GardenAnswers Plant Identifier

Despite the designers insisting that users needn't log in with an email address or a Facebook account in order to use this app, I can find no way to bypass the opening screen requesting this information. There is no "X" anywhere on the screen with which you can bypass the login screen. Glitch, or deceptive practices? Can't tell so I'm not going to try. Uninstalling it instead. (HTC U11 running Android 9).

I down loaded this app based on some reviews/ratings! However, i have found this "Not to be user frinedly"! I take my picture then it doesnt give you any options! I just have to start tapping stuff! it needs to give u a place either right b4 picture or right after to put in a generalized, drop down arrow, discription of whet ur looking for! i.e. Shrub, Tree, Flowers, no flowers, leaf color - as dark green, lite green, purple..etc! Gives to many irrelavent options 1st thing!

I love plants and gardening but houseplants are truly becoming my obsession and I have been acquiring new plants and making an active effort to study each one, it’s name, it’s preferred lighting/watering/fertilizer conditions etc. so I was excited when I heard good reviews about this app that could possibly make my plant life a little easier now that I have so many of them. Downloaded this app and another plant i.d. app and when I tried the app none of the plants the app suggested was anything close as to what my house plants from WALMART were! Took a picture of my Calathea Compact Star and the app suggestions were a philodendron(not even close!)and prayer plant(fairly close-ish) Same thing with another plant I just got. I used the google app and did an image search and it correctly identified my Calathea Compact Star.

When I would try to take picture, it would show me on the screen, never the plant, and then when I FINA LLY got a picture of the plant, the screen went blank, and said what type of plant it was, and NOW the app is gone? I used this app on someone else's iPad and I loved it, but it hasn't worked on my iPad at all!

I downloaded the app. I was asked if I wanted an ad free subscription for $3.99. I said yes and was charged for it. Next step was to enter my name and email address and a verification code would be sent to me in a few seconds. I received nothing. Checked my spam folder too- nothing. Looked back at the app and it still said it was verifying my email address. This went on for 10 minutes. Still nothing. Restarted my phone and tried again. Tried 3x w/ different email address. Still nothing.

Don't download. It's Very Sketchy. I looked at the address given in the states 230 Mary St is a very small, run down HOUSE in a nasty looking (street view). I could be wrong but the way it opens links to ads within app. I'm curious if Google reviews or vets the apps that they have in store. Thanks.

Was once ok. Now it has the most useless "premium" feature that means that all you can do as a free user is to look at ads. It won't let you past the ads. This means that the app is essentially lying to you about being "free" or having any free features at all. Uninstalled and I'm reporting this app.

I liked the description of the app so I ordered the full version at $3.99. I have a plant picture that I wanted the app to ID. Got several possibilities but they were all false. I knew the plant was an heirloom poppy (Papaver) but have not gotten a positive ID for the species. I tried again and gave the app a hint - poppy! Well it returned several poppies, but none that had the appearance of the poppy I submitted. I will play with it some more, but so far I am not impressed.
