    Overall, this app is amazing but it still has to work out some kinks. The price is great, especially to have the ad-free version. I was hoping it was the answer to cancelling another streaming service I subscribe to but this app doesn’t have the original 90 Day Fiancé show, just a streaming channel. Also, random episodes are missing on some shows, so I again have to revert to my other streaming service to watch there. The app freezes briefly on Roku TV after pausing or rewinding, and will skip over the part it freezes on. I’ve had no issues casting from my iPhone to my Vizio TV. I can still use my phone while it’s casting and there is no freezing or glitching. The functionality of the home screen needs some improvement organizationally and to provide the ability to delete episodes in “Continue Watching”. When it auto plays or I check out shows, I don’t necessarily want them to stay in “Continue Watching” because then I have to scroll through those to get to what I really want to continue watching. The catalog of shows is exceptional and I do love that some shows are unedited - very refreshing to be able to listen to people swear instead of hearing “beeep beeeep”. I would honestly pay more to have them remove the censorship bleeps from all shows (Gold Rush, I’m looking at you). I was sure I would cancel after the trial but I’ve stayed on as a subscriber because we now watch Discovery+ more than our other streaming services.

    There’s a lot of Discovery content, and a little History, to entertain for endless hours. There are some playback features and functions you might miss from other streaming services. 1. There’s no way to connect to Chromecast or another device on your TV until AFTER you start an episode. This means you have to buffer, load, and play the video on your phone before you can tell it to connect to a external device on your TV. It’s very annoying. 2. The streaming on your TV/Chromcast and the controls on the phone lose sync so you sometimes have to stop, reconnect and start again to change playback. You also my need to know the exact show and episode playing to click back into it to get the controls back. 3. My biggest annoyance is the app will not stop streaming on a Chromecast unless you manually stop it. There’s no “are you there” option to check in and save your data usage and stop streaming after a few episodes if the TV is shut off while still streaming. If you set the sleep timer on your TV while a show is playing it will play all night and all day until you turn the TV back on the next night…and it’s still streaming. Has happened to me several times. I like the service, but the app it’s lacking some of the refined user experience features that users expect from a streaming service day one. This was either rushed out and not extensively tested, or it was never extensively tested. Neither is really acceptable.

    Quin in customer service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I had an issue a few days ago where my app just stopped casting all of the sudden. I sent an email and received a response within a couple of hours and I was able to provide my information to the developers and within a couple of days even though it was a holiday weekend my issue was quickly fixed and now everything is perfect. Please pass on my gratitude to your developers for finding a speedy and effective solution to my problem.

    I love this app. I'm so incredibly happy with the selection of shows and networks. But I have a huge problem streaming anything to my smart TV. This app has a horrible system for streaming. It's almost impossible to pause/play your show while also browsing the app. I've found that I have to go back into the show I'm watching, click the exact episode I'm watching, and then the app with allow me to pause the show. I just wish there was a better way to control streaming while also using the app. Other big streaming apps have an interface that's on screen all the time while streaming to allow you to control your show as you browse the app. It would be huge if you guys added one too. Another problem I'm experiencing is the app not playing the episode at all, or with the sound only. The app will connect to my TV but won't load the episode or picture. The last problem I've experienced is sometimes the app will replay 5 to 10 minutes of my show over and over again. The only way to escape this seemingly never ending loop is to skip ahead past the repeated scene. Otherwise I love this app so much and I will continue to use it, especially if streaming becomes easier to use.

    I was initially irritated that people were being forced to get Discovery+ if they wanted to continue to watch certain shows. If I’m being honest, I’m still irritated. However, when looking at this from a financial perspective, in the long run this will save me money, as I will be canceling direct tv now that our contract is up. This may not be the case for others, so it is frustrating to know that this network is basically requiring you to pay more money for something that you are already paying for with cable. Yes I get it. It’s only $5, that’s not the point. Ok, that’s the end of my rant lol... I so far am enjoying g the content. However, the app could use some improvement. When you’re streaming a show to your television from the app and close the app it often times will shut the app down completely not allowing you to click back open to the app to rewind or fast-forward. And then have to go into your continue watching section where it restarts the episode in the wrong spot. It would also be nice to have the option to remove episodes from the continue watching section. Also I am unable to download this app on my chrome cast televisions. And PLEASE, when I have finished an episode, take it off of the continue watching section. That drives me bonkers!!

