I have been playing this game for a few years now. Recently (in the last several months) the game has been getting annoyingly slow (connections/load time). Doesn't matter whether I am connected to Wi-Fi or if I'm using my phone data, I will encounter a connection error dozens of times in a day. The pictures of the items in my inventory and in the shop don't load half the time so I will have to click on literally EVERY item and wait for it to load (which takes several minutes). Please fix this.

Update: so I’m a few days in playing everyday and like others have said, I’m at a stand still because I’m low on money. When you do a design challenge you get cash, but then you have to turn right around and spend that cash in order to do another design challenge Bc it has certain requirements you have to meet. There are very few challenges where there are no requirements. I also do not like the fact that you have to keep repurchasing items after 5 uses. Voting also is by other users, so most people are probably just voting for what they personally like and not viewing the design and making sure it matches the description/requirements. It’s still a fun and relaxing game, when you’re able to play it. I downloaded another design game but you had to play mini games in order to collect enough money to design. This game is all about designing, no “other” games to play in order to design. I’m only a level 3 designer right now since I just downloaded, but at level 4 more things unlock. I absolutely love getting to design a room and then you submit it to have it rated/scored by others. I think it’s from other players? You also have a gallery of all the designs you did so you can look back at them if you want, which I thought was cool. You do have to choose wisely about purchases or you will run low on money. I’m not sure how you gain money again yet, maybe by completing challenges and getting good scores. Anyway, I’m only on day 2 of playing and I LOVE IT!

I have never been into video games before, and I am completely addicted to this game!!! I cannot stress this enough! I absolutely love it! However, if I am to be completely honest, I agree that earning cash/diamonds is too difficult. If I’m trying to stay within a design requirement and spending $1000+ (on a low end design) but only receive $500 for the design, that seems off. However, I saw someone else suggest earning diamonds for extra voting, which I agree would be an excellent way to incentivize more. Trading unused/unwanted items in would be great! Also once you hit a criteria level (plants, art, table stuff) you should get to use that unlimited, you already earned it. I also read how people don’t use the criteria mentioned in the description and the designs all end up being only neutral colors and monotonous. I suggest being more aggressive with item requirements, such as more color item requirements per design, and mix them up so that people can learn color theory while they play. I am so tired of voting for only black or white furnishings...I want to see more COLOR please!!! One last item...more challenges-more often, with higher rewards, one suggestion would be if a design wins 4.0 or higher and they use an element in their design that uses diamonds, then they earn those diamonds as a reward. But overall, I FREAKING LOVE this game!!! Thank you!!! Bravo!!! Keep tweaking!

I've been playing this game for 3 months now and enjoy it a lot. It's fun to take a break and mess around designing a room, and I enjoy seeing what others have done to design the same room. However, I've suspected on numerous occasions that some of my items are gone before I've used them up, but then decided I just had a bad memory... now I am SURE of it! When I went to use chairs that I won recently there was only one in my inventory! I went through my past completed designs and sure enough, I had never used those chairs! Same with a table I had purchased and who knows how many other items...Buying items is expensive and winning them is challenging! (The game should be WAY less stingy with diamonds! 500 hundred a day should be 1000 and winning a mere 125 for a five star design is ridiculous! That should be 1000 as well, especially considering one halfway decent plant or picture sets you back 1000 diamonds! There should also be some diamonds awarded for four star entries, with five stars winning more.) With inventory being so precious I'd like to be able to use the full five I have bought or won and not have the game lose them, or whatever is happening to my inventory. DO NOT SPEND ACTUAL MONEY ON THIS GAME! Also, don't waste your time trying to "complete offers" to earn extra diamonds. You will almost never actually get any diamonds. It is a waste of time. Play the game but use your daily rewards only.

