Confusing and easy to swipe unintentionally Jan 18, 2021

    By Rebecca Lakin
This app needs work. ☹️ It’s confusing, still haven’t figured out the difference between a star, a heart and a right swipe. The creators should provide some pop up tips or better Q&A and not assume everyone is an expert at dating apps or have used them before. Also, it’s WAY to easy to swipe on accident when you’re just trying to scroll through someone’s profile! Last thing, would be nice to see some other parts to peoples personality other than their faith.

This app seems decent but it does have some problems. I don't like that I have to pay money just to see who likes me. There's multiple people who have liked me and I can't even look at their profiles which is really annoying. Also, another glaring issue is the distance from me bar. I set it to a distance that's kind of near me but then it shows me people that live hundreds if not thousands of miles away. Despite those issues though I do like this app so far and hope to find someone eventually.

It’s a great app but could better Ive several issues regarding my subscriptions I’ve paid for not reflecting in the app. Such as my elite membership that I purchased 2 maybe 3 different times this month as well as the several premium memberships none of which bare giving me access to those level features. I’ve messaged him them several times asking if they could fix that or refund my money and they never email me back. I emailed them Friday and they said they would get back with me and never did, I even wrote a review yesterday and it didn’t get posted. 2. A i had to create a new account after my phone number changed because of their system signing me out and making me type in my number which had been changed so it made me create a new account. So that may be part of the issue. So upward needs a different sign in method because folks change their numbers all the time and shouldn’t have to create a new account or not be able to access features because they worried about fraud. It’s the same IP address and name on the account and debit cards it’s not fraud I’d like the money back I’ve spent on both accounts this month especially seeing as though my old account I lost access to it 2 days after I paid the elite membership and the premium. How can this be fixed or I’ll just delete my account and tell my friends not to join here.

I downloaded this during quarantine. Things ive noticed you can’t see who likes you unless you match. I wish there was a way to see who liked me. There may be people i skipped over or never saw there. I have matches but people barely message on there. So its a little discouraging maybe offer a video chat feature. Also i noticed that there are people on there that aren’t even Christian. It’s literally a Christian dating app. People are “ spiritual “ that don’t even consider themselves Christian... that’s weird to me. I would think on a Christian Dating app that people are actually doing on there to date not be casual. I’ve noticed some people are on there looking to get there freak on... like go on tinder or something. Sorry I’m sure the creators of the app have great intentions. I wish there was a way to be selective on the app i never know where people i match with are from. I’m african american and a women and barely see any men that are black. I don’t discriminate i love em all... but it would be nice to be shown some people like me. Most of the people i see are hunters, fishermen etc😭i love jesus but man im getting discouraged with who i see. To sum all that up Can there be a paid maybe 2.99 feature to see who liked you😫?please

The app won't open. It just keeps failing. When it does work, it will allow you to set general radius of how far you'd like to see people but it constantly shows me people past my distance. That's fine if I want to but sometimes I want to only see who's close

I’ve used the app for about half an hour, and for an app that’s 2 weeks old, I’m pretty impressed. Some things to consider though: First, because it’s a new app, there’s not a whole lot of profiles to swipe on, for me anyways. I live in a developing, midsize, college town in a semi rural area. I had 4 or 5 profiles within 10 miles away and 6 or 7 in the nearest big city an hour away. After that I started getting a bunch of profiles 100+ miles away. Second, a distance filter would be nice. I could see people in my area and not see people I’d never interact with in person. I’ll update my review once I use the app longer and hopefully get at least one match. Update: I’ve used the app for about a year and have had mixed results. Nice to see that they’ve added a likes screen and that the community has grown. On the other hand, I’ve only had 3 or 4 genuine conversations with my matches and have been unmatched/ghosted a lot, but that’s what happens on apps and what you get when you have a generation of very entitled women. Would be nice to have read receipts so I can tell if my match has seen my message. Overall the app works really well and maybe you’ll have better luck than me.
  • Great Concept, Could Be Executed Better May 4, 2020

