  • Great addition to the book May 6, 2020

    By Kellhex
Hello- I love Carrie’s book and how it has diversified my workouts! I tried the app for the first time tonight and I like it, it pushes you to keep up with the exercises! I downloaded the app to add more exercises to the 6 that were offered in the book. My couple of comments are in relation to the equipment for the workouts, the book offers a great variety of equipment to work every part of the body. I have found after looking through the different paths that all of them just suggest dumbbells, will there be more of a variety added to these as well? It would be great too see some additions. Overall I love the Fit52 concept and working to be the best version of me I can be!

I really like the concept and I do work up a sweat. What I really like though is that tech is so responsive and helpful with issues. They have been so helpful and it is evident that they care about the functionality of this app. Changed from 3 to 5 stars. Thank you!

  • Great concept but needs more variety Jun 18, 2020

    By rbl00
The app works very well in it’s simplicity. While there are multiple avenues for improvement the biggest issue I’m having right now that’s making me stop using it is the variety. I fit a quick workout in in the morning, the half workouts are fantastic for this, but doing 2 to 3 exercises for a half hour just doesn’t work for me. You finish lunges and it tells you to get ready for lunges, Repeat that three times. Or maybe throw superman in the middle but then you’re doing lunges again. With 52 cards you would think you wouldn’t get the same exercise 2! 3, or 4 times in a row or not even with one different one in the middle and then again. One addition I would love to request is the ability to set what equipment you have for the possibility of harder or more advanced exercises. I love being able to get a half workout in on the two days a week I don’t have a lot of time in the morning and then get a full work out but something more advanced the than the other days.

I echo the many others here that it’s just too repetitive :( The sequencing gives you the same exercise sometimes 4-5 times in a row. I get that it’s supposed to simulate “randomness” with a card deck, but if there’s only 4 exercises to “pull from” for that workout, it is quite boring. So, that doesn’t practically work for a balanced workout. Sure, you’ll be sore—but, too many of a few things (especially for novices) can lead to over-fatigue & poor form...which we know is not developing the muscles properly & can cause injury. There’s a great foundation of exercises & the little videos are fun, but the library needs to be expanded big time. Perhaps even allow us to “like” our favorite moves? Sequence out the moves more equally? I say all this as a huge Carrie fan & a group fitness instructor, myself. So, great start & eager to see the improvements!

  • Good Concept, Needs ALOT of work May 18, 2020

    By Cam3150
I was excited to try this app but I’m am really glad I only signed up for the free trial. I did the beginner workout and the very first exercise was a burpee? For a beginner? That’s not really the issue though. Of the 26 exercises I did, literally only 6 of them were anything other than burpees or squats and those were still only compromised of 2 other exercises (Superman’s and arm curls). So 20 out of 26 exercises were either a burpee or a squat. Naturally, the burpees always seemed to land on the card with the highest # of reps and were often back to back. Not only was it too hard for a beginner, it was plain ole boring. Needless to say, I have already declined to move past the free trial. This workouts need a lot more variety before I’d even consider purchasing.

Couldn't wait to get the app when it was finally released for Android. However I'm not paying a fee for it. It would be nice if it was either free or even half price for Carrie's fan club members like myself. It's not so I'm going to have to pass.

I tried the beginner workout today and was very disappointed. There is a lot of repetition (4-5 consecutive rounds of Bodyweight renegade rows and 4-5 consecutive sets of leap forward shuffle backs). I actually don’t need a lot of variety typically but vegan to wonder if the program had a glitch or if I had somehow forgotten to press “next”. Also, 45-50min is a lengthy program for beginners (or many busy people). I was previously an avid exerciser but due to health set backs have started over and 15-30 minutes feels ideal for myself, and I’d guess many beginners. It would be nice to have the option to chose the time and equipment on hand before selecting a workout. Also music. App seems nice but lacking compared to many others I’ve tried.

  • Best Workout app ever Aug 17, 2020

    By alwayssrunning
It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. Keeps working out fun with the card “game” you play for what exercise you do and how many reps to complete. Offers quite the variety of workouts to choose from. Can doing something super intense and challenging but if your not feeling like a full workout like that, they have half workout options available as well. Perfect for getting your feet wet if you’re beginner or someone trying to get back into working out on a regular basis or just don’t have too much time on your hands some days but still want to get a workout in. Also, helps keep me motivated by connecting me with others that are following the same workout path as me and being able to post about it in a specialized feed. Fit52 is just all around a fantastic workout app and I would highly recommend it to anyone at any level of fitness!!

