I love this app and I loved it on the computer but could you make it where it shows a pile of chips in front of the your character and the other characters and it gets bigger as your amount of chips increase and it gets smaller if your amount of chips get smaller. But believe me I love this game but I love the computer version more because of that feature.

Great game, first came in contact with the original governor of poker back in 2008 or so. Good to see it kept going. There's only one downside, and it's a big one, a big chunk of the right screen falls out of my display. I can barely press the calendar and I can see how many dollar bills I have.

The game is fun to play, somewhat intense at times, like when you have a big pot going, a winning hand(?), and you're almost out of chips. My only minor complaint is the winning cards layout could be just a bit slower...these old eyes aren't as quick as they could be!

  • Great classic but... Jul 19, 2017

The game is a classic and you guys had a chance to make app history but you fell short with the in app purchases. I had no problem paying $3 for a game I truly enjoy, but you guys ruined the gameplay and practically make you either pay out of pocket or keep restarting. Please update the gameplay if you expect us to buy Governor of Poker 3 if you plan on making one.

Don't buy the full map unlock. I liked the concept so I bought the full map. Once you own the yellow cities, and move onto orange, the game becomes a grind. The buildings rocket in price and the rent doesn't increase by much. The tournament buy-ins are high but the rewards are miniscule. You don't get any rent while traveling. That just doesn't make sense. But we all know why they do it. To force people to buy chips. I remember when this was a flash game on Miniclip, it was not like this.

Often times when you have a better hand than the computer the pot gets split, sometimes the computer even gets more than you. I just played a round where I had a straight and the computer had absolutely nothing and he got 400 chips and I got 200! That doesn't happen in real poker. Also I just won twice against the governor but because of the way this game is set up I lost the overall match. There were two separate times where both myself and the computer went all in and I won both times. If two people go all in one of them loses, period end of story!!!

Potentially fun game for offline poker, BUT it's basically a Chinese finger trap that forces you to pay money for chips if you want to continue. Also, it's pretty obvious that the AI makes decisions based on knowing what cards will be dealt ahead of time. AI players won't fold when they should because they know a pair is coming. Still it's decent fun. And if they weren't trying to trap me into paying more, I may have actually bought some chips. As is, I'll probably just play something else.

The resolution is a big issue. Not being able access options that are out of screen is really really annoying. Otherwise the game is great. Just like when I played it as a kid on miniclip.

Too bad I'm stuck in Amarillo. I've uninstalled twice but still can't get anywhere even with winning the coal mine and getting the horse. It really suxs to have to pay to advance on the map. There is no help online. Too bad. This game would be so amazing if it worked like it was suppose to.

  • Best App Game Jul 2, 2016

Truly one of the best games on the App Store. The color and design is beautiful and the game play is really fun. I wish there were more than two levels of game play, but that's not a big enough deal to not get a 5 star.

Overall a fun way to play offline hold 'em. The visuals are much improved over the first, but I preferred the old play. GOP2 players always raising the pot before the flop doesn't feel too realistic and forces a different strategy to win tournaments.

The only improvement would be to have another way to get chips other than to buy them or buy houses

I intend to give 5star but ihad experience a glitch in the. One time i played in the money game and when im winning the round, it suddenly stop!, and nothing is happening just freeze. What i did was restart the game, force the game to shut down and then start the game again. When the whole game is running again in the main menu i clich the play button, after that i was brought to the last scenario i was before, it was the last money game that hung up, but this time...awts!.to be continued...

Fun, even more fun animation. The algorithm for the poker play is a little off though.

  • Would be 5 star but... Jul 23, 2016

The fact that you buy the full version (which is fine) but drop the in app purchases when you already ask customers to buy the game. So with the $2.99 price tag and the inclusion of in app purchases I cannot give a five star rating. Take those out and you have a perfect game though :) very fun and addicting.

  • Fun but table graphics are tough Sep 22, 2019

Fun game, but after playing your World of Poker the table graphics here are hard to use. Very small, and the winner is shown and removed so quickly you can’t keep up. Update this game with the World of Poker table graphics and you’ve got a 5 star game.

Big bug in this game, so when you go mine to play you can not go back to city to win some money, you can't even go to next day, it keep saying you need to play poker to pass the day, no matter how many times you play with governor you can't pass the day, you will end up loosing al monry and stock there bcoz no way to earn monry. Also computer is cheating in the mine area, how can he get 4 of the kinds , 5 time is row??? Stupid game

Feels like the cards are stacked against you. Rarely get a good hand and if you do, the computer seems to always have a card better on you... Tried twice and deleted twice.

The developers really need to work on the screen resolution. A lot of options are unavailable simply because this game's display is not optimised properly, so some part of the screen is cut off at the top and right, making it unpleasant and irritating.