    By Revan2187
It would be great if FTH took a few more hints from other dating apps. Not only should distance filters be a bit better, but if someone likes you, the app should display them first so you can easily see who likes you and if you’re interested. Better that than occasionally seeing that someone has liked you but then swiping and swiping and never getting a match. Having a way to backtrack to the last person after an accidental swipe left would be super nice too. I love the concept because my faith is super important to me and I wouldn’t want to date someone who wasn’t a christian, but the whole app just feels a little clunky and hard to actually find matches on. Update: reducing it from 3 stars to 2 stars after the app lost a match I had with the same girl twice in a row in a period of about fifteen minutes. Unbelievable. If the app can’t even remember who matched with whom, what’s even the point? Update 2: dropping to 1 star after it did it a third time with the SAME girl in the course of another ten minutes. Y’all need to seriously work on your UI; it’s garbage

I like most of this app but it's frustrating that they recycle the people far away but make you pay to review the people in your area. Not many adds in fee version. The operation was not made clear at the beginning so I had delete my account and start over. Not as many scammers here as some apps. I like the setup on Upward but it would be nice to filter more.

READ! READ! READ! First and foremost, thanks to that person who was so thoughtful to start this app, I think it’s a great way for Christians singles to meet others especially finding those with whom their share the same faith, beliefs and also get to find their heart’s desires ! But one thing we must understand is that we are getting closer and closer to end times and the enemy is at rampage looking for whom to harm! It’s a Battle for souls! Make sure people don’t get hacked at all!!!!!!!! There are many fake accounts on there and no one seems to pay attention at all! I don’t know if the administration of this app can actually see that a lot of singles are being scammed! You think you found a real Someone yet it’s just another fella who wants to either waste time or actually ask for your number linked with your upward account and hack them! Other dating apps have a VERIFICATIONS where you can take a selfie and on the other hand, they make sure you’re the real of the account…! The distance thing is trash, it doesn’t work well…. You get to see people who are 600miles away yet you set it for only 60miles away!!! I love the new updates, you get to know the other person deeper! But people, be very careful!!!!!!! Not everyone on upward is actually a Christian 😭

Suggestion for developers - ability to scroll through pictures, once a photo has been selected. I keep having to back out of each individual photo instead of swipping through a gallery. Could you add the individual's distance from me, to the name and age bar at the bottom of their photos for a quick glance reference? Option to list whether an individual. Is interested in a long-distance or local relationship; whether they're open to moving or not...

I have had many matches... almost all its the same story. One day there will be great conversation and the next day it's like talking to someone new BUT ITS THE SAME "person" I was talking with. It's like it's basically bots or hired hands dragging messaging to keep some on the app. Not impressed. I tried to click "Contact Us" to mention the issue but it gets me no where.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! There are very few people that it shows. The app crashes to the point of where it won't even pull up on your screen. It doesn't take into consideration the settings you use like Age Preferences. One dude on there says he's here just to have sex but uses the F word. Fake Christian dating app...

Half the people you swipe left on will keep returning in the feed like forever. If you pay for the extra features it keeps bringing back someone in the like list you swiped left on and sends you notifications about them.Even if no one is in the like list after you've matched them in messages it keeps sending you notifications all the time about people being there. They recently added the distance feature, however this doesn't seem to work cause it still shows you ppl super far away from you.
  • Badly needs distance, height, and education filters. Mar 9, 2021

    By Allieeeemb
I wanted to like this app because dating as a Christian woman in your late twenties is hard y’all. Unfortunately, this app does not do it for me. I bought the premium version thinking it would have more features and save me time, but all of the important filters for me (distance, height, education) aren’t options! The app shows you people who are 150 miles away without letting you filter down the distance. How is that practically supposed to work? Also I don’t care who thinks it’s shallow, height is incredibly important! I’m 5’11” and it is uncomfortable for me to date someone who is shorter than me, and it’s uncomfortable for them too! If God wanted me to marry a short man, he would have made me a short woman! I put my height in my bio so that men can know how tall I am, but this really should be a filter because no one needs to waste their time flipping through profiles of people they are physically incompatible with or guessing how tall they are. Finally, being able to filter for education is also incredibly important! This goes back to basic compatibility, people with similar education levels are more compatible. Yes it’s possible to guess someone’s intelligence from their profile, but please save us time and improve your app by making this a filter. Why does this app have such high ratings? Who is this even working for???

