I don’t think I’ve ever been more pleased with a phone game before, I think it’s great in so many different ways, it can be challenging, it tests your patience at times, and great enough to keep you engaged. I was pleasantly surprised having downloaded it after watching an ad that only showed a mini game you get from time to time and not the actual game itself. Incorporating various silly, and charming characters, as well as the mansion and helping Austin fix it (who btw interacts with you to a certain degree if you pay attention to the dialogues) have been great incentives to keep on playing. I absolutely love this as it sort of gives the game a purpose not just merely to “keep on going” ((like candy crush)). I’ve sunken more time in this game than I care to admit but I don’t regret it, I enjoy my time playing and quite honestly look forward to it. It’s not like other games either, that make it incredibly tedious and near impossible to keep advancing ((l’m looking at cooking fever and it’s gem system -_-)). They include tournaments and events to help you earn more things that help you progress. While the coin turnout after each game could be better and the price for another 5 extra moves could be lowered, I have personally enjoyed the game overall and will keep playing indeterminately.

  • Funny characters, hard play, low payout Sep 2, 2020

The ad for the game is quite tricky because it’s really not the actual game you play but an small game inserted in between passing few levels. Nevertheless, I got hooked because of the funny characters. It is enticing that you start of playing for a long while due to the freebies of life you gain that as a newbie you won’t know to save for later. You rack up 6-9 hours of free time at start but who can really play continuously for that long. Wasted free play time. The payout isn’t really much and the cost to continue the game if you want to finish it is 900 when you very rarely get a payout of a 100 for each game you complete. I feel the difficulty of the puzzles is set up to make you finish the puzzle by replenishing your coins hence you buy because you’ll rarely have enough coins saved up due to the expensiveness acquiring 4-5 extra turns. Nothing more frustrating than a turn or two and you’ll be done but are out of turns. Most of the puzzles seem to be set up that way. So here I am $30 and barely a week of playing later at 299 level got a rude awakening I have spent so much because I have no control😅 so time to delete this game. The puzzles are very difficult but can be solved after trying sooooo many times after waiting for your life to replenish (which by the way replenishes fast) or purchasing the coins which I did a lot but no more😄 Devs: loosen up on them puzzles please and have mercy if your prices for added turns 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Rewards aren’t sufficient Oct 16, 2017

I have played many, and I mean MANY, games such as this one in my lifetime. I find them to be fun and even addicting. Although the concept of the game is great, and I’ve only been playing for a short while, something needs to be improved with the coin/lives system. Getting around 50 coins per mini-game, which can take multiple lives to complete, isn’t sufficient enough. In order to buy a life, 900 coins, you would have to play around 18 rounds just to get enough coins for ONE life. I do not pay money on games, never have never will, but it’s so frustrating that you may have one move left and instead of paying real cash, not in game coins, you have to wait for a life to replenish just to try and fail at the level again. Each round can take 10+ lives to complete, and it takes quite awhile for the lives to replenish. There should be some kind of reward opportunity other than completing a day, especially because you need to play the mini-games to get stars, in order to complete tasks, to complete the day. That’s a lot of tasks to do with not a lot of lives/coin rewards!!! If there were events where you can play other mini-games to gain rewards/treasures I think it would be more efficient. I also think 28 minutes is a long time to wait for one single life. I don’t want to give up on this game with not a lot of time put into it already, but if there is no improvement, I might have to.

I wrote the same thing on Gardenscapes to let players know.. I'm letting all of you know that think you have to pay to beat a level is not true. Yes you can pay for the coins and stuff if you want. But it's just a matter of trial and error. I'm on level 289 and have not spent a dime of real money. I only use the coins I earn and the prizes I win with the calendar and events, sometimes it doesn't work out and I don't beat it but it doesn't mean I have to pay to win, I spent weeks on a level before keep trying don't give up and when you finally get a good set up the satisfaction is greater when you win. I love this game with the storyline it brings. I love trying to guess the new area when the other is complete. Same thing goes for Gardenscapes both are amazing.(and I'm on level 559 without spending money) Both games for all levels trial and error. Don't give up don't get frustrated. Support the developers by keeping the games. You can buy the sales offer. But just because you can't beat a level in a certain amount of days or weeks doesn't mean it's set up to where you have to pay to win. All levels in all games are made to be beaten without pay or upgrades. Paying to help doesn't mean you'll beat the level then. So don't get mad at the developers.

