    Update : The issue had been resolved! Google pay does store boarding passes. You have to go through the airlines app and save to google pay. Which then opens up a browser and you add it there. Then you will see it in the app. It doesn't allow you to add boarding passes. Probably my most appreciated features of Apple Wallet. I didn't know what I had till I left iPhone. At least I can unlock my phone without taking my mask off though.

    Google pay works great when it works. not so much a problem with Google pay but it seems a lot of terminals that say they take Google pay don't actually work. there is one store I use it frequently. but only one of their terminals works. the other thing I still haven't figured out all the things you can do with it but that's my fault. not Google.

    3 stars because this app (as well as other Google apps such as Gmail) insist I am in India, even though every conceivable Google program reflects US as residence. They say they've fixed it, but that it will take 48 hours to "take." In the meantime, I can't add a payment card to Google. This is a ridiculous problem for a tech giant like Google to have. And, since they know about it, why haven't they fixed this problem for good??

    I only got this app because a regular customer of mine only had or knew how to use Google Pay. I use many different cash apps. Almost all of them allow me to move money into my main bank without fees. Yes, most charge to instantly add to a debit card. If I can connect a bank account to Google Pay, it’s not anywhere as easy to do as the other cash apps. But my BIGGEST frustration with this app is I use this for mostly driving a customer around. I sure wish I could buy gas with it. I read all over the Internet on how to do it. The instructions are simple and clear. Just tap the “Pay” tab and scroll down to “Get Gas”. Problem is, there is hardly anything to scroll through… There are two things to pick from, food and parking. NOTHING about getting gas. This app is extremely difficult to figure, far more than it needs to be. Again, I’m only using it because I have a customer who only uses it. Apple Pay is worlds better than this app. Please! Let me buy gas with it!!!!

    This was so weird, I have not been able to update my review for Google Pay for a couple of weeks. Love the concept & convenience of this app. The last time I added money to Google Pay, found out that I am able to load money from PayPal. The money is immediately available in Google Pay.

    Now , this payment app will be #1! Google pay was my favorite to start with until in the last few months it just stopped working completely , but then I noticed this gem in the App Store - I’m not sure if it’s just updated or a whole new app but you need it in your life ! It’s got everything! Referalls and ive already gotten my $5 for the first payment I ever made - it gives rewards , cash back , etc - it’s basically like any other awesome Google app but for payments !

    It feels like forcing people onto a new app just for the sake of change. In my opinion, this new app is more confusing and less usable than the previous. It’s not very clear to find out where to go to transfer money, view your balance, etc. Also there’s no way to quickly repeat a transaction. I request monthly payments from family members. In the previous app there was a “request again” option. Not anymore. If you’re going to force everyone to switch to a new app, please at least make it a better experience.

    Overall the new app seems to be working well. I’m not having issues with crashes like I was before which is obviously an improvement. But I do miss the passbook from the old app. Instead of having them all in one place I have to search individually for each business loyalty card. Would really appreciate that being added back in. Also the overnight switch with no announcement or warning was very frustrating.

    I will be deleting this app immediately! It’s so disappointing to have an app that you love and then go to use it one day only to discover everything you loved about it has changed. Typically, I like updates. This one, however, is horribly unnecessarily complicated. Plus, the new “update” includes being forced to pay a fee for instant deposit when using a debit card. Really Google? I HAVE to pay $15 to transfer $1000 out of my Google ACCT to my bank account if I’m using my debit card? But if I want to use my bank, it will take “up to” 5 days. No worries. I’ll wait. The absolute worst new update I discovered was when I tried to send money from one of my other accounts. I use my Google account to put money aside for my son. Essentially, a temporary saving. Anyway, I go to send money using my other account and was denied access to my own accounts. The message indicated that I HAD to use the money in my Google account before I would be allowed to send money from my other account. Wrap your mind around that. You’re being told that you cannot use your other accounts until you use all the money in your Google account. Unbelievably horrible. Not sure what Goggle was thinking, other than greed. I’ll be going back to Cash App. At least they give you an option to do instant deposit using your debit card. Extremely disappointed.