I love you but I hate you, no distance filter = all my time and efforts for a long distance relationship. I guess the least i could do is pray for them. Oh, and I cant even go back if i swiped left on accident? So what do I do? Restart my account?! And if it’s telling me someone likes me, hook a bother up?! & put that person in my list of swipes... Or tell me who it is at least. I have faith in the dark for Jesus not your dating app. Lol add super likes maybe? Instant like and people will immediately be aware of who it is? And to go back on swipes should be a must! I feel like i lost the love of my life. She couldve been someone that liked me! This bothers me a lot. Also please add a filter of which denomination we prefer. If this werent an issue, we all wouldnt be attending different churches lol. PERSON AUTHENTICATOR! Please! For all the fake catfish accounts! The idea of your app. Is great, but seriously, no offense... it clearly wasnt thought through. Let’s be real... It reminds me of a college assignment i held off till last minute and just did ENOUGH to pass. So please, as a teacher... take this assignment back! And bring me back your best! Especially during quarantine season. I’d like to go out soon, and meet a wonderful Proverbs lady to intertwine my soul with. Seriously hurry up my whole family’s asking when I’m gonna get married. Hahaha Thanks FTH <3

The latest update is buggy and slow. There are too many fake accounts with inappropriate disgusting pictures. Their algorithm doesn't allow you to filter out by location, the denomination, height or political affiliation. You have to pay their features. Upward tries to hard to be like Tinder but the majority of the woman look like they are fake catfish or have mental health issues. Hinge, Match or eHarmony are the better dating apps / websites.
  • Confused and upset Jan 29, 2021

    By Adele_D
I never write reviews, but I am so upset by this app. I got this app a few days ago, like today is the 4th day. Everything was great and I was really enjoying the experience with it. Had good matches and actually had guys texting and interacting which was not the case on the first app I tried. So I was in the middle of a conversation with a guy and my phone went to sleep and when I went to check my messages again my app logged out. I went to log back in and it’s saying my account is disabled! I have not violated any community standards, my pics and profile was all appropriate. Even if something was wrong the app doesn’t give you any warning and there is no response from customer service. There is no phone number and no reply’s come from the emails. I have sent many emails now because I paid money for this app and I have not done anything wrong so I would like to know why I cannot access my account. This is supposed to be for Christians but that seems really shady! I’m really disappointed especially since I had a great first day and 1/2. I would have given a 5 star if this was corrected but I’ve read another review where this happened and Upward would not give a reason and banned him permanently. So I am assuming that will happen to me, which is not fair especially not even giving a reason why you’re banned. 😠

App worked for about a month until it started crashing everytime I would try to open it. I have contacted support multiple times to try to figure out the issue as well as get a refund for multiple weeks of payment for an app that is useless to me at this point. Ive gotten no where and will not be recommending this app to my buds.

After using Tinder, Bumble, and Plenty of Fish, I can confidently state that Upward is the best dating app I have used. I’ll be honest, when I first downloaded Upward I did not have any long-term intentions relationship wise, nor did I have a very Christ-centered mindset. However, my very first match helped me refocus my life, and we have been dating for a couple of months now. We push each other to grow stronger in our walks with God, set boundaries in our relationship, and I feel so blessed to have him. I am very thankful for Upward because without it, I likely would not have met my boyfriend as we live 5 hours apart. It’s tough, but we make it work, and we are looking forward to the future. I highly recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a long term, Christ-centered relationship, or to anyone who was struggling with their faith as I was. In my case specifically, I met a strong man of God whom I love deeply, and if that can happen for me, I’m sure it can happen for anyone else.

