    Usually I love this app and being able to watch on the go, but lately it is starting it be unstable. Almost every week now out of nowhere and doing nothing out of the ordinary, I get a message that says I have reached my streaming limit of two devices at the same time, and I must dergister from one to continue watching. I have to go out the app entirely and wait at least an hour until I can get back in to carry on watching. This is despite me only watching through the app on one device at the time, never mind that you can have up to five devices connected. Logging out and in again or reinstalling the app doesn't work, and I just have to wait. Not sure what is going on with the stability of the app, but what's the point if you can't count on it to watch your shows.

    The app very helpful, specially for catching up on missed episodes. The only problem I have is the number of catchup videos allowed to be downloaded by my device. I have only one device, of which currently I have 3 videos that are downloaded for offline viewing. However the device shows that I have downloaded 25 videos already, which is a problem I am still having trouble fixing, I also tried getting help from the live chat, they couldn't resolve this matter

    3 stars: I do occasionally get the video authorisation error which seems to be fixed whenever I connect to Zamtel WiFi network (MTN doesn't when the error appears; never tried with Airtel). I have also learnt that reducing the video quality averts the video lagging problem. It still needs more work by my account. Nevertheless, I do enjoy it for the better times it doesn't malfunction. Kudos.

    A few basics they need to get right: 1. Give people the ability to remove something from their suggested lists. I don’t want to watch Isidingo or Masterchef, give the user the functionality to remove that from their suggestions and keep it off. If I change my mind, I can go find it. 2. Improve algorithms to match shows ‘You may be interested in’. So I watch action, now I may be interested in Masterchef. I watch sport, now I may be interested in Masterchef. I watch comedy, now I may be interested in Masterchef. You get the point? If what I watch has no bearing on what you show here, then just remove this whole section because it seems more that promoted shows are put there than what I actually watch. 3. Allow users to set the picture quality and subsequent download size based on connection. For WiFi connections, I want HD but for mobile connections I want a lower quality. The user has to manually change this if they so want to. Generally, a lot of potential, definitely some easy improvements can be made which will make this an easy 4-5 Star app (from a functionality perspective).

    The overall idea of the app is superb. However, the point is to have the same programs as the ones available on the decoder I suppose? This is not the case. Many shows are blocked on the app due the DSTV not having permission to show them which defeats the essence of the app. Second issue is the fact that many times they jump to the next show while the current show is still running. I guess they set the show sequence based on time no matter if the show started or ended late causing us to miss a chunk of minutes of shows.

    I think multichoice DSTV is making and worried about us as customers. This app is totally useless. Always buffering you can't enjoy any thing. I first thought it was network provider, I then switched to other network providers to check. I then realize its the app that has the problem. Honestly you guys weren't ready when you launched the app

  • Great app apart from the inability to cast from my iPhone to Chromecast Oct 5, 2019

    The app is great in that I can watch anything on the go and the video quality is excellent. It is very easy to use and streams quite consistently. I just don’t know why I can’t seem to cast the app to chromecast. I constantly get the message on my tv screen; sorry, there was a problem playing the video. All the while the cast icon on the top right of my screen is still connected to chromecast. Would like any suggestions from the developer as how to resolve this. Since this is a feature the app has I am disappointed it doesn’t work as it limits what I would like to do that is the reason for my rating. I understand everyone has different uses and if one wants to primarily just stream on the phone or other handheld devices then this does just that brilliantly.

    I agree with the other reviews. App is not great. Is has great potential however. Too many poor streaming experiences to my apple tv. Lots of freezing and stuttering. Wish it worked better. Also, apple tv app is still missing which is a massive gap from a development point of view. 6 May review: After the update for the previous version i could for the first time since using the app airplay an entire episode without constant buffering / freezing etc. So step in right direction. However it was inconsistent. Sometimes it worked and other times i could not even airplay anything. Lets see what this latest version does. 11 May review: Yup. Back to the old days. Cannot airply to apple tv without constant freezing / stuttering / no sound etc. Cannot even watch properly on lowest quality setting on my phone. Showmax works perfectly, maybe learn from them?

