  • Love this game! Sep 15, 2020

    By ghjcfjjjcd
I haven’t been playing this game for very long but I’ve played games that are similar before. I’ve always had to delete them after a little while because the introductions don’t completely explain what all of the buttons do. This game was clear about how to play and wasn’t complicated to understand. I’m loving the storyline and all of the beautiful dress designs. There was clearly a lot of effort put into the design of the game. I loved that I was able to make my character look more like myself. With most games you can’t and with the ones where you can it costs money or gems to get some items and makes it impossible to change much of your character. I do wish that it didn’t take five minutes to get one stamina. It takes a long time to do just about anything and right when I get really invested in the game I run out. It would be really helpful if you could watch videos to get stamina or to boost the speed that it recharges. Other than that I’m really enjoying the game and I can’t wait to continue playing!

This is absolutely my favorite game, and I play it every day. I do have one complaint, though. When I go through Gotham Memoirs stage 1-6, it does not allow me to make any decisions that let me go down the other path to 1-12. I'm not sure if this is a recurring issue or not, but it's just my experience. Other than that, there are no glitches or issues I've had, and highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet.

  • Cute and interesting, but the crafting... Sep 21, 2020

    By Stacv
This game is nice. The artwork is pretty (not a huge fan of the female “Disney”-style 3D faces, but it’s not a dealbreaker) and the stories are interesting. Queen Marie is the story you start with. When you get a perfect score on a stage, you get points to exchange for another storybook. Unfortunately, I think I’m going to be on Queen Marie for a whileee. The first stages are easy, but it becomes extremely hard to score “perfect”s on Chapter 2. You need to craft new clothes, but crafting takes FOREVER. There are so many materials required for just one item (ex. 50 leather, 20 pearls, etc). If you’re lucky, you get about 2 of these materials a day from random encounters (uses stamina), cat exploration rewards, or gifts from companions. The shop might have them, but it’s random and only contains a limited amount of items until it refreshes (costs diamonds to speed it up). This makes it very difficult to craft the items you need. I get it - they want to make money by selling material packs, but it doesn’t seem worth it tbh. It would be nice if the shop just presented all items at once and the player can decide what they want to buy and how much to spend. There’s enough chance involved in random encounters and gifts- the shop doesn’t need that. If the shop and crafting are balanced out (and maybe a better incentive to spend money like Love Nikki’s V levels), it would be 5-stars for sure :)

Absolutely amazing!! Only complaint, its hard to progress without spending money. Brought here from the ad, and I am shocked by how good this game is. The graphics are stunning. Like, absolutely mind blowing for a mobile game. It's a large install, buf definitely worth the beautiful movement of the dresses and the characters. It truely brings life to the game. The dresses are gorgeous, I thank who ever made the dresses and the animation. The story even is interesting.

  • Terrible Crafting System, Fun Story Sep 9, 2020

    By GeekyNixie
It’s a nice game for the most part, but the crafting system leaves a lot to be desired. Basically, it’s one of those games that makes you wait to get things done unless you buy and waste a lot of their special currency for real money. That alone is pretty normal, but the availability of materials is inconsistent too- you have to catch when and where the materials are temporarily for limited quantity sale and won’t be able to advance in the levels without amassing increasingly large stockpiles of them. So there’s very little to do once you hit a wall with the crafting. Yes subsystems/minigames exist, but they aren’t fun and don’t really do much. But, a huge positive: the story is fun and the animation isn’t bad. The interactive element is not just a ploy used in advertising- the story can go multiple ways and you can go back later to explore the other paths that were available. You can even send gifts to the characters in whatever story you’re playing through. Except when they’re “busy,” which might be exactly when you need to give them gifts to unlock a level. The clothes are pretty, even if crafting them takes a lot of patience. If it weren’t for the irritating crafting system and ease with which all the fun grinds to a tedious halt, I think I would very much like it.

Graphics & story are great, but you can barely play. You need specific outfits and companion levels to keep reading. Each clothing piece requires mats you can only buy if the shop carries them that hour, AND other outfit pieces. The companion gifts need to be crafted and have the same problem. Diamonds are needed for blueprints but you get almost none for free, so paywall. I'm going to play until I finish Marie's storyline and then exit, and it's probably going to take a month to read 1 chapter.

