  • Absolutely phenomenal game Mar 19, 2020

    By Ninja Midgett
I was looking through random games and stumbled across this one. Now, I’m not a fan of games that limit how much you play with energy systems or whatever, but this game is an exception. It does use an energy system but the game gives you a few ways to earn it, even flat out giving you 100 each day if you sign in between certain times. But now to the reason I adore this game. There’s a comprehensive story that, for a mobile game, was surprisingly in depth. The voice lines I hear from characters make me love some and dislike others. One hero in particular gets put in my main formation for one specific voice line; “By my will and for my honor!” There are so many different types, personalities, races. Each hero feels unique, even if they’re similar to another. The way you level up heroes isn’t easy to the point that you’re maxing everything day one, but it’s not so hard that you feel frustrated. There’s an element of min/max-in your builds, but it’s no necessary if you just want to play more laid back. Best of all, it’s free! Yes, there are options to pay and they do have ways of enticing you to invest some money, but I’ve been playing for almost a year and never once have I felt compelled to buy anything! This game is a gem and I’d highly recommend at least trying it out. Worst that happens is you don’t like it. Best case, you become hooked like me and so many others, absorbed in this enchanting world.

This game is amazing and immersive. I really enjoyed this game but I was only able to give it four stars because to collect skystone is very difficult as the amount required to buy the covenant bookmarks is expensive and the low drop rate makes me feel very dissatisfied. I collected skystone to get a character in the event that said drop rate up but it was very difficult to get it without spending money until the end of the event. Can you do something about this? Can you make it easier?

  • This game is great, but... Dec 27, 2019

I’ve poured hours into many phone games (including Summoner Ears, Valkyrie, multiple Pokémon offshoots, etc.), when I get hooked I’m hooked for a good minute. This game was recommended to me from another avid phone gamer, apparently this is the only game he has continued to play (between other games) the last couple of years. I’ll bite, so I downloaded it. Graphics are greats, story line is interesting. Honestly this is a game you can play as little or as much as you want to, and it’s easy to pick back up if you’ve been devoting time to other adventures. Also a large pro, you can summon very worthwhile characters without spending money. Of course the want to spend money, so you can summon more, is there, but up front they’re pretty generous with summons. I’m playing with a couple other friends and we all have 1-3 natural 5* we summoned w/o paying money. My biggest annoyance with the game.... you can’t farm gold/in game currency AND the maintenance. I understand maintenance is important and helps us, users, to enjoy the game, but a lot of the maintenance seems to be spur of the moment (it might be announced 10 min beforehand or not announced at all) and varying in duration (sometimes it’s 2 hours, sometimes it’s 7, who knows). Download this game, it is enjoyable and well thought out, just have a backup game to play sometimes when this one isn’t available!

This game is quite good. You'll have fun at the start and then you'll have some problems with MATs midway, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be really fun. I gotta say there's a lot of currency that's hard to get but unlike some games, it's not impossible. So there's a chance to obtain stuff if you try. The arena is a tough one as it's hard to put a proper team and plus, you can get demoted. But anyways, the most I enjoyed were the hero designs and the animation ;) they're dope <( ̄︶ ̄)>

  • Want the best game for mobile? This is it. Jan 9, 2020

    By InfamousColin
Epic Seven is the only mobile game I play and it is the best. Best overall game and best mmorpg for mobile hands down. Storyline is amazing, gameplay is amazing and although progression slows down as you approach “maxing out” your characters, I still find myself playing regularly to acquire new characters and form the best teams and gear sets for each. I am fully free to play and can easily compete with other master rank players. If you choose to spend money however... you will spend a lot. The asking prices for in-game currency packs are ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS!! Just grind and use the avenues they provide you to farm relatively quickly and efficiently and you will be fine and have a competitive team relatively quickly. I do recommend making at least one purchase to increase your drop rates (definitely a thing). My drop rates weren’t very good when I first started but now I get solid drops regularly. And again... fully free to play. Amazing game, and the only one worth your time on mobile. I never write reviews, but this one is worth it. It’s a game that rewards playtime and is truly balanced for both free users and the big money spenders. Only one really broken character right now (Dizzy) but there are ways around her. Love you guys at Smilegate, thanks for making a quality title that can occupy all my idle time.