Homescapes is a good app. Not amazing but it’s good. It’s cute, it’s colorful and you feel accomplished when you fix the tv or replace the chair. The characters are nice and honestly kind of funny. 😄 and I’m glad you guys even included pets in the game! I like how everything is tried to kept decorated around the house. I like Homescapes much better than gradenscapes just because the colors and the graphics are better int my opinion. At least the game is a little better. The problem is you have to get stars from playing one game only. And even on a hard level you still get 1 star. It’s annoying how fast your stars run out. What’s even more annoying, it’s that sometimes you have to give one of your stars just to open a box, that you’ve already given a star for box to get to the house! What I’m saying is give more chances to get stars. Like as a prize. Instead of just money, give us a little money and a star! Or have different games besides just the one game to match the colors. Another thing is that it takes so long to complete one floor or one area of the house because of how limited of the stars you have. So I suppose you should just focus on the star problem because it will fix this one of taking so long! 😆 Please take this into consideration. The game would be much more entertaining and exciting if I didn’t give up so much on the game. Thank you 🐘🐘🐘

I enjoy this game, however, I do not appreciate the extremely misleading ads. I wanted a brain teaser not a mindless matching game. That being said, it's a decent game but many of the levels are extremely hard to beat if you don't want to spend money. I agree with what others have said. Some levels are to the point of no longer being fun. I find myself playing this game less and less.

At first it seemed like a good game, until I got stuck on one level what is impossible to beat without paying real money, basically they force you to spend if you want to progress further, so I think that I will uninstall very soon, because if it's money greedy at the very beginning, what can I expect later on! So be careful when you download! -----And after a while I uninstalled it!!!

  • Love the game but.... Aug 30, 2018

I am at level 498 and I love the game. But when you have 10 more moves left and you win the level you are lucky to win 58 coins?!?! And you just better break out your dollars because some levels you will be killing yourselves to win. Like 498 level I am not going to spend anymore money on this game. And the few moves it gives you to play and the purple blocks that has the bugs in them good luck they get much harder in higher up levels. This level it has the regular white blocks that grow but the purple ones you have to kit them 2 to 3 times and they grow back just one to two moves after you remove another side. To get extra coins for more lives or boosters it is a lot of money for what little you get. 900 coins you get 3 this. And 1900 coins you get 3 globes. The lives run out so fast and sometimes my friends send me lives I see them and play one game go back to collect the life because it won’t allow you to have 6 life’s and it is missing. I am in the room right at the stairs I forget what it is called. Looks like another living room to me. The outside green house it felt like it took years to finish the plot line. I wish you could request the boosters but place them where you want them if you want them in the game. Like they would be added to your side menu but not dropped down in the puzzle because it places them and there would be a awesome move but the boosters messed it up and you only can use the boosters there is no other move.

Sucks big time. You can take this game and shove this up your...... Wastes all my life and coins. Won't let me past the level. Don't have enough moves to get past one of 3 screens and when I do all I have left is 3 moves and none of my 4 donuts are off the screen. Edit: yeah I'll give it an edit. I'm done. I don't want anymore of your games. Delete. Done. I gave it a longer time before I delete. Sick it.

Seriously, I want to see the level designers beat the hard and super hard levels without boosters and coins. Please humor me. The worst part of this game is sometimes being stuck on a level for not just days but sometimes several weeks at a time. That is playing 3-4 times a day most days. Sorry, not willing to shell out any money to POSSIBLY pass the level. If it was a for sure thing, maybe. Decent game overall otherwise.

  • Long time player..... Sep 22, 2019

    By Fritog
I love this game, have been playing it for quite some time. It’s my “go to” favorite. I’m somewhere around level 1100 or close to it. Some levels are hard to the point that it gets ridiculous. Some of the hard levels are easy or perhaps it’s just luck to win them. I have spent days on a level and get frustrated and then dont play for a while...but i still really enjoy this game. You CAN win every level with out a power up. You DO NOT need to spend any money on this game, patience is a virtue (so they say). I have spent money and lately I haven’t. The one thing i do agree with most reviewers on is this... to buy a power up costs wayyy too much money for the amount of coins you receive for passing a level. To continue a game (at 900 coins) for a move or two costs a fortune considering you really don’t win much. To buy three hammers costs too much (1900 coins). I realize they do want you to spend money and i have but even when you spend, it doesn’t give you much in return. I mostly just wanted to let people know you don’t have to spend money to win this game...and yes, some of the tasks are eye rolling but....its still a fun game. Even if you don’t feel like playing, you can still receive a daily reward for logging on.