    Google Pay was so much better before. You used to be able to use multiple email addresses now you can only use one. So if you have a business and a personal email you can only use this for one email. I am frustrated because when setting up the new app I accidentally used my business email, I’m not sure how but I think an email was automatically selected for me and by the time I realized which email was there it was too late. I need to use it for a personal transaction and now I can’t. I also used to use it to send money to other accounts and I used to be able to help my mother who is not so computer savvy send money to her family members by signing into her account for her and sending what she needed sent. They also store your money in a google pay account similar to CashApp and you have to wait for days before your money is in the google pay account before you can actually send the money to your intended recipient, or you must keep money in your google pay account just sitting there for when you may need to send money to someone, but with all these things getting hacked from time to time it would not be wise to have money just sitting there. I am so frustrated and disappointed with this. Why fix something that isn’t broken?! Please change it back!!!

In the previous app there was a “request again” option. Not anymore. If you’re going to force everyone to switch to a new app, please at least make it a better experience.

Also the overnight switch with no announcement or warning was very frustrating.

    In the latest version, on a Pixel 4, which they should be able to test, I am not able to send money to my friends anymore. It keeps asking to "complete the card set up" and when I enter the CVC it goes back to "complete the card set up". The card is the same I was using successfully till 6 months ago. Their support keeps giving wrong information and ask me to provide more info without solving the problem. I suspect they have a bug for which cards without contactless support cannot be used anymore to send money. It's absurd how Google does not test these apps on their own phones. I switched to another app. Update: the support says I am using the old app but he cannot provide the link in Google Play to the new app...I am using the new app obviously. I wonder why Google has this very bad customer support. It would be easier to say: "I don't know how to solve this issue"...which seems to be very common in the reviews here.

    This app is far more convoluted and confusing than I would have thought, to the point that I had to have somebody hold my hand and walk me thru the entire process of setting it up and learning how to use it. I’m 24, I was raised in the age of smart phones, this shouldn't be that difficult for me. But beyond that, when I tried to look at my personal info, it showed my legal name as something completely different from my own, and is locked, making it so I can’t change it. Which is INCREDIBLY STUPID if you ask me bc, even ignoring the fact that it just has me wrong??? People change their names!! Legally!!!! They realize their gender is wrong or they get married or divorced or something! And change their name! But you can’t do that here!! Also, while I realize that most payment apps charge you to remove your money, finding out from other reviews that they didn’t used to have that feature infuriates me even more than it did when i saw the fact they were going to charge me. All in all, its a one star from me, bc I just can’t figure it out despite growing up w technology, the movement of capitalism to where every single thing you use tries to charge you infuriates me, and the fact that they LITERALLY gave me the WRONG NAME and WILL NOT let me change it.

    I am so frustrated with Google pay and Google Play. You receive cards as gifts and you want to play your games and you can't even use them right away.Too many problems. with this app should be able to just enter the number and be able to go and credit it and play your game but no. Yeah freezes kicks you out before you get through, horrible. Have credit in Google pay and can't use it in Google Play. This is totally crazy. I want a refund.     The type a bank account I have the money comes out immediately google pay request the money out from my bank on the 22 instead of the 19 which is the day I made and cancel the transaction call google pay they tell me that It my banks fault check with your bank that that’s your banks fault no I have proof in pictures that the money was requested from Google on the 22nd and there’s nothing that they would do to fix it no courtesy to put my money back in my account nothing so I will not be using Google pay once everything is said and done these are the reasons why companies fail I have all the proof all the proof I don’t mine waiting but I’m still upset because of the wrong information and because I do have pictures !!!!!!!!!!!!!! For all my bank knows I asked for the money to be sent to google on the 22 instead of the 19 when I actually made the transaction. I still have those pictures my proof showing the money was wrongly taken out on my account after it was canceled on the same day. Zero stars is what I want to give google pay I apologize to the people I feel deserve an apology get better google I would get this app because I use to love google but the app is not the same I will not recommend this app.

    Just found out about Google offers and would love to use Google pay more, but I’ve found this app to be confusing and difficult to navigate. As great as some of the Google offers are, something as simple as saving and adding the offer to your account is a process in itself. I’ve literally used this app twice and both times, I wondered to myself “did the offer go through” as there is no way to check! I’m currently waiting on customer support to check my latest transaction... added offer to my account, accessed the website through Google pay app, and made my purchase with the eligible credit card on file....after all is said and done, THERES STILL NO INDICATION OF WHETHER THE OFFER WENT THROUGH ARE NOT. How hard is it to have a notificAtion that says “sorry this offer can’t be used anymore” or a “congrats, you have successfully utilized the offer, please wait for further processing”?? Additionally, opening a chat ticket to ask for help is another hair pulling process in itself. Once this issue is resolved, this will probably be the last time I use this app, regardless of how great the offers are until all these little quality of life issues are fixed. There are too many other great apps currently available for me to have to put up with this headache.

