I've been using this for years, connected with the family, and a special shared page that we update with all of our little ones pics. As of 2/16/21. I'm in able to open the app, and I've got loads off messages I want to see. But the app won't open for me. Google chat doesn't see all my conversation either. This is absolutely the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced in the days of smart phone life. Will this be fixed, or am I out of luck?

I don't know exactly what has happened but 2 days ago I was chatting on Hangouts and the app just crashed. This happened on all 3 of my devices. I've re-installed the app 3 times now and it still says that it can't connect to the server. You've got to fix this! Update: I just installed Hangouts again and it's still giving me an error message saying "cannot connect to the servers". WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

This app is in serious need of a competitive update. While other chat apps have forayed ahead with many user friendly features, this app seems to be on the back burner of the dev team. The message time stamp for messages don't show when each message was sent, it just shows a cumulative chat time. Reply to a specific message is not yet made it on here, let's not even get started with the calling options. I think it's high time this app gets a revisit.

Its decent overall, but my main problem is that when using this app on my android phone, i cant tell who is online just by looking at my contact list. I also struggled to figure out how to toggle my own online settings. Though, i want to keep this app. I am familiar with it and dint want to move to anything else. Please consider fixing these changes.

I don't know what's happening but for 3 days now the app is lagging. I get the messages late and no longer notifying me that i've received a message. I also uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to see if it had made any differences but it didnt help at all. So can you please fix the issues on this app and make an new update to the app. Thank you

Theres no option to search for a message or a picture. You have to scroll all the way through the messages to find what you're looking for. Recently it just doesn't work. It stops working and whenever I open it, is shows hangouts has stopped. Also when i close the app, the notification keeps popping that the app has stopped. Even though i click Ok it shows the measage again. Thats very annoying.

I'm not to impressed with hangouts...true it's a step up from telegram and WhatsApp but far from perfect. I have problems with apps that give you no easy way of blocking....archiving....or checking someone's profile. Hangouts is a lovely hangout for those who are hiding their identity and for scammers....be careful ....scammers always want to meet in these chat apps I've just mentioned.

Apparently On 29 or 30 2021 you upgraded the app in some Manner and you changed some of its formatting and Screen layout and it is now much more difficult to use, I do not know who thinks of these things but you need to put it back the way it was, you changed the face of the type field, you changed some of the colors and you changed the size of the talk-to-text box and Not only was it not necessary, it does make it much more difficult to use. I really tried to give Google the benefit of the doubt about Chat, which they insist we all move to from Hangouts. But in addition to removing Google Voice integration and seemingly the ability to share media to it (which I can work around), group threads are apparently unsupported unless you subscribe to the business version? That's insane and unacceptable. Why even have a messaging application that lacks something so basic? It should be called "Chat Lite" or "Chat DEMO" or something.

I have used Hangouts for months, I find it a very good communication option. But the only option and those requested by many are still non-existent, I hope that soon in the future they can implement the option to delete a contact, the option to block or hide a contact is not enough. Needed, much lack of delete option.
