I've been playing GoP2 for like 5 years or so, and though it's a-cash-makes-recovering-from-skewed-odds-so-much-easier like the rest of 'em, (they're here to profit from Googles Customer Base after all, and we all know that going in); I do very much enjoy the Hat Obsession part of the Journey! 🙃 I did have to subtract a star (from the 5 I put there 5 years or so ago); just now because for whatever reason, I'm only making 1 dollar rent from each building I purchase in the game I just started.

I love this app and I loved it on the computer but could you make it where it shows a pile of chips in front of the your character and the other characters and it gets bigger as your amount of chips increase and it gets smaller if your amount of chips get smaller. But believe me I love this game but I love the computer version more because of that feature.

The game is fun to play, somewhat intense at times, like when you have a big pot going, a winning hand(?), and you're almost out of chips. My only minor complaint is the winning cards layout could be just a bit slower...these old eyes aren't as quick as they could be!

It adds an extra fun element to poker by adding other goals to the game. I like having to acquire buildings and towns in order to be able to move on. The only frustrating part is that in many of the tournament games the computer players basically throw most of their money into the pot before the flop so you only get a few turns and you're out. I wish they would bet a little more realistically. Also, the deal doesn't seem random like it should be.

I could not see and use the whole screen which made the game unplayable sorry it looked fun but wasn't able to play you need to work on it...

Often times when you have a better hand than the computer the pot gets split, sometimes the computer even gets more than you. I just played a round where I had a straight and the computer had absolutely nothing and he got 400 chips and I got 200! That doesn't happen in real poker. Also I just won twice against the governor but because of the way this game is set up I lost the overall match. There were two separate times where both myself and the computer went all in and I won both times. If two people go all in one of them loses, period end of story!!!

I've played other versions of GOP, but this one is just ridiculously hard. I only got so far before I stopped playing. I think they want to force you to make in-app purchases to go further in the game. It stops being fun when you HAVE to win first place in every tournament to progress, only to lose with a pair of kings to some moron AI player who keeps raising with a 2-6 and then magically wins on the river. Like, over and over. It's no fun.

Potentially fun game for offline poker, BUT it's basically a Chinese finger trap that forces you to pay money for chips if you want to continue. Also, it's pretty obvious that the AI makes decisions based on knowing what cards will be dealt ahead of time. AI players won't fold when they should because they know a pair is coming. Still it's decent fun. And if they weren't trying to trap me into paying more, I may have actually bought some chips. As is, I'll probably just play something else.

Couldn't move forward in the game as it had cut off the edges of the screen so I couldn't press next day, a shame as I used to like playing this game. Sony 5 phone

  • Best App Game Jul 2, 2016

    By Allie Taylor
Truly one of the best games on the App Store. The color and design is beautiful and the game play is really fun. I wish there were more than two levels of game play, but that's not a big enough deal to not get a 5 star.

Love this but some stuff should be cheaper on gop3 like the old $99.00 prices for ultra and hyper spins. Should be like $10 to $12.50 for ultra.

  • GOP2 Apr 13, 2017

    By Jethro (not really)
Overall a fun way to play offline hold 'em. The visuals are much improved over the first, but I preferred the old play. GOP2 players always raising the pot before the flop doesn't feel too realistic and forces a different strategy to win tournaments.

This has been improved and now seems to give you the ability to win more games. I loved the PC version and am starting to enjoy the Android one as well
  • Great game Mar 3, 2019

The only improvement would be to have another way to get chips other than to buy them or buy houses

  • Great classic but... Jul 19, 2017

    By yaboi mannie phresh
The game is a classic and you guys had a chance to make app history but you fell short with the in app purchases. I had no problem paying $3 for a game I truly enjoy, but you guys ruined the gameplay and practically make you either pay out of pocket or keep restarting. Please update the gameplay if you expect us to buy Governor of Poker 3 if you plan on making one.

  • Would be 5 star but... Jul 23, 2016

    By dragleumas
The fact that you buy the full version (which is fine) but drop the in app purchases when you already ask customers to buy the game. So with the $2.99 price tag and the inclusion of in app purchases I cannot give a five star rating. Take those out and you have a perfect game though :) very fun and addicting.

  • Fun but table graphics are tough Sep 22, 2019

    By Doc_Daddy
Fun game, but after playing your World of Poker the table graphics here are hard to use. Very small, and the winner is shown and removed so quickly you can’t keep up. Update this game with the World of Poker table graphics and you’ve got a 5 star game.

I really love so much about this game , except the one thing that makes me want to delete it is the way the computer players play. They always raise pre-flop it's so frustrating! I've never seen someone in a real game ever raise pre-flop!

  • Cool but seriously flawed! Aug 23, 2016

    By Anthony Landon
I can't purchase any in game content. I even had to delete the free version and then buy and install the paid version. I have an S7 and have never had this issue even in the play store. After the first town, it takes everything short of an actual miracle to get a winning hand.

If you thought of buying the game for Android because you was delighted by the PC version, I'll let you know that this version is nothing more than adware. Some PC features are cut here (bank is replaced with in-app purchases, AI of the players seems modified to the way to make you lose most of your games, achievements are not showing on left side when you earned them during game, and probably even more "surprises" if you ever succeed beating the players and owning all cities), so I recommend you to not waste money on this horrible port of the game, just play the PC version if you can.

the computer opponents are complete trash. they will always raise pre flop. even if they have nothing. and when you finally get a hand worth seeing the flop at 6 times the blind, you get beat out by someone who had 2,9 because they happened to hit a full house on the flop.
