This game is great! I played Knights of Pen and Paper 2 so the mechanics were in that one as well, but I just like this one better. The gameplay is your typical turn based combat and open world discovery, but the selectable difficulty in combat is great! It helps when you only have a few party members. The character creation is great! There are stereotypical chracters from pop-culture you can choose from, but they come with passive abilities that mix well with other classes. 5/5!

  • Amazing but you should add more DLC‘s Jul 12, 2018

Love the game spent a while doing stuff and now I defeated everything there’s nothing to do and I don’t want to restart because it’s too fun and I worked hard for my characters and already worked through the hunted fall DLC now there’s nothing to do also there’s some weird glitches as well like the characters that you’re fighting start to disappear always so maybe you should do an update for that and make the game a bit more longer because like I said it is really fun just make it longer I know you made other games but this is just my favorite so please make it longer

A great game, however, it didn't fit on newer, larger devices, so be careful where you tap.

First off, I love this game. I put easily over 100 hours into it on multiple devices a couple of years ago. I decided to re-download it after I beat the second game. However, I want to know what happened. This game hasn't had an update since 2015 and there are still many graphical bugs. Almost anything that moves floats off screen, including (but not limited to): Enemies, Primary weapons in combat, pets (like the mana-steal robot), beds when resting, and sprites in the blacksmiths menu. It has been over 2 years. I'm disappointed that Paradox can't take the time to fix these simple bugs. If this were fixed, it would easily deserve more than 5 stars. If you can get past the bugs, it's still a great game.

  • A great game, but it needs some fixes. Jan 8, 2017

    By (why no update)
As a experienced player of P&P, i can say this is a very good game for those who want a D&D styled adventure. However, when i converted from using a iphone 4S to the 6S, i noticed an issue that causes the enemy and weapon sprites to move away from the screen. It would be better to play if the bug was patched.

In the first minute, this game absolutely captivated me. You select your player, your class, you sit down, and... whoosh! The narrator begins, the backdrop rolls back, and you find yourself in a half tabletop, half visualized story. Absolutely amazing. That was all the game has to offer. Once you get past that first battle, there is near-zero story, narration, development. Each location has a single setting, there is no exploration. Each character has one go-to skill that you use in battle, but even if you use multiple, the strategy for every battle is pretty much the same. I got pleasure for some time from the simple act of leveling up, filling up the empty seats at the table, etc., but in the end it felt like wasted time since it all builds to nothing. Cool concept. The opening showed what the game was capable of. But the rest of the game, it turns out, is nothing but grinding for grinding's sake.

The fact that there's no option to get your previous saves because the paradox registration is dead is the very reason why a lot of returning players of this game hate it now. Paradox has literally killed this game by inadvertently killing off the option to cloud save your progress.

I'm gonna give up, I really do love the game but the most recent update (2 years ago) made it unplayable. Do not buy the game, it is broken and will never get fix, I think.

I'm a long time fan of this game and have enjoyed off and on for well over a year. Normally I have no problems with giving a game like this 4-5 stars, but several glitches exist in the iOS version that range from annoying to completely unfair. If the sprites aren't moving off of the screen (enemies and status effects included), then the definite lack of grindstones is the most annoying, which prevents you from upgrading the blacksmith early in the game without spending all of your hard earned gold. Even late-game, you'll grind gold and drops just for those stones in order to not waste time or money on failed upgrades. This is a great game and under normal circumstances, I'd recommend it, but without a fix of some sort, I can't give it more than it deserves.

The game did not fill my phone screen so I could see my home page while the game was playing and accidentally open a different app. Also registration was broken and did not allow me to create an account. Asked for a refund ASAP.

The only things I would change is; Number of items you can hold Number of items you can sell at one time More weapon choices Take off weapons an armor from the holdable items And be able to zoom out on the map
  • Can't get enough, but please fix bug! Dec 29, 2015

Very fun, simple game. You can play it for hours or just do a couple quick quests on your lunch break. Love the unlockable classes. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a good old fashioned RPG with D&D rules and environment. There's a lot of great pop culture references in there also. Great game! The bug is causing monsters and other sprites to wander off of the screen.

A real gem on mobile! It's very much meta gaming, but proves that meta gaming can be fun. I love that you play interesting 'real-life' characters who are playing the fantasy RPG. It's turn based, which is hard to find on mobile for some reason. I love being able to take my time! The best thing about it is that you get to choose what to do. You aren't forced to do things in a specific order (though you may sometimes find that you've wandered into maps that you aren't ready for yet.

  • Decent little game for brief play Apr 1, 2017

Its a nice little game but the gameplay is repetitive and basically turns into a very very long grind at level 30. It has also taken to annoying the heck out of me at startup with trying to force logging in to Apple's GameCenter. I don't use GameCenter and I don't WANT to use GameCenter.

I love the game, love the style, but for some reason enemies slowly drift right in step with their Sprite changes, and whenever a player character stands up for their turn they briefly have a second copy of their heads overlap their first. Besides that, I love the game so far.

  • Great game, weird bug Sep 22, 2017

It’s quite an enjoyable game however there is a really weird (and annoying) bug. The monsters and status effects slowly travel across the screen until they are completely out of view. All you see are their shadows. It doesn’t break the game, but it makes it really hard to keep track of status effects! Please fix, Paradox!

The game is really nice, but it made me lost my campaign because the sign up system doesn't work and somehow it deleted my save.
  • Bug? Where's everyone going? Dec 26, 2015

    By Tokeruwolf
The monsters keep wandering off my screen. They just slowly move as a group to the right until they're offscreen... And they don't come back.. Is this a known or fixable issue? Started after fighting 7 elite giant rats in default village Update - save files disappeared. I read about this in other reviews.. This is a grind game. If your grinding gets randomly undone, the game is unplayable.

After have played through in the past I came back to try the DLC. On the IPhone 5S the monsters float and move to the right until there off screen. Then to attack them you have to click the shadow where they were. And for some reason the standard attack icons move down and to the right, dislocating from there squares.

  • Bugs, bugs, bugs Jul 17, 2017

As many people have mentioned, this game is riddled with bugs. The enemy sprites and status effect animations will move off screen to the right. I clicked out of the game thinking it would save automatically. It saved my characters' levels and my quest completion, but did not save the items I had bought or the level of my blacksmith. Like what? This is an old game, how could it be so broken?

  • Great game but bugs Dec 16, 2016

Long time fan of this game, such a unique concept that I think is very well done especially for a mobile game, however after coming back to it after awhile, there's a bug that causes enemy sprites to slowly shift off screen as well as your melee attack icon, while far from game breaking it is very annoying as I have already mis-targeted enemies multiple times because of it, definitely 5 stars if fixed

I heard great things about this game so I purchased it. I tried to register for a Paradox account and it won't let me move forward. It isn't frozen, just refuses to register and let me play. I'll be going back for my refund now.
