internet connection or printers

Hello. I have a problem with Lego Super Mario. He is just stop working, don't scan the barcodes. Does not collect coins. Color distinguishes and sees suits. It was not physically damaged, stored neatly in a box, each set in separate bags. We play in android app from google play. Completely removed the application and knocked down all the settings and rebooted, all that is possible. Nothing helped. What should we do? The son was very upset, this is his favorite toy now.

What a perfect app! I love the 3D building instructions and all, so everything is good to go. But, the LEGO Super Mario series could have a major wave 2. For the Character Packs, LEGO could make Bullseye Bill, Cheep Cheep, Deep Cheep, Spiny Cheep Cheep, Mecha Cheep Cheep, Bomb Boo, Whimp, Swoop, Mecha-Koopa, and Snow Cheep Cheep. For the power-up packs, Gold Mario, Ice Mario, Frog Mario, and Tanooki Mario. For the expansion sets, Iggy’s Lava Flow Boss Battle, Larry’s Rhomp Roll Boss Battle, Lemmy’s Tox Bonk Boss Battle, Ludwig’s Grindel Thwack Boss Battle, Morton’s Spindel Sprint Boss Battle, Roy’s Chain Chomper Boss Battle, and Wendy’s Bomp Blast Boss Battle.

This app is a great app, but you’re gonna need LEGO Mario for it. It has a Bluetooth button behind it allow you to connect it. If you don’t have LEGO Mario, you can review this app still! You can see people’s LEGO creations with the LEGO Mario! 10/10! Excellent app! People are also complaining that the game crashes? I didn’t crash for me! But overall, THIS IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH LEGO!

Love mario but only gave 4 stars because when I want to listen to music and use mario lego set at the same time I can only log onto 1 blue tooth at a time. I love to listen to music and do lego at the same time so something needs to be sorted out cause not everything has an aux cord attachment and if it does then my phone needs to be by the device and im not going to move the table to my stereo or able to move my stereo system into my kitchen so this is not the best idea. They need to come up with being able to hook upto a few different blue tooth things at once to solve this issue cause I'm not going to buy another device for mario lego.

Although I do like this app, I wish we could collect more coins without having to scan the pipe and end with the flag. Also, I would like to be able to rearrange the collected sets on the home page to modify how it looks to your liking.

  • Decent app, but battery drain Sep 7, 2020

    By g-man423
This is a decent app and I love the Mario interaction with LEGO. The app is easy to use and the building instructions are clear and well organized. However, this app drained my iPhone’s battery from 100% to 10% in about an hour. The battery drain was specifically attributed to this app. I realized that it’s a work in progress and I’m confident that it will get better. Right now, though, I’m limiting the app to just building and haven’t been able to spend much time with it while playing with the LEGO set and experiencing the Bluetooth integration with Mario.

  • Serves its purpose Sep 14, 2020

Not here to review the actual product, as amazing as it is, I’m here to tell you to step up you’re game. Most of LEGO’s software is horrible on performance, as they lag or take up too much space. All issues I’ve found with the app as I will list below, seem to be caused by one big issue: the app is more than 1GB. PLEASE LEGO IN THE FUTURE MAKE THINGS MORE LIGHTWEIGHT!!! ITS TOO EASY TO RUN THINGS ON YOUR BEEFY COMPUTER!!! Issues: -Laggy -Loading time is several minutes (all loading screens regardless) -Drains battery (~10% every 2 minutes) -Crashes when loading instructions for large models (specifically Bowser’s Castle) -App is greater than 1GB No need to tell you my device’s stats as every issue is mentioned in at least one of your reviews, AND NONE OF THEM ARE THE PHONE I AM USING!

The app is fine but with an ASD child who has limited screen time - hence buying a Lego Video game - it is annoying that you have to download an app or go online every time you need instructions. A hardcopy instruction book would have been so much better than trying to explain to an autistic child why they can't have the instructions today as they are on a screen!

Okay, so my mom had got these Mario legos and I was like lemme get the app for the directions. I was almost done with the set when it suddenly blacked out on me and I was like it’s fine because it’s just one...so far. Then, it blacked out on me 3 more times! I thought it was my music that was causing the blackouts so I just shut it off but then it started blacking out again. So, I’ve just decided to look at the picture but I didn’t know what pieces to put.

Game freezes a lot took me 10 min and 6 trys to finally get to the instructions, while building the set it wants you to watch videos after every small assembly and for people with very slow internet makes it a lot longer till you can play, give us back paper instructions, plus this is a kids game and lego is meant for kids to be creative and so they don't play with there phones and now your required to play with you phone to ay you lego set, not good..

Had to download a 800mb app and update the little lego Mario before I could even access the building instructions for the set. The app is full of unnecessary videos and content, and the instructions are buried behind unnecessary steps. Nothing about this app is helpful or fun. My nephew was ECSTATIC when he first got the set and then got more and more disappointed when he learned he couldn't play with it until we got the app and the Lego Mario working. What an awful design decision. 0/10
