For a math app for kids, it's really good. Unlike most math apps, there are games, worksheets, videos, quizzes, and much more that most math apps don't have. They have plenty of math topics to get a kid to learn different their mathematical knowledge. Also there is a difficulty bar to help boost skill on a certain topic. You can also print the worksheets, which can help you learn outside of your phone. Overall, I'd say the subscription of the app is really worth it.

  • Great app Feb 6, 2019

I’m a 41 year old autistic person who was always struggling with math and a visual hands on learner. I used Cuisenaire Rods when I was younger.I got this because I’m curious on how the Singapore Math method works. It’s very colorful and starts off with concrete then goes to numbers. The only bug I came across so far was the last activity on money in the first grade. It showed a quarter and I tapped the 25 cents option and nothing happened. Please fix that.

  • Good app for kids Feb 11, 2018

I used to do singapore math back in elementary school, so i wanted my children to do the same. Honestly, it is just so much better than the public school system math. I have my kids in private school and i keep them on educational apps, and this one is their favorite. They get to use their electronics and learn at the same time, and i think that is amazing.

Unlike any other math learning application for kids, this is actually aimed at teaching basic math with regulated quizzes, puzzles and prizes that makes it seem more like a game, not a teacher so the kids are very interested in the app which is surprising for a educational application. Love it! The app is actually based on a real and respected learning method so you can be sure it'll help them prepare for school.

  • Good app! Feb 7, 2018

Why I love this app is that the direct communication with the users and having zero ads whatsoever. Competing applications are full of ads are very unsafe for kids that are not actively supervised. My kid had problems understanding geometry with the regular books but the shapes and videos in the app made it easier for her to understand. Great app for kids that are going to the school soon.

  • Beware this is not free and a subscription Oct 28, 2019

Had no idea a free app can automatically turn into a monthly recurring charge. I think my wife downloaded this for my 5 year old thinking it was free and I just saw that I had been billed 3 months even though they deleted it after a couple days because it was not a a good app. Either way I think this app is outright fraudulent so beware...

Let me start by saying this app seems beneficial to my child. But I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and every time I open it there’s no sound. The first time I downloaded it it was fine. All the other games and apps on my phone are working just fine. I don’t understand how this is not working.

You should pay, and pay, and pay every month just for using this app. More of that, app very stupid and cheap, it is made not for people it is made for making money. You can find much better for absolutely free, don’t buy this garbage, don’t give your money to such greedy developers!

Yes, use can 'cancel at any time' but I don't like being forced into buying something before I can preview it.

  • great for extra practice Sep 2, 2014

With the kids back in school, I am constantly on the lookout for fun and educational games for them to play. That is why I love Kid’s Academy so much! They have a ton of different games for the preschool and kindergarten age group. What is even better is that the kids do not even realize that they are practicing their reading and math skills. Instead, they are just having a fun time playing games. I think that any time that you can get a child interested in learning, it is obviously a good thing. Kid’s Academy provides many different options that your kids can use for self-directed learning. My son’s current favorite is this puzzle game where you trace the numbers and get to fill up a firefly jar. He is practicing his numbers, and having fun at the same time! I was compensated for this review, however, the opinions are my own.

  • Basic Math Made Fun! May 12, 2016

    By Hoper86
Kids Academy is probably the top company out there for free, fun, educational kids games there is. We have enjoyed using many of theirs, and this one is no exception. I like the ability to adjust for the child’s age to ensure the games and what they are learning is at the appropriate level. As always the app is fun, bright, and entertaining, meaning that children will actually enjoy playing the games and learning about numbers. The only downside to this is it looks like you’re more limited than normal unless you pay for the full app (I think about $6.00). That’s not bad though when you consider how much this will help your youngsters, and how much they’ll enjoy playing it in the car, at the doctor’s office, or sitting at home! They’ll learn about cardinal numbers, skip counting, shapes, and counting from one to twenty.

  • straightforward and effective Sep 13, 2014

This is a straightforward game to teach your child about numbers. It has them tracing the number in order to collect fireflies and fill a jar. You can also create a little profile for your child including a picture which is kind of fun. What I thought: It's a really cute concept. I thought it would be way too hard for my daughter who is barely 3 years old, and it is still a bit beyond her, but she definitely improved over the last couple weeks of using it. However, I'm not sure if the tracing with her finger on the touch screen will translate to actually writing the numbers. With the free version, you only get numbers 1 to 3. It costs $3.99 to access all the numbers with an in-app purchase. The parent area is appropriately difficult to access, but when my daughter clicked on it she couldn't get back to the game which was frustrating for her. What my child thought: To my surprise she kept coming back to it, despite not being very good! She did ask me to do it for her a lot, but that is also how she learns - by observing. As I said, she got better and now she can do the 2 sometimes. :)

  • A math app my daughter asks to use! May 12, 2016

    By Greenmama78
Keeping up with things like homework and educational activities has been tough. My younger daughter is one of the youngest in her class, so she needs to work to keep up. She also sees her older daughter using math programs at school and wants to be able to do that too. The Kids Academy math app is a great way to get her learning and reinforcing what she has learned at school. She has fun using the app, so it isn't as much of a struggle as other math activities. The app is easy to use. To begin you do have to sign up for a free trial. As a busy parent, it can be tough to remember that I need to cancel if I decide to do so. So that is the only thing I might change about the app. This app is so easy to use, and my daughter has no problem navigating through the menu and use the different activities. The bright images and narrator make the program all very friendly and inviting. Overall a great app whether you want to get your child learning new things or if you need something to reinforce what they have learned (or both!). This is the only math activity my daughter actually requests!

  • Perfect Age Appropriate Game May 14, 2016

    By Parsimonious Pash
I have been sitting here playing through the application to see what it is all about because my niece will be three soon and she loves to play on her mommy's iPhone. I know she will be needing some fun educational games to keep her occupied sometimes since there is a baby in her house and occasionally her mom needs to focus on the baby rather than the toddler. I believe that the games in this application are age appropriate and are a great way to teach your child at home when they are young. It helps you to be able to keep your child at home instead of enrolling them in pre-school or pre-k classes. I do recommend this application if you are looking for a free educational tool.

  • Solid foundation, has some issues Jan 4, 2017

    By LarissaR
I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old. We are using my iPhone 5c. We put the app through its paces. The format is cute and engaging. It took a few minutes for my kids to figure out how to get the games to play. An animation or some indication that they were supposed to make a choice would have been helpful. During the games there was a lag between my child choosing the correct answer and the game response, so my child thought the choice was incorrect. This was frustrating. The videos are clear and present concepts well, but many videos opened a webpage and navigated us away from the video and the game, sometimes causing the app to crash. These issues make my children less interested in using this app.
