WONDERFUL but i have a slight problem
Aug 30, 2018 Super duper app i absolutely love it, its easy to use, worth the money, and it enriches my life. However, slight personal issue: I had to redownload the app to update it (my phone is dumb) and before i did i exported all my written songs to google drive. Afterwards when i tried to import them back i could not find a way to do it? Before it updated i could export them from the drive to the app but the app doesnt show up as an option anymore. Basically reimplementing that feature would be nice as i still am in the dark as to getting those songs back in the app :(more -
Nov 26, 2020 Great application Iuse to Notate (Write/Document) my Songs with. It makes it easier for me to © Copy Right and Protect my Songs from JIVE TURKEYs! -
Easy to use
Apr 8, 2020 My only complaint is that the playback doesn’t differentiate between articulated notes and regular notes. It seems to play everything as a regular note. -
Dec 30, 2020 Best for composing -
Especially now!
May 2, 2020 How much worse the lockdown would be without iWriteMusic! The pause gives me time to make something my fellow singers and my great-grandchildren might enjoy.

Very good, needs some changes though
Jul 17, 2020 It’s great... can you include the trills and repeat bar lines? -

Gives Finale a run for its money
May 3, 2012 This app is an amazing tool for any songwriter. With the ability to create an orchestral movement on the go, this app is a must have. I play the piano, and this app has helped me compose music while balancing my busy school schedule. The app has almost all the tools one might need. The program alerts you when you have made a mistake, it allows you to copy and paste entire sections, saving you a ton of work. It also plays back anything you write so that you can check yourself for errors. With numerous built in presets for timings, keys, and and octaves, this app is easy to use, and at it's low price, is a great deal. I have only had two problems with this app so far. First off, if a song is becoming lengthy, the app has a tendency to crash, causing me to save my work frequently, or risk losing what I've been working on. The only other problem is that the program seems to be missing a grace note feature which I'm sure they will add in a later update (hint).more -
Not too bad but crashes
Sep 1, 2012 I bought Maestro and was very disappointed, then got this one and I love it except for two things: It's very practical and extremely easy to use, but crashes way too much and tells me to close my background apps when there aren't any running, as well as everything else incoming off with the wifi as well. Secondly, I noticed that some of the functions, such as trill and fortepiano are greyed out; you can use them but they don't work in playback. I wish that worked. Other than those minor things, this app is totally worth the purchase, and way better than the other apps. iWriteMusicProject, please fix these few things and it'd be perfect! Thanks for creating!more -
Very good HOWEVER:
Aug 4, 2013 This is a really nice app for only 2.99, However, It gets lags and crashes every 5-10 minutes, so I'm constantly losing work unless I save all the time, which I will do anyway. Closing background apps as suggested did not help. I am using the 4s. I would rate this at 5 stars and pay a higher price, say $7 if it didn't crash, and $15 if it didn't lag or crash. Will still try to use, thank you!more

Superb, but frustrating
Sep 2, 2017 I've had iwritemusic for years, and upgraded to the full version not too long ago. The app's mechanics and features are excellent thanks to a straightforward system and a wide array of options. Sadly, there are some issues that have been around since the app's debut. The most troublesome problem is the fact that the app crashes... A lot. The device I am using is a bit old, but is updated and more than capable of running the software, but crashes happen at an alarming rate and it has been this way for years. The other main issue is with the playback feature. Options are very limited in this regard. Dynamics are not represented. Instrument keys don't seem to carry into the audio playback. Other than these problems (crashes being the biggest issue), iWriteMusic is quite a good option for anyone trying to compose or arrange music on a mobile device.more

What’s Groovy
There are some bugs I found. After play the score in editor mode, sometimes the input buttons at the bottom still disabled. I need to switch to view then jump back to editor. There's a glitch in "more" sub menu display when in portrait. Some buttons got cut off. But so far, this is the best notation app I found.

What’s Subpar
I am a professional musician who notates all my own piano music. I used to love this app because it was user friendly and easy to use. Now it’s impossible to not change the pitch when ** I am trying to change the rhythm. Tenutos turn into something else during use. What used to be a joy to use has now become a chore. If these issues are not addressed I will take my business elsewhere.