  • Great Game but Could Use Some Tweaks Mar 14, 2018

I really do love this game and greatly enjoy designing the different rooms using different styles. There is room for improvement. For example, I wait in anticipation for my designer score on a particular room that I was extremely pleased in how it turned out, only to receive a lower score while a room that was designed in all white, all black, a combination of the two or one that didn’t even follow the style description wins “Top Score”. I’ve voted for some pretty amazing designs during judging that I’m sure also scored lower than the so called “Top Designs” that use little imagination by going monochromatic or use whatever style the player wishes rather than follow the style description given. It’s kind of demotivating to say the least. I feel as if 90% of the players have a thing against using actual color in a design. It would be helpful if the developers left in the description on the voting screens to remind the judging public of what style was supposed to be depicted. Also, items are priced way too high for only getting 5 uses from them before having to repurchase them. And last but not least, there is a greatly insufficient diversity in artwork and decorative items to go with the varied style choices. If you can ignore the “color blind” attitudes of the voting public and not get too upset when your design doesn’t do as well as the same boring all black, white or gray right rooms, then you’ll enjoy this game.

It takes a lot of time to scroll through the choices of furniture because the filtering options are limited. If you don't have enough diamonds or dollars there's no way to limit your choices to what you can afford. The options for wall art and floor art, and carpets are what make decorating fun but are extremely limited. You can't choose curtains or cushions. Ever since they introduced the series decorating elements, every 5 star design looks about the same. It's getting dull.

If you like to look at pretty furniture and imagine you might be wealthy enough to afford pretty things, this game is for you, at first. Once you spend the money you start with, it's impossible to keep playing w/o spending your real money or watching a ton of ads. It makes no sense that each room you put together for your "client" only gives you like $500 to $2,000 of in game money, but you have to buy all their furniture? Shouldn't the client pay for their own furniture?

Absolutely love the design aspect of this game but I constantly get an error for internet connection or the app "restarts". I often lose completely designed rooms that haven't been finalized. I do not have this issue with other apps and my internet connection for everything else in my house is stable. Please fix. I shouldn't need to connect to wifi to use this app but it is worse when I don't.

I've played Design Home for about 4 years. This is a relaxing and fun game that helped me learn about furniture styles. The furniture you choose when designing a room are real pieces from various retailers. Room designs are rated by other players, which can't be taken as a true representation of how well - or not - you furnished a room. It's still great to receive a perfect 5! I play for free, but I still receive the opportunity for discounts on real furnishings by completing certain designs.

There are several things I like about this game. One is that it is really up to you if you pay to play or not. I have done it both ways and it’s fun either way. I was obsessed when I first started playing. My friends were worried about me. I still play everyday and usually complete at least one to three designs a day. But life has started keeping me from playing all day long. Some people complain about the design reward structure and the way the items are listed, but I think it is pretty fair so as to keep the game challenging. The only thing is, your personality probably influences how you play. I create and vote for rooms I would actually want to be in and I don’t necessarily like a room that is completely monochromatic. I prefer balance and there are more ways to achieve balance than just using the same color everywhere. Most of the winning designs are very monochromatic and they totally utilize whatever design bundle is for sale. If getting 5.0 designs is what you are all about, and you don’t really care about creativity, just buy every design bundle and pick one color for every design. You will probably get top designs almost every time that way. I have learned to just play the game for my own enjoyment, not to win. Most of the time I get at least 4.0 and that wins you furniture prizes, which is great to increase your inventory.

Really love playing this game. Just a bit of constructive criticism of the “top” designs..., first of all, these designs use repetitive wall art (expensive) and actually not realistic to apply, imho. Secondly the wall, table art and rugs are so important that it makes you want to buy diamonds just to compete which is fair motivation for in app purchases. But I do find it interesting that these over-designed and frankly cluttered spaces are top designs. I rarely vote for them or can’t say I’ve been asked to. As well, the “requirements” and their expense to obtain a design at all, rarely looks better than what I can do with my own inventory! I realize that is the challenge aspect and additionally some of the bigger spenders do merit respect. Looking at the cost to compete where 99$ of diamonds is appealing- it is too much for me to seriously consider- maybe when I’m retired I’ll work it into my plans. In real time, I will say that I have played the app daily and enjoyed playing and shopping and honing my design eyes. I have realized how much I can do with my own furniture. I even think I have been inspired to make beautiful changes to my own home too! Thanks for the entertainment and education. I have always used magazines as my go to or hgtv- this app adds a new dimension in a fun and interactive way. I will likely play it as long as I can. Thank you!

