Would give this a five for various reasons people have already pointed out and while I can still enjoy the game these glitches people were talking about ... why are they still here ? Lol I assume these minor issues would've been fixed by now at least ... seriously ?? while minor it diminishes the play experience at times .... can you guys do something about the issues that people have been trying to get your attention on for what seems like eons please ? We spent money .... this game deserves a five, seriously guys fix it ... k thanks bye.

Love the game spent a while doing stuff and now I defeated everything there’s nothing to do and I don’t want to restart because it’s too fun and I worked hard for my characters and already worked through the hunted fall DLC now there’s nothing to do also there’s some weird glitches as well like the characters that you’re fighting start to disappear always so maybe you should do an update for that and make the game a bit more longer because like I said it is really fun just make it longer I know you made other games but this is just my favorite so please make it longer

First off, I love this game. I put easily over 100 hours into it on multiple devices a couple of years ago. I decided to re-download it after I beat the second game. However, I want to know what happened. This game hasn't had an update since 2015 and there are still many graphical bugs. Almost anything that moves floats off screen, including (but not limited to): Enemies, Primary weapons in combat, pets (like the mana-steal robot), beds when resting, and sprites in the blacksmiths menu. It has been over 2 years. I'm disappointed that Paradox can't take the time to fix these simple bugs. If this were fixed, it would easily deserve more than 5 stars. If you can get past the bugs, it's still a great game.

A real gem on mobile! It's very much meta gaming, but proves that meta gaming can be fun. I love that you play interesting 'real-life' characters who are playing the fantasy RPG. It's turn based, which is hard to find on mobile for some reason. I love being able to take my time! The best thing about it is that you get to choose what to do. You aren't forced to do things in a specific order (though you may sometimes find that you've wandered into maps that you aren't ready for yet.

Not all iPhone users have the newest biggest screens, this once beautiful game used to run flawlessly aside from the minor glitch every now and then, but with this larger aspect ratio, I can’t conceivably play this. It’s not fun. Please fix this. I can’t see the full screen! I’m running an iPhone XR and this game is just disappointing. It feels like you broke it on purpose just so I would have to buy pen and paper 2, which is not cool guys. I paid money for the app, let me continue to enjoy it.

This game is great! I played Knights of Pen and Paper 2 so the mechanics were in that one as well, but I just like this one better. The gameplay is your typical turn based combat and open world discovery, but the selectable difficulty in combat is great! It helps when you only have a few party members. The character creation is great! There are stereotypical chracters from pop-culture you can choose from, but they come with passive abilities that mix well with other classes. 5/5!

I'm not a huge fan of playing game who already exist on computer ver., But this game is just in exception. Huge replayibility, a filler for your daily game to play it casually. Maybe this game would cutely stay in my phone now or future. I'm more JRPG-centric person and I didn't know about any D&D, but, well, because of this game, I learnt about that stuff.
  • A great game, but it needs some fixes. Jan 8, 2017

As a experienced player of P&P, i can say this is a very good game for those who want a D&D styled adventure. However, when i converted from using a iphone 4S to the 6S, i noticed an issue that causes the enemy and weapon sprites to move away from the screen. It would be better to play if the bug was patched.

Very fun, simple game. You can play it for hours or just do a couple quick quests on your lunch break. Love the unlockable classes. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a good old fashioned RPG with D&D rules and environment. There's a lot of great pop culture references in there also. Great game! The bug is causing monsters and other sprites to wander off of the screen.

This is a lovely game i owned on my ipad 5 years ago. what bugs me in this version of the game is the fact that it doesn't fill up the screen (bottom part is my phones background), and the game auto-rotates even though i turned that off on my phone... apart from that i like the re-experience.

  • A really long one trick pony Feb 10, 2016

    By Bleu Whale
In the first minute, this game absolutely captivated me. You select your player, your class, you sit down, and... whoosh! The narrator begins, the backdrop rolls back, and you find yourself in a half tabletop, half visualized story. Absolutely amazing. That was all the game has to offer. Once you get past that first battle, there is near-zero story, narration, development. Each location has a single setting, there is no exploration. Each character has one go-to skill that you use in battle, but even if you use multiple, the strategy for every battle is pretty much the same. I got pleasure for some time from the simple act of leveling up, filling up the empty seats at the table, etc., but in the end it felt like wasted time since it all builds to nothing. Cool concept. The opening showed what the game was capable of. But the rest of the game, it turns out, is nothing but grinding for grinding's sake.

Used to play this game and loved it. Re-downloaded to find that you need an account to save your progress. Not a huge deal (STILL ANNOYING AF), but the deal breaker was when nothing happened when I tried to register a new account. Kept hitting the "register" button which depressed, but nothing else would happen. Shut down the app and restarted, same issue. The game's good, but not good enough to put up with poorly implemented afterthought features.