    I rate is app zero. It keeps saying "something went wrong please wait and try again in few minutes" when I'm trying to watch my shows. Even after minutes no difference. I saw a couple of other reviews and I've noticed that Multichoice doesn't even care about the reviews coz it seem like an automated computer at times is responding to most reviews. Don't direct me to live chat just write a solution here so others who are experiencing the same problem can be help.

    I can give this app a negative 5 stars really. I have been trying to activate this app since it became available. When I want to link my account on the app. It takes me to a page where it asks me for email or phone number. I have selected both on separate occasions but the same think happens... What happens is that I get an OTP to verify my DStv account. Then the endless struggle of "Something went wrong" appears. Been happening for 4 years now. Over and over.

    Left Dstv years ago, love the streaming service. Back now and the App is great. Affordability is an issue and it won't do well if the Premium streaming package is not reduced in some form. Would like to see BoxOffice on the App for mobile users sooner and the ability to ge set notifications for when favorite shows start. But all round well done.

    After down loading this app on my iPad and Apple TV post the press release there is constant freezing and buffering. The error message of something went wrong please try again later is the only thing that seems to work.

    The app is much better now on the android box. There are items in the recently watched tab and the menu of channels comes up while i watch. Dont have to exit and go to another channel. Only thing to fix now is catch up. It keeps buffering and image jumps from hd to sd and then gets pixelated. Took me 48 minutes to watch a 30 minute episode with all the buffering. I think it wil also be nice if we can have a tv guide on the tv/android box app. Missed a few live games...

    This app was practically unusable for a few years, but now works perfectly I’d say. You can watch live tv, download to your tablet, make updates to your account, etc. as a Nigeria user. I’m not sure you can pay subscriptions via the app. Not tried that yet. This should be a 5* review, but as a frequent traveler outside the African continent, I am not able to watch anything outside Africa. That’s a BIG problem for me. Fix that and you have my 5*

    It is great but the apps tells me I can't download any videos as I have exceeded the limit of 25 videos. The app did not mention the limit before downloading videos and still does not allow me to download at least up go 5 videos with that reminder, even though I have deleted all the previous downloaded videos.

    ...not quite there yet, either. Let’s start with my biggest gripe - and this is a problem with all of DSTV’s digital offerings, including Showmax - why on earth must we be limited to running the app on a small number of devices? With intricate rules governing how often devices can be added or removed? Just do what Netflix and Prime TV and so on do: Limit the number of concurrent streams to two or three, but don’t limit the number of devices please. Other than that, the ability to remove items from suggestions would be great. Overall the app is getting better and better, though it lacks just a little bit of polish.

    App works well, really love it. The only thing I have an issue with is that the video quality option doesn’t work, when I set it in both the profile and video it will always pushes out the max quality which kills the download speed.

    Everytime I want to use my Dstv app to watch a show. I actually have to delete my app reinstall it then resign in then I can literally only watch one show. Then I have to repeat the hole process why is this happening? I never had this problem just all of a sudden in the last week this is happening and it is quite frustrating. Can you please assist me cause I actually did like the app

    I lived my whole life in Nigeria and recently just moved to the US and I want to keep watching the Nigerian shows I usually watch and also the Bollywood shows on Zee world. Now that being said I tried to sign up so I could continue watching my beloved shows, instead of me chilling right now and watching Zee world, I find out that it’s not available for people outside of Africa and that is extremely heartbreaking and disappointing

    I love being able to watch while on the go, but considering I pay quite a lot of money for my DStv subscription, why am I forced to watch TWO adverts for catch-up titles??!! And there is no way to disable this. No other service show ads to paying subscribers.

    Why don’t I have the remote recording button on my app. I used to have in the past but now I don’t. I tried deleting app and its data, logging in again, etc but it does not appear. I am losing money paying access fee as this is one feature I need. Advice. For this and a crappy customer care, I give a two.

    US residents are not able to subscribe to DSTV due to broadcasting rights not available outside of Africa. It’s really disappointing because I, for one truly enjoy African programming and sure there’s plenty more according to the reviews that feel the same way. So with that in mind, I have a question. The US Market could bring more revenue to you guys if expanded to more countries/continents. Knowing the broadcasting rights are an issue, how would your company go about getting those broadcasting rights outside of Africa to allow people like myself to subscribe? Thank you and hopefully you guys would consider expanding in the near future.
