  • Fun but app could be a bit better for dashers Mar 11, 2020

    By Minerguy1987
I like the extra $ and it’s a decent gig but I feel that door dash shouldn’t allow the customer to do a no tip. I get them quite often from the same customers and I’m always on time or earlier. Make sure they have extra sauces. Napkins. Etc and I’m always polite and still get nothing from it. Dashers drive their own personal cars to make sure the customer gets their food and we use our own gas to make it happen. 3$ a trip isn’t worth delivering to people ordering 40-60$ of food and we have to go the extra mile for nothing basically. I feel that door dash can implement something on if you order either a lot of food and or a high price amount then the customer is required to tip. Also regarding if a store is indefinitely closed. They should make it easier to know what button to click to say you can’t do the order and not be docked acceptance because it not being your fault. If you click stores closed it should prompt you to say is it closed or closed indefinitely and then take you to the proper area if it’s indefinitely. Other than that. I’ll continue to do this as a side gig because it’s not hard and easy $. Also I think door dash should do a rewards program on for every order you do you get points to get door dash merchandise to help with deliveries either it be better bags. Drink holders. Shirts. Etc. Would boost people to push for helpful items and or personal merchandise.

This app has many bugs. everytime I try to complete a delivery by taking a photo it crashes every single time on the first chance after it boots back up it lets me do it. Then out of nowhere it pauses my dashes for no bugs like this tend to mess up my times. I will also get a message saying that I am not at the right location when I really am. Please fix this.

There are a lot of things I like about DoorDash. The opportunity, convenience, & ability to serve & help others who can’t get for themselves. But...From my very first order it seems I was set up for failure. Being sent to restaurants that often were as much as 10 min behind on an order being ready. More than half of those instances I was late delivering as I walked out of the restaurant or soon after. This is especially the case with double orders. Which means from the start I’ve had a low “on time” score. Not ok. Your algorithm for this stinks. Next. If a customer cancels an order after I accept it, or the restaurant cancels for some reason, it most definitely should NOT count as an incomplete on my score. Yet this is happening. Lastly. I’ve seen a lot of young dashers with friends and/or significant others in the car as company to hang out with while they dash. I’ve even had restaurant owners say something to me. I was under the impression this was frowned upon for safety reasons. But especially now..dashers should be warned against doing this since it violates the 6ft rule and puts your customers at risk. I’ve had quite a few restaurants in my area tell me this is a concern. These things above make those of us trying hard to do a good job look bad. As for the rest. The app is great. It’s an awesome opportunity. You asked for my opinion though so I’m being honest. I haven’t had a bad review on my service yet.

I've been dashing for about 2 months now and im loving it! I haven't had any problems with the app, I love the dasher support on demand feature, and accept/complete deliveries with ease. If ANYTHING, I would only request making a better built in navigation system and a built in chat to the customer instead of going to text message (Like UberEATS). Other than that, I have no complaints.

The font size is so small it makes it very hard to glance at when trying to drive. Making stopping more frequent and losing time. Doesn't sync well with maps so you have to switch between apps before being able to go through the next 3 or 4 steps to finally navigate towards the actual delivery. Each order has so much information for a simple job, it's frustrating to read.

  • Dasher support is awful. Scheduling feedback Jul 4, 2020

    By Alfunions
First of all, Dasher support is atrocious. 9/10 times they don't actually help us because they don't listen or there's a language barrier. They don't understand how the app works. They lack basic customer service skills and only frustrate us more. Second, why is it that I couldn't reset my claimed time to have an hour less? I scheduled myself earlier in the week for 10am - 8:30pm today. Since last night, I have been trying to change it to 11am - 8:30pm but it will not allow me despite already having that time claimed. I wanted to give up an hour, not get more hours. I should be allowed to do that even if "the time slot is no longer available" because I was already apart of that time slot. It doesn't make sense. I understand that no one else can schedule at that time for more hours but I should be allowed to take time off of my schedule since it's already claimed. It's not like this hour is even worth dashing in (10am-11am). Finally, the text service is ridiculous. I am bombarded with texts for absolutely every order when I already get a notification from the app itself. As drivers, this text system is distracting and over done. I wish we could opt out of order texts and just received the rest without opting out of texts completely. We need to be able to communicate with our customers but don't need your text service distracting us while we drive. I received 30 texts in 2 hours yesterday. That's nuts.

I've asked other dashers if they experienced any problems with the map and majority of them were andriod users. Ive been calling my customers to give me directions and I shouldn't have to do that.

  • Honestly, it depends where you live Dec 7, 2019

    By jcaudld
Okay, I’ll start off by saying, this app can either be so great you can do it full time, or the opposite. Obviously, like UberEats and other driving services, if you don’t live in a populated area you can’t do it. Not that well anyways. But if you happen to live somewhere where the app is popular and you can get a lot of orders, believe me when I say you can make $1000+ a week if you are dedicated to it every week. No, I don’t think you should replace your full time job with it if you have a decent job. However, if you’re 18-21 years old working fast food making minimum wage, this app is the way to go. It has its flaws, but overall I’ve had a great experience with it. Customer support is a bit touchy as their English isn’t great and they’re hard to reach sometimes, but don’t listen to people who say they’re garbage. I would give this app 10/5 stars if I could. I’m considering replacing my pizza delivery job with this. I average $16-$20/ hour and I only work 4-8 hours a day. You can work whenever you want, stop whenever you want, you are your own boss, and you can basically just listen to music and vibe all day. This app is great

    By jajones12147
The other review of this app is so incredibly petty and inaccurate. I am a driver as well and I also use the app, some people don’t have enough to afford to tip and have no other option but delivery at any given time, I don’t understand why that person pretends to know everyone’s personal lives well enough to judge when they don’t tip. WE ARE NOT ENTITLED TO GRATUITY THATS WHY ITS CALLED THAT YOU MORON. Don’t complain about not getting one EVER, especially when the app automatically assumes you want to tip 20% of the order which is absolutely ridiculous. Nothing makes people want to tip you LESS than when you shove it in their face like it’s some customary part of the order. But then again, I’m sure people tip the automatic 20% because they feel PRESSURED BY THE APP because it chooses this for you and it makes people think “well if I don’t tip, then I won’t get good service”. That’s not how this work, do a good job and maybe you’ll get a few extra dollars. Other than that, quit whining living off tips when we all know that’s a lie.