    This subscription has everything! I dont need to pay for anything else but this. Its so good and I am so happy they created this! The only thing I wish it had was the new History channel shows about the men who built america and the food that built america and I think there is also the machines that built america. Other than that its awesome.

    I love all the different channels and content available- this app has become our go to over the last week. However there have been multiple issues while watching on Apple TV. The big one is if I decide to stop watching a show and try to back out of it, it takes a bit of time to go back to the menu and even then, the audio of the show continues to play, and I can’t scroll through the menu while that’s going on. I have to actually back the whole way out to the Apple TV Home Screen in order to get the audio to stop and wait a few min from there to get the Discovery app to “reset”. Next issue, not as major, is when an episode ends and is moving on to the next automatically, I get an error when it attempts to auto play. Once I click “try again”, it does move on though. The last thing I’ve noticed is on several occasions once an ad airs, when the episode comes back on, it’ll have reset the show back to a previous point. If it lets me fast forward (it gets hung up and almost laggy when this happens as in the previous situation of trying to back out of an episode), it’ll hit the same commercial break and just jump backwards in the episode again.

    Love all the channels and shows we can get. This is the streaming app we use more than any other. However… you need to learn how to build an app there are some pretty pathetic rookie kinks in this app that only belong in one built by a tiny amateur company. For starters I should not still see every single episode of every show we’ve watched in my continue watching list. Secondly and I think partly to blame for the first issue is the fact that each episode we watch seems to scroll back several minutes after we finish it. So if we continue to the next episode then back out before we finish it, the previous episode shows before the current one on the list causing us to continue an episode we’ve already watched when we try to pick up where we left off if we don’t pay really close attention. It’s incredibly frustrating! I really hope your developers get on the ball soon. In conclusion… progress tracking of episodes needs to be more accurate and delete completed episodes from the continue watching list. I should see 5 or 6 episodes there but instead there’s over 100. It’s been this way from the start I know I’m not the only one to complain and I don’t think this is too much to expect

    It is great when it works, but this is the 2nd time that casting to google cast devices stopped working. Same issue as others it connects shows the "ready to Cast" screen with Discovery logo. but the play button on phone is not responsive. does not work with all 4 stand-alone google cast devices and the one built into the Vizio TV, none of them work. How do you roll back to a previous version?

    This app has brought all my favorite channels into one place along with exclusive content and I’m delighted. However, there is room for improvement. The picture is sometimes blurry when I’m casting to my Google Chromecast. Its usually spotty or clears up after about five minutes but there was one day where it stayed blurry and pixelated the entire day. Maybe the connection to the server can be stronger. Also, I would like a “watch bar” at the bottom of the app for when I’m casting like Netflix has. If you go out of the show you are currently watching there is no bar at the bottom of the screen that shows what you’re currently watching. This is especially aggravating because the app auto plays to a different show if the one you’re watching finishes. So I’ve had to go searching in the app for the new show that’s playing, click into the episode, just to be able to stop it from playing. This is insane to have to do. What I’m actively watching (via chrome cast) should always be available in a bar right at the bottom of the screen. The shows and variety are great but the app could use some better functionality. Please think more of people who use Chromecasts.

    After reading all the other reviews, I'm glad to know I'm not crazy and that the app IS the problem with casting!! I've already reset my router, TV, phone and uninstalled/re-installed the app twice. All of my other entertainment apps cast without any problems whatsoever. I emailed tech support last night but obviously that's not going to go anywhere. Ugh.

    I love Discovery Plus but this app is terrible. I have had to uninstall and reinstall so many times, it works for a short time, then stops working and won't cast to my TV. This is the only app that I have an issue with and the only one I pay for! It is so frustrating I am tired of emailing back and forth. Everyone has been really nice that I've worked with but I shouldn't have this many issues. If there are this many casting issues there needs to be an app on the TV instead of having to cast.