    I don't know what's happened to this app but it is absolutely useless at this point. I have tried for 2 days to make a payment with the same card that's been on my app for years. It says I have to finish setup, so I do by entering the numbers it wants and then nothing. Not even an error message. I've uninstalled the app twice, gone online on my computer and verified information is correct and nothing has changed or corrected itself. This is so frustrating.

    The tl;dr is if you can, avoid Google pay at all costs. Somehow someone decided it was a good idea for the money you deposit to take 5+ days to post if they’re feeling generous despite any worthwhile app having it available in literal seconds. (venmo or cash app) it’s going to take me two weeks one way or another to get the money I tried to deposit. At this moment Google is saying they retuned the money to my bank that I tried to deposit but I was able to call that bluff within 5 minutes of calling my own bank. So clearly they’re lying to the support team in an effort for them to take the blame. At this point I don’t know when I’ll get my money back if ever. On the bright side I’m trying to get my bank to use Zelle so I can pay my rent. Technophobic brainless landlord who only uses Zelle or Google pay aside, the moment I don’t have to use Google pay I will never touch it again. All of this because Google feels they have the right to gamble your money for 5-14 days in order to line the pockets of there CEO so he can take airplane rides with J Epstine to a private island. All in all, Google gives a good reason to have a corporate death penalty. Give me my money back Google.

    I'm constantly having issues with this app and have used it for over a year-and-a-half. Since the new update a few months ago, transactions are unable to be canceled. Money sits in limbo while they try to figure out that errors in their system that happen regularly. I highly recommend getting zelle or another payment system this is useless to send and receive money.

    I live in Puerto Rico (PR) we are part of USA and I'm using the Google Pay (Google Pay (old logo)) many times, when try to send money the app ask me to install this new GPay (new logo) as a early access because I can't send money. Downloaded and installed, then... I can't register because my phone number is from PR not USA. “We are part of USA” But what the heck!, people that live here in PR using Google Pay are fine without problem using Google Pay (as repeat old logo app) and by the way in the "United States: Supported payment methods" the list of banks YOU HAVE Banco Popular of Puerto Rico and im using another local in PR bank on my list of payments methods. You MUST INCLUDE Puerto Rico's area codes; 787 and 939 for the process of register correctly my account as well thousands of residents in PR and those who live as well in USA using phone numbers from PR. So you're giving a bad step for this early app for people of Puerto Rico and you strongly discriminate us. By the way too, Google recognizes us part of the USA on many services using our area codes... I have to use for emergency PayPal's service instead. Shame on you Google.

    Everything works just fine, but there seems to be no real features that drive me to use this. I keep seeing the add where it imports receipts and tracks spending, but find no way to do that in the app. There is no real analytics on your spending, no receipts, just how much you paid and what business it was to, but my banks app can do that fine. It seems like it’s just venmo, but because no one I know uses google pay over venmo, it truly is a useless app. I know google makes great useful products, but this just feels like a useless app. It would be nice if it tracked spending, allowed for budgeting, had analytics on spending, allowed you to search through past transactions, etc.

    I want to love this app and I can even put up with the nonsense attempt to make it a social network BUT the payments inexplicably can take a WEEK or more to transfer. I’m still waiting a week out on $100 my wife sent me for the electrician. And the differentiating feature I liked — the ability to attach requests /payments to Gmail emails — is no longer. I’ll be going back to Venmo which seems to clear transactions in a day or so, or immediately for a small fee. If Google is serious about being a player in this space it would do them well to remember what people love about Google to begin with: speed.

    I prefer cash app but maybe I’m biased since I’ve had it forever. I used google pay to receive some money and was very surprised to find out that they ask for the last 4 of your social for “verification”. Then when I tried to transfer the money on my cash app card because it would be easier for me since I already had money on it they supposedly don’t allow prepaid cards which is dumb. If you already know it’s me and it’s my money, I should be able to decide what card I would like it to go on . Also, it took me a while to figure out where to go to transfer the money .

