CBS NCAA bracket complaint
Mar 20, 2021 By Rob DoughtyI belong to a group that has used the CBS NCAA bracket for years during the tournament. The 2021 version is a step backwards from previous seasons. Our biggest complaint, though not the only, is that the ability to send messages within the group is no longer available. We normally have some relatively lively trashtalk going on several threads. This year there is no option for that, in fact the app has been slimmed down substantially imo. more -

PERFORMS WELL EVOUGH TO SEND ME USELESS TEXTS AND DISPLAY EVERY ADD, BUT NOT THE SUPERBOWL
Feb 7, 2021 By DH CIs practically impossible to even leave a rating for this app. In the first half of Super Bowl LV I've seen every commercial, one field goal and one extra point. The three touchdowns proved impossible to veiw, which is even more pathetic considering my 5G ISP is one of the advertisers. Perhaps I'll be able to see who wins on it, but I doubt it. My first Superbowl view in 30 years, and my last on CBS. more -

Apr 29, 2022 By Brooke GladsonBest sports app out there in my opinion. I've tried using theScore and ESPN and they are both loaded with unnecessary info that makes it hard to find what you need. This app organizes everything so well and always has the things I'm looking for as soon as I open the app. Bonus points on the NFL Draft board. I'm super impressed by it and it's the reason I decided to finally review the app. Overall very impressed and I'm glad I found it. more -
Bracket problems
Mar 27, 2021 By grw1881I don’t like the changes this year. I’m a manager and I couldn’t find access to information before the brackets locked. It was hard for some of my members to log in and I couldn’t help. It wasn’t clear how you could use the sample brackets. Once the brackets locked I couldn’t make changes for players as I could in the past. I sent a question to the help desk and never got a response other than an acknowledgment of receipt. I didn’t like the ways the brackets displayed. I like seeing the whole bracket at once. The having to click multiple times on regions was just annoying and made the tournament seem fractured. Ii made it hard to keep track of how teams were doing. I didn’t like the check and the “x”, you had to keep digging to find the team names. I didn’t like that you could submit your bracket without completing it. I had a couple of players who didn’t realize they hadn’t completed there brackets. I didn’t like the new version at all. more -

11.0 is a step back.
Feb 16, 2021 By DealagainI echo wllmh25 comments in their entirety. And I am very disappointed in the response. Fortunately, with a couple of clicks you can get back to the individual sports similar to what it used to be. This has been my go to sports app for years. And for my buddies as well. But 11.0 disappoints us all. My sports are golf and college fb and mbb. I don’t know when it happened, but the golf player details are abbreviated even more. We miss the college and hometown info for each player. Why was it dropped. I know others are now likely looking for a new go to app. If you find one I hope you will post it. I’m going to watch the reviews for a better go to app recommendation. The Score comes close as it has score history and better golf bios and you can look at individual sports. more -
Nov 11, 2018 By A Google userGreat content and layout, but accessing the content always a challenge, regardless if I an using the Wifi or cellular. The transition from the notification to the actual content is always clunky at best. I don't have this issue with other apps. Sometimes, I will get a notification from this app on a story, but then get so tired of waiting for the content to load that I will research the story on another app. more -