    As others have said, the app works horribly (or not at all sometimes) with Chromecast. Yes, the content available is fantastic, which makes this casting issue so frustrating. I have contacted the help team, multiple times about this. I’ve done every suggestion they’ve given (cleared cache, re-downloaded the app, reset my WiFi, etc.) and nothing helps. I will say the team are always very responsive and try to help. But what I learned from one team member after all of these suggestions failed is that unless you have a tv/setup that enables screen mirroring on your tv, attempting to Chromecast will continue to be problematic. That’s unfortunate considering many people don’t have this option, including myself. I have an iPhone, but not a newer tv capable of this. It feels a bit disingenuous to find this out AFTER I’d paid for a subscription. I’ve continued to keep my subscription because the amount of content is great, but will not be renewing at the end of this month. To potential customers I would say be wary if you plan on Chromecasting but don’t have the screen mirroring function on your tv. To the potential developer’s response- I have already been through the help process and suggestions. I don’t need to go through it again. I just need the Chromecasting to be vastly improved. Please fix this!

    If I could give you no stars, I would. I pay you to stream videos, not for constant buffering or no internet connection errors when I have an excellent connection. This has nothing to do with my provider or equipment. It's on your end. Your app is the only video streaming app I have that doesn't work properly for Xbox. This issue needs to be fixed.

    I love all the shows but besides that everything else sucks don't know how I can be charged for something that has to constantly load or sound goes out or freezes an skips to next episode. And it's the worst one I use on my Xbox and the only one I have a problem with. If it wasn't for all the shows I enjoy I would give up on it an to be honest I still might.

    I used to love this app then it stopped streaming to Chromecast. Was told by the email support to uninstall and reinstall. It worked until the next day I opened the app and same issue. It'll play on the phone but not on chromecast. As soon as you stream to it, the stream goes to 0 and nothing happens. Review will stand until this is fixed. I signed up for this service with Verizon so I am happy to cancel it to make my bill smaller.

    The contents of the app are great and love watching the shows I love. BUT the app is like using the very first streaming apps that ever came out. I use the app to stream to my TV and when I do the quality of the video is so awful. (No I’m not just watching older shows. I watch the magnolia network shows and the quality was still bad ONLY when streaming to my TV.) I haven’t had this problem with any of my other streaming apps. I can’t use my phone to answer a text without fear of having the app glitch out when streaming to my TV. There have been many times when I get a FaceTime call and I can’t easily pause the video to answer. When that happens I have to close the app then re-open the app, find the show I was watching, press play from where ever it wants to play (from the very beginning or a whole different episode) then press pause. After my calls, I have to re find my place and I had a problem with finding my place then after an ad break it hopped back to the very beginning of the episode (I had to restart the app). It is not user friendly but all streaming apps have gone through this phase so I will keep the app in the hopes that it will be better in the near future. If not I’ll just cancel and delete the app. I STRONGLY SUGGEST HAVING A WAY TO STREAM TO A TV BEFORE PRESSING PLAY ON A SHOW (helps with the long buffer).

    I was unable to upgrade to add-free after starting the 7 day free trial. I was basically sent on a wild goose chase, with your website directing me to make changes within your website. Then say they can only be made on the app store, when on the app store you can actually only unsubscribe or resubscribe, without being able to change anything.

    Discovery+ sucks WAY too much data/bandwidth on my phone! It runs for hours and hours w/out checking to see if I'm still watching, like other apps(Netflix, Hulu, etc) ALSO endlessly runs in background And there is no way to adjust the video quality for the purpose of limiting the bandwidth while watching videos Getting ready to delete from my phone as it's used up all "unlimited" data on my phone plan and I'll now be subjected to throttling for the next 2 weeks until my next billing period.

    My biggest con is how the app works when you are playing a show and casting it to your TV. There’s no “now showing” menu option so I often get lost because I’m also browsing other things on my phone. That means pausing or stopping is very difficult. This is even more annoying when it is set to automatically play next, but if there are no newer episodes of that show it defaults to the same brother vs brother season 1 episode 1 show. Over and over. Then there is some lag between pausing the show and stopping casting (just hitting stop casting doesn’t automatically pause the episode like most other apps) The algorithm on the featured programming seems a little off— for example tonight was premier of battle on the beach on HGTV. Lots of ads on Facebook for it. But when I go to the discovery + app it’s not on the Home Screen of featured programs or on the HGTV feature programs. I had to manually search for the show. I’d also like it to be more clear when I’ve already watched a show. Otherwise I love the concept of having some of my favorite networks and programs available in one app.

    Great shows on this app but what I am most impressed with uys their Customer Service. A few days ago I noticed I could no longer cast to my TV using Google Chromecast. I emailed customer service and was immediately contacted via email with questions regarding versions of apps etc. I replied and soon after was notified that they made some updates and to uninstall and reinstall (which I had done prior to contacting customer service). That fixed it I can cast again! Great service!! Thanks!

