Just started using the app and hence a 4 rating. Would revise based on further experience. So far it has been great getting a beginner pick up the learning of yoga at a relaxed pace. Would be great to see the names of the asanas in Hindi/Sanskrit rather than just the English translation.

I started with this program 3 years ago, I think. I am still doing level 1/2, but that is what I love about it. I can work comfortably at what level I want, however long I want, and when I want. I am focusing on my flexibility because of an illness I have that has required the use of prednisone. I will probably always have to take it, but I am at just 2 mg a day. Who knows, my aim is 0 mugs a day. After doing this program for only a year, my bone density scan even showed improvement, not “no change”. My rheumatologist was as proud as I was. FYI- I am a 57 year old retired school teacher with polymyalgia rheumatica. Yes, it is a disease, and it comes and goes. It is autoimmune and loves to attack muscle tissue, like my hips, thighs, neck, shoulders, elbows, and knees. It is not arthritis, but is is so very painful and makes me move like a statue that has been frozen for hundreds of years that finally gets to moves. It is fine as long as I continue to move, but the moment I sit down to rest I have to go through it all over again. No matter the circumstances, I am always happiest when doing the program. Again, I love you GUYS!

Great for the first day; today is my first day downloading and actually using the app but I found it so fun and easy that I've done three workouts and started my own routine that I modified myself I really like this app I normally don't like fitness apps I'm hoping that my motivation continues and I will use this app for a long term cuz as of right now it's the only one that's ever worked. Only did four stars cuz I've been using it less than 4 hours

I want to give this app at minimum 4.5 stars, because it’s apparent the developers have made this a stand out yoga app during a flux of country lockdown efforts to minimize to spread and risk of COVID-19. And while you are absolutely still able to gain access to many practices, it is not enough for me to want to pay $50 (at an 80% discount) for a year’s subscription; or, alternatively, there is a $20/month membership. Of course I want to support the instructors and developers! I have been furloughed from my job for... who even knows, along with 22+mil American’s alone filling for unemployment. I have $86 left to my name. So as much as I believe the app is absolutely worth the money—and if you have the extra cash and are looking for a solid yoga app, I believe it’s worth the money. However, with so many different ones to choose from at the moment being free because of the crisis we’re all in, I will only be using it sparingly, sadly. If you are looking for current apps that offer free yoga because you, too, could use a GD break from life, I’ve found the Nike App’s yoga is killler. I mean, it feels like you’re dead after haha. Also free: Peloton, Glo, Zova, Fitbod, Gaia, the list goes on. There is a 7 day free trial to test the Pro features of DailyYoga before you commit, so why not get 7 days of free fitness on a budget? It’s just too bad that it’s not enough time to really ~know and love~ the app to stay. 😔

I used to love this app, but they keep changing the format so I can never find what I’m looking for. On top of that, they keep adding new levels for more money. I’ve spent over a hundred dollars on this app since I got it and I can’t even do sun salutations with it because I’m not a “gold member”, a category they added after I paid and they shifted the content out to this new more expensive level. On top of that, in trying to open the app in a new phone, it glitches and charged me twice, but only apple support can return my money? I have two years of worthless “silver” content that only gets more useless by the day. I don’t recommend this app anymore. ******* I got the response. Having 2 years on one account sure seems like both went through on the same account. I reached out to the support way back about this problem and all blame was put on the App Store. I get it, you won’t help me access the same content I used to be able to get when I first bought a pro account, back when it was as simple as “free or pro”. You keep adding higher levels and making what people have already paid for the lower level as you invent higher levels. I stand by what I said, I don’t recommend it anymore, I have spent so much money on this app and can’t even open sun salutations on the app, cause now there’s a “gold level”. I can’t get my money back and will just let it expire in two years... it used to be a good app, it’s run horribly in my experience however.

Tablet support could be stronger, and it's a little annoying to be constantly notified of subscription offers while already a paid subscriber, but otherwise it's without a doubt the best and most robust yoga app I have used. Edit: Removing 2 stars because I recently renewed my silver subscription and a core feature was made gold-only shortly thereafter. False advertising and bad business practices. Edit: Removing 1 star for terrible, unapologetic dev reply.

I've been using this app for about six months and I'm finally done with it. The selection menu is not intuitive, and even the intro/beginner sessions do not provide modification options for those of us who are not naturally stretchy, so I spend half my time awkwardly flailing around trying to find a modification that does the same strengthening or stretching as the described position. This stuff is annoying but it's not why I'm ditching this app. I am FED UP with the body-negative language and abundance of sessions that imply bizzare body standards. Can I find a core strengthening session? Only if I dig. Can I find several sessions relating to improving the firmness of my breasts? You bet I can. And then, if I finally find a general toning session, it's called something like "Arm Flab Toning." Wow, thanks for the judgement. I stuck around for as long as I did cause I paid money for the subscription but it's just not worth the judgement any more.