Wonderful great fun can`t stop playing, but I don't like the way the game try and make you spend money. It keep you on a level for a long time. The game cheats sometime. I still like playing, keep me up sometime all night. 5 star I still love playing this game. I have to make myself take a break. Playing the game relieve stress. 5 star give you something to do with the coronavirus. At least you are staying home and being safe.

Very entertaining game, addictive & the rewards are fun and give you options..The boards arent fruit which is a nice change for this type of game. Idk why I just really like it....WAY better than Gardenscapes. hate fruit matching games. UPDATE 2 YRS LATER: Still playing this game..still enjoying it just as much as before! I don't want to know how many days worth of hours I've spent playing this 🤫. I love the seasonal/holiday updates and changes to the scenery. There is always so much to do!

So, after playing for some time now, I see the flaw that caused me to remove a star and ask for an update. In the developers' other games that I play (Gardenscapes and Fishdom), there are events and challenges that occur often, granting rewards and prizes that help keep you going. In Fishdom, there is Herman and the Bathyscaphe, daily gem and coin rewards for feeding fish and cleaning tanks, the Lightning Ray challenges, and often there are Treasure Chest rewards for beating levels. There are also achievement awards, although I suppose the "day completed" bonuses in Homescapes may count like an achievement. In Gardenscapes, there is a Rose growing challenge with treasure rewards and a fireworks league event that offers great prizes. Often you get power ups and unlimited lives for periods of time. This keeps you going in the game. However, thus far in Homescapes, there have been none of these things, and I find myself stuck on hard levels that could really use power ups or extra turns, and no way to obtain more coins or specials without spending money. Since that would be a bottomless pit, due to the never ending nature of these games, I find myself tempted to abandon Homescapes. I still want to help Austin refurb his home. Please update with some of the reward earning events that are used in your other games to help keep us going.

  • Well developed game Jan 17, 2018

I do indeed enjoy playing this game. I play it normally thru out the day. It helps the time go by quickly. The only thing that bothers me is the hard and extra hard part of the game. I realize that it breaks up the monotony, but, I spend days sometimes trying to beat the level. But, it is good that the hard and extra hard are few and far between, so it’s not overwhelming, it’s a good change of pace. And, as others have said, rewards are few and far between as well. Especially with the hard levels, the rewards are just this: your normal level low coin reward is doubled and you are rewarded with one extra star. I know you have to make money in this venture, but, your doing it to the detriment of your customers. There is a reason we play games that say that they are free, it’s because a lot of us do not have the funds to use actual money to progress farther in the game faster then the other players that can afford to use their hard earned money. In conclusion, I think this game is well worth 5 stars, however, I did only give it 4 stars on account of the hard and very hard levels & the lack of well deserved rewards. I think there should be better rewards and it should be a little easier to get stars. Just my opinion for what it’s worth. But, great game!

Fun game with appealing characters and satisfying sound effects! However I have been unable to complete any of the make-overs, despite having ample tickets. Nothing happens when I click on the area to be decorated except a burst of stars that fade away. There is nothing added. I have reported this to Playrix but have only been directed back to the self help pages. This problem is not listed. Update from 2019: The make-over/ re-design problem persists.

  • Interesting Game... Can Be Improved Mar 5, 2018

    By satansniece
I simply adore Homescapes. It is fun and easy to learn how to play, and it kills time while making us think. I believe the new tournaments are fun, but it needs more. The levels need to make it so more coins can be earned. If I earn the minimum coins per level (50) and play 10 levels, it still isn’t enough to get a retry on a particularly hard level. Now I do think the fact they are called “Hard Levels” makes it better for us to prepare, and definitely the coin amount there is worth it. But in order to pass a level, I spend almost 6-8 hearts if it’s extremely time-consuming and hard. There is still the issue with more prizes. I like the daily bonus, but after the seventh day, it sent me right back to the first day without any prizes. I believe it should be after the 7th day, you get all the prizes from day 1-6 at the same time, and then day 8 and on should have more until you reach every seventh day again. It’s a good way to make people play the game. There also need to be more tournaments that don’t give prizes based off places. I never get first place in the plane tournament, but in the knitting ball one, I got a lot of prizes and it made me feel more encouraged to try. This game is great but definitely needs more to attract more and lose less people.

