    dropping channels only 7 left May 1, 2021

    only 7 channels and on a 30megb fiber line not going over to hd quality. nobody seems to know whats going on. all other apps working perfect . i have this problem on an lg 4k thinq tv. my smart hisense only loosing channels. so frustated!!!!!!!. if anyone can assist

    Usually I love this app and being able to watch on the go, but lately it is starting it be unstable. Almost every week now out of nowhere and doing nothing out of the ordinary, I get a message that says I have reached my streaming limit of two devices at the same time, and I must dergister from one to continue watching. I have to go out the app entirely and wait at least an hour until I can get back in to carry on watching. This is despite me only watching through the app on one device at the time, never mind that you can have up to five devices connected. Logging out and in again or reinstalling the app doesn't work, and I just have to wait. Not sure what is going on with the stability of the app, but what's the point if you can't count on it to watch your shows.

    A few basics they need to get right: 1. Give people the ability to remove something from their suggested lists. I don’t want to watch Isidingo or Masterchef, give the user the functionality to remove that from their suggestions and keep it off. If I change my mind, I can go find it. 2. Improve algorithms to match shows ‘You may be interested in’. So I watch action, now I may be interested in Masterchef. I watch sport, now I may be interested in Masterchef. I watch comedy, now I may be interested in Masterchef. You get the point? If what I watch has no bearing on what you show here, then just remove this whole section because it seems more that promoted shows are put there than what I actually watch. 3. Allow users to set the picture quality and subsequent download size based on connection. For WiFi connections, I want HD but for mobile connections I want a lower quality. The user has to manually change this if they so want to. Generally, a lot of potential, definitely some easy improvements can be made which will make this an easy 4-5 Star app (from a functionality perspective).

    The overall idea of the app is superb. However, the point is to have the same programs as the ones available on the decoder I suppose? This is not the case. Many shows are blocked on the app due the DSTV not having permission to show them which defeats the essence of the app. Second issue is the fact that many times they jump to the next show while the current show is still running. I guess they set the show sequence based on time no matter if the show started or ended late causing us to miss a chunk of minutes of shows.

    This app was practically unusable for a few years, but now works perfectly I’d say. You can watch live tv, download to your tablet, make updates to your account, etc. as a Nigeria user. I’m not sure you can pay subscriptions via the app. Not tried that yet. This should be a 5* review, but as a frequent traveler outside the African continent, I am not able to watch anything outside Africa. That’s a BIG problem for me. Fix that and you have my 5*

    After down loading this app on my iPad and Apple TV post the press release there is constant freezing and buffering. The error message of something went wrong please try again later is the only thing that seems to work.

    I love this dstv app and I have it on my iPhone, but anytime I exit the app and then restart it, all channels will be gone except from dish 100 even the catch up won’t be available, everything will just be upside Down until I re download the app and re login before it gets back to normal, then same thing when I exit the app again Please upgrade and fix errors

Let’s start with my biggest gripe - and this is a problem with all of DSTV’s digital offerings, including Showmax - why on earth must we be limited to running the app on a small number of devices? With intricate rules governing how often devices can be added or removed? Just do what Netflix and Prime TV and so on do: Limit the number of concurrent streams to two or three, but don’t limit the number of devices please. Other than that, the ability to remove items from suggestions would be great. Overall the app is getting better and better, though it lacks just a little bit of polish.

    Disappointed. Cannot get past the registration. My email address is invalid and cellphone number too. Trying to resolve the issue with live chat is also totally disappointing. I deleted the app....really not worth the effort and data used to even download again

    I could've given you 5 stars but that last star is for making this app using extra mobile data while i have already paid for my dstv package...please make it an offline app just like dstv dish and i'll make it 5 starred....and thank you for resolving my “error code: per 1” problem coz it seems you care much about your customers

    Was a 4 star. Now a 1. Can't access the channels I want to watch. Works fine on the PC but the app has become unusable... Perhaps if enough subscribers cancel their subscription you will have to either improve or sell your rights to broadcast rugby, football and cricket to a service that has the ability to stream to customers when they actually need it....

    Was working fine until recently, latest update buffers way too much and way too often on my tv box when watching catch up. As a result, the shows stop often and I have to click to "retry' or 'resume' the show. Then I end up having to rewatch the ridiculously, overly loud adverts again and again, 10 loud silly ads in a 30 minute show just made me switch back to Netflix and live without my weekly watch. We're people, not products. Making the ads louder just makes me hate them more. Come on dstv..

