App is ok. Could use some work. It crashes frequently which messes me up for delivery time, and when you try to contact support they take a very long time to answer. They recently updated the ratings, it now shows how many ratings you've gotten from a 1-5 star. I got a three star and would like to know why and what I can do better but you can't see the review, just the rating. Not very happy about that!

I’ve been Dashing for 8 months and I really enjoy meeting new people on my deliveries. The app is fairly easy to start you out, but there are a lot of little things that you learn as you go. Contact numbers are provided if you require assistance. You have opportunities to sponsor new drivers to help them learn, and you’re rewarded generously when they complete a certain number of deliveries. I feel it’s very safe because all transactions are done on line...no cash with the driver, and your earnings go straight into your banking account once a week. If you prefer, you can opt to be paid daily, but there is a small fee for that. I use Google maps to assist in my deliveries, and there are a couple other map apps that are available to you. With the Covid virus-DD will provide you with free face masks, hand sanitizer, and sanitary gloves upon request, and you can do ‘No Contact Delivery’ so you and your customers stay as safe as possible. The best part about this job is that YOU chose when you want to work. If you have scheduled yourself to work, and then you can’t do it, you can delete that dash and you are NOT penalized for backing out. If you are in the middle of a scheduled dash, and need/want a break, you can PAUSE without having to explain to your boss, like you would at just about ANY other job. This flexibility they give you is WONDERFUL!

I like the extra $ and it’s a decent gig but I feel that door dash shouldn’t allow the customer to do a no tip. I get them quite often from the same customers and I’m always on time or earlier. Make sure they have extra sauces. Napkins. Etc and I’m always polite and still get nothing from it. Dashers drive their own personal cars to make sure the customer gets their food and we use our own gas to make it happen. 3$ a trip isn’t worth delivering to people ordering 40-60$ of food and we have to go the extra mile for nothing basically. I feel that door dash can implement something on if you order either a lot of food and or a high price amount then the customer is required to tip. Also regarding if a store is indefinitely closed. They should make it easier to know what button to click to say you can’t do the order and not be docked acceptance because it not being your fault. If you click stores closed it should prompt you to say is it closed or closed indefinitely and then take you to the proper area if it’s indefinitely. Other than that. I’ll continue to do this as a side gig because it’s not hard and easy $. Also I think door dash should do a rewards program on for every order you do you get points to get door dash merchandise to help with deliveries either it be better bags. Drink holders. Shirts. Etc. Would boost people to push for helpful items and or personal merchandise.

There are a lot of things I like about DoorDash. The opportunity, convenience, & ability to serve & help others who can’t get for themselves. But...From my very first order it seems I was set up for failure. Being sent to restaurants that often were as much as 10 min behind on an order being ready. More than half of those instances I was late delivering as I walked out of the restaurant or soon after. This is especially the case with double orders. Which means from the start I’ve had a low “on time” score. Not ok. Your algorithm for this stinks. Next. If a customer cancels an order after I accept it, or the restaurant cancels for some reason, it most definitely should NOT count as an incomplete on my score. Yet this is happening. Lastly. I’ve seen a lot of young dashers with friends and/or significant others in the car as company to hang out with while they dash. I’ve even had restaurant owners say something to me. I was under the impression this was frowned upon for safety reasons. But especially now..dashers should be warned against doing this since it violates the 6ft rule and puts your customers at risk. I’ve had quite a few restaurants in my area tell me this is a concern. These things above make those of us trying hard to do a good job look bad. As for the rest. The app is great. It’s an awesome opportunity. You asked for my opinion though so I’m being honest. I haven’t had a bad review on my service yet.

Works well enough to get delivery requests, but there is ZERO support from Doordash when various parts of the app are broken or not functioning as Doordash promises. I wrote this review on the day DD announced an update to the Dasher ratings interface, expecting that maybe my complaints of inaccurate and non-updating Ratings would finally be fixed. Ha! Of course not. You would think after making more than 950 deliveries in the past 6-months, I wouldn't be so naive to believe DD's continued BS.