    Hey y’all I do t know what’s wrong but I updated my app earlier and since then it has not been working. My subscription is paid for and I am not sure of what may be wrong. I love this app and usually am quite satisfied with it. I don’t understand since it’s a paid for subscription and not just thru a tv provider why it doesn’t include all the old and new shows on each channel such as with lifetime -Cell Mate Secrets isn’t on there and with Hgtv, lots of the classics are missing such as All the Sarah Richardson shows like Design inc, Room Service,Sarah 101, Sarah’s House(and cottage etc),Sarah sees potential, and the new Sarah off the Grid, Divine Design,Candace Tells All, Shop this Room and more plus on some of the others random episodes are missing. But other than that and the fact my app is not working at this moment (and I uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working ) I love this app more than any other I have

    This is the best App I have now. All the shows I like and new ones I’m enjoying. Especially Mike Rowe Six Degrees. I’ve read where some people are having connection issues. I’ve had the app since day one on my phone and Apple TV with zero connection issues what so ever. All 5 of my kids have been chain watching shows and all say the same thing no issues at all. Maybe delete the app and add it back. Or now with all the amount of data being used look into your internet connection. I had 300 MPs download but had so many things connected slowed it down and froze a lot. I switched to 1 gig download and all my problems stopped. I can watch 4K movies in multiple rooms all streaming with no issues anymore. It could also be your phones data plan too with certain low data things active you will get break ups. And I’m using a iPhone 11 Pro when I watch.

Any issues that I've had in the past were immediately addressed and resolved. 5 stars to their customer service who are very attentive in getting your issue resolved as quickly a possible. A suggestion to the Discovery+ team: Is there a way to get notifications for new episodes of shows I have on My List?

    The world is so chaotic these days with all that has gone on with the pandemic so we need things that bring us joy and a sense of peace. I absolutely get that with this channel~ I can come home and watch shows that are so uplifting and yes they make me cry Happy tears but I’m ok with it, I love that! I’m a fan of the shows that do the good!! I feel so blessed to have Discovery+, I may have a bit of a friend crush for Chip & Jo and love some Hometown and have found my new soulmates Nate & Jeremiah!! It’s a good feeling knowing that I am spending my time watching shows that make a difference no matter how they do it, with food or decor, ripping out walls or jumping thru them. I know the outcome brings such happiness and that makes me a happy girl! Thank you for this channel!!     Overall, this app is amazing but it still has to work out some kinks. The price is great, especially to have the ad-free version. I was hoping it was the answer to cancelling another streaming service I subscribe to but this app doesn’t have the original 90 Day Fiancé show, just a streaming channel. Also, random episodes are missing on some shows, so I again have to revert to my other streaming service to watch there. The app freezes briefly on Roku TV after pausing or rewinding, and will skip over the part it freezes on. I’ve had no issues casting from my iPhone to my Vizio TV. I can still use my phone while it’s casting and there is no freezing or glitching. The functionality of the home screen needs some improvement organizationally and to provide the ability to delete episodes in “Continue Watching”. When it auto plays or I check out shows, I don’t necessarily want them to stay in “Continue Watching” because then I have to scroll through those to get to what I really want to continue watching. The catalog of shows is exceptional and I do love that some shows are unedited - very refreshing to be able to listen to people swear instead of hearing “beeep beeeep”. I would honestly pay more to have them remove the censorship bleeps from all shows (Gold Rush, I’m looking at you). I was sure I would cancel after the trial but I’ve stayed on as a subscriber because we now watch Discovery+ more than our other streaming services.

    I love this app. I'm so incredibly happy with the selection of shows and networks. But I have a huge problem streaming anything to my smart TV. This app has a horrible system for streaming. It's almost impossible to pause/play your show while also browsing the app. I've found that I have to go back into the show I'm watching, click the exact episode I'm watching, and then the app with allow me to pause the show. I just wish there was a better way to control streaming while also using the app. Other big streaming apps have an interface that's on screen all the time while streaming to allow you to control your show as you browse the app. It would be huge if you guys added one too. Another problem I'm experiencing is the app not playing the episode at all, or with the sound only. The app will connect to my TV but won't load the episode or picture. The last problem I've experienced is sometimes the app will replay 5 to 10 minutes of my show over and over again. The only way to escape this seemingly never ending loop is to skip ahead past the repeated scene. Otherwise I love this app so much and I will continue to use it, especially if streaming becomes easier to use.