  • LOVE the workouts. Hoping for enhanced App soon. Aug 16, 2020

    By Mal6lory
I LOVE the workouts available in this app and the concept behind the app. I’m a Fit52 fan all the way. However, a few features that I’d like to see added to the app include: 1) in-app volume control (the voice in the app is quieter then the music app I use; wish I could control the app volume independently), 2) Would love info button to describe major muscles being worked during each exercise, and 3) ability to create a list of ‘favorite’ exercises (so perhaps once a week I could create my own Favorites workout). Truly though, this app has motivated me to get my workout routine back on track after a 3 year hiatus while becoming a parent.

  • Needs more equipment variety Mar 28, 2020

    By Anewbould
I am loving the idea of this app. Definitely would like to see the workouts more varied. And would love some sort of feature where you can input the equipment you have at home to get a wider variety or exercises. I’m on day 5 and have never used anything other than dumbbells. It would be great if you could enter that you have a box, yoga ball, resistance bands, etc. and then be able to get a wider variety of exercises using the equipment you have. The idea of this is great and I hope to see more advancements and fine tuning in updates to come!

  • Love it but room for improvement! Apr 13, 2020

    By Stephanie H-
I actually really love the app. I like the surprise of not knowing which exercise is next or how many reps to keep me from getting bored. I do wish there were more exercises- after doing it for 2 weeks I feel like it’s really a total of 12-15 exercises. More variation would be great to prevent boredom and muscle memory. Also would love an option to add equipment we have available like bands, kettle bells, etc. That being said I’m enjoying the app a lot but hope to see it get better and better!

  • Great concept, definite room for improvement. May 26, 2020

    By steeve26
Let me start by saying that I love Carrie Underwood and have always thought she was #bodygoals. So when I saw this app I jumped at the chance to use it. There are some definite good things about it, but also huge room for improvement. The great things are that you can get in a good workout in less than 30 minutes and I always end these workouts dripping in sweat, which is a great feeling. The room for improvement lies in the repetition of the workouts. Much like other reviewers, I liked the idea of the card deck and not knowing what you get, but when you get 5 sets of burpees (or any other exercise movement) in a row it ruins that enjoyment. I would like a little more variety in the daily workout (ex: a set or two of burpees, then some arms, then abs, then burpees again, etc.). I need to give that specific body part a longer break than 10 seconds and I hate pressing pause in the app. I also feel like I’m doing the exact same workouts each week. I’ve done so many lunges in the last two weeks that I worry they aren’t actually challenging my body much anymore. There are also some exercises that I physically am not coordinated enough to do, so I would appreciate if if there was an alternative/simplified version of the workout in the info tab. I’ll continue to use this app during the remainder of my free trial, but I don’t think I’ll be renewing it after.

  • Lots of back to back exercises and little focus on abdominals May 21, 2020

    By bjbrown89
At first I really liked the challenge of this app and enjoyed the full body workout. But with time I became frustrated that the exercises focus very heavily on cardio and legs and the exercise back to back for a good potion of the session, all great but not what I was looking for. In Carrie’s book she mentions how toning her midsection has always been the toughest area for her to target, same for me, so I was hopeful to find some exercises for that. Mountain climbers help but I need a bit more than that. Unfortunately won’t be renewing my subscription, there are other apps that are free that allow you to focus more on certain areas. Great app if you want a good cardio workout.

This was my first time to try this app and I did a full workout. Got a great workout in and was really sweating by the end of it but the cards were giving me the same exercises to do often 3 times back to back. This happened continuously throughout the workout. Would enjoy it more if it didn’t randomly draw cards and it had more of a set workout. Will continue to try it though and hope for an improvement!

  • Awesome Idea, Poor Execution May 19, 2020

I love the idea of a deck of different exercise moves. However, I hate that the exercise routines, instead of shuffling through the whole deck, only have 4-8 moves that they repeat over and over. I haaaaaate doing 14 burpees right after doing 10 burpees right after doing 13 burpees. It would be bearable to be working off just 4 moves if they at least alternated, but doing the same move after the same move drives me nuts. Ultimately I won’t be keeping the subscription. I wanted it for the variety, and it’s the lack of variety that killed it for me.

I do really love Carrie, and I love the ability to see her do some of the exercises. I will say however, even some of the beginner courses are too tough for people with bad knees, bad back, and bad joints. I wish there was a way for you to choose areas to target, or have the ability to skip exercises that you’re not quite ready for. I’m hoping to work up to being able to use the entire program at some point.

Like that you can customize workouts but thought the time in between each step was too fast. Also very jumpy didn’t give you time to get off the floor for one exercise to go into the other. There should be like 30 sec pauses between each, not practical.