    In keeping with their flagrant disregard for the principle of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Google sprung this new app on us a few months ago. I’m not a big fan. It still works for me in the sense that it sends money to people, but it’s a confusing mess to find info like prior payments, nor is there the useful function to duplicate a payment. On top of all that, the app itself is incredibly laggy. Transitions between menus are choppy, animations are choppy, and this is on a new iPhone 12. I’d expect that from a freshman programming student, not one of the biggest tech companies in the world.

    After being required to download this new app. I asked my mom to send me $300. We set up this app on both our phones. She sends me $300 and it goes directly into my “google balance.” Since they now charge a 1.5% fee to transfer to bank via debit, I decided to send the money back, add her bank account and deposit it using the “up to 5 days” option (Free) Turns out the $300 I sent back were TAKEN FROM MY DEBIT CARD and not the GOOGLE BALANCE. WAIT! It gets better, in order for you to use the google balance, you will need to add your SSN address name and bday! Frustrated, I added my info and sent the extra $300 to my mom so she could give me cash instead. They really screwed it up and made the entire process overly complicated. We will NOT be using google pay and will immediately uninstall the app from my phone and my moms. Thank you google for the last few years. Tonight is our last night using you. ✌️

    I thought the new app was going to be the same but it isn’t. First its very confusing to use, second now you don’t receive your money directly to your account instead it goes to google pay balance and if you want to transfer it to your bank there will be a charge. And if you want to be free of fees you need to give them your login and password from your bank account so basically they have all access to everything!! Wow.. i am getting rid of this right now its not worth at all!

    I will be deleting this app immediately! It’s so disappointing to have an app that you love and then go to use it one day only to discover everything you loved about it has changed. Typically, I like updates. This one, however, is horribly unnecessarily complicated. Plus, the new “update” includes being forced to pay a fee for instant deposit when using a debit card. Really Google? I HAVE to pay $15 to transfer $1000 out of my Google ACCT to my bank account if I’m using my debit card? But if I want to use my bank, it will take “up to” 5 days. No worries. I’ll wait. The absolute worst new update I discovered was when I tried to send money from one of my other accounts. I use my Google account to put money aside for my son. Essentially, a temporary saving. Anyway, I go to send money using my other account and was denied access to my own accounts. The message indicated that I HAD to use the money in my Google account before I would be allowed to send money from my other account. Wrap your mind around that. You’re being told that you cannot use your other accounts until you use all the money in your Google account. Unbelievably horrible. Not sure what Goggle was thinking, other than greed. I’ll be going back to Cash App. At least they give you an option to do instant deposit using your debit card. Extremely disappointed.

    Google Pay was so much better before. You used to be able to use multiple email addresses now you can only use one. So if you have a business and a personal email you can only use this for one email. I am frustrated because when setting up the new app I accidentally used my business email, I’m not sure how but I think an email was automatically selected for me and by the time I realized which email was there it was too late. I need to use it for a personal transaction and now I can’t. I also used to use it to send money to other accounts and I used to be able to help my mother who is not so computer savvy send money to her family members by signing into her account for her and sending what she needed sent. They also store your money in a google pay account similar to CashApp and you have to wait for days before your money is in the google pay account before you can actually send the money to your intended recipient, or you must keep money in your google pay account just sitting there for when you may need to send money to someone, but with all these things getting hacked from time to time it would not be wise to have money just sitting there. I am so frustrated and disappointed with this. Why fix something that isn’t broken?! Please change it back!!!

    In the latest version, on a Pixel 4, which they should be able to test, I am not able to send money to my friends anymore. It keeps asking to "complete the card set up" and when I enter the CVC it goes back to "complete the card set up". The card is the same I was using successfully till 6 months ago. Their support keeps giving wrong information and ask me to provide more info without solving the problem. I suspect they have a bug for which cards without contactless support cannot be used anymore to send money. It's absurd how Google does not test these apps on their own phones. I switched to another app. Update: the support says I am using the old app but he cannot provide the link in Google Play to the new app...I am using the new app obviously. I wonder why Google has this very bad customer support. It would be easier to say: "I don't know how to solve this issue"...which seems to be very common in the reviews here.