    I love all the different channels and content available- this app has become our go to over the last week. However there have been multiple issues while watching on Apple TV. The big one is if I decide to stop watching a show and try to back out of it, it takes a bit of time to go back to the menu and even then, the audio of the show continues to play, and I can’t scroll through the menu while that’s going on. I have to actually back the whole way out to the Apple TV Home Screen in order to get the audio to stop and wait a few min from there to get the Discovery app to “reset”. Next issue, not as major, is when an episode ends and is moving on to the next automatically, I get an error when it attempts to auto play. Once I click “try again”, it does move on though. The last thing I’ve noticed is on several occasions once an ad airs, when the episode comes back on, it’ll have reset the show back to a previous point. If it lets me fast forward (it gets hung up and almost laggy when this happens as in the previous situation of trying to back out of an episode), it’ll hit the same commercial break and just jump backwards in the episode again.

    The only issue I have with this app is it doesn’t show all of the history shows like for instance they just started a new season of mystery of Skinwalker Ranch, I’m kind of bummed out about it is because it’s not even showing any of the new episodes,Same with Fortune fire I’m actually really disappointed that you have everything but any of the new history shows when are you guys going to start updating that? Oh yeah I forgot to add that you guys don’t have curse of Oak Island the unexplained or any of your new episodes of ancient aliens, it’s not crashing I have no problems accessing the app but on your history channel area on the app it doesn’t have all of their shows that my only issue it would be nice if you guys would add some of the shows that I’m talking about it would be nice if you guys would do that, it’s not crash not at all.

    The app is really stable, however you recently watched ( not finished ) episodes appear middle of the 'for you' page. His should be at the top, instead of me having to scroll half way down a list of trash TV I could give a sheet less about. When you're clicking on a show on desktop it doesn't take you to an 'about page' for the show, it automatically starts playing an episode. You have to hover over the show, wait for a little drop down bar to appear, and then click on that to get the 'about' page with the episode list. There is also no way to know what shows are currently airing. It would be nice if they would make that easily seen, some kind of dot, star, check mark, anything. I haven't had cable in 10 years, it's nice to finally watch shows as they are airing, but I have no idea what's been on TV and is still airing current episodes.

    There’s a lot of Discovery content, and a little History, to entertain for endless hours. There are some playback features and functions you might miss from other streaming services. 1. There’s no way to connect to Chromecast or another device on your TV until AFTER you start an episode. This means you have to buffer, load, and play the video on your phone before you can tell it to connect to a external device on your TV. It’s very annoying. 2. The streaming on your TV/Chromcast and the controls on the phone lose sync so you sometimes have to stop, reconnect and start again to change playback. You also my need to know the exact show and episode playing to click back into it to get the controls back. 3. My biggest annoyance is the app will not stop streaming on a Chromecast unless you manually stop it. There’s no “are you there” option to check in and save your data usage and stop streaming after a few episodes if the TV is shut off while still streaming. If you set the sleep timer on your TV while a show is playing it will play all night and all day until you turn the TV back on the next night…and it’s still streaming. Has happened to me several times. I like the service, but the app it’s lacking some of the refined user experience features that users expect from a streaming service day one. This was either rushed out and not extensively tested, or it was never extensively tested. Neither is really acceptable.

    I was initially irritated that people were being forced to get Discovery+ if they wanted to continue to watch certain shows. If I’m being honest, I’m still irritated. However, when looking at this from a financial perspective, in the long run this will save me money, as I will be canceling direct tv now that our contract is up. This may not be the case for others, so it is frustrating to know that this network is basically requiring you to pay more money for something that you are already paying for with cable. Yes I get it. It’s only $5, that’s not the point. Ok, that’s the end of my rant lol... I so far am enjoying g the content. However, the app could use some improvement. When you’re streaming a show to your television from the app and close the app it often times will shut the app down completely not allowing you to click back open to the app to rewind or fast-forward. And then have to go into your continue watching section where it restarts the episode in the wrong spot. It would also be nice to have the option to remove episodes from the continue watching section. Also I am unable to download this app on my chrome cast televisions. And PLEASE, when I have finished an episode, take it off of the continue watching section. That drives me bonkers!!

