Refreshing take on hidden object puzzles!
Jan 31, 2018 By GracegsxThis is definitely challenging but still so enjoyable to play! Love the added element of interactivity to open doors, dig in snow piles, pressing buttons and shifting objects in order to unearth & find the object you are looking for. I enjoy just opening & tapping on things just to discover what all can be manipulated. The clues, scenes & sounds are so creative, clever & humorous. One thing I feel that would totally sky rocket this game to the another level and that I would absolutely LOVE to see would be the ability for players to create their own custom list of hidden objects (with customized clues) to find and then challenge other players to find them. The custom challenges could be made by forwarding to friends or by being accessed by anyone on a server. Those custom challenges could even be rated by other players. Filters & ability for players to flag could be used to ensure inappropriate language is not used in the clues. I think this would vastly increase the exposure, playability & revenue for this game. Revenue could be a 1 time fee to unlock the feature, or monetize by playing an ad in order to be able to play a new custom challenge. There is just so much interesting objects & folks to look at & explore and I often find myself thinking “that object should so be on the list” Thank you for creating such an awesome and refreshing unique game! Was thrilled to find there was an update with added content!more -
Feb 24, 2021 By OyuunThis game really sucked me in in a way I haven't felt since I was a kid doing those old I Spy and Where's Waldo books. Many of the maps are gigantic, which helps keep the levels from being beaten too soon. The art is adorable and distinct enough to not have too much trouble finding people blending into crowds. Almost everything has a unique animation or sound when tapped. A lot of love went into this and it shows. My only regret was that it eventually ended. 5/5!more -
Oh, how I adore Hidden Folks 🤍
Jun 5, 2020 By InvisaGothIt may very well be the perfect game! The genius and straight-up craftsmanship in the detail and originality of the art, the wonderfully wandering exploration of every odd yet familiar landscape and each one cleverly layered with quirk and humor, meeting all of the equally strange and lovable creatures that inhabit these worlds, the simple secreted treats and overall wabi sabi that make it brilliantly engaging and enjoyable for those of us who relish such things... which I absolutely do. Above all, it’s undeniably one-of-a-kind and that is increasingly rare in these crazy (yet somehow still dull) days... I can only imagine the volume of blood, sweat and tears that went into the entire Hidden Folks process... I’m sure it was a profound labor of love for everyone involved, as well as an exercise in sheer force of will, but I am personally SO grateful to the creators for blessing us with this gem of a game. Thank you all! I look forward to seeing what other weirdness you folks get into... xoxmore -
Feb 3, 2021 By Beasle SopIf you were a fan if Where's Waldo as a kid then go ahead and pick this up. It's basically an interactive version of that with some very light puzzling sprinkled in. I prefer playing it in the sepia tone but it also offers a night mode along with the standard black and white. The sounds are the right kind of quirky and it's quite amusing to find all the interactables in each area. There's no right or wrong way to explore so if you stumble onto a target that you weren't looking for, it's OK.more -
Hidden Folk
Dec 16, 2017 By Maebelle48I have loved this kind of hide and seek game since I became a big fan of Highlights magazine as a kid. I’ve enjoyed this game from nearly the day it originally was released. Loved it!! I have waited for the update which was to add more content to original game. Man, I saw the game was updated!! I wanted to snap my fingers to just make all aspects of my life freeze, so I could immediately sneak off to indulge my need to play this game again. The added content was fantastic!! I was prepared to look for my favorite little peeps all night, consequences be damned, but alas, the newest material did not require that kind of sacrifice. It was over much too SOON ! I am aware of the time required to create the little peeps in the new hiding places. I’m thrilled to have gotten an update at all. Thanks for all your hard work. Hidden Folks is a blast for this 58 yr old homebody 🐇🐇🐏🐑🦍🦍more