    This app is far more convoluted and confusing than I would have thought, to the point that I had to have somebody hold my hand and walk me thru the entire process of setting it up and learning how to use it. I’m 24, I was raised in the age of smart phones, this shouldn't be that difficult for me. But beyond that, when I tried to look at my personal info, it showed my legal name as something completely different from my own, and is locked, making it so I can’t change it. Which is INCREDIBLY STUPID if you ask me bc, even ignoring the fact that it just has me wrong??? People change their names!! Legally!!!! They realize their gender is wrong or they get married or divorced or something! And change their name! But you can’t do that here!! Also, while I realize that most payment apps charge you to remove your money, finding out from other reviews that they didn’t used to have that feature infuriates me even more than it did when i saw the fact they were going to charge me. All in all, its a one star from me, bc I just can’t figure it out despite growing up w technology, the movement of capitalism to where every single thing you use tries to charge you infuriates me, and the fact that they LITERALLY gave me the WRONG NAME and WILL NOT let me change it.

    I am so frustrated with Google pay and Google Play. You receive cards as gifts and you want to play your games and you can't even use them right away.Too many problems. with this app should be able to just enter the number and be able to go and credit it and play your game but no. Yeah freezes kicks you out before you get through, horrible. Have credit in Google pay and can't use it in Google Play. This is totally crazy. I want a refund. The last time I had a to wait 6 Days for a refund.rate00

    The type a bank account I have the money comes out immediately google pay request the money out from my bank on the 22 instead of the 19 which is the day I made and cancel the transaction call google pay they tell me that It my banks fault check with your bank that that’s your banks fault no I have proof in pictures that the money was requested from Google on the 22nd and there’s nothing that they would do to fix it no courtesy to put my money back in my account nothing so I will not be using Google pay once everything is said and done these are the reasons why companies fail I have all the proof all the proof I don’t mine waiting but I’m still upset because of the wrong information and because I do have pictures !!!!!!!!!!!!!! For all my bank knows I asked for the money to be sent to google on the 22 instead of the 19 when I actually made the transaction. I still have those pictures my proof showing the money was wrongly taken out on my account after it was canceled on the same day. Zero stars is what I want to give google pay I apologize to the people I feel deserve an apology get better google I would get this app because I use to love google but the app is not the same I will not recommend this app.

    Just found out about Google offers and would love to use Google pay more, but I’ve found this app to be confusing and difficult to navigate. As great as some of the Google offers are, something as simple as saving and adding the offer to your account is a process in itself. I’ve literally used this app twice and both times, I wondered to myself “did the offer go through” as there is no way to check! I’m currently waiting on customer support to check my latest transaction... added offer to my account, accessed the website through Google pay app, and made my purchase with the eligible credit card on file....after all is said and done, THERES STILL NO INDICATION OF WHETHER THE OFFER WENT THROUGH ARE NOT. How hard is it to have a notificAtion that says “sorry this offer can’t be used anymore” or a “congrats, you have successfully utilized the offer, please wait for further processing”?? Additionally, opening a chat ticket to ask for help is another hair pulling process in itself. Once this issue is resolved, this will probably be the last time I use this app, regardless of how great the offers are until all these little quality of life issues are fixed. There are too many other great apps currently available for me to have to put up with this headache.

    I don't know what's happened to this app but it is absolutely useless at this point. I have tried for 2 days to make a payment with the same card that's been on my app for years. It says I have to finish setup, so I do by entering the numbers it wants and then nothing. Not even an error message. I've uninstalled the app twice, gone online on my computer and verified information is correct and nothing has changed or corrected itself. This is so frustrating.

    The tl;dr is if you can, avoid Google pay at all costs. Somehow someone decided it was a good idea for the money you deposit to take 5+ days to post if they’re feeling generous despite any worthwhile app having it available in literal seconds. (venmo or cash app) it’s going to take me two weeks one way or another to get the money I tried to deposit. At this moment Google is saying they retuned the money to my bank that I tried to deposit but I was able to call that bluff within 5 minutes of calling my own bank. So clearly they’re lying to the support team in an effort for them to take the blame. At this point I don’t know when I’ll get my money back if ever. On the bright side I’m trying to get my bank to use Zelle so I can pay my rent. Technophobic brainless landlord who only uses Zelle or Google pay aside, the moment I don’t have to use Google pay I will never touch it again. All of this because Google feels they have the right to gamble your money for 5-14 days in order to line the pockets of there CEO so he can take airplane rides with J Epstine to a private island. All in all, Google gives a good reason to have a corporate death penalty. Give me my money back Google.

    I'm constantly having issues with this app and have used it for over a year-and-a-half. Since the new update a few months ago, transactions are unable to be canceled. Money sits in limbo while they try to figure out that errors in their system that happen regularly. I highly recommend getting zelle or another payment system this is useless to send and receive money.