  • Fun matching game with a little extra Apr 27, 2019

    By Milo wonderboy
The match game itself feels pretty comparable to others, what I enjoy though is that beating a level allows you to make transformations. Just an interesting spin to make the game a little more addictive. The little side quests like trophy challenges and the parrot gifts are super helpful. However I will say sometimes you are gifted 30 min unlimited game play and you don’t really have an option of when to use it. So if I am getting in a quick game on a break or before dinner and I am gifted one of those it goes to waste if I can’t continue to play for an extra 30 min. Not going to lie, at those moments It really is frustrating because you get only 5 lives and the regeneration rate is slow. In addition the buy rate for items feels a little high. As an example to buy an extra 5 moves at the end of a tough level is 900 coins. You maybe get 55 coins for beating a level. So you have to tear through 18 levels to earn enough to buy that extension. It actually de-incentivizes me to buy a package because it never really feels like you are getting a deal. That being said if you can play and not get frustrated when you get stuck on a level for days, or are willing to pay for buy ups this game rocks.

  • Annoying Storylines Jan 16, 2018

I'm giving this game 3/5 stars for a few reasons. I thoroughly enjoy the puzzle aspect itself, more so than competing puzzle games. The animations are smoother, the power ups are well thought out and exciting to use, and the puzzles are fun. I'm docking points though, because the storylines are infuriating to deal with. What roped me in to downloading this game was the home decor aspect. As a huge fan of interior design, this seemed like the perfect game for me. I got to play fun levels, but also simultaneously get to decorate a home. However, after spending months on this game, and completing 240 levels, I've only just now unlocked the 3rd room. If you can even call it that. It goes living room, kitchen, and then garden? Why!? There are TONS of rooms in this house, and after TWO HUNDRED AND FOURTY levels, I'm decorating a garden while so much of the house is untouched. Don't even get me started on the baking storyline. 6 stars just to bake the cake base. Another 3 to bake the house cake. Another 3 to frost it. Another 3 to put it together. Then 2 to drive it to the studio. Then 2 to celebrate the win. Then another 2 to open a present for winning... it doesn't stop! I didn't download the game to bake a cake. I downloaded it to furnish a house! Stop with that nonsense. It took WEEKS to get through that ridiculous storyline. I hope the developers listen to this criticism, because it's really really turning me off to an otherwise fantastic game.

Overall fun game but when you get to a hard or super hard level, you really can see that they are designed to make you lose to the point that you want to buy coins. 900 coins for 5 more turns? 1200 for another? And if you don't keep playing, you lose your bonuses and its harder. Wouldn't be a problem except the coins are expensive. Its like $3 for 2000 coins. That doesn't even get you 10 extra plays on one level. When a game has an option to spend $99 for coins, you know its greed.

Idiotic. After seeing many ads, I finally decided to try it. The ads give the impression that it's a puzzle game, but it's not. It's more like playing house. The puzzles in the ads are infrequent mini games. It's actually just another cascading tile, get 3 in a row type games. Not my cup of tea. False advertising. Edit: If the game we're anything like the ads, I'd play it. But it's not, and I don't understand why you'd intentionally mislead people about what the gameplay is actually like.

Sick it.

Levels are literally going to become impossible after a certain point and they are going to require the ingame currency you will run out of very soon, which can be bought with money, one such level is level 118, it is logically impossible to complete the level unless either your luck works out or you buy, Suprise! your luck wouldn't work. Its a money making machine for someone, not really a game. With being a typical cand crush style game, story is a half baked work just put there as an excuse.

Complete trash, money grab. This game is completely misrepresented by their endless ad campaign. It's barely anything more than candy crush with another hook element of home repair. Nothing like their advertisement. It's starts off easy enough, then becomes completely impossible to progress without using boosters that cost real money. No thanks. Uninstalled.

First of, the ads are very misleading, this is a candy crush like game. Second of, the game is relaxing and fun, until you hit a level that cannot be beat without a lot of boosters or extra moves. That you have to pay money for. For me, this was level 24. Would probably be a good idea to place the pay barrier later in the game, when people are invested, instead of basically after the intro levels 😒