First of all the glory belongs to Christ and Christ alone because we know that all good gifts come from above. Ultimately though,Upward was used to introduce me to one of those gifts. I downloaded Upward in late December of 2020 and I initially didn’t have high hopes. I didn’t depend on the app to filter out people who were serious about their faith so I prayed about my search and meticulously read bios before swiping left or right. Eventually started to chat with a few different dudes but those conversations faded out. I also got stood up once but that event was quickly overshadowed by a very successful series of dates. I say very successful because those dates resulted in an engagement and an engagement of course led to a marriage. So in summary: I downloaded Upward, met a man who aims to put God first, fell in love with him and got married to him in less than a year. Our timeline may be faster than yours but hopefully the results are similar. Thanks Upward ☺️
  • So Grateful Dec 27, 2020

    By Coffeyfanatic
I never come on here to write reviews, but I am today because I’m so grateful for this app. My boyfriend and I started talking on the app about 6 months ago. Neither of us really cared for online dating before but felt like it was God’s timing. We matched on the app and started talking, had our first date, and the rest is history. I know without a shadow of a doubt this is the man I’m going to marry. One of my best friends wanted a Christian relationship, but was struggling to find a good Christian man. I told her about the app and told her she should download it. She was very skeptical at first, but she downloaded it and met an amazing guy! They’ve been dating for about 4-5 months and she told me that she thinks she found her forever person. All I’m saying is if you want a Christian relationship and you want to find someone genuine, use this app. The Lord has really blessed me through here and I am so grateful I took a chance ☺️
  • You’ll find connections! Jun 3, 2020

    By The Snow Dog98
I don’t see how someone could possibly give this rating a low star bc of the ‘lack of users’ .. there’s literally plenty of people, all who genuinely seem interested in their faith and are real people (not bots or spam).. if you’re truly seeking to find a connection based on faith and establishing a relationship more than just surface level, I’d recommend this app. I’ve made two good connections/ friends within a week and one I’d honestly say I hope grows into something wonderful. This isn’t tinder, don’t expect a quick hook up or having to swipe through endless fake profiles or people solely promoting their social media. The people I’ve talked to on the app, even matches I’ve decided I wasn’t interested in, have all been real people looking for connections. search with your heart, and if it’s meant to be, God will make the connections happen!

I had never used any kind of dating app before and never thought I would, I downloaded it for one day just to see if it was something I would like. I was simply lonely and wanted someone to talk to. I met a wonderful lady within the first couple of hours, I never thought this is how I would find her but it is. The Lord blessed me with her by bringing this app to my attention. I deleted the app a day later and began messaging her over Facebook. Long story short our wedding day is set for January 1st of 2021 and I couldn’t be more happy. All I can say to those who made this available is thank you from the bottom of my heart. I went from lonely to having a best friend and soon a spouse. One hundred and twenty nine days till I say I do and I can’t wait!

I was very hesitant to hop on any dating apps because frankly I didn’t believe in them, but Upward is phenomenal. They actually let you talk to the people you match with for free unlike others, the people there are all great Christians, but also very down to earth people. Can’t make any promises for anyone, but I met my girlfriend on there and she lives relatively far so there’s no way we would’ve crossed paths otherwise. I’m extremely grateful for this app giving me the opportunity to meet my love that I’d take a bullet for. Even before I met her, I was matching with a bunch of other amazing women so the opportunities are plentiful. The odds of meeting someone on this app are much higher than any other, highly recommend it.
  • Great app! Jan 26, 2021

    By cmhag93
I have tried different dating apps, and actually had a paid subscription for another one while also having an account with the former FTH, now Upward. Within 24 hours or less of signing up, I matched with a girl and we’ve been together for half a year! While I obviously deactivated my account, I wanted to leave a review and say that if it hasn’t changed, when there’s a mutual connection, you get a notification that says “you matched with _________” Where some apps show who swiped on you or you matched with, you just get a notification that you matched with someone and it’s like a surprise! I wish those using the app enjoy it and are successful! God Bless!