  • Pay to Win / Broken Crafting System Sep 12, 2020

    By A. Moondust
This is one of those games that you log into once a day and spend 5-10 minutes playing before you get stuck (run out of free things to do) and then close it until the next day. You definitely have to pay a lot of real money to get the items you need to craft clothes & accessories in order to be able to pass the different levels of the story. I calculated it would cost me about $100 to get the materials I need to craft the dress, shoes and hair accessory I need to pass level 2.2 with a perfect score. And that is just 1 level!!! Not a fair comparison I know...but, Animal Crossing New Horizons for Switch didn’t cost me anywhere near that much money and I have been playing that daily for hours. And it has never asked me to pay more money to progress or when new things are available. I don’t mind spending money on complete games. I have spent a lot of money on switch and PC games. They are complete games that allow you to obtain everything you need through exploration and quest completion. There are two good things about this game. 1. The story. It is very well done. Kudos on the great story! 2. The textures and movement of the fabrics. Excellent job!

  • Crashes :( Sep 12, 2020

    By Mooky:3
Cannot proceed after chapter 2-4 of “Queen Marie”. Game crashes just prior to the end of this stage, every time. Also, after a few hours of initial fun, it becomes almost impossible to move forward because the volume of rewards is not enough to allow for crafting necessary items to progress. You’re left with the choice of committing to a long term relationship which costs around $20 a day to have any significant progress, to log in every day patiently, collecting items very slowly, and process the story by one small step maybe once a week, or just quit the game entirely. The choice has now been made for me with the uncontrollable crash that happens at stage 2-4. I’m disappointed because if it weren’t for these issues, I’d say it were my favorite game I’ve encountered on mobile for the aesthetics and the story, alone.

I’m deeply sad because it was such a beautiful game. But all the extras were just too much. I hope there’s a remake. Such interesting historical and art references too. Loved it at first but fizzled out. Please stop trying to force consumers to spend money. Even with that, I wouldn’t mind putting up some money for it if it was worth it but you end up needing to buy more when the dress you need to craft requires 20-50 times of most items! Pls do better.

  • Great Game For A Day Oct 11, 2020

This game has beautiful gowns and 3D designs with intriguing storylines to play...but the thing is, you can’t go far in the storylines they advertise because it’s impossible to advance without investing actual money into the game. The materials you obtain daily from the game aren’t nearly enough to craft what you need to progress in the story. Therefore you’re left waiting weeks in order to collect enough materials to craft what’s needed. I’m giving it two stars for the design and intriguing stories but since I can’t go far in the story or game itself, sadly it’ll only last a week before being deleted.

Fun and interesting! Love the accessories, love the storylines! This is a fantastic choice and dress up game. The avatars are so customizable, graphics and music are beautiful, and the characters are fabulous. If you guys ever put together an OST for this game, I would totally buy it. Please do more stories soon, I LOVE reading them! As far as I'm concerned, 5 stars is not enough for just how awesome this game is.

I was pleasantly surprised how complex yet organized this game was, and how well it maps out historical tidbits in the "log." I was expecting another game whose ad was nothing like the real experience, and I am so glad I was wrong. The appearance is a bit overwhelming at first as a newbie, but I got used to it quickly. The one thing I wish is that the loading screens didn't go so fast... yes it means I get back to the story quickly, but the illustrations are so beautiful and I want to read them!

  • It can use improvement Sep 21, 2020

I’ve often played like games like this before and usually they don’t last long. Usually because of horrible story lines but this one is so awesome! I have to give y’all kudos, these stories are so fun! The outfits are appealing and the UE design is appealing as well. Kahir’s skin on the other hand make him look just a little sickly. Perhaps the skin itself was too small for his UV’s and they got blown up just a little or the opposite. His eyes haunt me too. The craft system is excellent in theory but the materials are so hard to come by naturally and to use them is making me reluctant since some of them cause you to stockpile them just to create a single item. The encounters are a good way to come across them but only getting one or perhaps two item per encounter at the expense of stamina requires some saintly patience especially when you hit a wall with required items. Then it’s a really long waiting game. Especially with the endless cycle of resetting the board of who is there with cash, run out of stamina out in perhaps five to six encounters and come out with barely a quarter of the craft items excluding the items used to make gifts. One hellish waiting game. The cats are helpful, but add to the turmoil.

