  • Awesome, but a little creeped out. Apr 8, 2019

This is now my favorite app. I have just finished 'And The Sun Went Out', and I adored (and slightly hated) the ending. Though I could go into much detail and all the things I loved, I shall not spoil the ending for new comers to this lovely game. Though, I'm a wimp. I get really scared really easily. When I tapped on 'And their Souls were eaten' it said I had to be 13 or older to play this game. I'm 12. I'm slightly scared what I'll encounter when I start this next game when I turn 13. If I get nightmares (which doesn't happen often), I'm deleting the app, but overall, amazing game. I have a few issues to report. First: Sometimes I press a certain choice, and it does the opposite one. I was in a collapsing building and it gave me the option to save someone or run away. I chose 'Save someone', but it had me run away instead. I do not know if this is the actual consequence that happens, or it is actually a glitch. Second: You have spelled a few things wrong. Minor things, really, but I have noticed you spelled 'please' as 'pleaes' and 'on' as 'en'. Not that big a deal, though. This game makes the characters come to life. The wording is amazing, the choices are tough (especially in the end), and the whole aspect of the game is incredible. I am very much excited to be playing 'And Their Souls Were Eaten' and 'And Their Heroes Were Lost'. Great job, Tin Man Games!! ((Etienne and Moti 4 life.)) Sincerely, LupinLover15

Overall, I really enjoyed the first storyline--"And the Sun Went Out"--and I'm curious to see what the others are like. There were a few moments in playing where I was confused by information that I wasn't sure I'd learned before, but that could be because of the length of the story! I also felt some of the choices were a bit arbitrary in light of how many tickets I had to use, but that didn't bug me much since I usually farmed tickets while doing something else. Worth a download for sure!

This app is just perfect. It encompasses 3 stories right now. I read “and their heroes were lost” first before going back to “and the sun went out.” I love how you get so many choices. Sometimes, you don’t have the information to make an educated choice, and I love that because it’s how the situation would actually be in you were there. The writers really carve out a realistic and believable world for the stories. The music is suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also loved the fact that you can watch a ton of ads to get 3 tickets which is very generous. Although some may say the interface isn’t developed enough as other episodic games, I actually love the simple interface more. It lets you concentrate on the story, the plot, and your imagination rather than cementing how people or situations look. I like a little imaginative space. Nothing but rave compliments for this app!! Definitely buy if you love CYOA games!

I've just finished "And Their Heroes Were Lost" which is fan-f@#&ing-tastic. Worth every penny. A four because I haven't yet read the other stories, and the ending of "And Their Heroes Were Lost" was not the greatest. (Update: just replayed with different choices. 5 stars, hands down) Still very good story(ies) and highly recommended.

  • An incredible app, with magnificently well-written stories! Jul 28, 2020

When I first downloaded the app, I had been let down my so many others that my expectations were set low. I started with “And Their Souls Were Eaten,” and had my expectations blown entirely out of the water. The stories are immersive, well-written, and allow you choices that actually impact the story without bringing about death and destruction to your party. The characters are lovely, usually all charming in their own right whilst being entirely different people. My favorite part about, at least, “And Their Souls Were Eaten,” is the lack of defining characteristics that the main character is given. You are free to be whatever you’d like in the story, without gender labels—a feature most apps usually miss the mark on.

Some good storytelling with interesting choices that influence what happens. The soul story seems really interesting. 4 stars because the soul stories ending got a bit chaotic and farsical after such a tightly woven build up and not every choice seems to play out correctly but that would be tricky given the amount of them!

It's nice but sometimes I feel like the result I got from a choice could also fit the alternative one. Which makes me feel like the choices don't always "matter" much.

I immediately found myself lost in the stories this game has to offer. It's a really good interactive experience with each decision feeling like it impacts the game in a meaningful way. My only complaint is the amount of ads I had to watch to progress at a faster rate through the stories. I love that the ads didn't really disturb the gameplay though and I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking for a choose your own adventure type thing.

  • Amazing game Dec 21, 2017

This app has great stories that keep you engaged as long as you have "choice tickets". They allow you to make a decision and progress the story. You can purchase them or get free ones every few hours. I'm totally fine with this system (gotta make a profit somehow). I like to hoard up a bunch of free tickets and then get to binge read. I was saving them up again and had 18 of them but after I updated the app they got reset. Oh well. This is still one of the best text adventure stories that I have found though!

I've competed the sun went out, which was a great, original story. There were some plot holes with the path I took, but they weren't horrible. I do feel the free intro credits are too short to give a good litmus of whether the story has a good hook and recommend the first arc should be completely free. You have so many decision points (a good thing), that the 3 daily and watch video credits get you almost nowhere. I ended up buying the game outright, after initially buying an extra 100 credits.