Not for me, maybe for you
Dec 6, 2017 By DjdixhdnjakakdoekenjririfjThis game wasn’t for me. I thought perhaps that the aesthetics might appeal, but I got bored too quickly. I supported this developer because this looked like a quality game; and it is. If you like Spot-the-person games then I guarantee this will exceed your expectations. The sheer quality shows in every detail; still, you have to like spotting games first. I was attracted to the unique visuals, and I guess that blurred my judgement a bit, but that’s my fault alone and I do not regret supporting this developer. A second note — if you intend to play this game on a phone, it feels a bit daunting to have all that detail splash in your face. There’s zooming though. Still, I highly recommend purchasing for the iPad instead. It will make a lot of difference. That’s what I’m planning on doing — downloading on my iPad and perhaps playing with a friend. Two pairs of eyes is better than one :)more -
Dec 5, 2020 By StaciThis game is pretty amazing. It's a merge between a point- and- click and a hidden objects game. The sound effects everytime you click on something are actually pretty funny, it probably took AGES to record all of those sounds! Lol. Hats off, this game is great! I would most certainly recommend. :)more -
Fantastic.
Feb 6, 2018 By NoJo44I really like this game. The clues to each character or object make you think and are great hints. I wish there were at least one additional hint per level. I spent the forever looking for a chicken. I knew what I was looking for and how it was hidden and just could not see it. This almost made me give up, but it was the last thing needed for the game. Also, it would be nice if everything I opened or cut down, etc. stayed that way when I leave and come back. Honestly, the only other thing I would change is the sound effects. It’s funny initially, but then I just kept my phone on silent. Overall, I really enjoy this game. I can use at work for kids with visual perceptual concerns. I think it is creative how things are hidden. It is definitely not your average search and find game. Please keep making more levels! Thank you for the fun.more -
Feb 1, 2021 By Yenitzia MontufarHave played just a few levels but it's so fun! 😂 Funny sounds too! And cute minimalistic graphics (But what's that about the "checking licence" while being offline, though? Can't I play why offline? 🥺 Wish I could) -

Jul 25, 2018 By PhelineCatIt delivers what it says it will but maybe it’s not my kind of thing. It’s calm, that’s for sure, but that’s ok. Persistance, sure. I can do that; I can locate 216 countries on the globe (tiny islands can be time consuming) and can identify their flags as well as states, provinces, micro-nations (you know, like Sealand)... I can listen to other stuff while doing this, right? I dunno... I get obsessed with finding that LAST critter or person and it makes me crazy. Maybe I need a momentary hint; a glow, a flash of color, a ghost-like apparition to appear over the darned thing because I can spend as long on the last SINGLE item as on everything else in the region combined and it makes me want to close up the app and go learn Esperanto instead. Or Korean. Probably Korean. Esperanto is too bizarre.more

Just ok. Wish I hadn’t spent the money.
Oct 15, 2020 By random reviewer 14So I really wanted to like this game. Found it because I really like the two dots annual Halloween scavenger hunt and they say this game is what it was based off of. But there are just one too many small things in this game I don’t like that made me regret spending money on it. Had there been a trial play option before purchase I wouldn’t have bought it. For one thing, you can’t zoom out to see the whole map. It makes it hard to go from area to area since each level is very spread out. Also, some of the objects are SO tiny they are not even fun to look for since they are ridiculously hard to spot. This is made worse by the fact everything is black and white. Please add some color! But I do like the interactive features of being able to move objects on the map, open doors etc. and the cryptic hints for each object to find are fun too. Overall this game has lots of potential but still a ways to go before I would enjoy it enough to spend the money or recommend to others.more -
Good game, but would like some options
Apr 25, 2020 By tlp5104I really enjoy playing this game. It’s very imaginative and creative. If you like finding hidden objects and working out puzzles, you’ll like this. However, there are a couple of features that I would love to see offered. You’re given clues on how to find each item, but it would be better if the app provided you a greater hint by highlighting an area where the object is. You can’t get to the next puzzle until you find enough objects to move on and this can become frustrating when the puzzle scenery is very large and you’re trying to find tiny objects. Secondly, I would like to see a “skip puzzle” feature where you can elect to move onto the next puzzle without completing the current one. If this game had those two features, it would make it more enjoyable to me.more -
Feb 7, 2021 By Arturo PerezThe game is good, the artstyle and the sound effects are refreshing and original, however sometimes you've found the right person where the clue says but it turns out that's not the one, it's super frustrating, I wish there was only one of the folks you're supposed to find.more -
Dec 7, 2020 By Virginia RWould be 5 stars if S-pen was supported. The pen can click on things but it can't move the screen, and with such huge scenes you're constantly moving the screen so the S-pen is useless. Very disappointing. Hopefully the developers can fix this.more