    The app is great in that I can watch anything on the go and the video quality is excellent. It is very easy to use and streams quite consistently. I just don’t know why I can’t seem to cast the app to chromecast. I constantly get the message on my tv screen; sorry, there was a problem playing the video. All the while the cast icon on the top right of my screen is still connected to chromecast. Would like any suggestions from the developer as how to resolve this. Since this is a feature the app has I am disappointed it doesn’t work as it limits what I would like to do that is the reason for my rating. I understand everyone has different uses and if one wants to primarily just stream on the phone or other handheld devices then this does just that brilliantly.

    This app used to work perfectly well until sm years now if ur not having log on issues it is?error messages or u can't access d app..jezzz its so frustrating and annoying it is to be one of my best apps since it dint feel like I was missing anyone wen am away frm home or at work..but right now I look useless to me 4 1 who pays premium bouquet will be deleting this app some if dstv dsnt fix..I used to rate this app a 4 5 star but right now don't no..dstv pls look into this and get this sorted out

    I agree with the other reviews. App is not great. Is has great potential however. Too many poor streaming experiences to my apple tv. Lots of freezing and stuttering. Wish it worked better. Also, apple tv app is still missing which is a massive gap from a development point of view. 6 May review: After the update for the previous version i could for the first time since using the app airplay an entire episode without constant buffering / freezing etc. So step in right direction. However it was inconsistent. Sometimes it worked and other times i could not even airplay anything. Lets see what this latest version does. 11 May review: Yup. Back to the old days. Cannot airply to apple tv without constant freezing / stuttering / no sound etc. Cannot even watch properly on lowest quality setting on my phone. Showmax works perfectly, maybe learn from them?

    App works fine, but why all of a sudden i cant chromecast from my phone to my tv via my android tv box?? It picks up and shows the channel i select on my tv but it doesnt want to show any picture at all, it just shows a small searching circle at the bottom left of the screen, i can cast youtube and facebook vids without a problem, but all of a sudden i cant cast any dstv channels anymore? Have you guys change any settings from your side???

    The app used to work fine...but now after watching one episode I have to logout and in again for the app to function properly again...its quite frustrating and sometimes I'd be watching an episode and all of a sudden an error appears and all channels are wiped off...again i have to log out and in to fix this👎

    I am having an issue with DSTV Now on my laptop as it plays video for only 10 minutes before blacking out and showing me an error message "PER 100202", this has been happening for the past two weeks and people online are angry as there's no solution from the Internet. How can this be fixed?

    US residents are not able to subscribe to DSTV due to broadcasting rights not available outside of Africa. It’s really disappointing because I, for one truly enjoy African programming and sure there’s plenty more according to the reviews that feel the same way. So with that in mind, I have a question. The US Market could bring more revenue to you guys if expanded to more countries/continents. Knowing the broadcasting rights are an issue, how would your company go about getting those broadcasting rights outside of Africa to allow people like myself to subscribe? Thank you and hopefully you guys would consider expanding in the near future.

    The app won’t let me watch all my live shows again!!! I’m always on the move and this app is the only avenue i get to watch my live shows but recently it’s saying I can’t watch anything that it has to be watched on my decoder.

    App works well, really love it. The only thing I have an issue with is that the video quality option doesn’t work, when I set it in both the profile and video it will always pushes out the max quality which kills the download speed.

    I really appreciate this app cause it keeps me happy when am not home closer to my decorder since I got connected with my dstv account, but it's overheating my phone my battery could stay for long yet startime app does not do that and consume data, only problem with app battery overheating and data consume if you can improve it please is highly appreciated thanks

    I lived my whole life in Nigeria and recently just moved to the US and I want to keep watching the Nigerian shows I usually watch and also the Bollywood shows on Zee world. Now that being said I tried to sign up so I could continue watching my beloved shows, instead of me chilling right now and watching Zee world, I find out that it’s not available for people outside of Africa and that is extremely heartbreaking and disappointing

    I paid for a streaming package 2 days ago and all I got were free channels!!! I contacts DSTV and after a very loooong process to reboot nothing worked. They escalated the matter to technicians who responded saying they will let me know once they have resolved the matter. Meanwhile I have paid for a month of streaming and I have no idea when DSTV will be able to resolve this! Such terrible service! I want a refund please if this is not sorted immediately. I can't be following up with DSTV.

    Changed from 4 stars to 1. Some days the app works well but most times (like today) it doesn't work at all. It's quite frustrating that it's meant to be a convenient way to watch shows but it proves to be the most unreliable means at present.

    You would think that naspers, as a self professed internet company, would have half an idea how to use elastic cloud servers to meet demand when everyone logs into watch a live event.... but clearly not... the app spends more time trying to buffer and change resolutions that actually showing the content that it makes the experience a complete insult to us as consumers.