  • A wonderfully fun game utterly broken Jul 25, 2016

    By Sir glidus
I'm a long time fan of this game and have enjoyed off and on for well over a year. Normally I have no problems with giving a game like this 4-5 stars, but several glitches exist in the iOS version that range from annoying to completely unfair. If the sprites aren't moving off of the screen (enemies and status effects included), then the definite lack of grindstones is the most annoying, which prevents you from upgrading the blacksmith early in the game without spending all of your hard earned gold. Even late-game, you'll grind gold and drops just for those stones in order to not waste time or money on failed upgrades. This is a great game and under normal circumstances, I'd recommend it, but without a fix of some sort, I can't give it more than it deserves.

I started with KoP&P back in the original version. they upgraded to the +1 and I had to start all over, okay then Paradox bought them and I had to create a new account and lost all of the upgrades I had bought, not cool. Now I log in and I get ! Updating cloud storage and any hour glass that spins for eternity. The game is unplayable. Will not pay money to Paradox ever again.
  • A great game that Behold now neglects Jul 12, 2018

    By Hexar418
I am a big fan of Behold Studios’ games. They have made some of my favorite experiences on this device. That being said, once they release a game they tend to move on too quickly. If you have a newer device, do not expect it to work well with this game. My iPhone X doesn’t crop this game well in portrait mode. This has only gotten worse over the life of my phone and the most recent update was just too much. It wasn’t great before but now it is too far to be enjoyable to play. And I don’t even know if they ever fixed the bug where the sprites would drift to the right. I just dealt with that for years thinking “oh they’ll fix it eventually”. Don’t hold your breath.

  • Seriously? May 6, 2017

    By Alone no more!
Aside from the annoying glitch where your enemies drift off screen slowly, this game's characters are awful. Like just pointless sexism over and over again. Ugh. A dungeons and dragons game where they make jokes about how women are dumb and their only character trait is caring about their looks? Real classy you guys. This could be a cool game if the developers wanted to make it relatable to all players (and women are play phone games the most you know), instead of white guys who have nice guy complex and cry while swiping through tinder.

Don't waste your money. This game isn't fun nor does it respect your time. Gear upgrade has a 60% chance to fail and you don't get any gold back, gold that is a pain to gather in the first place. You can upgrade the blacksmith with grindstone which are expensive, or you can farm them by traveling between two spots, constantly, for hours on end. Each new crafting level increases success chance by 5% but the number of grindstones needed just increases exponentially. Game doesn't always save eit

    By Draconicfart321
I have played this games since the necro came out but there is a new bug that causes things to wander off screen, it is not a bad bug but it sure is annoying when you are fighting 7 off these things and they confuse the targeting system.

I made a review for Knights of Pen ans Paper 2 before but i wanted to make one for this game. This is the superior version, just a solid turn based RPG that doesnt feel like its trying to nickel and dime you. The combat is simplistic as is the game itself, but unlike the second one, THIS one is actually fun. Save time on the second knights of pen and paper and just play this one instead

Love the retro feel. Leveling up new PC's to reasonable power levels with existing PC's is easy. Would like the game expanded more. Bought the one expansion and it was not as long as I would have hoped. Now all I can do is level up to go dragon hunting but that does get boring. More expansions till reaching lv 30 would be cool to keep the interest going. Overall still very fun and I enjoy it.

I just recently bought this game on sale on the Nintendo Switch and its still the same great game. Thank you Paradox for making this masterpiece I look forward to all your company has to offer. Thanks for reading have a great day.

Pretty good effort at emulating old-school dice RPG's. Seems to have slight balancing issues with enemy levels (@lvl 10+) & skills/mp consumption (you'll see what I mean, use that to yer advantage) ..if you liked table top gaming you'll probably enjoy this. The game costs about as much as a McCrud burger so buy it & support these folks & hopefully they'll stop with all the account signup nonsense & analytics and just focus on game content..
  • Decent little game for brief play Apr 1, 2017

Its a nice little game but the gameplay is repetitive and basically turns into a very very long grind at level 30. It has also taken to annoying the heck out of me at startup with trying to force logging in to Apple's GameCenter. I don't use GameCenter and I don't WANT to use GameCenter.
  • Wandering bug Dec 17, 2015

I love the game, love the style, but for some reason enemies slowly drift right in step with their Sprite changes, and whenever a player character stands up for their turn they briefly have a second copy of their heads overlap their first. Besides that, I love the game so far.