Such An Awesome Game😍
By bigfabzPlease just do yourself a favor and get this game. If you’re tired of all the lame freemium games out there and want to spend your money on a quality one-time-purchase product, this is your game. The amount of detail and effort the developers put into creating this game is astounding. It’s extremely fun to play and it’ll keep you occupied for hours. It’s actually very challenging to complete every stage to its entirety but never frustrating. I have no complaints about this game besides the fact that I just wish there were like a hundred stages because it’s so fun but new levels are on the way so I’m stoked for that! Anyways, this game is amazing and worth every penny; I’m waiting for the beach levels like a 10 year old waiting for Santa to come on Christmas eve. 10/10 game.more less -

Perfect for Where’s Waldo Fans
By CatherineMorlandThis game is so fun and I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the app. As a kid, I loved Where’s Waldo, I Spy, Highlights, etc. Hidden Folks is a challenging grown up version. The adorable black and white world includes many settings (city, desert, jungle, campground, etc), detailed drawings, animated objects, and interactive controls (you open windows, cut down grass, look inside of logs and rabbit holes, and more). There is no clock or time limit and you can take as long as you want to complete a level. There are no ads, and nothing to distract you while you play. It’s a relaxing game, and even though it’s challenging, it’s not so hard that you get frustrated. You can tell the creators of this app worked very hard to make a visually appealing, quality game.more less

Esperanto is too bizarre.more less

Just ok. Wish I hadn’t spent the money.
By random reviewer 14So I really wanted to like this game. Overall this game has lots of potential but still a ways to go before I would enjoy it enough to spend the money or recommend to others.more less -
Good game, but would like some options
By tlp5104I really enjoy playing this game. If this game had those two features, it would make it more enjoyable to me.more less -
By Arturo PerezThe game is good, the artstyle and the sound effects are refreshing and original, however sometimes you've found the right person where the clue says but it turns out that's not the one, it's super frustrating, I wish there was only one of the folks you're supposed to find.more less

By Virginia RWould be 5 stars if S-pen was supported. The pen can click on things but it can't move the screen, and with such huge scenes you're constantly moving the screen so the S-pen is useless. Very disappointing. Hopefully the developers can fix this.more less

Hidden Folks
Release Notes
2.0.3
Developer Information
The On Tour update adds 6 new music themed areas to the game, for free! And we removed downloadable content and in-app purchases from the game, so the Beach areas are available for free now too! And we made lots of other small improvements! Enjoy!
Hey everyone - Adriaan here, game designer of Hidden Folks. Google Play's Games Services were causing many crashes and hangs, and after many attempts at trying to deal with it, I decided to remove the services from Hidden Folks entirely. This means that from now on your savegame will only exist on your device. I hate removing features but I have to value 'game working at all' over 'convenience'. Thanks for waiting for me to solve this, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy the game! - Adriaan
Google Play integration improvements and 64-bit support.
The latest version of the Google Play License Verification plugin (used to check whether you actually bought the game) requires permission to write to external storage. Why this plugin needs this permission is beyond me, but without it the game doesn't run, so... sorry for the scary message, everyone.

