As much as I like Dropbox, I constantly have issues with moving pics between files. If I select files to move 99% of the time it takes me more than 5 minutes to do so, especially if it's several files. For years I've been getting "cannot transfer now, cannot connect to the Internet"....I'm NOT offline! I've waited a couple of years for a fix, but it has never come. I'm always afraid I'm going to lose some pics because I think they've transferred and they haven't. Time to look for another option

Great! But...
Ok, so first off, I want to let the devs know that they did an amazing job making this app. It has a simple design, looks great, and is very user-friendly. One thing is that Google Drive offers 15GB for free, while I think Dropbox only offers 2GB. Maybe for the free version, upgrade that a little bit. Anyway, I mainly use Dropbox over any other service, because I believe it's better, but I might have to switch to Google Drive for more free storage. The one thing that I would add to it, is shortcuts. For example, if I could have all my files in one big folder, and them scatter them across different folders using shortcuts to the same file, in the big folder. I use Dropbox to keep my music MP3's, but I can't have them in different floders without copying and pasting, which would take up twice the storage. I would have multiple folders, and ,for example, have my song in one folder, and another, without doubling the storage. I would want them both to point to the MP3 in the big folder with all my files, that I mentioned before. I would love to have this tool, and I'm sure a ton of others would. This would definitely bring you over the top better than the other cloud storage providers. Thank you for making an awesome program for us to use! -
Great App but very unstable after update
I’m having the same issue as Dudebraj9000. I have an iPhone 8 and have been using Dropbox for years. I agree that the updates have had no added value other than adding additional steps. When I’m uploading photos, I can no longer scroll down to see which photos are uploading. It jumps back to the top. Also, when I go to a photo album from Dropbox to upload photos, it will jump to photos from 2017 or 2018 unless I scroll real slow. Also, if I “move” photos from one folder to another, it now leaves me at the folder the photos got moved to instead of the folder I was working on... really annoying. I believe that if I “copy” photos from one folder to another, it will put me back to the folder I was working on, which is the way it has always been. Lastly, I had disconnected any auto uploads or syncing to Dropbox from the start, yet there is an album again called Dropbox with photos sitting in it... some very old photos. So I don’t know if those photos were uploaded or not. I have never auto synced my photos with Dropbox because I like having control of it. I gave you 5 stars because I use Dropbox every day and I trust that you will fix these issues. Overall, it has been fantastic, but more so in the older versions. -
Horrible Background Battery Usage
I really love the app and it gives me the ability to share my files between my iPad and my desktop computer easily. I originially got Dropbox because Google Drive was draining my battery by constantly running in the background. Well, my battery has been draining again over time by almost 30% or more at times. I checked my battery usage and Dropbox was running in the background for 7 hours straight. Why? I looked up the issue, and someone mentioned the only way to fix it was to disable it in the File app on my device, but I don’t want to do that, because sometimes I do need to access things from that app, or move things that way. I understand that it checks the folder in Files and makes sure everything is synced to the actual Dropbox app, but 7 hours? There’s also an issue where if I upload items to Dropbox within the app, if I close the app, it stops uploading. I have to have the app open for it to finish uploading. I’ve never had to deal with that before. Not sure if these are Apple issues or Dropbox issues. I hope there’s another fix for it though, because I shouldn’t be going to sleep with my iPad at 100% and waking up to it already down to 70%. I guess I will do the temporary fix in files for now, unless I find another cloud service that doesn’t drain my battery all day. -
Good features, horrible customer service
I’ve used Dropbox for years with no issues, although it is overpriced and their peculiar insistence on landing you on “Recents” rather than “My Files” is annoying. However, if you must purchase Dropbox, do it on their site and not via the App Store. Here’s why: They sent me a note saying my payment method (Apple) was invalid and I had to “update” my payment method with Apple or lose my paid features on May 31st. Spoke with tech support via chat and confirmed that my payment info is up to date, and that it has successfully gone through for ApplePay, dozens of other apps, and a couple of streaming services. He escalated me to someone who days later sent me a boilerplate email that showed he hadn’t read anything from the previous conversation. I replied, explaining again. No answer. I wrote back asking for an ETA on a response, as May 31 was fast approaching. No answer. Then on May *29* — two days before the supposed deadline — I got an email saying “Your account has been downgraded.” Finally managed to resubscribe by severing my payment within Apple and purchasing on their site (although now I wish I hadn’t). And *still* no response from customer service.

a very impressive app which is extremely good . And that's the only reason as to why I gave this incredible app a 5 star rating. The credit goes to the entire staff of the tech /team unit for developing such a wonderful app. I've 1 important suggestion though to further simplify it instead of complicating things...So please IMPROVISE & make sure that the subscription fee for Security of the file in Dropbox is not very expensive.....

I have used all cloud services available due to working online other than drop box bc I've always had office and utilize One Drive. Recently I was offered a free trial so I went for it. Glad I did, I kept it after the trial bc it syncs better and quicker (immediately) than any cloud service I've ever tried. It's my new go to and favorite to use.