  • Really impressed Oct 11, 2020

Edit: The devs made some perplexing updates that have made the game go from 5 to 4 stars for me. They made an in game chat that scrolls in the main Home Screen so you have to see it. There is no way to turn it off. Very distracting. You just see people calling each other bigots and bullying each other constantly. Why they thought the majority of the player base would want to see this I don’t know. I’ve seen countless complaints but there has been no adjustment to hide it. They also made one part of the game grindier (Companions). Not that big of a deal, but again an odd choice. I am a long time player of Love Nikki so I was very excited to get into this. So far it has exceeded my expectations. It really builds on the frame work of similar games but improves on some aspects that have given people trouble. The 3D style makes the story seem so much more real. The clothes are gorgeous and aren’t just recopied assets of the same dress 5 times like some games do. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE ALL DIAMONDS FOR BLUEPRINTS.

Enjoying the game, specially the mix of dress-up and history/culture. It's pretty easy the play a lot per day without needing to resort to pay-per-play. The chat feature is a bit annoying and needs a disable toggle, and their isn't a lot of optimisation for grinding (can't skip dialog, repeating chapters gives no rewards, can't craft multiples, can't filter friends' items). But it's a lot of fun and very addictive.

I've actually been really enjoying this app, its one of the few I have stuck with. I do find it disheartening tho when I borrow clothes and try to get a perfect score and only got great. I had borrowed a hair and hat piece for the same tags but they were incompatible. (I didnt realise which sucked) i went back to swap items and see if I got a better score. I didnt and went to retry again and the items were all gone. My suggestion, don't remove borrowed items till that chapter it complete.

  • Fun Game, Very Frustrating Sep 6, 2020

    By AgentKK00
The story part of the game is very fun, and I enjoy getting to dress up my character without having to be in the story at all times. It’s very reminiscent of Love Nikki, if you’ve ever heard of that game. However, what I don’t like about this game is the wait for materials. Either you watch the store like a hawk, waiting for the refreshed stock that has no guarantee of being what you need for the next stage, or you endlessly try to do side quests to get materials you also don’t need. Days turn to weeks, and still, I have no luck finding cotton or leather. I have plenty of silk, though. Always with the silk... In Love Nikki, you need only collect outfits to create new clothes, which makes the process faster, albeit droning. In this game, you need materials and outfits for new pieces. It would be a refreshing gimmick if it didn’t waste so much of my time, sending me on an endless goose chase. I don’t mind creating gifts and getting close to companions to advance the story, but when you’re 43 leather away from the dress you need, and you haven’t been able to get any of it in days, you can see where things can be frustrating. Still, for a dress up game centered around story-telling, I do think it’s on the higher end of quality. Thus, I’m giving it 3 stars. I’m not dazzled, but I am pleased.

  • Beautiful and fun gameplay but... Sep 4, 2020

    By Anna Damico
I like the game play a lot, I think they did a good job of combining different elements that are fun and easy to understand- not to mention the costumes are beautiful! It’s also fun as a history nut seeing the historical aspect of the game, following Marie Antoinette at court through the famous necklace scandal. The main thing I take issue with is the presentation of the character “D’eon de Beaumont,” who in real life was a true transgender woman who was recognized as such by the royal court, not a “cross dresser” as they refer to her in the game. I understand this isn’t completely historically accurate, but I feel it’s disrespectful to the spirit of the real life person the character is based on and plays into the transphobic stereotype of trans women as “men in dresses.” It makes me very uncomfortable every time this character shows up and for that reason I can’t see myself playing this game for much longer.

I really love this game. The designs are lush and the story lines are actually interesting. I really like that you have multiple options for different outcomes. However, there's literally no way to move forward without paying a significant amount of money. I don't mind spending money on games I enjoy, but I can't drop $100 a month on a game just to get the dress I have to have to do the next level. Once you complete a level you can no longer obtain any coins or materials from it, making it really difficult to progress. Instead of the normal complaint from games that you have to spend tons of time grinding to get anywhere, here it's not even an option. I've really enjoyed it so far, but it's so frustrating having to wait days to progress that I probably won't play anymore.

At 1st, it is easy to win the game aka get the perfect scores and they give a lot of rewards. When u reach around level 17 things get harder and harder to get the perfect scores and u can not even continue the game if you can obtain “required item” it is stupid when the dress u have higher than the require dress but u still get lower score if you don’t have “require” dress aka they just want you to spend real money. Well if that the case charge the game the very beginning. I hate game nowadays free at 1st than make us pay a lot of money later on or you have to watch tons of ads.
