Disappointed
Feb 1, 2018 Edit: The latest update made the app useless. I pay this company a monthly fee for their cloud service and I can’t even use it on my iOS devices on which I’ve installed the latest update. They also fail to reply to any emails requesting support. I’m dropping my 4-star review to 1-star. Very disappointing. I have (5) Foscam, FI9831P cameras set up on the perimeter of my residence for security. This app and service is a simple way to (cloud) record any activity on my property, whenever the cameras detect motion. This app and the system is nothing fancy and it could use some improvements, but for the most part, it does what it's intended to do. With this app, I can view and/or save the motion events that have been recorded to this cloud service. The live view of cameras through this app is not as reliable as the recordings, but I use another app for live viewing anyway. The monthly recurring charge for the cloud service is a little too expensive in my opinion, but It's easy to setup and seems to be reliable, so far.more -

Sketchy App, no support, poor functionality
Jan 5, 2018 First of all, do some research on Foscam. They are a Chinese company and very disjointed with different business units and distributors. Support is non existent for this service/app, only an email address that never responds. If you are not a home networking enthusiast, forget it. Assigning static IPs, forwarding ports, and FTP set up are just a few of the tasks you should be prepared for. It’s simply not easy, and if you do get it working, the actual functionality is garbage. The Live view never works, always choppy even with fast wired connections. The app itself is really only decent for monitoring triggered events and viewing and downloading the video. Foscam itself says this app is managed by a third party and Foscam Digital Technologies is not actually Foscam. They sent me to Amcrest, who said they had nothing to do with it. Amcrest said it was Foscam US...who knows? Unprofessional and faceless.more -

Apr 23, 2016 Very cumbersome app. It crashes a lot. It hardly ever works. The tech support that you have to wait for close to an hour for, takes forever to remedy and then crashes again after a few days. There isn't 24 hour support either. Just when you need it most, it's not there for you. Very unreliable. Get a third party app that's conducive to your devices and these cameras.more

Decent app / service.
May 15, 2017 This app is typically reliable. It's simple. I have four Foscam FI9831P cameras set up around the perimeter of my house. This app and the service allow me to record and view any motion detected on my property. The monthly cloud storage service charge for this service is much too expensive, but until I can find a cheaper service, I'll continue to use it. I pay $20/month and it will store several weeks of surveillance on the four cameras I have. The live view feature in this app does not work at all, but I'm only using this app to view the motion events that were recorded on their cloud service. I use a different app if I need to view my live feeds. This app could definitely use some improvements, but for now it's doing what I need it to do.more -

Oct 2, 2019 I would like it to consistently work for the best monitoring. The app is a monthly subscription and should be more user friendly. Please contact me if Foscam can remedy this issue. Thanks -

Better but still needs improving
Jan 28, 2015 A few things that still need to be fixed: - When I go to delete recordings it crashes. Every. Single. Time. - Live view never works. Thankfully one of other half dozen or so other apps that Foscam puts out works well enough to fill that function. - The push notifications are awesome - but I want to be able to turn off email notifications and only get push notifications from the app.more

What’s Groovy
After updating the app I was no longer to live view my cameras from the app. The recordings could be viewed and new recordings were being generated but the live view was gone. So I had to log in from my computer, delete all the cameras, update the firmware and add them again. Two of them were added and worked flawlessly. The third however couldn't be added to my cloud account. I can view the camera remotely with another app and all my cameras are setup the same so I have to believe the issue is with the site. So I called customer support and was number 26 in the que, 40 minutes later I got a person on the phone. He accessed my computer remotely and worked on it for over an hour before saying this was a common hardware issue. Really, took an hour to come up with that, I'm calling BS! Regardless he's unable to get it working with the cloud account. So he told me to email tech support and someone would contact me. Very frustrating since everything was working perfectly fine before I updated the app.
Update: finally got the 3rd camera working. I had to log into the camera locally go to the system tab and do a factory reset. Then set the camera up from scratch. I was then able to add to my cloud account.
I moved up to 3 stars because the recordings are much better after this update. However after 2 hours on the phone with customer service and a lot of trial and error before figuring it out myself I'm now drinking.