    Love all the channels and shows we can get. This is the streaming app we use more than any other. However… you need to learn how to build an app there are some pretty pathetic rookie kinks in this app that only belong in one built by a tiny amateur company. For starters I should not still see every single episode of every show we’ve watched in my continue watching list. Secondly and I think partly to blame for the first issue is the fact that each episode we watch seems to scroll back several minutes after we finish it. So if we continue to the next episode then back out before we finish it, the previous episode shows before the current one on the list causing us to continue an episode we’ve already watched when we try to pick up where we left off if we don’t pay really close attention. It’s incredibly frustrating! I really hope your developers get on the ball soon. In conclusion… progress tracking of episodes needs to be more accurate and delete completed episodes from the continue watching list. I should see 5 or 6 episodes there but instead there’s over 100. It’s been this way from the start I know I’m not the only one to complain and I don’t think this is too much to expect

    It is great when it works, but this is the 2nd time that casting to google cast devices stopped working. Same issue as others it connects shows the "ready to Cast" screen with Discovery logo. but the play button on phone is not responsive. does not work with all 4 stand-alone google cast devices and the one built into the Vizio TV, none of them work. How do you roll back to a previous version?

    This app has brought all my favorite channels into one place along with exclusive content and I’m delighted. However, there is room for improvement. The picture is sometimes blurry when I’m casting to my Google Chromecast. Its usually spotty or clears up after about five minutes but there was one day where it stayed blurry and pixelated the entire day. Maybe the connection to the server can be stronger. Also, I would like a “watch bar” at the bottom of the app for when I’m casting like Netflix has. If you go out of the show you are currently watching there is no bar at the bottom of the screen that shows what you’re currently watching. This is especially aggravating because the app auto plays to a different show if the one you’re watching finishes. So I’ve had to go searching in the app for the new show that’s playing, click into the episode, just to be able to stop it from playing. This is insane to have to do. What I’m actively watching (via chrome cast) should always be available in a bar right at the bottom of the screen. The shows and variety are great but the app could use some better functionality. Please think more of people who use Chromecasts.

    I’m happy with the content of the shows on this app and it was very easy to set up on my tv, iPad, etc, but when I go to a category and select a show to be on my List, or just to look at the description, there’s no way to get back to where I was in the listings. I’m immediately sent back to the beginning of the Home page and I have to start searching categories from scratch. Also, I’ve messed around watching some shows and now these shows are stuck in the Continue list. There’s some shows I looked at and have no intention of watching to the end and I can’t get rid of them. I even fast forwarded one to the end and the next episode immediately came up! Now I have that one and the previous ep (because it shows two seconds left)also stuck in Continue! I’m sure you’re working on these things, and I look forward to getting bug fixes and improvements in the future, but it’s so annoying to have these shows clogging up the space. Netflix has an option that says “remove this title from this row”. It’s a very good option. Just a thought.

    As others have said, the app works horribly (or not at all sometimes) with Chromecast. Yes, the content available is fantastic, which makes this casting issue so frustrating. I have contacted the help team, multiple times about this. I’ve done every suggestion they’ve given (cleared cache, re-downloaded the app, reset my WiFi, etc.) and nothing helps. I will say the team are always very responsive and try to help. But what I learned from one team member after all of these suggestions failed is that unless you have a tv/setup that enables screen mirroring on your tv, attempting to Chromecast will continue to be problematic. That’s unfortunate considering many people don’t have this option, including myself. I have an iPhone, but not a newer tv capable of this. It feels a bit disingenuous to find this out AFTER I’d paid for a subscription. I’ve continued to keep my subscription because the amount of content is great, but will not be renewing at the end of this month. To potential customers I would say be wary if you plan on Chromecasting but don’t have the screen mirroring function on your tv. To the potential developer’s response- I have already been through the help process and suggestions. I don’t need to go through it again. I just need the Chromecasting to be vastly improved. Please fix this!