I worked for other delivery services and I have the know how of how things work. It’s been a little overwhelming receiving texts telling me repeatedly the customer wants you to leave the order at the door when I can read the customer instructions and I signed up to do Myers park area earlier I sat there right near queens and east blvd but it would t change my position from uptown/nods to Myers park area so i wasn’t able to get any work I had to go to park road area to get it to switch so I did some unnecessary driving and wasted time trying to get an order I hung out in South Park area since it told me that’s another hot spot but I didn’t receive one order so a bit frustrated and my first day it didn’t give me an earlier end dash time it was 3:30 am I was on a route so I just went with that so I can go back to my delivery screen but please cut back on the texts unless it’s to notify me of changes don’t tell me go to so and so restaurant I see on the app where the call is sending me and reminding me to take a pic etc. sometimes the customer comes down to get order or opens the door upon arrival so I can’t take a photo. Please use these tool for the drivers that are new and need more guidance I got this ive done over 300 deliveries for postmates and instacart as well so I know how it works. Thank you

  • It works, but not reliably. May 22, 2019

    By flippity floppity flue
The dasher app does what it absolutely must do for a dasher to do their job, but it’s glitchy. The mapping system recommends going the wrong way down one way streets and to drive on the wrong side of a divided street. It’s frozen several times during deliveries, which forces me to restart my phone to reset the app. It’s also gotten stuck in a loop of asking me to verify the age of a customer who was receiving some alcohol. I would enter the information and press submit, then it would ask me to verify the age again. Any time the app freezes or loops, you have to call a help center to get the delivery status force changed. But, the option to call that center is not given in app. I had to find the phone number online and then save it my phone book for future issues. Every time something like this happens, it wastes your time and delays getting another delivery request. Lately, it’s also been having trouble recognizing when you’re near a pickup point. Thankfully, the programmers thought about that one and made possible for the dasher to change status to pickup even if the app doesn’t recognize that you have arrived at the merchant location. There are some other problems, but this covers the ones I’ve been getting most frequently. For my money though, it’s still better than driving people around. I won’t mention any company names.

Hey guys, how about increasing the font and number size so it's easier to see . There is plenty of room for this. And how about a night mode, it's very distracting to drive with too much light inside the car. If you could bring back the red background instead of the white, it would help alot. Bring the app into the 21st century.

  • So tired of wasting gas trying to make it to "busy" areas Mar 14, 2020

    By kbukata
I HATE the way this app is designed. You have two options if you want to make money: schedule a time slot in advance, or keep the app open and wait for a zoned area to become "busy." The problem with this is that a) the app is over saturated with employees who take all the time slots even if they don't actually intend to work, or b) you can't start working in a certain area until you drive there and most of the time by the time you get to that area, all the available work has been taken. But the app doesn't refresh quickly enough to tell you this ahead of time so you end up driving across town wasting all that gas just to find out you're too late. This system is awful compared to apps like Postmates, which allows you to go online wherever you're located and it assigns deliveries to you near your location. Also, on several occasions Ive been dashing in a certain area but have to deliver an order outside of that "zone," and after I finished the delivery, the app automatically ended my dash without my knowledge because I left the zone. At which point I had to drive all the way back to that zone to try and reschedule my dash...but multiple times it's too late and I can't continue working because the available slots have filled up. It's horrible and unfair and a waste of time.

    By andreagodinez
Don’t waste your time doing door door dash. The only one actually making money is the company. they overcharge customers and really underpay you compare to how much you spend on gas which here in the Bay Area it’s $4 per gallon , what you end up with is almost nothing . Even during peak it’s not worth it because they really under pay each order that you get so most of the time you aren’t even making minimum wage . Also a lot of times the restaurants can’t complete the order which means customer service cancels it And you only end up with half of the money that you were promised when you first accepted the order . Even if you sit and wait there for half an hour trying to contact customer service because each order you cancel looks bad on you even if it’s not your fault whatsoever . For instance yesterday I went into a pho place and they had me waiting before telling me they didn’t have the main entree and the customer wasn’t answering i literally just wasted half an hour between waiting and contacting support so they cancelled it and if they had offered you seven dollars now you only end up with 3.50 and by the time you got back to your car and get a new order a 45 min wait has gone by so that means you are getting $3.50 for almost an hour. If you simply deny the order when you see the wait time being so high you loose the extra pay they promise during lunch and dinner peak time . So nope this is a scam and waste of time don’t do it .

App worked okay for a month and now there are many errors. The application times out every time I have an order so it auto declines and messes up my numbers. Probably 75% of orders auto declined and it would try to put me on pause. I used to recommend this as an okay source of money but it is not due to poor upkeep of the application. Also today I drove around during peak times while a promotion was Going and I did not receive an order for 1.5 hours even though I traveled to 3 different hot spot