  • A beautiful disaster Dec 2, 2019

First I’ll start off with the good parts. The game’s character designs are great and free currency for summoning is fairly generous given and then things start to go downhill. I’ve been playing for about half a year and my experience a first was really good at first but there were many things that left me scratching my head thinking “why in the world would you do that”. The first of this is the layers of RNG in literally almost every everything in the game. Yes it’s a gatcha game but the RNG in this game borders on the absurd. I feel the biggest offender of this is making equipment. You grind materials, fork over the gold and from then on you have virtually no control on how the equipment turns out. Apart for selecting the part like a helm EVERYTHING after is random. In the most recent update a so called “solution” was added and it is the most convoluted thing I ever seen implemented in a game ever. So much so that it borders on insulting to the players. Every new system is added to the game takes the game backwards and the only solution they give is free items which don’t solve the core issues at all. Another issue is how intensive using gold is in the game despite there no being very few energy/time efficient way to farming gold. Every costs gold, even unequiping gear cost cost. The game has this bold plan 10 year plan but at this pace I doubt it’ll last that long.

  • Too much RNG Jan 1, 2020

    By PhamNgocY
Honestly tho, this game is awesome, and I would like to give it higher rating. Sadly, this game is plagued with astronomical amount of rng never seen before in gatcha game. Everything you n this game is chance-based, to the point that your investment of time and effort seem like a waste. In other games, grinding makes you stronger, in this game, grinding makes you “appear” stronger at a certain time. New real time pvp mode is fun and all but with the rng nature of the game, it will only turn into a horrible mess because of heavy rng and bad balancing. Since RTA comes with pick n ban mode, busted heroes are extremely difficult to counter as the best way to counter them is team comp, you will have to have equally or busted more heroes to counter them. If you want to play pvp, you MUST rerolling for super op ML heroes (or buy an accounts with limited and ML heroes). 98% of heroes you can get from the selective summon pool for new players are useless once you reach Master rank. If you like waifu collecting then don’t bother playing this game because you will sooner or later bench her permanently. If you into serious competition then you probably should just left. When i talked about how this game is rigged with rng, I wasn’t just talking about gatcha. You can lose entire match just because you constantly missing crit attacks with 99% crit chance 5 times on a row, and it’s happen very often.

  • No improvements with Rebirth Update Apr 22, 2020

    By X21@
Nothing in the game has changed really, even after they were advertising improvements and other stuff with the Rebirth Update. If there is definitely one thing they didn’t bother to change is it’s god awful gatcha system. Artifacts are still lumped with characters screwing up your pulls constantly. Unlike Dragalia where dragons are important and useful to have, Epic 7s artifacts aren’t that useful in comparison since they have more specific characters to go on making them junk when you don’t have said character. Even during this free pull event you’re more than likely to see a useless artifact be pulled 9 times out of 10, while they can probably be good on the right character it’s like I said it’s pointless to get them and have nobody to use it on. Since the launch of the game there needed to be a separate gatcha for artifacts and characters as the rates in the gatcha are heavily aimed towards getting the artifacts rather than the characters. Not only that but odds for 5 star characters are nearly as bad as summonses war sometimes, especially if that 5 star pull turns out to be an artifact. If you’re a collector I’d advise avoiding this game as you won’t get anything easily, not without some really good luck, heavy saving (and the majority of currency is from pvp) or spending a gross amount of money. If any of these things are off to you just avoid playing the game.

  • Equipment system is a lottery. Jul 18, 2020

    By Spidercrabb
The equipment system in this game is pretty much a lottery system. How it works in this game is that you will pick up a random item with random stats. There are so many stat combinations and only specific combinations are useable for specific characters. Then there is another layer of randomness when you upgrade those items (you can roll low stats or a useless/bad stat gets upgraded). This system makes it take forever to get a single decent equipment unless you get really lucky. It is also insanely difficult to gear up individual units since you can’t really target the type of equipment you want to get. Every so often, you get useable pieces of equipment, but they don’t match with each other. You will end up with 1 character with a fancy watch, but the rest of his outfit is rags; another character with a Gucci purse, but the rest of her outfit is a potato sack; another character with a single Kobe shoe, but flip flop slipper on the other foot, and so on. In this game, most of the days will be spent grinding for crafting resources, but rng will screw you over so you will have nothing to show for it at the end of the day. It is very easy to get burnt out playing this game. The game still has a player base because of its great visuals. It can take a year to make decent progress or if you throw down thousands of dollars of micro transactions. I do not recommend this game.