Bought this several years back, saw recently that they made a second one and decided to reinstall the first. I don't remember my login so was just going register a new account, but once I enter in the info and click register, it doesn't do anything, just sits there. So, I downloaded it on my tablet and when I open it, it freezes everything. I remember loving the game and the second one is fun too, but I'm just really bummed I can't go back and play this one again.
  • Great game, weird bug Sep 22, 2017

    By Philodept
It’s quite an enjoyable game however there is a really weird (and annoying) bug. The monsters and status effects slowly travel across the screen until they are completely out of view. All you see are their shadows. It doesn’t break the game, but it makes it really hard to keep track of status effects! Please fix, Paradox!
  • Bug? Where's everyone going? Dec 26, 2015

    By Tokeruwolf
The monsters keep wandering off my screen. They just slowly move as a group to the right until they're offscreen... And they don't come back.. Is this a known or fixable issue? Started after fighting 7 elite giant rats in default village Update - save files disappeared. I read about this in other reviews.. This is a grind game. If your grinding gets randomly undone, the game is unplayable.
  • Just came back and... Jun 21, 2017

After have played through in the past I came back to try the DLC. On the IPhone 5S the monsters float and move to the right until there off screen. Then to attack them you have to click the shadow where they were. And for some reason the standard attack icons move down and to the right, dislocating from there squares.

I liked this game a ton when i started. But eventually battles stopped being interesting as i had a repetitive pattern I'd just keep doing. Late game becomes a grind and is mind numbingly repetitive. But the art, story, and gameplay style are funny and well produced. just wish it had more to offer.
  • I get there's a 2 but you can keep this up to date Apr 26, 2016

The games fun don't get me wrong but I would like the devs to look back at the game once and a while. The dragging Sprite isn't a terrible big issue but it would be nice if they could come back to this game to fix this issue.

Long time fan of this game, such a unique concept that I think is very well done especially for a mobile game, however after coming back to it after awhile, there's a bug that causes enemy sprites to slowly shift off screen as well as your melee attack icon, while far from game breaking it is very annoying as I have already mis-targeted enemies multiple times because of it, definitely 5 stars if fixed

As many people have mentioned, this game is riddled with bugs. The enemy sprites and status effect animations will move off screen to the right. I clicked out of the game thinking it would save automatically. It saved my characters' levels and my quest completion, but did not save the items I had bought or the level of my blacksmith. Like what? This is an old game, how could it be so broken?

I would love the game more but my webroot is telling me there is a virse or something on the app. I never had this happen before with anything I have ever got from Google play store. Other wise it's a great game and has only been happing since last update. Hope it's not build in adware or spyware. But ya great game other wise. If I do not get a reply soon I may report the game for having a virse. Edit: I have now reported the app so Google can look into what the unwanted software could be within the app my webroot is telling is harmful to my device.

After multiple updates still not fixed, enemies will slowly slide off the screen to the right and text is not centered in bubble anymore it is aligned to the right. Still playable but kind of a distraction watching enemies float away.

This is a great game however it is now ruined to what for me is a game breaking bug, the character sprites just move to the right until they are off screen, never returning. Fix it now please because I wish to play again.
  • Good game but bugs Feb 16, 2017

This was a great game when I played it a couple of years ago. Now there are some issues. Most notably, monsters slide out of view during combat. This makes the experience unsatisfying. It's sad they no longer appear to be supporting this game.

Game doesn't always save eit

i remember this game being really cute and fun, and played it a lot a few years ago. i went to try it again now and was prompted to make a new account? i was disappointed because i am worried that i will not have aby progress saved from my original play through. I but i dont know if that is true because the register account screen appears to be broken, after you fill out all the he fields the submit button doesn't work. feeling double disappointed.
  • Not so free anymore Jan 2, 2019

I downloaded this and unlocked everything and now I come back and there is a new “diamond” currency that you need to unlock the furniture and characters I already had. I click restore purchases but the extra dlc stories and classes I already had don’t come back. The best part about this game was that gold could be used to purchase almost everything. Not money is needed even if I had already paid to unlock it. It’s sad. This was a fun game too.
  • Beware! iPhone XS Max users! Oct 12, 2018

    By Flakes Garv
Let me start with that I really enjoyed this game when I had it on my iPhone 6. I owned this on another Apple account, so I recently repurchased it and to my dismay the game is totally unplayable on the XS Max. It’a extremely zoomed and unplayable. Heck, I can’t even log into the game because of it. I feel like the game’s aspect ratio was never updated to newer devices. I had to go through 3 live chat supports to get a refund because it wouldn’t let me do it manually. TL;DR DON’T BUY IT IF YOU OWN AN IPHONE XS OR XS MAX.
  • A lot of glitches Dec 24, 2016

    By Tansey214
Please update this game, there's way too many glitches. Enemies and DOTs moving off screen, enemies going invisible (it's not an enemy ability, they're glitching and disappearing with only their health bar showing). The player attack icon on the fighting menu moves off screen. Just so many glitches. If you're going to keep your game on the App Store and, more importantly, if you're going to CHARGE MONEY for a game and have in-app purchases in that game, you HAVE TO issue updates to fix things like this. Both of the Knights of Pen & Paper games are full of glitches and bugs (the second game crashes CONSTANTLY) and the lack of updates is disappointing because they're both incredibly fun games. Please devs, fix your games!