    The contents of the app are great and love watching the shows I love. BUT the app is like using the very first streaming apps that ever came out. I use the app to stream to my TV and when I do the quality of the video is so awful. (No I’m not just watching older shows. I watch the magnolia network shows and the quality was still bad ONLY when streaming to my TV.) I haven’t had this problem with any of my other streaming apps. I can’t use my phone to answer a text without fear of having the app glitch out when streaming to my TV. There have been many times when I get a FaceTime call and I can’t easily pause the video to answer. When that happens I have to close the app then re-open the app, find the show I was watching, press play from where ever it wants to play (from the very beginning or a whole different episode) then press pause. After my calls, I have to re find my place and I had a problem with finding my place then after an ad break it hopped back to the very beginning of the episode (I had to restart the app). It is not user friendly but all streaming apps have gone through this phase so I will keep the app in the hopes that it will be better in the near future. If not I’ll just cancel and delete the app. I STRONGLY SUGGEST HAVING A WAY TO STREAM TO A TV BEFORE PRESSING PLAY ON A SHOW (helps with the long buffer).

    My biggest con is how the app works when you are playing a show and casting it to your TV. There’s no “now showing” menu option so I often get lost because I’m also browsing other things on my phone. That means pausing or stopping is very difficult. This is even more annoying when it is set to automatically play next, but if there are no newer episodes of that show it defaults to the same brother vs brother season 1 episode 1 show. Over and over. Then there is some lag between pausing the show and stopping casting (just hitting stop casting doesn’t automatically pause the episode like most other apps) The algorithm on the featured programming seems a little off— for example tonight was premier of battle on the beach on HGTV. Lots of ads on Facebook for it. But when I go to the discovery + app it’s not on the Home Screen of featured programs or on the HGTV feature programs. I had to manually search for the show. I’d also like it to be more clear when I’ve already watched a show. Otherwise I love the concept of having some of my favorite networks and programs available in one app.

    I love Discovery+. Problem is since day 1 no matter what device I'm on or wherever I'm at we get the loading circle stuck in the middle of screen after a commercial. I'm a day 1 subscriber and this issue still persists. It's been long enough. Fix the app please. It is NOT an internet issue. This absolutely on your guys end. I'm fed up.

    I hate that the only streaming app I have on my phone that doesn’t allow Picture in Picture is the discovery+ app. I love to watch shows while I multitask and I can’t do that if I want to watch from the app. As much as I love the shows on Discovery+, once my free subscription is up I won’t renew it because I have too much to do and not having PIP limits me. I would never pay for a streaming service that limits my ability to multitask and get things done. I literally have to stop and exit the app anytime I need to respond to a message or send proofs to someone. It’s irritating and the overall experience reminds me of losing my virginity. Clumsy, dissatisfying and finding myself asking “why?” With all the technology we have at our fingertips why would I waste my time with an unpolished app? A woman has needs. I need to be entertained while also being satisfied on every level. This app is like going back to the man I lost my virginity to 40+ years later and he literally can not go the distance. To get right up to the brink only for him to go flaccid. Unfulfilled pleasure. Left wanting. This app needs viagra, to put it bluntly.

    I always cast from my phone to watch on my TV. All my other streaming services work seamlessly. With this app in particular, I can’t watch any episode of anything without constant buffering, skipping, lagging audio, fuzziness, and crashing when I cast. When I don’t cast, the stream works with no issues. And even more frustrating, the commercials play as they should without any of the problems. My internet connection is strong, my device is not out-of-date, I’ve done the suggested resets and power-on-and-off, my TV plays everything else just fine, but when I try and play from the Discovery+ app, i can’t watch without a headache from the problems. At times the chromecast and Apple TV icon flashes and disappears. This was not happening a month ago and it goes on for several days before I get a “good day” where there are not any problems. Seriously considering ending my subscription. I’ve taken this issue to the help service and they took down my information of versions and an update came out but that did not fix the problems.

    I can no longer cast to google chromecast with this app. It just quit working. It connects, but when you hit play nothing happens. It is not a problem on my end becuase i can cast other apps Also, my partner can cast Discovery + with their app. My app just wont work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache, etc. Nothing works.

    There’s nothing in the app or the streaming service that indicates newest episodes of your favorite shows. I’m a big fan of 90-Day Fiancé which has had many spin-off shows related to the 90-Day Fiancé originals. The only problem (which is very time consuming) is that the newest episodes of any of the 90-Day shows & spin-offs (which are advertised as containing all the newest episodes) are not showing the dates of any episodes - which makes it very hard to find the newest episodes of the series that maybe you missed. I usually give up because it is an exercise in frustration and one literally has to hunt for the most recent episodes. I can only imagine that this is the norm for all the networks. Can’t you come up with a more user friendly interface that makes it easier to find by listing original dates of the episodes that one is searching for? I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated by this and I’m probably going to have to cancel my subscription of $4.99 monthly for a streaming service I can’t navigate.