  • Honestly, it depends where you live Dec 7, 2019

Okay, I’ll start off by saying, this app can either be so great you can do it full time, or the opposite. Obviously, like UberEats and other driving services, if you don’t live in a populated area you can’t do it. Not that well anyways. But if you happen to live somewhere where the app is popular and you can get a lot of orders, believe me when I say you can make $1000+ a week if you are dedicated to it every week. No, I don’t think you should replace your full time job with it if you have a decent job. However, if you’re 18-21 years old working fast food making minimum wage, this app is the way to go. It has its flaws, but overall I’ve had a great experience with it. Customer support is a bit touchy as their English isn’t great and they’re hard to reach sometimes, but don’t listen to people who say they’re garbage. I would give this app 10/5 stars if I could. I’m considering replacing my pizza delivery job with this. I average $16-$20/ hour and I only work 4-8 hours a day. You can work whenever you want, stop whenever you want, you are your own boss, and you can basically just listen to music and vibe all day. This app is great

Wish we could use a filter option to set certain mileage and restaurants that we wish to work with, some restaurants makes you wait 30+ minutes especially if you get 2 orders from the same restaurant at the same time, and most of the time you get offered ridiculously low pay for long miles and apartments full of trampolines and vague instructions to find the door, so you wait until the time run out if you don't want to accept the order and not decline it as it takes away your compilation rate.

Making easy money for sure, but I wish there was a way in the settings as to how far you are willing to deliver. I've delivered in the city for less than $6 several times that was a 45min drive for me one way. It's not like I can refuse it, since it'll bring down my rating. Also, with how the weather is in Central America (7/14/21), we are in the middle of a freaking BLIZZARD! Yall have people on the road that are dangerous! A peak pay should be beyond $15+ and tip... if that!

  • My Experiences as a Doordash Driver Sep 11, 2020

    By Conscientious Driver
While dashing I hate it when I see “you missed an opportunity”. I tell myself, how could I have missed when it’s not even offered to me. Sometimes these “you missed an opportunity” shows in succession, like three in a row in a matter of seconds. Does Doordash intentionally do that? I am an optimistic person so when I see “you missed an opportunity” I just smile and tell myself “here we go again, there goes my acceptance rate, it’s going to go down now. I work very hard and I’m dedicated to my job so I always try my best to satisfy my employer and my customers all the time. I have been dashing for three months now, I haven’t declined an offer yet, I always accept whatever I’m offered. Sometimes though, there are offers that I had to pick up from about 11 miles away then deliver it way to the end of town, about another 15 miles. I just tell myself, it’s a normal part of the job so I don’t complain at all. I must commend the “Doordash Support Team”, they’re always there for me. Every time I get into a situation where I needed their assistance, they’re there and always are willing to help. One time though, I had to wait almost 20 minutes before someone offered to help me. The majority of the time, there’s someone within three minutes.

I must say this helped me through hard times. All in all, it's wonderful app. But, one thing I'd like to share is that i am deaf myself. It would be nice if the customers is informed that i am deaf and to text instead of calling. Because sometimems i delivered to the complex apartments where the residents have to buzz you in and i cant hear, so it forces me to text the customers informing them that i am deaf and cannot hear the buzzer. Hope it help give a better feedback for the deaf community

  • Not sure how to title this....nor rate at this time Nov 4, 2020

    By Mrs. Davegm72
Very frustrated & disappointed to wake up this morning & find my account deactivated stating I have committed referral fraud in which have absolutely no clue in how I could have possibly done this. I have only sent out a referral email & one on Facebook each once to my personal email contacts & FB personal friends/acquaintances thru DoorDash link provided in this specific app... how does that go against the rules? I have put in my appeal along with then sent an email back once receiving an email stating that they received my appeal & that I could respond to that specific email & once I did that I got a “delivery failure”stating I may not be in that group allowed to post in or the group was removed... I do not feel I have done anything against any rules/wrong whatsoever & have only done 2 days worth of deliveries & just got a bit more comfortable & was getting more excited to the opportunity to make the extra much need funds. I’m just a simple single mother trying to make ends meet not anything by no means excessive or wrong but was looking forward to for example the $20 bonus challenge given only needed 4 more deliveries to achieve it & had 2 days to achieve & if I can’t get reactivated in time I am going to lose out over something I don’t feel was my fault. Not to mention feel embarrassed for it being considered fraud....that’s an awful strong accusation...

The map is in dark mode all the time even if it's off on my phone and I can't read it and it will glitch out when I'm trying to finish a dash and tell me " something went wrong" but stay on the same page even if I close it out and I've even tried Uninstalling a few times the 1st time it worked but I wasn't getting txts saying the orders were ready and today when I did it the app won't even load to the login.

As a current driver, I have noticed several things about Doordash. One in particular, I picked up an order, drove 16 miles to drop off the delivery. The customer did not provide me with a current address but was fixed. The delivery was made, but Doordash wouldn't allow me to close the order. Support was of no help and only paid me for arriving, $2! The merchant had me sign a pick-up form of the order and with a GPS on the app, that is enough proof that I made the delivery even with traffic.