So this app is awesome, concept is great! This app really had me questioning weather I got any matches, I always get matches... I’ll get notifications saying I have likes and matches and when I check it, nothing! Also, I’ll have conversations with people and then get a notification saying that I have a new message and get there and the whole conversation and all my matches have vanished into thin air! Been getting most matches close to me and some far, far away. The distance thing would be great, but the small essentials need to be fixed... I really like the app but until these issues are resolved I guess I’ll just check in from time to time.
  • Mixed feelings tbh. Love and dislike it Nov 5, 2020

  • The good and the bad Nov 5, 2021

    By Megowns
It’s a great platform, great idea, the features that they have in the profile are excellent, concise to the point. Love that they have a bio and a spot to share about faith. That’s all good. Here’s the bad: Seems like people don’t get it. They give half-a answers, or just repeat themselves in both spaces. Maybe dating apps should come with tutorials on how to present oneself? Or like, here’s where you should be in maturity, emotional Development to function well on here. The people who occupy the space on this app, it’s rough. Like, just because it’s Christians doesn’t mean standards fly out the door… I nearly want to start a business in helping people create bios and choose photos. Those who have good profiles, don’t actually participate, it feels like there’s just good profiles you match with to keep you going. Just disheartening. Not the app creators fault. They’ve done wonderful advertising attractive men on the app to grab attractive women… but maybe they can market upward in all areas? It almost feels like, “I’m Christian that should be good enough to grab your interest.”

Name says it all. It is really focused on Christians. Interface is good but kind of clunky when swiping through photos. And unfortunately like every other dating app it is focused on paying to access most features. -1 point.
  • Great app but needs improvements Mar 17, 2021

Like many had said on these reviews before this app is great, but like with any app it is not without its flaws. I like the fact that it is all Christians on this app and that you don’t have to filter through and wonder what their faith story is. On other dating apps they just put Christian on their profile but don’t tell their faith story. That is what I like the most about this app. Is that people can tell you their faith story, so that way you can know where they stand in their faith. The couple of things that I would change app would be to include a mileage filter and a travel mode. I don’t like the fact that I have to skip through a lot of women that are 100+ miles away. I would like to have a filter that would allow me to narrow my range closer to where I live. As for the travel mode that would help when I am out of town for work and would allow me to continue browsing my area instead of the area that I am currently in. This would allow me to not miss out on people in my area while I am out of town.
  • First time Using Dating App Jul 29, 2020

    By Mr. Dr. Evil Porkchop
This is my very first experience with any dating app. This at first seemed cool. You must complete a profile to use app. All you do is swipe left/right at profiles but sometimes i am swiping up or down to view the next photo and then the app swipes it left or right. You can’t go back and re-view a profile you’ve already swiped (not that I’ve found so far...) After a while the generated profiles to view and decide ‘swipe left or right’, those profiles are people who are 500+ miles away... no filter. I do like how you can enter the denomination of your faith. Cool. Also there’s no search/surf button, to just freely explore users. I’ve called the customer service number once. They were polite and kind. So for a first time experience, not entirely impressed. I can’t even see the profiles I’ve ‘<3’ swiped right on. What if I meant to swipe up/down instead? I think I should AT LEAST be able to go back 1 previous profile...
  • Nice App for Christians to Connect Aug 31, 2020

I joined this app around Father’s Day at the convincing of my friends...lol! I denied online dating apps for years because I always wanted to meet my woman live at some event or church service. However, it was a pandemic, so I gave it a shot. It started off slow but I was definitely coming across some nice profiles and descriptions. I even came across some old college folk up there... people I use to spit game to when Not Saved...lol! However, after a couple weeks, I started getting matches... but the first two started a conversation then ghosted me...lol... have no idea why. Yet, the THIRD match... can someone say Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? Can someone say in THREE DAYS?lol! Yes, the THIRD match... I’ve been getting to know for close to two months... and it’s been SUCH A BLESSING! THANK YOU JESUS! Who knew the thing I was rejecting was the thing that the LORD had in mind for me to connect with one of His presentations??? Hallelujah Jesus is all I can say!