This is a fun game. I like to play around with the different possibilities for rooms. I also like designing my own house in the game. Be forewarned: you will spend money in this game. Because you will want to. However, It's possible to have a lot of fun without spending very much. I've been finding furniture items I want in real life. I'm seeing the rooms in my physical house differently and I'm learning the looks & feel that I like. 8 months later: still playing every day.

This is a very fun way to keep current in home design. The inventory’s on trend and bonus points for the catalogue of info on each piece in the event you might like to purchase an item for your own real house. I happened onto this game and took off with it kind of learning the rules, strategy of play, etc as I go. I have been playing almost a year now and spent $200 on my debit card to buy inventory. I have only received 3 scores of 5 in all my designs entered which seems extremely unfair as when I view the 5 star design winners they are no where as near as nice as my own entry. It seems to me like the voting system is off kilter, why not let real true experienced designers make the decision on final score. That seems more like it, and would probably be helpful in keeping the character of the design patterns fresh, rather than stagnating into only a certain look getting showcased into the 5 category. One last comment, the winning designs do not seem to take into account the preview info given about the home owners goals. Often times the 5 star designs do not pay any attention to the criteria of gender of the intended occupant or style desired by owners. Therefore, a pink frilly room is able to achieve a score of 5 even though the monologue calla for designing a room for a boy occupant. How does that work when the rest of us are taking in the desired effect of each room asked for in the description? Otherwise, love, love, love this addicting app.

I absolutely love this game but it's just too expensive. Diamonds are slow to come by which makes completing designs difficult so you have to buy them with real money, but you go through them too quickly. While the selection of furnitures are amazing, the prices are high. You make $500 a submission but a price of furniture a challenge requires may be $1000. While it is fun, it is also a money trap if you want to do a great job and meet the challenges.

Was fun but you can't really play this without forking out real money on a regular basis. You never make enough diamonds from challenges to break even in what you had to spend, so it's not very satisfying. Also, theres loads of criteria to filter items by but no way to filter or sort on price? So much scrolling to find something for what you're willing to spend. Fun and graphically very satisfying, but progress is real slow if you're not willing to invest actual money.

I really like the concept. The prizes do not inspire me to do much beyond the daily. You only win a piece of furniture with a score of 4.5*. Score 5.0* you also get $125, however that is like someone handing you a dollar to buy groceries with, thus no incentive to earn 5.0*. The game itself is enjoyable. No stress, no alliances to join with a constant push to do more and more. Biggest complaint is the frequent need to reload game as others complained. My WiFi is fine, so it is a server issue.

Started out good. But then you realize that all the rooms are to be decorated symmetrically. Also, the style that the "client" wants doesn't really matter because you're limited to what you have, or what you can "afford". Would be nice if the furniture styles were grouped together as in Modern. Country, Bohemian, etc....Just a thought. Nice game to pass the time. Not so good if you want a challenge, or a test of your abilities.

I've noticed that the same players seem to get the highest votes, ALWAYS,even if the dont stick to the type of design. Very frustrating. It's hard to love the game because although u may b told to design a let's say french room, or another type, people just style whatever they want and everyone still gives them a good rating. You should be told to design a certain way, and even if it's really pretty if it doesnt stick to the description you should not get a high vote!

I love this game and spent lots of money on my rooms, but this last update has issues. My wifi is strong and all my other apps work perfectly fine, except this one since I've updated it. I can't get into the rooms to complete them and its annoying! The pop up keeps telling me it's an issue with my wifi but I know that can't be the reason. I'm upgrading my phone to 5g if the problem persists after that, I will deactivate.