I used to do really well, but I have noticed recently people are not tipping and most of the orders we get are walmart!! I dont have a vehicle for Walmart and I shouldn't be penalized in my ratings for this! Also the new zoning rules make it extremely difficult to dash since we can deliver outside the zone and are required to drive back and miss orders if you far! More research needs to go into the process for dashers!

  • So tired of wasting gas trying to make it to "busy" areas Mar 14, 2020

    By kbukata
I HATE the way this app is designed. You have two options if you want to make money: schedule a time slot in advance, or keep the app open and wait for a zoned area to become "busy." The problem with this is that a) the app is over saturated with employees who take all the time slots even if they don't actually intend to work, or b) you can't start working in a certain area until you drive there and most of the time by the time you get to that area, all the available work has been taken. But the app doesn't refresh quickly enough to tell you this ahead of time so you end up driving across town wasting all that gas just to find out you're too late. This system is awful compared to apps like Postmates, which allows you to go online wherever you're located and it assigns deliveries to you near your location. Also, on several occasions Ive been dashing in a certain area but have to deliver an order outside of that "zone," and after I finished the delivery, the app automatically ended my dash without my knowledge because I left the zone. At which point I had to drive all the way back to that zone to try and reschedule my dash...but multiple times it's too late and I can't continue working because the available slots have filled up. It's horrible and unfair and a waste of time.

The dasher app does what it absolutely must do for a dasher to do their job, but it’s glitchy. The mapping system recommends going the wrong way down one way streets and to drive on the wrong side of a divided street. It’s frozen several times during deliveries, which forces me to restart my phone to reset the app. It’s also gotten stuck in a loop of asking me to verify the age of a customer who was receiving some alcohol. I would enter the information and press submit, then it would ask me to verify the age again. Any time the app freezes or loops, you have to call a help center to get the delivery status force changed. But, the option to call that center is not given in app. I had to find the phone number online and then save it my phone book for future issues. Every time something like this happens, it wastes your time and delays getting another delivery request. Lately, it’s also been having trouble recognizing when you’re near a pickup point. Thankfully, the programmers thought about that one and made possible for the dasher to change status to pickup even if the app doesn’t recognize that you have arrived at the merchant location. There are some other problems, but this covers the ones I’ve been getting most frequently. For my money though, it’s still better than driving people around. I won’t mention any company names.

I have been driving for DoorDash for about 2 months and done 130 deliveries. It’s constant work usually while you are dashing. I have NEVER been able to schedule a PROMO Dash meaning in the app you can schedule a dash that gives you $1-$4 extra per delivery. They always say if it doesn’t let you sign in then all the slots are taken. I have seen these time slots posted at 2am and tried to get one then and it still said it was unavailable. Does that mean that other people were up at 2am or right at posting of the promo to snatch those up. I’ve also been dashing, received an order, checked in at the restaurant where the merchant said the order is about done. I would check back after 5-8 mins of waiting and they said the order actually was just received and was just not getting started. Drivers are getting sent to the merchant the same time the delivery is getting submitted and not when the food is ready. So you wasting your time sitting at the restaurant waiting for food. We are delivery drivers not delivery waiters. It’s not always been bad but lately the app crashes and sometimes orders don’t come through on your end and then you get dinged for not accepting the order and then benefits get taken away. I’ve dashed for 3 hours and made $22 and I’ve dashes for 1.5 hours and made $25. You win some, you lose some.

  • Dasher support is awful. Scheduling feedback Jul 4, 2020

    By Alfunions
First of all, Dasher support is atrocious. 9/10 times they don't actually help us because they don't listen or there's a language barrier. They don't understand how the app works. They lack basic customer service skills and only frustrate us more. Second, why is it that I couldn't reset my claimed time to have an hour less? I scheduled myself earlier in the week for 10am - 8:30pm today. Since last night, I have been trying to change it to 11am - 8:30pm but it will not allow me despite already having that time claimed. I wanted to give up an hour, not get more hours. I should be allowed to do that even if "the time slot is no longer available" because I was already apart of that time slot. It doesn't make sense. I understand that no one else can schedule at that time for more hours but I should be allowed to take time off of my schedule since it's already claimed. It's not like this hour is even worth dashing in (10am-11am). Finally, the text service is ridiculous. I am bombarded with texts for absolutely every order when I already get a notification from the app itself. As drivers, this text system is distracting and over done. I wish we could opt out of order texts and just received the rest without opting out of texts completely. We need to be able to communicate with our customers but don't need your text service distracting us while we drive. I received 30 texts in 2 hours yesterday. That's nuts.