  • Could be better Oct 31, 2021

    By Godspeeacher

The app won't open. It just keeps failing. When it does work, it will allow you to set general radius of how far you'd like to see people but it constantly shows me people past my distance. That's fine if I want to but sometimes I want to only see who's close

READ! READ!
  • They’re on to something great! Jan 14, 2021

    By avm407
I think the app interface is simple and to the point which I love, I’m also someone who actually pays for “Elite”. One of the worst features is lack of location filter. It’s very frustrating when you’re reading a profile and you’re thinking “oh she seems like my type I would love to talk to her” only to find out that he’s 100+ miles away and you’re coming across way too many profiles of individuals who live 50+ miles away. This also leads to another issue because I’m noticing I’m spending more time than I would want to on the app because I come across maybe 5 profiles out of 20 who actually live in my area (I live in a metropolitan area). So outside of that I also wish there was a verification process like a photo to ensure you’re who you say you are. With that being said I think the developers are on to something great however after my current subscription end I’m not 100% sure I’m going to renew it because there’s another Christian dating app that apparently has a photo verification and location filter. I may just try it out after I’m done here however if you’re trying Upward for the first time I think you’ll enjoy it just keep in mind of the lack of location filter.
  • Pretty good, but.. Mar 26, 2021

    By Trev345
The problem with this app is the lack of a distance filter. You see how far away they are when you click on the profile, but it’s cumbersome to click on the profile every single time you see someone attractive. Their location should be one of the first things you see, and should be on the main card. Additionally, there’s a problem with age as well, at least for me, being an 18 year old. The smallest age gap I can have is 18-24. That’s simply no good, because a vast majority of people 18 year olds do not want someone that much older than them. A smaller age gap would be much better for people who are younger. This app also gives less information about the person than other apps like Hinge. In some other apps, it shows their height, political beliefs, and a few things they’re into. This app has no such thing. Other than that, this app is great. Even as a non attractive male, I was able to get 7 likes in a short period of time, and even matched with 3 of them. The people on this app are much better people than the ones on Tinder. You get the feeling that they’re on the app for an actual relationship, and not just a hookup.

The app is kind of expensive for something that's not guaranteed. I can get a TV app for that price. Some features should be free for new users for a certain amount of time. I guess everything in this world is all about money.
  • Torn Feb 26, 2021

    By Reviewr 01
I’m torn on this app because on one hand it’s nice because it’s algorithm isn’t absolute garbage like tinder or bumble. The app is supposed to have Christian singles, which I see for the most part. My problems arise when I can’t find a girl within 200 miles of myself. Every other dating app gives you the ability to limit the distance at which you see other singles along with other filters. However upward only allows you to use the age filter. They just don’t have it, you don’t even have to upgrade to use it. Also, I have some likes, I’ve only come across 2 of them over the course of weeks. Overall, my biggest issue with this service is the fact there is no distance filter. I know upward is a smaller app, but I don’t even want to see a girl if she is more than 30 miles away. I know this is harsh, but I and many other people just don’t really care for a long distance relationship. I’m definitely not hating on the app, i like the app, I just want more options. This review is really just for the developers. Hope you guys are working, or will work, on these issues. Thanks for your time if you read this.
  • Fairly Solid For A “Christian” App Oct 22, 2021

    By shortbanks00
Of all the Christian apps I’ve downloaded I’d say this is the second best. It’s got a large user base and is user friendly. It’s basically just like any of the other dating apps that are out there which also partly makes me think it is designed and owned by one of the major players like tinder or bumble or someone. I say that because there’s filters like “I’m here for 1. Friends 2. Casual 😉 3. Dating 4. Marriage” and it’s asks you to list if you smoke weed and how often. Now obviously Christians smoke week and hook up (casual) with people but if you’re truly and God honoring Christian who loves Jesus and attends church weekly, you’re probably not creating an app with those questions. So… if you’re looking for a serious Christian, this app probably isn’t your top choice but there’s still a vast number of Christian singles on here so it may be worth your time. Compared to the other app I’m thinking of though this one isn’t close. The other one asks a lot of questions to start but is legit a Christian app for Christians who are serious about Jesus and dating with intention. This is just tinder with a more specific user base.

