  • You’re paying for Excel, but it’s easy Jun 14, 2018

    By rejectionhotline
I am in a bad position with my debt and attempted to make this app in a spreadsheet but i am more likely to check an app than a spreadsheet. I wish there were buttons to quickly add payments, but that is not an option. Seeing my payoff progress and having help make a plan to not be in debt, drowning in interest, that this app helped me make was worth $3. If only I only had 2 sources of debt so I didn’t have to pay, but I wouldn’t need this app if it were they simple! Now, making someone who is clearly in debt and needing help getting out of it makes it awfully cruel when you think about asking them to pay for the help, but the app has no ads so I understand. For me, it was worth it. I can see why it wouldn’t be for most.

Best Debt Tracker App Ive downloaded! Been using now for c.2 months, simple and clear- can easily see my debts in one place, my progress and how long it will take to get to my debt free date. Love being able to get an idea of future balances on future dates- good motivation! Only reason for 4 stars is because you can't order the debts by debt free date - developers can you add this feature?

I paid the 2.99 to add additional debts and now I can have all of my debts in one place with an amortization schedule and estimated payoff date. It’s not exact in its calculation but I can work with that because I like how the icon changes when you update the balance. I also decided to treat my household expenditures as “lines of credit” so I have an idea of how much money I can set aside to pay in advance. The only thing I wish was an option was for other if we could select things like rent or household items for example. Other than that, I am happy with the app.
  • Basic tracking of balances, but no way to add a monthly payment Jan 22, 2021

    By PolyTigger
I wanted an app where I could enter my balances and organize them by the snowball method, which states app does very well. If you have more than two debts however you need to buy the pro version. However I went to go enter payments after my first month of using the app and there’s no way to do that. It looks like you need to update the balance of the debt after you make a payment each month. It seems more logical for them to have a button to either say I’ve made my minimum payment or just a spot to enter the payment you made for that month. Maybe I am missing something. I think I read a comment talking about version 1.4. I am currently using 1.38.

It does what it claims to do. Low cost, and easy to use. Only thing is I wish you could say “I want to be debt free by July 2022” and the app could backtrack it and say “You must add $100 to your monthly snowball in order to reach your goal” Basically I’d like to reverse the formula using the date. Instead of having to just play with the snowball number a bunch and see how it affects the debt free date.
  • Exactly what I need May 21, 2020

Not too complicated. I manually update some numbers now and then, and that is always gratifying and keeps me aware of what’s going on. Snowball is super. I with there was a way to organize by amount owed, not just originating debt. It might just be a glitch, but could be super helpful if it could list the debt in that fashion. It’s 5 stars because compared to all the others out there, it’s leaps and bounds better.
  • Fun to use, wish I could add extra payments. Sep 7, 2020

    By 1.2.3LM
I like the app, but it would be nice if I could add extra payments beyond the snowball amount I make rather then having to redo the amount owed and pay off date. It’s great for a quick look at how much I owe and how long till its payed off. It helps a great deal by condensing what I owe in one place on my phone.

Won’t show the bills in the order I want to pay them down even when I choose it in the options. Not able to add extra payment amounts for single times. Did purchase the pro version to discover that I didn’t gain anything over the free version.

Definitely worth paying for the upgrade. Find out that my Home Depot card interest rate was outrageous high. I was able to organize my debt by highest interest rate, which helped pay off my debt faster. This put my debt in front of me in one location and allow me to see the total I owed. Great app!

This app has really helped me organize and order my fiancé and I’s student debt. The only thing that needs improving is the debt payoff calendar. For some reason when I add in excess payments it says it will take longer to pay off our debt which is clearly inaccurate.

No way to mark debt as paid once paid, you can only delete the debt. Being able to see each debt paid off and see the paid off debt pile up is more motivating to me than only being able to see what’s ahead of me. Also there’s no way to get ahold of support except Facebook messenger which they don’t respond to. And, the app says it’s free but it does cost $3 unless you only have 2 debts. I don’t mind the $3 if the other issues I see were fixed.
  • Not what I was expecting Nov 6, 2018

I was looking for an app that would take all of my debt and tell me how much to pay on each debt while focusing on one card to pay off at a time. Then once that card is paid moves on to the next adding the payment from 1st card to what is paid on next one...doesn’t do that. It divides each debt equally to see how much to pay to pay off all at once...not at all helpful

I like this app. It’s simple and user friendly. It gives you a good idea as to how long it will take to pay the debt off, but i feel it is missing one important thing, payments. I wish I could deduct a monthly or extra payments to reflect the changing balance. It doesn’t change from month to month. You have to change the balance each time.

With this app you are essentially forced to pay $4.99 for the pro version. You can only add two points of debt without the pro version. If you only owe money on two things you probably don’t need an app to track it. If you’re trying to pay off debt you probably don’t need to be making frivolous purchases, like buying apps that you can find for free. Did not upgrade, deleted.

I was excited to get this app. I even paid to get the pro version. Super bummed I did. This is super limited and not worth it. I wanted to add in additional payment when it would work for my budget and it won’t let me. It only allows a payment across the board. This gives me less then another app and I was hoping for more.

I was looking for a app to help me conquer the snow ball debit plan. Reviews look good, description said this app is “FREE”. After I downloaded a bunch to find out you actually have to pay I was excited thinking I found the one! After talking all the time to log my info SURE ENOUGH there is a FEE for the snowball effect! It’s minimal but due to false advertisement saying this APP is FREE I won’t support this app.

In my quest to reduce debt I’ve tried a few different debt snowball options, and this one was the simplest, single-purpose app for a reasonable price. I’d give it 5 starts if the following were fixed: - Would really like the app to work in landscape mode too. It appears locked in portrait mode. - I’d love for it to work with iCloud sync or at least let me back up my data to Dropbox, etc.

  • Off to a great start, but then... Oct 7, 2018

    By ophelian
I loved this app initially - the design was clear and simple and the debts were easy to add - I was impressed enough to buy the pro version. However in the year I used it several bugs were evident and never improved. First, you have to back or forward date entries - for some reason if you enter, say, a due date of 9/28 it will read as 9/27, so you have to forward date in order to maintain accuracy (I could have that backwards, but in either case you have to finagle dates). Also, the debts always register the starting balance as the size of the debt when considering the snowball - so when I began it kept trying to calculate my snowball according to the smallest original balance even though I was starting with a debt that, at present, was significantly smaller than my others due to higher payments, lower interest, yadda yadda...but was originally larger than some of my smaller credit card balances. I really wanted to like this app for some reason and worked with those annoying hiccups (hoping the developers would catch and correct, but never did) but finally threw in the towel once I paid off my first debt and there didn’t seem to be any way to either a) mark the debt as paid or b) apply the payment to the next debt. For 2 weeks now my paid debt has been sitting with a $0 balance and “projected payoff” date that updates to the current date each day. If there’s a way to correct this, it isn’t easily discoverable with an hour of poking and prodding. Throwing in the towel and recommending you go elsewhere before poking around with this one for a year like I did.

Don't pay the 2.99. I did thinking it would open up some additional features but it doesn't! It's a trick- you can only add 2 debts then it says to upgrade and I wrongly assumed it would get you more features. It's really just the same as you see - not even worth the 2.99!