Hey folks! Adriaan here, game designer of Hidden Folks, writing you only a day after the previous patch release. This update addresses a major layering issue I accidentally introduced in version 1.6.2. It had a short but good life, but should be gone now. If you encounter any bugs or layering issues, please send me an email so I can try to fix it! My email address: support@hiddenfolks.com
Heeeyyyy folks! This update adds an in-app purchase to the game that unlocks 5 new Beach areas with 60+ more things to find!
To make the Beach areas took us nearly a year and we're super proud of the result!! We wholeheartedly want to thank our community for sticking with us, playtesting the new areas, and translating the new clues. If there is anything we can help you with, send us an email at: support@hiddenfolks.com

Developer Information
Hello! Game designer Adriaan typing here. I hope you're doing well. This update fixes a few minor bugs and mistranslations, so it's not a very exciting update, but an important for some! For example: the 'Toggle Interface Size' button in the settings should appear on iPads again so that those with bad sight or those with excellent sight have some options in whether they can or can't read clues for targets. I also looked into making the game compatible with iPad 4th generation but I fear the worst; 8+ year old hardware can't keep up with technology and software updates. I continue digging, though! Anyway, if you need my help, I'm always friendly at support@hiddenfolks.com - talk to you later!

Hey folks! This is Adriaan typing, game designer of Hidden Folks. With this update, I hope to fix some of the rogue controller instruction panels that have been popping up randomly. We also fixed some translation errors, made scrolling the camera even smoother, improved iCloud support, make the sounds of the targets in the pirate ships area more unique, removed some behind the scene errors, and added two missing translators to the credits area! If you encounter any bugs, please send me an email so I can try to fix it! Send an email to: support@hiddenfolks.com
Heeeyyyy folks! This update adds an in-app purchase to the game that unlocks 5 new Beach areas with 60+ more things to find!
Play with the sand on the small beach. Take a swim and play some beach golf on the large beach. Hike through obstacles to your sailboat. Explore the many islands and watch the race. And witness a battle between pirate ships!

Hey! How are you? Adriaan here, game designer of Hidden Folks! This update adds a button to lock the screen rotation of the game. Convenient if you want to play the game while lying down! If there's anything I can help you with, email me at: support@hiddenfolks.com
Hey there! Adriaan here, the game designer of Hidden Folks. This update adds a City-themed puzzle area to the game and fixes a bunch of bugs. Also: the area select screen now has a little sneak preview of the new theme we're working on and a button to join the Hidden Folks community on Discord. Get at it!!!
What's up! Adriaan here, the game designer behind Hidden Folks. This update upgrades the interface so you can play Hidden Folks in landscape mode on your iPhone! On top of that, you can now: reset single areas, zoom in more, and pick a default side for the targets panel (bottom, left, or right). If anything doesn't work as expected, definitely reach out to me and we'll figure it out together. Reach me at: support@hiddenfolks.com
Here it is: the long-awaited snow update adding 3 new areas to Hidden Folks!! Enjoy! Swoosh!!!!
Yoooooooooo! This is Adriaan, game designer of Hidden Folks, typing this utterly long "What's New" message to you in the midst of working on new areas! This update makes Hidden Folks compatible with iPhone X, adds a sneak preview of the next areas to the area select screen, makes the game run a little better on older devices, allows you to zoom in just a little bit more on phones, fixes some sorting issues, has a new settings screen (in both the area select screen and in the game!), and squashes some bugs. It's a pretty solid update, I think. But yeah, new areas soon. SOON. Before Christmas, that's the plan. Follow me on Twitter (@AdriaanDeJongh) if you want sneak previews. Oh, and send me an email if you have any questions: hello@adriaandejongh.com
What's up!!! Adriaan here, the game designer behind Hidden Folks. Can I do a mini announcement here and tell you we plan to add more areas later this year... for free? All the positive reviews have been very motivating to me and Sylvain (the illustrator with whom I made Hidden Folks) and we really can't wait to show you what's next!! Again; if there's anything you'd like to say or need help with, send me an email at hello@adriaandejongh.com
This very tiny update brings back the old icon, fixes a few minor sorting and translation issues, and adds an app subtitle to some languages. Nothing new.... yet!