I’ve met some people solid Christians on this app, even if most of that are fairly distant from me geographically speaking. However, there’s a couple of key annoyances. First, the number of people who have already liked me never drops, and I can (and have) swiped in excess of 400 people on one sitting. Still 99+. Second (and this combines with the first one), it will repeatedly (and randomly) revert to my general geographic area, showing me the same faces I have seen countless times. If I swiped away on someone, I generally did that with intent. I don’t want to have to swipe past everyone again, and again, and again so that I can finally encounter those people who purportedly already liked me. Finally, excessive notifications (“WWJD? Prolly start swiping for singles” - yeah ... probably not. Ditch that notification). I appreciate it for what it is. Technically speaking, I’m not very impressed. Subscriptions are overly expensive, and (unlike Hinge) undos are behind a paywall. Could be worse, but could certainly be better. Edit: I bit the bullet and got a subscription, just to confirm my suspicions. The majority of the people who had already “liked” me were people that I recognized as having swiped away. App is poorly developed. Edit: advertisements for alcohol now.
  • It’s ok Aug 18, 2020

    By ThyMetalHead
It’s ok. Just be aware that guys (I’m sure females as well) will claim to be a Christian but then message you and ask for nudes or things of that nature lol. Started talking to a guy I thought was great until he started asking personal sex questions and requesting for me to send him pics. Then he unmatched me and hasn’t talked to me since even though I gave him my number and insta. I’m just coming out of a year of toxic relationships and I went into this app believing I could find a better guy. Don’t go into it expecting to find a guy that actually loves Jesus. It’s all a facade. They’re just using the app for easy and unsuspecting prey. You’re probably better off on Christian Mingle or Match tbh. On the plus side it’s free and simple enough to use. Just wish there was a way to go back to your last swipe or something like that. There are no distance filters or which denomination we prefer which would be nice. I’m ok with not seeing who liked me unless we match. But I’m not going out of my way to talk to a guy that lives hundreds of miles away lol. You can’t even see where they live. This app needs a lot of adjustments and I realize it’s fairly new but they should really work out those kinks.
  • What Happened? Feb 3, 2021

    By Cierra_BE
I’m not sure what changed on this app from the time I created my profile until now. It seems that there are no standards anymore to creating a profile. I thought there were moderators that approved and watched these things. There are now almost nothing but spam accounts or accounts of those who just want to bombard the platform with nonsense. I would expect more from an app that is garnered towards a specific group of people. I had hopes that more filtering options would come along as things progressed, but they have not. The elite and premium upgrades also seem silly and more garnered towards money. Speaking on filters, there aren’t any to help steer you in the direction of person you want to look for and it makes things more complicated than not. An age range is all that there is. I would much rather use bumble, but does not cater towards christians and it has also taken a turn in more of a cash grab than anything. Over the years I have had EVERY dating app and website there is and this one has now become another waste of my time. I have to delete my account, please fix these problems for future members.
  • Some serious issues Jan 8, 2021

    By PaigeOutOfABook
Ok, my rating isn’t based on this but it should be noted, it glitched A LOT. I didn’t base my rating on this because it could 100% be my phone and not the apps fault, but it should be noted. My three biggest issues with the app are that 1) there is no way to set a distance. I’m only being shown men that are 150+ miles away from me, I’m never going to meet these people. I’d like to meet single likeminded people in my area, not really across the state. 2) there are a lot of people on here that treat it like tinder. I mean the amount of guys that seemed great through chat that ended up snapping me at 10am with unprompted *ahem* pictures, was astonishing. A lot of people are open that they aren’t Christian (but then why are they on a Christian dating app???). It would be nice if there was a way to select denomination preferences so that we could avoid that situation... 3) no one is ever on here and they frequently just recycle through the same people. I unmatched with someone and they popped up in like 3 seconds on swipe. Also there are a lot of guys who fish and hunt and it’s just annoying. That’s nothing on the app itself, just the people lack diversity.
  • Pretty solid, but misses a crucial feature Mar 3, 2021

