This is a great installment to the Pen and Paper series! My only problem is that there's something missing . . . . A playable insectoid build! I've beat the game a few times now, and I've always wanted to play with an insectoid on my team! Hopefully my chitinous comrades will get some representation in a future update!

This is likely my favorite game from the franchise. It's only real downside is a few bugs here and there, none of which are game breaking. The combat can be very challenging and requires thought at times, which is an improvement from the somewhat repetitive combat in previous titles. The story is very interesting and has had me eagerly racing towards the conclusion. The best part in my opinion is the exploration of each world. The levels of the individual planets and spaces rations are designed well in that you exploration is often rewarded with in game items and some funny dialogue. I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of tabletop RPGs or the previous games in this series.

Are you tired of games littered with micro transactions? You know those Freemium games that force you to spend money using paywalls? This is not one of them this is a 3.99 glorious rpg that plays like a mix of Final Fantasy and Dungeons and Dragons but in space. Do yourself a favor and take a stand against all those freemium games and support these people who managed to make an amazing experience at a flat rate with NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS!!!! All the bad reviews for this game are from previous updates which I guess I had bugs but from my experience I would rate this game a 15/10. Do the world a favor and make more games like this

I played the entire game, all 16 hours of it. As a true rpg, dungeon, turn-based fan I loved every second of it. The abilities were interesting and sometimes the bosses and enemies were difficult. There was a story that even though it wasn’t compelling made me want to play tabletop rpgs and humanized my created characters. But at the end of 16 HOURS OF GAME I am halted by a game breaking bug. Where each time after I defeat the final boss, no matter what I do, no matter what I choose, the game CRASHES. And sends me back to the menu to fight the boss again, even though it saved my experience gained and items used. With that, no matter how much I enjoyed and loved the game I can give it more than two stars if it won’t validate my time, money, or effort.

I loved Pen and Paper, so I was so excited when I found out that there was Pen and Paper but in space. I was horribly let down. The bug/glitch issue was so bad when I first started that I thought the team was bought out by a AAA game publisher and they were told they needed to have the game out whether or not it worked. Whatever money comes in just works for them since it is a five dollar game. I fail to understand how the class system in the game has less than its predecessor. The witty humor in the falls flat, and the overarching story could have been better. I thought about giving the game two stars but once I saved my progress my game crashed.

I was thoroughly impressed with the first KOPAP game and obsessively played the second one, but about ten minutes into this one and I knew it wouldn’t even hold a candle to the games of past. The missions aren’t as interesting in this one and the way they went about incorporating reputation into “creating” new missions wasn’t enjoyable for me. I despised what has been done with character skill charts in every way, shape and form. Other than the game having good visuals and the cool space battle implementation, I couldn’t have been more disappointed in this game.

I tried to play this for a whole week. Really gave my best effort to get into it. Alas, the game is extremely boring. Weak plot and writing. Not funny. Poor character development system. Can’t do much to customize your characters or go for unique builds. You can only use four skills and you can’t even level up the skills, which make leveling up and getting skill point useless early in the game. And you can’t play in portrait mode. They should have stuck with the format of the original pen and paper games. That would have made for a much more successful game overall. Major disappointment!

The only good game in this series is the original. They say that this game is supposed to throw back and be as good as the first one, but it is stale and repetitive. The combat just doesn't feel polished and there is no way to improve your skills. You can use up to four at a time and once you find the four that match your play style you have dozens of skill points that do nothing. It completely weakens the feeling of progress. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, especially fans of the original.

I love it. I see complaints that it doesn't stack up to the others. I think it's superior in a few ways, mostly because behold created this one and not the other studio pandora had for the second one meaning. You bought it, it's yours, no freemium here. The concept of rpg-ception is excellent and I love the radiant quests, been playing it constantly. It's got differences compared to kopap, but in a good way because if feels original. Good job devs!

I really enjoy the storyline, I really enjoy the combat system, and the customization of characters. However, moving around the maps is terrible. I can tap a location innumerable times before the game reacts. Does anyone else have this issue?

I see great potential for this game and equally big problem. It has a lot of jokes but it seems the devs have gone a little overboard. The balance needs some rework. Confusion is just way too strong. I have a entire character to just buff it on as many enemies as possible. Effectively paralyze them. They keep hitting each other and die. Introduction is non-existence. needs to know what class use what skill. Space battle is really bland. Upgrade is useless.

It felt a bit short, and the devs seem to implement a lot of time-filling(wasting) mechanics to make it feel longer (resource mining, reputation stuff, etc) could be alleviated with a new game plus option. Skill and racial bonus descriptions are often vague (lack exact #'s and %'s). The game could maybe also use an animation/battle speed increase button. Game does not crash for me (using moto z2 play). This game uses slightly more complex animations and music than previous pen and paper games.

  • Wanted to Love This (Updated) Aug 29, 2017

Update: The last patch has fixed my previous issue with the game. I can continue playing my old save file now. Though this game was very buggy at release, the devs seem to be pretty responsive. Old:So I have 11 hrs in this game so far. I loved Knights of Pen and Paper so much and was so excited for this. However, this game is a buggy mess. Constant graphic problems, slow loading, things just not loading, missing images (Mars was just a big white box), and now my save file just won't load. I'm playing on an iphone7 btw. I was still enjoying the game, despite the many technical flaws, but now I cannot recommend it at all after I just lost 11 hours. Please test your games before you release them. Content wise, this game is definitely not as good as knights. The classes are not different enough and I fee very limited by the skill structure. It is still charming, but lacking compared to knights.

This aint a bad game once i got it working, but it could be better, there is a fixable issue with the samsung galaxy s7, which requires you to go to settings and change the apps storage access permission in order for it to work at all.. putting this aside the game not bad, some improvements here and there and nice expansion, though a little linear.

After playing the previous game, i snapped this up when i saw it. But all the the basic premise of the game is the same, the way it plays is totally different. it does not offer the same simple fun the original pen and paper games brought. Its not a bad game, but its not what you expect if you bought after loving the first two. It was a let down and personally it does not grab me at all. Won't be playing it through.

Glitchy and Buggy at the dialogue, healthbars and sometimes the characters like Aliena don't appear. Irritating but still playable. I contacted the developers about this issue a year ago in 2019, no response.

I played this game daily for about 2 weeks and in that time the game has crashed on me upwards of 30 times. The gameplay is fine, story is fine, everything is fine except for the fact that the game just crashes whenever it feels like it. I’m realistically giving this game 1.5 stars because this NEEDS to be fixed. It should’ve been fixed before it was released

This title takes a different turn from the previous two titles. The combat work mostly the same as it always has but the new skill system is lacking. Instead of having 4 abilities you level up there's a huge list to pick from but it doesn't matter as 90% of the skills are underwhelming or useless. There is some combos you can pull of with some class combos like debuffing an enemy which causes your attack to do more damage. The ship combat is simple but different enough to be fun and it doesn't happen often enough to become bland. Quest are a big change in this game as it gives you more of a dm feel. You get to decide what planet/questgiver/monster to kill. This has it's ups and downs as you loose story in your side quests but you have more control of them. Last I would have to say the biggest complaint is load times. The game takes way to long from start up to actual play time.