Scary! Shared link - My recipient has access to my Dropbox account
Hi. I have been using Dropbox for many years now. And it’s in my top three apps of about 200 apps in my iPhone. I will still “after this incident” give 5*. But something SCARY happened to me today. It goes like this..... Today I sent five links to one of my clients. I sent the links via outlook app on iphone 11 pro. After few hours my client called me back and said "I can see ALL your folders in your DropBox Account". I went to my account shared tab, so I may delete those links. Suprisingly those links are not in the shared link list. Then I went to the security tab in settings and I changed my password. Then I logged out from dropbox in my phone, and sent an email with shared links to myself. When I click the links I received, they automatically open my dropbox, though I'm signed out. To confirm that I launched my dropbox app but it asks me to login. Finally. I took down ALL my files and transferred them to my iCloudrive . My Dropbox account is empty now! Anyway. I think this is a big security issue. For now, can some one help me to expire the liniks which I sent to my client. Or is there a way to recall an email that I sent fifteen hours ago. outlook app for iphone. please help. thanks -
Stop changing stuff!
Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.

Great app except...
Overall this is a great app. It allows you to categorize your files just like on a computer with folders and sub-folders, etc. It is relatively easy to move files around from your ipad or phone, send them to another app to markup, and upload. The main problem I have with this app is the buttons at the bottom of the page when you are viewing a document. They have recently added a big blue button right in the middle at the bottom that says OPEN. The grid and magnifying glass buttons to the left of that were bad enough but now I have to try and read around the big OPEN button as well. I use Dropbox a lot for quizzing myself and I’ll save questions/answers and scroll through them, answering them in my head as I go. The buttons get in the way of reading my questions because scrolling too much will show me the answer. These buttons need to be added into the top banner or lower banner and not on their own. It would make this a 5 star app for me! -
One last thing
I’m really happy u added a Dark version to it, now I’m not straining my eyes with all the white, I never liked bright things, but to get to the point, there’s one last thing I would love for u to add to the app. I download audio files on Dropbox and I use it to listen to it when ever my WiFi decided to cut out for a few hours (ya it does that I’ve been trying to get it fixed) now it plays the files just fine, but whenever the song ends, it doesn’t go to the next one, so I have to stop whatever I’m doing, go the the app, and either replay the same song or just find a new one to listen too. And I don’t like being stopped in the middle of drawing or doing work. Is there a way u could add a media player or something? Like when u play a music or video file it just goes or opens up the media player? Plz if u can do it I’ll be very great full, I'd definitely have less distractions when I do my work. -
Liked it at first, but even after getting the subscription it won't let me properly download files. I want to download my stuff to my device and be able to reach said stuff from my files manager on my phone. Not only from dropbox. Edit: Changed it to 4 stars because someone from dropbox tried to help me. The way he/she explained it will probably work on other devices. But mine won't show the options as the developer described it. I'm using a oneplus 6.

Great app. Been using it for more than 10 years. Only issue I have is the base pricing of the premium subscription. It costs more than 5 times of Google One. 11$ per month is just too much and I don't have a requirement of 2TB storage. 100 GB at 1$ would be great.

Now that it’s fixed, it works well.
A few days after leaving this review with a one star rating the issue was fixed. When this app is working it’s quite good. This app was great until a few weeks ago when an update removed the ability to close a file and have the entire screen be for the titles of files. As it is now, the only way one can view titles of files that are more than seven characters or so is to start the process of moving a file which then gives a screen that shows the titles. I pay annually for Dropbox and thus have another 9 months before it will be financially feasible to switch services, but if you have not already paid for Dropbox, I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PAY FOR THIS app. At least until such time as they correct this issue. It is practically unusable as is.

So much potential, very buggy
I’ve been using this app daily for work, for over a year now. Every single time I create a folder and select upload photos, I will be scrolling on my camera roll and it if I’m not actively clicking photos right off the bat, it freezes and jumps to the start of my camera roll (I have 20k photos in my camera roll, going back to 2017). The only way to avoid this is by clicking upload photos, and immediately start rapidly tapping random photos until it unfreezes. I have always updated the app, and it’s done this on more than one iPhone. Still happening on my 12 Pro. 2nd issue that just started happening: I name every folder by date. Suddenly almost all my folders are out of order. They randomly just start not being organized by date as I scroll down. I make sure to select “sort by date modified” and it does nothing. No matter what I sort by, nothing changes in the order. It’s becoming very frustrating as I rely on this app for work. I’m confused by all the positive reviews because my experience has been this for several months now. -
The entire service is great. The app however is clunky sometimes. I use Dropbox as a storage for my documents I make in school. The pricing is so expensive and actually, I don't want to pay for 2TB of storage if I will only consume 50GB of it. I hope there are more small and flexible plans, like 50GB, 100GB, 200GB, or 500GB subscription plans. For now, I will stay on the free version and use another cloud storage provider with a small and flexible plan to store other files I have.