  • This game used to be good... Dec 1, 2019

    By Japan me
What started out as an awesome experience quickly turned into cumbersome, tedious grinding. There was a time where the devs used to listen to the suggestions of the player base and implement their suggestions while providing compensation in the form of in-game currencies. Now there are WAY TOO MANY currencies and WAY TOO MANY additions of new content that glaring issues with basic quality of life mechanics and UI experience go uncorrected. I started as free to play. Then out of sheer gratitude for the “good times” experienced in the game I bought several 5 and 10 dollar packs. Now I have ZERO desire to spend time or money on this game. When the devs make promises they fail to keep, they will lose their player base and potentially a lot of money if the players are able to prove to Apple Support that the Devs LIED about the direction the game would be going and continued to make promises they could not keep. A large portion of the fan base is unhappy and if a lot of the big spenders decide to chargeback their purchases this game is done for. I don’t want that to happen.. but seriously epic seven needs to step it up. They started out as a sincere, generous company that seemed to care deeply for the user experience. Now it just seems like they’re just like every other money hungry gacha game creator out there. You’ve been warned. Play at your own risk.

  • Easy to pour hrs into this game and still want more Aug 22, 2019

    By CannibalBunnies
First off this game does not make you feel bad for not spending money on it (huge plus). Great gatcha collector where even low lvl characters can be useful in some endgame content due to their unique skills. Great graphics and music. Beat the game before I wanted to spend money on it as I was still playing heavily. 2 things I wish was different tho. Endgame money requirements need to be heavily reduced. I’ve beaten some of the endgame content and I still need to put a heavy focus on gold farming just to do little things to attempt to get better at this game. Spending multiple days just to get a few attempts at better gear or seeing if it maxes into amazing gear really is a bummer because the answer is usually no. Not to mention promoting characters (you do that a lot!) removing or changing gear, efficient summoning (tavern is the best), and like 3 other things. Raid should change elements once a week or something. Having a majority of a raid being fire even if the bosses are not all fire means the requirements to start raiding are usually limited to newer players. I’m more than qualified for raid but some of my strongest players are green and they get destroyed while blue is my weakest and they’re what I need. I’m forced to use weaker guys and it’s taken awhile for me to clear much because of that fact.

  • Clever blend of simplicity and complexity Jun 16, 2020

    By Rainmantis
Starting out, the game appears as if it hardly even needs the player. The basic point and click interface grants control over which of 3 attacks to use, 2 in the case of a unit with a passive skill, and which enemy to target. The exploration seems like a simple side-scroller, but after a good many tutorials and a nice and hefty new player gatcha promo the game is revealed to be much more than what you see at first glance. The units become increasingly specialized in how they are best outfitted and many of the skill base their power on stats other than attack. This plays nicely into the equipment system where certain artifacts work better if equipped along with health boost sets, or a unit’s skill becomes stronger when equipped with defense sets. Added effects are almost standard to all skills and these too play an important strategic role in conjunction with the proper units in the right kind of party. Exploring also gains a significant degree of depth once reaching stages that allow the player the option of choosing which direction to proceed at any junction on the map and reveals a three dimensional layout approached through side scrolling mechanics. Very interested to see what else the game has to offer as more avenues of gameplay are unlocked as I rank up.

Overall, it's a good game. Lot's of content and the game is generally free to play friendly. Personally, I think the game would be better if there wasn't PvP. PvP is mostly pay to win as you'd expect from a gacha game because the best pvp units are a special element type that very rare compared to normal element units especially since most 3 and 4 * units are useless. No PvP means they could focus on making the PvE/story content the best they possibly can.

Okay, so, this is an amazing game. If anything really stands out here, its the incredible story. Seriously, the character development and personalities are like that of a novel! I appreciate the work you all put in here. My only issue here (and some people may like this) is how customizable heroes can get with gear. Sometimes its just too much to keep track of, there is always new gear, new heroes, its hard to stay on top of it all have retaining a strong party. Overall, great game though!

  • Great game, two major needs for improvement. May 25, 2019

    By Jekkylove
I enjoy epic seven and it is a really great game overall. But I do share concerns as the “most helpful” reviews: drop rates are a bit unfair with the amount of skystones you are able to acquire daily. I can really grind for skystones (scarce when you finish world difficulty as well) and still not receive any decent units to further my progress in the game. Sometimes I wouldnt have any other choice and would have to purchase packs, I’m sure that’s the gimmick. If given another easier way to acquire skystones or increase drop rates, it could help alleviate some of the difficulties of this issue. I’d also like do address how incredibly irksome it is to put together gear for your unit when you can not view all armor, including the ones that are already equipped. There could be an equipment manager where we can piece sets together to see the before and after stats of your unit. And then total up the amount of gold based on what piece of armor moves from one place to another. You waste so much gold trying to move your gear around and gold isn’t easy to farm when you use it for many other things as well. I can go from a few million gold to ten thousand really quickly. In order to reattain that amount, it would take so much time and use of energy which could be utilized somewhere else. It’s a big waste and this could be improved.

