This app is crazy! To be able to aggregate all of your financial data into one place and be able to make sense of your finances is great. In today’s world everyone usually has a few credit cards, a bank account, and investments. It’s been a pain to login to every account and try to figure out how much you owe, how much money you can invest and what you still owe for the month. On top of that making a budget is needed for most people to make sure you can actually stay on track financially. This app does everything! One of the coolest features i like right off the bat is it tracks subscription services and will tell you how much you have to spend still the pay period(like bills that come up at the end of each month) and also watches to let you know if there are price increases on your auto payments! I could go on for a while trying to tell you all the features I’ve already discovered. Seriously this app is probably gonna save me hours each month not having to track everything manually. I feel like I have my own personal accountant. Download this now and try it; see how much it can help you!

I really like this app. Only downside is the yearly subscription of £60. If that could be paid in instalments, it would be better. Especially when trying to save money and stick to a budget!
  • Best personal finance app out there Apr 27, 2020

This is the first finance app I can honestly say I LOVE. Why? Its beautiful simplicity. I’ve tried ALL the personal finance apps out there. They all have way more features, more power, more knobs and levers... more crap you don’t need that distract from what is critically important... spending below your means. Am I on track for this pay period? Yes/no? If no, why? Emma does this perfectly. Paired with a beautiful UX that is easy to use... couldn’t be happier. Their biggest problem is Pro... why spend money on getting all the crap you don’t need, when the lack of which makes your app so compelling? My advice to Emma... stop trying to “me too” build all the features the big dogs have. Focus on the everyday guy/gal who is living paycheck to paycheck. Rollover money when I don’t spend it all, or borrowing from the next pay period to find some extra money today. History of budgeting success. Am I getting better or worse at managing my money, etc. Make those Pro features... I’d gladly pay for those because they meet me where I’m at.

Amazing app! It helped me realise a fraud with a direct debit going out for the past 2 years that I never noticed! Luckily my bank are refunding it!

I’ve used them all...really. The competing apps out there just could not package everything I wanted. They were either way too granular or way too high level. Emma finds that middle ground beautifully. I’ve got all my bank accounts, credit cards, car loan and mortgage, insurance and investment products loaded. That includes large and small firms (like my local credit union). Everything is there and works beautifully. I track my transactions, monitor subscription services, set budgets (using free version which has fixed amount of stuff, vs pro which offers flexibility), etc. The few issues I’ve had, I used the chat, connected with a real person (Joel rocks!), and seen my problems fade away. Really could not be happier, and really could not recommend this app enough!!! Uninstall those others, and find Emma!

I will definitely be deleting this app. I like that it shows my transactions and allows me to categorize them, but beyond that I don't like this app. When I have a bill or something I paid, or even if I get paid, it always reflects a day or 2 later. Anytime I spend money it says I'm going past my budget but there's no way I could set a budget or even see what my budget was. It just keeps saying I'm going over. Even when I buy the weekly groceries it says I go over budget. Its actually annoying.

It does what it’s suppose to do well, but today they bugged me. I use this app to track finances, not for nonsense. They asked me if I know Pokemon, but called them Pokemons, so I was interested in what type of questions they were asking about “pokemons” lol. The quiz asked me some of the most basic questions of the franchise, but after you answer you have to wait. In my disbelief, I went to text my friend about how ridiculous it was, but it turned out the quiz continued without me and by the time I came back I had missed a question, so I exited and failed. Obviously none of this matters, but it was annoying and extremely unnecessary to be apart of the Emma app. I hope there are no more “quizzes”. It doesn’t really make sense for someone to win money anyways. Especially from a helpful app. It kind of makes it seem like they feel that they to entice us to keep us using this app.

The app stopped working. It no longer syncs with most of my accounts. It has been not working for a month now, after several days with support they have concluded they do not have a fix, or a timeline for a fix. I am now waiting for a refund which could take up to 2 weeks.

Tried the pro version but I'm so frustrated. Its not even accurately reflecting my bank account and no matter if I tap the refresh button it still says updated 7 hours ago. My paycheck was deposited how can I plan things when emma won't reflect that? Its pretty so I'm disappointed this isn't working. Also PRO support is only available starting at 12pm? Very disappointed. Edit3: no response from support. PRO Support = No Support ig. Bank account still not synching.