I’ve downloaded many fitness apps and have never stuck with them for more than a few months. I’ve had gym memberships and I’ve tried in person yoga classes and never really loved it. Being in my 40s, I’ve noticed my flexibility and sitting at a desk all day puts tension in muscles that really caused me to have difficulty sleeping at night. So I thought I’d try yoga again...just to see. I downloaded this free app over a year ago and I loved it so much I decided to get a yearly membership—totally worth it! The instruction is great for a virtual platform and you can actually tell if you are doing a pose correctly by the descriptions of subtle postures, breaths, and positions. I’ve been able to feel better rested after a night’s sleep, and I feel my posture corrected and less tension and strain in my muscles, and I’ve noticed my muscles are more defined. It is also so convenient w a very busy lifestyle and has flows for every workout need...it’s also available on different smart devices, like my galaxy tab. I never write reviews, but I love telling my friends about the app, I might as well write a review!

  • I purchased many yoga apps and this is one is by far the best one! Aug 10, 2019

    By Sandy.ge
I am new to yoga, i started using this app and instantly loved how detailed the sessions were but trying to do a work out off a little screen (my phone.), I found it difficult to do my Exercises. i have chrome cast but that didn’t work for this app sadly. This app does support Apple TV but i didn’t want to purchase one, I didn’t think it was worth buying one. Thinking I could find another app that supports chrome cast, i went on a search and found many apps downloaded a few and none supported chrome cast. Finally I found one I could connect to from my laptop to my tv. I was so excited I didn’t even think twice I signed up and paid for the year membership (big mistake) I went to go do my first session on this other app and it was so hard for me to catch up nothing was explained :( and I was so disappointed it wasn’t fun for me like the fun I have when working with this app (Daily Yoga). So I went to the store that night and purchased an Apple TV and i am so happy i did. I look forward to doing yoga everyday, i notice a big difference with my body, slowly becoming more flexible and legs are looking more toned 30 min sessions feel like 10 min sessions. This app is the best one for me. If you’re a beginner like me try this app, you won’t regret it! :)

I wasn’t able to access a rewind button. Perhaps this is part of the idea? That you just keep going? I also wanted to be able to do something that I could share with my friend who has never done yoga but I felt some of the spiritual fundamentals were missing and the focus was mostly physical, which is a preference for some, just not me personally. I did pay a good chunk for the app so that did feel a little disappointing that it didn’t offer the versatility I was looking for. Overall, however, there are certainly more pros to this app than cons. I really enjoy the access to such a wide range of resources including music and especially motivation. I like that you can choose to do a quick run of it where if you were to go to a class you sometimes feel like you’re locked in to that time frame. This offered me the chance to be able to look at what was available and be more apt to do it because you think to yourself “it’s only 20 minutes” or “it’s only 30 minutes” and for someone like me who had really neglected my practice and feel somewhat really rusty now, it’s a great way for me to be forgiving to my body as I get back to my comfort in my practice.

  • Very useful daily app for all levels Sep 21, 2020

    By RyOBako
Daily Yoga has a wide variety of options, sessions, and programs available, most of them free. I chose to become a paying member, but am discovering that if I chose to continue practicing daily, I probably could have earned access to everything “premium” for free, anyway. The cost isn’t that bad, especially when compared to costs of gym or yoga studio memberships. One of my favorite features is the meditation sessions. There are several types and several instructors. Whether I choose a session to increase flexibility or strengthen and tone, or just to increase my heart rate a little, DY provides a good structure for me. My only complaint is that, having a little prior experience with different exercise and yoga programs, I sometimes find that DY does not provide enough warning about proper form to prevent injury, nor provide modifications for most poses. They DO warn to stop a pose and not push past the point of comfort, but I know that sometimes you don’t feel the injury until it happens, and then it’s too late. I have recommended DY to several family members and friends.

I had this st a 5 star but I feel the need to down grade. I paid for this membership and don't see a benefit in doing so. Currently in July,, the app has special articles or yoga strategies for July. When I touch the picture nothing happens. I can't access them which is frustrating. Even more frustrating is there is no "contact us" option where I can ask for help. Not worth the money if you are intending to purchase the membership. stick with the free version.

  • Great variety, not for the person who has done any yoga before Jan 4, 2020

    By webechillin887
Great app that unfortunately has the “let’s hurry up and get this over with” mentality for a lot of their free programs. With the exception of 2 practices I’ve done, I find myself wishing that that they would spend more time on the poses, to actually get a stretch in, feel muscles working, and give you time to breathe and slow the mind through the pose. Holding poses for 4 seconds does not allow for any of that and being rushed in yoga is completely counter productive. I’m sure if you buy the “pro” package the programs will actually give you time to work through the poses, but I wish they would slow down and give their beginners a chance to develop some breath work skills before they buy the whole app. Hopefully the “pro” version has more to offer. All in all if you’ve NEVER done any meditation, yoga, or breathe work this might be a good intro for you. But for those of us who HAVE, the free app will not be enough for you.