    Do you guys do any testing before you release an update? You seem to have broken the ability to cast again. The most recent update seems to have broken the casting feature... Now it won't connect, and keeps telling me that there is an unknown error. Other apps are still able to cast to the TV. Also, nobody is going to visit your link to tell you again that the streaming doesn't work. Just fix it.

    Would really like to like this app more, but the app buffers every two of three minutes, making finishing an episode of anything very frustrating if not totally unfeasible. I plan to freeze the account and redownload once buffering issues can be resolved with a new patch. EDIT: I did what the team noted below to recover casting, but buffering is still incessant and picture quality randomly drops. 2 star review reinstated, but otherwise not improved.

    After reading all the other reviews, I'm glad to know I'm not crazy and that the app IS the problem with casting!! I've already reset my router, TV, phone and uninstalled/re-installed the app twice. All of my other entertainment apps cast without any problems whatsoever. I emailed tech support last night but obviously that's not going to go anywhere. Ugh.

    I love Discovery Plus but this app is terrible. I have had to uninstall and reinstall so many times, it works for a short time, then stops working and won't cast to my TV. This is the only app that I have an issue with and the only one I pay for! It is so frustrating I am tired of emailing back and forth. Everyone has been really nice that I've worked with but I shouldn't have this many issues. If there are this many casting issues there needs to be an app on the TV instead of having to cast.

    If I could give you no stars, I would. I pay you to stream videos, not for constant buffering or no internet connection errors when I have an excellent connection. This has nothing to do with my provider or equipment. It's on your end. Your app is the only video streaming app I have that doesn't work properly for Xbox. This issue needs to be fixed.

    I love all the shows but besides that everything else sucks don't know how I can be charged for something that has to constantly load or sound goes out or freezes an skips to next episode. And it's the worst one I use on my Xbox and the only one I have a problem with. If it wasn't for all the shows I enjoy I would give up on it an to be honest I still might.

    I used to love this app then it stopped streaming to Chromecast. Was told by the email support to uninstall and reinstall. It worked until the next day I opened the app and same issue. It'll play on the phone but not on chromecast. As soon as you stream to it, the stream goes to 0 and nothing happens. Review will stand until this is fixed. I signed up for this service with Verizon so I am happy to cancel it to make my bill smaller.

    I was unable to upgrade to add-free after starting the 7 day free trial. I was basically sent on a wild goose chase, with your website directing me to make changes within your website. Then say they can only be made on the app store, when on the app store you can actually only unsubscribe or resubscribe, without being able to change anything.

    Discovery+ sucks WAY too much data/bandwidth on my phone! It runs for hours and hours w/out checking to see if I'm still watching, like other apps(Netflix, Hulu, etc) ALSO endlessly runs in background And there is no way to adjust the video quality for the purpose of limiting the bandwidth while watching videos Getting ready to delete from my phone as it's used up all "unlimited" data on my phone plan and I'll now be subjected to throttling for the next 2 weeks until my next billing period.

    I would give this a good rating, i really would. If it worked 100% of the time that it should. But no matter what, if other devices are signed in, none of the others work. It always glitches, and it's almost never able to play the shows selected. (For some reason, we tried to watch Homegrown and it sent us to a whole different show??) Overall, real dissapointed. This app has some of our favorite shows and it doesn't work half the time :/

    After reading through some reviews, I see I'm not the only one having issues. Shows freeze up, sometime 3 to 4 times in one episode. I have to stop casting to the TV. Then exit the app. Then start all over again. At one point the app would work on any TV in my house because "we're having an issue with Vizio working with us". At least that I what I was told when I contacted D+. Now I'm having yet another issue. The app will cast to my TV, but won't play anything.

    I was unable to upgrade my subscription to the ad-free version without having to wait an entire month for it to cancel and resubscribe. That's absurd, this can't be a difficult option to incorporate. Also, I would get a circle icon appear hovering over the middle of the screen, this would happen every 15 minutes or so after commercials. I would have back out of the show and resume. Super glitchy and annoying service/app. *** Sad copy and paste developer response.
