I have an aunt who is in a nursing facility right now and she has been bummed because she can't get out to visit family and friends and we can't get in to visit her too much, maybe 1-2 times a month. Not only that but her Wi-Fi isn't the best. So, this app is ideal for people like her since it can be played offline and it has an endless supply of puzzles.

  • Great game! Jan 19, 2019

I haven’t tried a lot of anagram games on my tablet, but of the ones I have this is by far the best. It’s got a clean, intuitive interface, several difficulty levels, and they give you quite a lot of quotes for free. I am also impressed with the selection of quotes – there’s a lot of variety, and the ones I’ve done so far been very well-chosen – I’ve never had that feeling that I sometimes have doing anagrams or acrostics where after finishing it I think “Why did they bother making a puzzle out of this quote?” I’m curious where they’re getting the expert times from, though – those guys must be really really good at cryptograms, because in most cases I’m not even touching their times.

I enjoy cryptogram puzzles. When I do one on paper, I always use a ballpoint pen. With this game, I can correct mistakes easily. Often, the quote is educational as well as entertaing.

I love your Logic Puzzle apps and was so happy to see you had an app for these! It was super intuitive to use, I like how it auto fills the letters while showing the ones that have and haven’t been used. The quote author bio is a nice feature at the end too, I remember always wondering “who is that person?” when I did these as a kid in newspapers and putting the little blurb at the end eliminates me from being tempted to get lost on Wikipedia instead of doing the puzzles to unwind & relax to get ready for bed. It’s perfect, and just wanted to leave a review and say Thank you!

Way too many in-app purchases (and I don't care for the "subscription" option). I personally find a lot of the quotes to be annoying. Otherwise a good game.

At first I was irritated because the cryptoquip from our local paper starts us out with one letter and this one starts you out with ZERO letters. However, I kept coming back to it and I solved a puzzle, then another and another with no hints and I felt a great level of satisfaction. You get a large number free, and can then purchase more sets for just a couple of dollars each. Also has a link to more cool information if you want to follow up after you solve a puzzle. Well done. Thanks!

I play regularly on the Puzzle Baron Site on my PC , and this app is good too. The layout, responsiveness, "used letters" indication are all plus points. But, if you have a tablet PC one may as well play (on the go ) on the Puzzle Baron site ( for free) . This app would be good , if you could price it more competitvely . Suggestion: Make this app available on Facebook Games with in-app purchases. Sell virtual gold coins for hints , etc.

Finally, a challenging, but do-able, cryptogram app that is ad free! There’s a ton of puzzles in the first volume and very reasonably priced volumes available when you complete the first one. I appreciate the time put into this app. I also appreciate that the creator isn’t super greedy like others. Which, just makes apps cost prohibitive in my opinion. It’s very well organized and has various categories to choose from. It also has a nice color scheme. Great job dev!

Really enjoyed this but cant justify spending £2 on every level. Would be easier if when you have entered a wrong word that you can delete the whole word rather than a letter at a time and if you knew the subject of the puzzle would be helpful. Really did enjoy it though good way to kill time

Fun game! These used to be a pain to play in the old days of paper and erasers, ha! This is a great app. My only wish is that there was a “clear errors” button too. Free hints are always awesome, thanks! 👍🏼 Changed my mind on not liking that you can’t save a game in progress. If you switch to another quote, progress is erased. But, they are short, and now it seems like a fresh start may be better. It’s not like they’re too long!

Really, really great! There are lots of puzzle packs that you can buy at an extremely reasonable price; so far I haven't had to buy any as there are TONS of free puzzles to do. VERY challenging, which is good, but not so challenging as to be impossible. One of my favorite apps!!

Consistently crashes my pixel 4a with the newest software update. I haven't been able to open the app at all without it crashing since I got my new phone last week, which is disappointing given how I enjoy playing on occasion.

I happen to enjoy this type of puzzle. Many are not well designed. This one is exceptionally good. Nice features and a huge assortment of subjects. On the negative, I despise the use of a timer timer. As I said, I enjoy these puzzles, but could do without that constant pressure to solve the quickly. To me that takes away a lot of the pleasure of this kind of mental exercise.
  • well-made, good puzzles, love the lack of ads! Jan 17, 2021

I love this app! It’s very straightforward puzzle-solving, no bells and whistles, as many hints as you want, and I haven’t encountered any bugs or hiccups! You get 100 puzzles free with no ads, and after that it’s a very reasonable $2 each for more packs. I’m about to buy a second pack, and figured I should leave a review :)

Enjoyable with increasing challenge. I haven't bought a level, but I'm considering it. Just wish I knew how many levels I get with each purchase. Depending on the answer, it may not be what I consider a good deal, having to pay for each level.

Much better quotes than other apps I’ve tried as a little reward for solving these puzzles. Nice and challenging with stats and difficulty levels. Great to try beating the “expert” times- which are tough enough I still get excited when I do. Love the info on the source of the quotations.

So far I like it. Generally have to get at least one hint but you can maximize it by looking at the frequency in puzzle (good feature) . Wish there were more free puzzles. I would be okay with ads if it meant free puzzles ( which is why I gave it 4 stars- minimal free puzzles)

Very nice set up. Would like to see different types of games such as lists under a main category. And not so much of the famous people and their sayings. More current maybe celebrity sayings or just little stories.

I have enjoyed these puzzles immensely. They provide some good challenges in that they often do not contain readily recognised or high frequency words. It is also rewarding to reveal profound, but not overly cited quotations.

I was really enjoying these until I found one (Euripides) I couldnt solve. When I hit the solve puzzle button, I saw why I couldnt solve it. The spelling was terrible! Still fun but please double check you puzzles for accuracy!!