Actually one of the best phone games I have ever played. It would still be that way if it just stopped at episode one. After that getting enough powerful equipment and getting characters past 5 stars is nigh impossible. That makes it "for how I see it" impossible to continue past a certain point without spending money. You have to be super lucky to get that 1% chance for an "improved" drop rate 5 star character. I dont want it to be super freaking easy I just want it to be possible.

I agree with the posted review by Bulldog2284 and Ffrk yoyo. Epic Seven is a fun RPG with quite a bit of character content and team building options. Downsides include: 1 - extremely low drop rates for great, potential “end-game content” characters compared to the high drop rates of crappy multiple summoned characters, especially frustrating after hours of invested time on the game, rather than spending lots of real-world money for the chance gamble/summon 2 - why does it cost gold currency in the game to switch around and try out different gear options on characters I had had to slave away at grinding for in the first place, with crap gear that I already own after spending time grinding away at getting??? GET RID OF THE COST OF CHANGING AROUND EQUIPMENT I OWN!!! 3 - the game producers are definitely NOT generous. I have played better RPGs with much greater detail, content, graphics, and effort put forth by the producers in efforts to : HAVE A HAPPY CUSTOMER / CLIENT. Part of keeping your customers is keeping them happy, help them out, throw them a bone once in a while. Maybe give out a 6 star upgrade “package” to your faithful players instead of trying to squeeze every penny out of people for a fraction of a percentage chance at getting a decent character. Maybe you should have the (also extremely low drop rate) required catalysts for hero upgrades as a daily login give-away too.

This is a great game don’ get me wrong it has a good storyline, fun to play, great animations and very many characters to summon for however, there is a big problem that slows progress on any account immensely for free to play players and that is the “molagora”. The molagora is used to enhance a characters skills and most characters need several of these items to become strong. So far my point is that it doesn’t really matter if you pull many 5 star characters in the game especially if your just starting out if you won’t be able to use them properly for at least a couple months because the molagora is so scarce so for someone that is free to play and does not buy molagora packages from the store won’t have a very good time until they manage to get. Apparently you can get up to 3 molagora a week but it is limited to players with already strong characters and high molagora investments. If this is seen by the developers I don’t know what to suggest on how to fix this since I am still a new player but if this is how it’s going to be for the rest of my gaming experience I think im going to have to step away from the game.

  • RNG 7 Dec 9, 2019

    By DatOpPanda
The game in terms of aesthetics is the best I’ve ever played for mobile games and the character designs are amazing as well. However, gating progression behind multiple layers of RNG makes it more of a GAMBLE than a grind, it’s entirely possible for a new player to get better gear than a long time player just because that’s how the nature of RNG works which becomes extremely frustrating. The only useable gear you’ll ever get if you’re unlucky will be from adventurer’s path and abyss, and maybe arena if it rolls decently well. I see a lot of people complaining about stamina and gold but honestly it wouldn’t be a problem if gear RNG was tackled. This game does give a very good amount of summoning currency and has a pity counter on every banner so you’ll be collecting characters for free if you save up and spend your currency wisely. Overall, if you like collecting characters to stare at all day without caring about any end game content, this is for you(great animations and character design). If you want to actively play end game content and arena, ask yourself if your luck is good enough and if you have the time to gamble for gear.

Don’t get me wrong this game is really fun and addictive. Love the animation of the characters and how you can control there movement in game and the story. My only down fall is the summoning. You have a 53% chance to summon any artifact witch is okay, but the hero’s have a 46% chance to be summoned. Frankly you just have a much more higher rate of getting artifacts witch is no fun. You need a few different hero’s to help you in battle plus having the same hero’s you are using even if you lvl them up really high and some gear, it can still take you a while to beat certain enemies! I’m just puzzled on why the heck they did this type of summoning it’s terrible and your luck on getting a 3, 4, or even a 5 star hero is pure luck. Frankly it should be the other way around, hero’s 53% chance to be summoned and artifacts 46% chance. Sounds fair right? I would give it 5 starts but I’m giving it 3 just because of the bad summoning.

I’ve been playing for a few months now, and the game is fun, pretty graphics, frequent updates, etc. That being said, the draw rate for 5* heroes and artifacts is absolutely horrendous. This is not the only game I’ve played with an RNG system for obtaining heroes and items, but has the worst rates by far. 1.25% for a hero and 1.75% for an artifact. The boosted banners don’t even increase those odds, just the odds of getting the new hero IF you happen to manage to pull one. Other games I play have a 6-18% chance to pull a 5* hero or item, and have far more rewarding events. I don’t mind spending a little bit of money on a new hero, but with how bad the rates are in this particular game, you can easily spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get absolutely nothing. Grinding for hours and doing daily quests doesn’t pile up summons at an acceptable rate, and with a new hero every two weeks, it’s just frustrating to never be able to obtain anything new unless you pay. Even then, chances are your money will be wasted. I’ll be back if the game ever ups its odds acceptably, or allows you to obtain a hero after a set number of summons. Until then, skip this one. Your wallet will thank you.