  • A glitch and a few concerns Jul 20, 2019

    By Harra M.
I’ve only been using this app for about a week. It’s been on my phone for way longer though. When I completed my first real quick, it glitched out on the 7th day and said I was only active on the app for 6 days. There is suppose to be a surprise on the 7th day, but I never got to know what it was since the calendar glitched out and reset. Also, some exercises that use to be to be free, are no longer free cause of the new update. Was kind of upset but I thought I could just take the exercises off my practice. Sadly, I can’t. Whenever I click on them it says I need to be a Gold Pro member. If it’s possible for me to remove them somehow, please let me know. Since I just started using the app, I decided I would wait a while before I bought Gold Pro membership. Besides these minor problems, the app is fantastic. Just hope these few issues can be solved.

  • No male oriented content Apr 20, 2018

    By Hollybean27
So there are some cool features here. I really like the one stop shopping for meditation, yoga and relaxation music. All things I’ve gone to different places for in the past. So why 3 stars? Well 1) there is no male-oriented yoga content that I can find at all its all young girls doing what they find easy I assume. I was laughing pretty hard when the girl in the beginner video leant forward and casually rested her head on the ground! And 2) They play games with pricing... there’s two levels of PRO so when you think you’re paying to unlock all content, you’re not, there’s content still blocked for more cash and lastly 3) it’s not Apple TV compatible. Shame coz it’s otherwise one of the better apps in the genre.

  • Maybe the gold would be better? May 3, 2019

    By Peony827720
Don’t purchase the silver package, it’s just used to get more money from you to purchase the gold. Which to upgrade instead of originally paying $40 for gold would now put you at $60. The apps hard to navigate, it is hard to know what practice you’ve already done, the survey at the end is annoying, probably not seeing that if your gold. None of the practices and instructors in the silver are matching up to what I did in the trial. I’m super disappointed. I’d love for it to be like the trial practice that made me want to put any money at all towards it. Right now it’s just a frustrating waste, I’m trying to navigate and I don’t want to go home and practice with it because it’s hard to choose a practice. Last nights practice was a waste of my time.

  • One of the most confusing apps Dec 20, 2019

    By NolaValkyrie
I’ve used a lot of apps over the years, and this one has to be one of THE most confusing. I’m sure it’s a good app. I’m sure it has great content. It must or the reviews wouldn’t be so good. I find it cluttered, way too busy (layout), and the ability to find what you’re looking for (if you aren’t a paid member anyway) downright impossible. I’ve received notifications that “my class is getting ready to start” and I’ve yet to find the class. I ought to be able to click on the notification and be taken straight to the class. It doesn’t work that way. So, again, it might be a good app and I’m about ready to delete it and find something more streamlined and user friendly.

  • Would be good for yoga only Feb 26, 2019

    By John Duggins
I enjoy the yoga routines. What I don’t enjoy are the barrage of pop-ups and requests to subscribe and upgrade. I started using the app on the iPad because when using it on the iPhone, there’d be requests for data access multiple times per session. I also disabled notifications. Now there’s pop-ups about requesting notification access on each app load. And the requests to upgrade my subscription are annoying. I’m afraid if I do upgrade to the gold subscription that I’ll keep on getting requests to upgrade to platinum or diamond packages in a never ending series of pushy sales tactics. I have the base subscription and am likely not going to renew. It’s too bad. The yoga portion of the program is pretty good.

Update 4/4/20: So, I’ve used this app for several years on the Silver Pro plan, and it has gone from 5 stars to 2 stars. I hadn’t used the app for a couple of months and was finally able to do so today. First, I had to make an account. Weird, but ok. Then I find most everything I used to have access to and used the most is now part of the Gold Pro. 😡 This is incredibly disappointing. My subscription is up in May, and I won’t be renewing. I’ve been using this app for about two years now and, for the most part, I love it. I started out using the free version and then purchased the Silver pro level. Since I pay for the yearly subscription, I would really prefer not to have to see prompts for upgrading each time I open the app. And now I have to answer the survey at the end of every session before I can exit out. It’s super annoying! Please stop doing that it! At least make it optional so if I don’t feel like answering it, I don’t have to. Please Stop Making Me Rate A Session Every Single Time I Use The App.

  • Hard to Navigate Apr 11, 2019

    By Crimson_Sights
This app is lovely- if you have pro. I personally don’t tend to invest into apps, but this app makes it basically impossible not to. As a non-pro, you only get a few lessons- and that’s it. Nothing else. I understand it’s cheaper than a gym and that the app wishes to make income, but that shouldn’t happen by limiting opportunities. If your true goal was to help everyone, then why would you make it so hard? I also can tell that the search feature is very off. I can specify things, but it seems to give me random things in response. I sent a message asking about this, and I received no response. There should also be a place to find which lessons you have previously done. If there is already one, it is either extremely hard to find or only for pro. I can’t seem to enjoy relaxing with yoga when I can’t even find lessons. In all, I would not recommend this app if you want to do yoga. Try to find an alternative where you can navigate it easily and don’t have to pay for everything. Yoga should be about mediation and relaxing, not worrying about how to get to it. I hope the creators can improve this app, as I truly wish for it to work. But for now, that’s all I can handle. Thank you for your time.