    By Brennen Scott
I think the app is well-designed and works very well, it just needs some basic improvements. There is one feature, however, that is essential to the effective use of a dating app, that this one does not have. This missing feature is a Location/Distance Filter. This app allows the ability to filter by age, which of course is important to a lot of people, but does not have the ability to filter by distance. This means that I am making matches with people in entirely different states, and there really is no way to avoid that other than to view each individual profile’s entire details prior to liking or passing. This may not be an issue for some, but I do intend to meet those that I am interested in, and I am not interested in anything long-distance, so this inability to filter by distance and narrow my view to those within my area makes the app difficult to use and not feasible to finding someone. I think it’s an awesome app and has amazing potential, but this feature is essential, and without it, the app is not for me.
  • Not great Oct 4, 2021

    By WAitlisted
I don’t think I’ll be continuing to use this dating app. The interface is not easy to interact with and there’s also so little information that you are encouraged to enter most of the men only write one or two lines which isn’t helpful. They really should pull inspiration from bumble and how they have a bunch of preset questions that you can easily go in an answer from height to exercise preferences etc. They also don’t seem to have any verification protocols and so I’ve been catfished multiple times already by men who initially appear to be a reasonable number of miles away and once I matched with them it’s very clear that they are not based where they initially said they were, that they are not who they say they are and that all of a sudden they are thousands and thousands of miles away. It’s also very hard to figure out how to add more than one photo and so again most of the men you’re coming across only posted a single image which is not effective at all. I’m quite disappointed and was really hoping for a good Christian based dating app.
  • Wouldn’t pay for this again. Jul 30, 2021

    By SantiThePirate
This isn’t a particularly pricey app, but still not worth the paid version. If you wanna sign up and just “like” people hoping to randomly find a match than it works fine and let’s you chat for free with those matches. But after signing up for a paid version it barely changed anything. Still can’t message members unless they randomly happen to click me as a “like”. Still very few preferences to weed out some deal breakers or even just highlight preferred members, so you’re constantly seeing people who are too far away from you. Also no height or body type info or preference. Ended up chatting with a nice girl for about a week or so only to find out she was taller than me and she was looking for somebody on the taller side, I was looking for somebody on the shorter side, etc. these things may seem superficial but people are attracted to whom they are attracted to and that’s ok. Anyway, app could be improved, just stick with the free version as the paid gives you no extra benefit really
  • Lack of Search Features Hiding Lack of Members Feb 27, 2021

    By NH2FL830
The fact that you can’t search by anything except for age is a joke. I think the lack of filters is hiding that they must not have enough users to support each area. I’ve had three options within 50 miles of me, not matches just options. The majority of us are not trying to date someone 200miles away. I paid for the highest membership and people I’ve swiped left on keep getting presented to me and keep showing up in my likes - again hiding the fact that they don’t have a volume of users. I do like the simplicity of the questions being focused on faith. I’m fine that I can’t search by external characteristics (height etc) but I need to search DISTANCE! I was excited to try it, to be able to find serious Christians but overall I’m frustrated. I wish they would spend some money on marketing and just put that one filters in. I will not use it again and would not recommend purely based on those two issues.

I like the concept and appreciate the people that created this app for Christians. Just one thing that I had issues with is when I get notified of a new like I go to check it out and it disappears and can’t see the like. I see they tried to set it up like tender. One feature would be nice that if when you like the person it would right away send that person a notification. That person can see which person liked them and check-out their profile and see if their compatible. And just hit the heart or say no to save time instead of trying to guess. I really appreciate the app tho good concept. Also if there was a way to put in within miles location. I’ll be looking at profiles that are 400miles away and then I’ll see a profile within my location. Thank you all for your hard work. N oh if we’re able to just communicate with the other person directly and if that person doesn’t wanna talk to them they can just block them

Mar 9, 2021

The latest update is buggy and slow. There are too many fake accounts with inappropriate disgusting pictures. Their algorithm doesn't allow you to filter out by location, the denomination, height or political affiliation. You have to pay their features. Upward tries to hard to be like Tinder but the majority of the woman look like they are fake catfish or have mental health issues. Hinge, Match or eHarmony are the better dating apps / websites.

I fail to see how this is a "Christian" dating app. The terms for "Christian" seem very loose. There is 0 screening process. It is not friendly to use. Also it gives you an option to pick the distance that you are willing to accept, and it is completely ignored. Most options are over 100 miles away.