  • Has potential but rates are ridiculous!! Jan 1, 2020

    By KaidenThe_Gamer
This game is a great game has a great storyline and all. But the rates for this game is so trash it really pisses me off. One of The only rpgs on mobile that I liked but nooo, let’s ruin a spectacular game with rates. Seriously, afk arena and idle heroes is better than you! Afk arena rates are around the same or maybe a bit worse than yours, but it’s way easier to get gems to do Summons! I forgot about idle heroes because I stopped playing that game, but I know I got 4 stars way easier than this game! And those two games are known for being p2w. Even though they have slightly improved. I’m not saying you need 4-5 stars, but from the time that I spent playing this game which isn’t a lot though, I’m predicting whales will dominate the pvp and the story line will get super hard but you only have 3 and 4 star heroes and one 5 star maybe if you did the beginning roll with 30 ten pulls. Please, please fix this game!! It has so much potential don’t ruin the chance you have please! For now I will play it for a little bit more but if this doesn’t change I will just move on to their rpgs like another Eden, Afk Arena, langrisser, and I’m just trying out azur lane.

  • Stingy Sep 25, 2019

    By GrimmDee
While I enjoyed the combat, some of the story and character animations, the game is stingy. Obtaining 5 star units are nigh on impossible because the rates are criminally low. In all my hours spent I only managed to pull 3 kind of decent 5 star heroes and countless weak 3 and 4 star heroes out of the thousand of skystones earned trying to get a foothold in the game. On top of trying to earn decent characters half the time you’ll get excited when the book’s page turns gold and turns out you pulled another artifact. I’m not asking for free or easy pulls for top tier units just make it simple to pull for things we want either summon for heroes or artifacts. Dragalia HAD the same issue with heroes and wrymprints in the same summoning pools but thankfully removed wyrmprints from summons. Flooding the summoning pool with arbitrary things is annoying and stopped me from even bothering to continue. Saving 950 skystones each time hoping for something good but it never does. I’m not going to spend money when half the summoning pools are filled with garbage. It can’t anymore. I’ll stick with FEH, KOF All-Stars and Dragalia.

  • Could have been so much better Apr 17, 2020

    By David Masis
I normally don’t rate apps but since I have been playing this game for a long time is really disappointing how something that could be done so well goes to the trash. Wyvern 12 and 13 which was going to be the main and most important thing we expected to happen because is where the gear comes from. But was done so badly, the energy requirements+difficulty are absolutely not worth because of how bad rewards are, w11 was already a problem because of the low rates of getting something good+the high requirements of energy and then you come with a much worse and harder version that needs more energy, it’s like laughing at our faces, and then, buffing units that are far from the list of units that really need a buff was also disappointing, there are units like Sage Baal and Sezan that need a buff because the job they are meant to do, they can’t even do that, Baal is just worth because of his s2 and his s2 doesn’t even do the job, 80%, only ONE buff, his s3 is trash and yet other better units receive buffs before he gets his kit fixed, just disappointing. I was expecting so much more since the rewards have been great, but w12, w13 and buffs that were necessary in other units... that was just a slap in the face I just hope with my ENTIRE soul that Ras sc is not as disappointing.

  • Most Extreme Cash Grab Ever Nov 9, 2019

    By Hghjjfghchgh
I don’t write reviews often but this one deserves a review. Honestly, the story, artwork, and play style are excellent. I’ve played a lot of similar games and this one is well polished and deserves a try. However, it’s an extreme cash grab compared to other as well. It has the same gem shop and package deals like the other free games in this genre. However, unlike most they only allow single summons instead of the usual buy 10, which usually gives you an improved drop rate on higher tier units or items. Also, they mix together item drops with the hero summons. So with the items and single summons available, the drop rates and chances to get a 5 star champion is horrendous. You will be lucky to even get a 5 star out of 3000 gems or more. I understand it’s supposed to be rare and luck may be a factor, but they make it so you have to spend crazy amounts of money unlike any game I’ve played. If you are not a big spender I wouldn’t waste your time if you plan to invest a lot of time into this game. Even if you are, the amount of money you would spend to get the hero you want is probably costing you double our triple compared to other games in this genre. Probably why they can afford commercials for this game.
