Love the game overall, I’ve been playing this game for months and I actually took a small break for about a week or two. But it’s literally the only game I play on my iPhone now, you’ve done an amazing job and I love the characters within game. I’m so fond of the gameplay that I normally have a hour or more gameplay sessions a couple times a day. Though there are a few things I would like to see, such as being able to view the character models as well as being able to find new players to be your friends or to invite them into your order/brigade. Other than that I absolutely love this game and it’s found a permanent place on my phone! That’s saying something after I delete a game after the first couple hours to see if I like it, which is pretty rare in my case. (Update) 2/10; After playing this game for awhile now and there’s only one thing I wish would change for the better. Is the option to change the divergence of a character after selecting one. I understand you can switch between “Law & Chaos” but to revert them to their normal neutral selfs would be nice to or at least make those who are “neutral” to be used for either side regardless of divergence.

So far so good. Should add a way to view the character sprite. The free daily 10-draw event helps building my team a lot, but character building is rather slow because affinity took too long to max and the astremblem is so rare. Also please add continuous auto battle/skip battle, but please without ticket just stamina, HD character sprite, UI improvement, thank you.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I just had to with this one. For a gacha game, this is probably one of the greatest (and most addictive) that I have ever played! The main story is interesting, but I’m a little more motivated by the side stories. I loooooove the class system in this game, and being able to choose between the Law and Chaos. I LOVE the Arena mode and Idola battle mode—both are so much fun and feel very rewarding! There is quite a lot to do in this game to keep you busy, and it was a little overwhelming for me at first. Once I got the hang of how the different modes worked, I fell in love. They all take a different type of stamina, and they all seem to replenish fairly quick which is nice. I think it’s neat that there are different art styles for different characters, and the artwork is just so appealing in this game. And the music? Just phenomenal. I love that it’s also available on iTunes!! I can’t wait to listen to it while I’m at work. What I love most about this game is that NOT ONCE have I felt pressured to spend any of my money to progress. If/When I do spend money, it’s for the gacha and I have NEVER felt as though I’ve wasted my money. Even if I don’t get the character I’m aiming for, I feel I usually get something of equal or greater value. I can’t wait to see what sort of content we get in the future! Thanks for such a wonderful game! ❤️

The game is good, but not for everyone. After completing the story missions and starting the "daily gameplay loop", the game really just becomes a chore. The grinding in this game is really tedious, and the gacha doesn't have the best droprates out there. So if that's okay with you, then download. If not, just skip.

*overall great game, combat is amazing, and a strategic masterpiece as well as questing/ Idola battles/ arena/ and continuous events are all well done. I just feel like the UI needs some tweaking but little things like the things below would make our lives easier and a much more pleasant experience* Equipped items should have a icon of the user on the bottom right corner of the item “Inventory” should not have to take like 3 buttons to reach it same goes for “party set up”.. we want to be able to across them quicker Optimization.. every button I press has practically almost like a loading it’s stressful when you accidentally press the wrong button or when you want to do something quickly but you have to deal with going through several button presses to get to your destination Total “Combat Power”.. when I auto set up the game knows which characters are stronger than others I ask myself what’s the difference of power from specific heroes.. Showcasing stats with equipped weapons base stats are useless, let’s see how much stronger they are with their equipped symbols and weapons Destiny Divergence, before reaching destiny divergence we should be able to see their skills from Law and Chaos so that we can pre plan our new set up team, I have to go back forth to try to see their skills comparing it to other heroes to figure out if they would be better of at Law or Chaos

I love this series and played the JP version too in the past. But, You really need to fix the writing and the translation! I'm a translator and there are so many mistranslation and poor choices of words that makes the dialogue and story uninteresting, childish, and doesn't fit the character and story at all. This game has wonderful story but the way you translate it makes it doesn't have a good writing at all. This is a very good game and you will ruined it if there are so much bad writing.

Bad statt. Doesn't even notify you what's going on, is it loading, lag, hang, or what?! It just plays the song and nothing happens (after choosing nameDOB and after reset). New players will just uninstall this game if this is not addressed right away. Wasted data, time and effort.

Game caters to the whales. Their half year anniversary has all the good loot locked behind an event for extreme whales, 'generously' giving away garbage characters no one would ever use. Paid banners are generally a scam, requiring you to pay 40-50 USD for a 33% chance for the banner character, while filling the remaining slots with trash C or unplayable tier characters.

I’ve played a lot of rpgs and I have never had this issue, but honestly, the fight animations make it basically unplayable for me. They are so abrupt with the zooming in and character movement that it hurts my eyes and makes me a bit dizzy to the point where I started getting a headache. I like the character art, music, and voice acting from what I experienced, but I can’t keep playing this game if it’s just going to hurt my head. Please make the zooming smoother and not so rushed, even when removing the fast forward animations and playing on normal speed it felt too abrupt.