It looks quite good, but when I tried to connect to my bank there were some issues and now all the transactions are tripled, so nothing makes sense. Also, even though I paid for Pro there are a million adverts "suggestions" and I can't suppress the ones I don't want to look at. I then tried moneyhub and it all worked.

I really like the daily updates and the analytics. The categorising is a little confusing in its choices at times but this is easily amended. My one thing is the insights sometimes seem a bit skewed. For example, I'm apparently spend more than 99.99% of users on 'shopping' which I spent £40 on for the month. So either there's not enough data or people spend very, very little. But apart from that I really like it and feel like it's helping me get back on top of my money

I got this app for the first week when the free trial was available and I can firmly say it got me hooked! Really good concept of money management and much better than others I tried, (there were a lot). Good price and I bought a year of premium after the trial ended. There are basic features like connecting your bank that I like that is good for accurately tracking your money which is great and all, but I wish the app had more content and features for their premium subscribers. Nonetheless great app!

Really helpful, easy to use money management and analysis tool. So simple to set up to. Only annoying part is the constant encouragement to sign up for the Pro version. Which doesn't seem worth it atm

Emma feels leaps ahead of most budgeting apps and banks, It imports all my starlings bank records and even the savings spaces so my networth is reflected accurately. It also does a really good job at excluding transactions on transfers, I'd love to see freetrade added so I get a real picture of my savings as well. Adding and removing subscriptions could not be easier and more flexible, notifies me on upcoming payments and what's left to spend this month. UI looks nice but is quite messy.

The ads are getting weird. I'm an overspender, Emma helped me get control. It can't fix years of overspending, but for the last 6-months I have been near budget. That is incredible and I'm very thankful. However I have noticed an uptick in ads, especially push notifs. Some of them are inoffensive, but there have also been a lot for investment services and cryptocurrency. Seems very unethical when many users have problems with understanding financial matters. Also, there are too many ads!

I like where it's headed, but still fairly new and I can't use all the features to its full extent because of it. Can't connect my schwab bank account for some reason through plaid, cant connect my venmo/cash app accounts (used for a credit card, and fractional investing, and split bills with roommate which would show income), and only mobile access (no desktop/web app). Subscription fee seemed a bit steep as well at 89 a year (unless you get their 1 year off promo dropping it to 29 a year)

Not a fan of paying $5+ a month for a budgeting app that doesn’t value that price, especially when saving is involved. Otherwise a great app, just greedy costs. Im probably not the demographic for this app.

    By D1ZEUS
It’s a pretty useful app! However, why can’t I sign out or delete my account? If there is a way, I can’t find the option in settings. I’ve examined the app for 10 mins trying to simply sign out.

The app app itself is great, but the emojis and overall them of this app seems geared more towards kids and not a person in their mid 40s.

  • Can not connect cc’s kills this app Oct 28, 2019

    By Jskittle
The app itself is very nice, but not being able to link a credit card (like in similar apps) tends to ruin everything for me since all my transactions occur on credit cards. You can add a “manual card” but then you have to include all the transactions yourself and then the app is more of a chore then a helpful tool. Will not being using this app until ability to link credit cards is available.

Pretty clever, entertaining and cheeky way to view your spending. Would be useful if it ever actually displayed my correct balance. UPDATE: there is literally not ONE single time that this app displays my actual account balance accurately. Every morning it sends me a notification of how much I had like 3 days ago. Deleted.

Easy enough to use, trying to delete the account is an asinine progress though- have to message the “support team” and then wait nearly a week. Definitely uncomfortable as this houses your financial info, and needs to be updated to be able to be deleted by the user.

Got a new phone and can't login. After I go through the phone number bit it's like sorry you need to log in with your email address. It only gives me the option to login with apple Id, Facebook and I have neither. I have an email. Waste of time, very buggy app. Would not recommend because they just bombard you with "pay us money" anyway so kinda happy I can't ever use them again.

Notification keeps breaking. Just nice interface but bunch of numbers which doesn’t make sense. No ability to see by date range, if u make mistake no possiblity to change the date apart from deleting the whole transaction. Bunch of useless graph. I don’t see any reason to pay so much for your experiment.
