The game was a great reason to get together with friends (socially distanced of course). It got us outside and walking around! The riddles and puzzles got us thinking. The kids would have been much more engaged if it was filled with videos instead of so much to read. It was a long game with lots of walking in the heat and humidity.

love love love this game! played once, but would totally play again if it came to town! it's clue meets real life... but digital! ever seen the clue movie? well.. get your walking shoes on because this is a bit like them running from room to room at the end when they show all the scenarios of what could happen. great way to explore your city, and learn fun facts along the way! perfect for the whole family too!! well done!

  • Awesome game but app problems Sep 19, 2020

We loved the storyline and, as always, a super fun day out! The mechanics of the app need some work - in particular, the map was a bit wonky and didn’t function properly. (Location of items and orientation of map.) It would have been nice if the correct answers to riddles were given if you get the question wrong. We love CluedUpp games. Please come back to Charleston soon!

We loved the game overall and we had a lot of fun. The issues: 1. The GPS on all of our phones was a bit jumpy and you would have to go around and around a witness to get it to come up. 2. When we stopped for lunch, we thought the game would pause, as there was a "resume paused game" button from the start menu. Time continued for over an hour while we chatted away at lunch. A clear pause w no time penalty should be allowed for lunch break.the codes for team members began with one saying used

This was my family’s second Clues Upp game and we cannot wait for more to hit our city! It was a lot of fun seeing the other teams running around trying to solve the case as we rushed to get our own clues and beat the clock! I’m so glad they continued it during Covid because we all needed a little outdoor fun!

Very disappointing! Having played a few of these app based games before (HiddenCity etc.) I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there was no guesswork involved, just ticking boxes until you ran out of suspects/patience. It was poorly devised and poorly executed, the search area was so small and the game operated over such a small time frame that all the groups eventually merged into a mob swarming through the narrow streets of Greenwich. The app works well but the game doesn't, avoid!

Too many suspects & places to visit. By the time we gathered all the sites’ information we were brain dead. Processing so much information after walking so many places in the broiling heat was annoying. When we surrendered, the answer who did it did not match the explanation of how it happened.

I completely understand needing to stay in Business, but this was rough. My team literally quit before we could barely even begin because many other teams weren’t social distancing and coming up without masks. I loved the theme, and it seemed like a really cool idea, just not the right time...

Too convoluted, not enough info prior to game, map needed compass, you would literally need to talk to everyone to figure it out. Never could log onto right Facebook page, posted picture but it didn't show up, the entire thing was a waste of time.

The GPS is entirely non-functional on Android, it just keeps telling you the phone isn't reporting GPS. (It is; I checked my maps app. On Apple the GPS reports but is often quite far off where you actually are.) Hopefully this bug can be fixed, as it makes the game unplayable. I was trying to zoom once and suddenly the GPS skipped and my zooming guessed an answer to one of the witnesses, so a surprise 15 minute penalty. The puzzles are . . . basic. If someone says "why yes I found this jar of cyanide in the grass but certainly never used it to murder", then you can just assume cyanide isn't the weapon. Which is fine, and I should have done more research to tell, but it's more an excuse to wander than a difficult puzzle. Witness questions, informants and hints (we tested just to check) are 100% useless, you just need testimony. For all that, it was fun, and if the app actually worked I would do this again.

We played their Sneaky Finders scenario in Pittsburgh and had a great time! I was the only local in my team, but the game brought me to a very neat part of the city that I hadn't seen before. Dressing up isn't necessary but it made everything that much better, and it was really fun taking team photos. I definitely recommend finding a team and solving a mystery with your friends! We're already looking to do it again. Easy to catch on and the clues are easy enough that children won't be left out.

We’ve done two events with CluedUpp and we’ve had a blast both times. App is user friendly, game is super fun, and it’s just an all around great experience. Totally go for it!

Wasn't really sure how the app and the experience together would be, but it was very fun and challenging, not to mention an interesting dive into Real Life Clue (Cluedo). The stories, audio and questions were very fun and engaging. The app did have some connection problems, which logged us out or stopped the app. If you reset it and restart it is fine, but if you want to stay immerged, this takes you out. Otherwise, really loved playing, but wished there was more interaction with other groups.

Had a great day in Oxford playing this. Couldn't hear the videos in general city hubbub, but this didn't stop the fun. App quite glitchy & lost GPS a lot. Wish could pause game for lunch & loo trips. We had several children with us so no way we could be fastest! Story much simpler than expected. We over-complicated our deductions at first, & had to adjust. Witness questions & hints not helpful at all but we still got the right answer. Would certainly play another one. Clever idea.

App was great & the game was easy to start, but I wish the intro video came as a notification in the app when we clicked start. Finding witnesses- straightforward and I enjoyed the riddles needed to access them. The videos looked cool but ultimately we went with reading transcripts because it was too noisy outside. What we didn't like: asking witness questions was useless. Every one got us "no" or "I don't know". Agree with another comment-treat this game like a logic puzzle. Then it's fun!

App worked well. Could use a better help section (including Game Rules/FAQs) and some QoL improvements. No quick way to go back to Map view from the List view. "Hidden" witnesses don't show up on the Map view after you find them (they are available in the List view). Game is very reliant on GPS, would like to see marker boundaries relaxed for markers around tall buildings.

It was definitely a lot of fun playing but the app has some issues. My team had it solved from the beginning but it said we were wrong. So we racked up time penalties using hints and trying any other solution. We finally went back after adding 6.5 hours to our time and tried the solution again to find out we were right the whole time. Frustrating. Still fun though.

Game is fun and clues are great. The app interface is a bit confusing at times and the GPS integration leaves a lot to be desired consistently not working even on new pho es with all the settings based on their recommendations. you end up walking up and down the street like a crazy person until it finally suddenly works. other than that it is a fun game.

The experience is fun, simple but fun as you walk around the city taking to virtual witnesses to determine the killer and weapon. Yet the app needs some work. It's not easy to go in and out of the main menus and you have to go back into each witness to see all your hints or informants, no way to see just a summary. You also can't see what you already guesses and the app makes mistakes bringing up the same error message multiple times, most notably the GPS is terrible.

The concept of the game this app goes with is great, but the app itself is super buggy. Not even 5 minutes in and my GPS wasn't being read despite following the instructions including high accuracy mode. It also frequently failed to pop up witnesses or bonus when we were standing right on top of it. I'm not sure how they picked the area to play in (Edmonton) but it was a giant construction site, with one if the witnesses in a restricted area. All that said I'd do it again.

The idea is fun but the map often didn’t unlock the witness despite my tag being directly on the witness label, making me forfeit time to see the clues.

This is the second CluedUpp game we have played as a team. We follow the directions, but the app freezes up continually. Afterwards today it would not allow the leader to submit our suspect or weapon. This is the last time we play this game