Trulys disappointing. Even if you download all those GBs of data, you will still find Loading...loading... and loading... OR connecting... 3x. Gameplay? Nothing special for 7GBs of data. Just the usual auto turn-based. The art? Awesome...but no clue or hint to view the 2D art in full screen without obstruction. I find how to view it full screen by chance. The UI really looks like half hearted job. Things are not where we expect them to be.

i feel that it's awsome all in all!! it has great art, many events and game modes and the story is nice! i would like to point out a mistake i found in the daily mission. the Enhancement of Fire does not have a super but rather 2 superiors. XD its just a small mistake i found for some reason so i thought I'd point that out for y'all!

I’ve, by and large, avoided the freemium lottery games with assorted bundles of purchased currency. I’m trying this because I play Phantasy Star Online 2, and there’re some trivial tie-ins. Anyway, it’s pretty good so far. It’s daunting, to say the least. There are a whole lot of systems at work, using various resources. The game gives you a quick, sequential run down on doing everything once, but doesn’t really leave you with an understanding of how you’d want to ration your resources in the future. Pay-walls in this sort of game tend to be fairly inevitable, so I hesitate to waste resources early on what may or may not be trash. That said, I appreciated at least one cameo from PSO2, the battles seem like they’ll get pretty strategic once the kid gloves are off, and the presentation is crisp. I’m going to run with it for as long as it shows a modicum of respect for my wallet and time. I think it’s worth trying for anyone into the PS universe.

I have never enjoyed a mobile game so much, the beginning had a impactful first impression with the boss fight and the music sound track. Games like these are the ones i wanna be seeing adds for. The story is what really has me interested, working on the last chapters. Drops rates for the best characters are meh at best and there is a lot of grinding but all in all i do enjoy the game.

I do like this game and has been an enjoyable experience thus far, but I feel like one issue preventing the game from gaining more attention is the fact that it doesn't offer the account link with PSO2 (the IDOLA point system). Personally, I don't see a downside for having the game be able to link with PSO2 like the JP version does. There is potential, but it feels like the game is being hindered from it (such as SG prices when compared to other popular gacha games).

  • A simplistic return-to-form for Phantasy Star Sep 23, 2020

    By AkaSpade
The battle system in particular reminds me a lot of the battle system used in the Genesis Phantasy Star games, and I’m all for it. Needless to say, the gacha elements do sour it a bit and outside of actual battle, there isn’t a whole lot going for it. I like the concept of switching between two different parties, it really helps spice up the battle system, but at the same time the very small amount of skills that each unit has really takes away from the complexity. If anything, this is both a step forward and backward for Phantasy Star, I’d love to see this battle system improved on for a single player title because I feel that the fact that it’s a free to play mobile game really takes a lot away from what this game can be. All in all though, this is a very enjoyable game if you’re a Phantasy Star fan.

Well another Gacha game to test out before I delete it.... I didn’t delete this game by any means. I liked it a lot more than I should of. Visuals are great. Seeing it being a japan/Asian country title in 2018 it seems to have lived up to what it is today in 2020. Characters are just speaking with no art movement. Just, a weird thing happened in this game where the characters you play form a zodiac sign to beat up baddies. Story is t that great but characters are cool and Gacha seems cheap and fair and not toooooo expensive to get you going in no time. Top quality sound track though which is 4 stars in my book!

I enjoy the game and the artwork but I had give a low rating because guilds are pretty much useless; the only use a guild has is to chat with others but so many common words are censored its to frustrating to even bother make friends. If you don't mind playing a incomplete game solo give it a try, but if you're looking for a complete experience try out Epic 7.

I've been playing the game for a couple of days and its pretty good for the most part! You can beat missions without having to bring in other people as support (slightly more challenging), and the voice acting is fantastic! The only things I have issue with is the characters and items being in the same banners / rolls. With the gatcha being as expensive as it is, having items mixed in with characters feels a little pointless and almost wasteful. I would either separate the two or lower the cost.

Having a great time with the game. The animations are great the music is fantastic the characters are charming and the story memorable. Wonderful job there team. Just got a couple requests/concerns: 1. No auto-repeat. This is mandatory for these types of games. 2. No scrolling community chat/player updates so the game feels empty. 3. Upgrading characters takes WAY longer than it should. Upgrade mats are way too rare. 4. No pity system whatsoever. Unacceptable. 5* game if fixed 3.5* as is...

So downloaded this cause played the Disgaea demo, and had a lot of fun there now with this game, what worries me now is the cost in gems, and the pulls with the rates available is not only laughable, but of course you need 5 to max break a unit. I hate this trend in mobile. Events get progressively harder so don't expect to be able to grind out those. The games combat is interesting the switch thing is cool, and the idola system, sadly gonna uninstall.

I was so excited to see something Phantasy Star related that I could actually play when I first pre-ordered this game. Imagine my disappointment when I launched it to find nothing more than a clone of the usual gatcha games that seem to be flooding the App Store. These types of games are somewhat enjoyable but to pass this off as Phantasy Star is absurd. Nothing about this game celebrates the legacy of one of my favorite franchises of all time. I would be very happy to see a new single player entry or a proper port to the North American Switch for PSO2. Please! If this is the best we can get the. I’d rather just let it die.