Aug 23, 2021 By ODA3312I've backed off of watching & using ESPN's app & networks bc I'm not a Racist & never been! It was hard explaining to a 10 yr old what a racist was when he loved so many Black Athletes & wore their Jersey & shoes! See ESPN was pushing the racist crap as if all whites were racist & I was raised by a father that loved sports & the fact that black athletes worked hard to be good at sports, he never saw racism on the field or court if he did he'd let you know! I have so many Black friends from play sports but ESPN forced me to find another place to get my information! I glad bc CBS is so much better more details even better streaming! more -
Was great…
Dec 11, 2021 By Slickvic621The CBS Sports app was my sports app of choice, but the latest update has relegated it back to the mean…the removal of preferred leagues (conferences? Can’t remember what it was titled) for NCAA sports is a step back IMO - this feature allowed better customization of what you want to see. I like the ability to tap the header bar to jump between conferences, but my request would be to add an option within the conference list to be the legacy ‘my leagues’ among the top 25 and specified conferences. This simple feature made CBS Sports the app of choice, even though it’s missing many other sports scores that it’s competitors include integrated (like NCAAW, NCAA Baseball, etc.). The removal of this ‘my leagues’ option drops its score back below that of competitors. Please consider this as an option, until then, I’ll have to use other apps. more -
Oct 16, 2021 By Ryan WillinghamMost of the time the app is loading. It will cut away from a game even on 3rd or 4th down, no matter the situation to show an add. The games are almost impossible to watch bc, even with 5g full service, you get about 5 to 7 seconds of video and 10 to 15 seconds of buffering. It's funny however that none of the endless adds ever have a buffering problem. If you try to close the video and open it again to fix the problem you have to sit through adds before it will load the game. more

Mar 25, 2022 By Andy LunsfordStreaming through this app is an absolute nightmare, wanted to watch a World Cup Qualifier through the app, but had to exit and re-enter the app every 2 minutes when it froze. Unable to drop quality to see if that was the issue, but speed test on my phone confirmed that WiFi connection wasn't the issue. Serious connectivity issues need to be figured out with streaming games. more -
Oct 12, 2018 By A Google userUsed to be a real good sports reporting app. Within sometime in August / September 2018, some update has now made the app drain the batteries on both an iPhone & Android phone that I have. And it seems that the app is always pulling a lot of data constantly, even during a 5 minute read of an article. The power drain was so great that both phones got quite warm all around in about a 10 - 15 minute period. I do not know what what done, but I had to uninstall the app from both phones, which are two different operating systems. Please fix!!! more -
2021 update
Jan 15, 2021 By Willmh25I loved the CBS Sports app. Been using it for years to check scores, updates, standings, and schedules of all of my favorite sports and teams. It was so easy to manage and use. Fast, live updates of games made the play-by-play enjoyable. Then CBS Sports decides to turn my world upside down and change everything about their app. The new layout is so much worse now. With a calendar format it’s hard to find when my teams are playing since I don’t know what day they are playing on, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. There’s no longer standings and rankings tabs for leagues/conferences. I liked this app way better when it was organized by each individual sports league/association and once in that sub link, there are tabs for scores, teams, rankings, news, stats, etc. Choosing to organize all sports under each day is just silly as it’s too much to take in at once when I’m trying to focus on one sport at a time. I usually don’t make app reviews but felt it was appropriate after CBS Sports just really messed up their app and probably lost a user more -
Dec 8, 2018 By A Google userCompletely sucks. I downloaded to watch the Army-Navy game. Video kept freezing up. Then it would start playing again but a big box would cover the screen that says 'unable to play video'. Tons of commercials. Every time I would restart, I would have to watch 3 or 4 commercials (which strangely played just fine every time ) but then when the game came back on, it would freeze up again. This app sucks ... no other word for it. more -
One of the worst sports apps available.
Aug 29, 2020 By bippy_bWhile this app does have some redeeming features such as its ability to report some high school football scores .. the app lacks so many controls present in other apps. Despite the fact that I don’t follow PGA or any golfers at all, I continually get updates for golfing and how golfing is available on the CBS Sports subscription. And it doesn’t stop with golf. I get tennis updates too that I don’t care for. It’s one thing if a golfer breaks the record for wins at The Masters. I get that. That is transcending sports news. But to get updates that “Rory McElroy is in the lead with a -2” when I don’t follow him.. I don’t follow the PGA.. I don’t follow any golfers, tennis players, The Masters, Shell Open, Australian Open, Wimbledon or anything related to golf/tennis it becomes frustrating that the app is wasting your battery and time with alerts about things you didn’t suggest as something you like. I’m sure it isn’t the devs fault.. probably some suit upstairs.. but I want it to be known to the suit that it isn’t appreciated. more -
Dec 21, 2018 By A Google userI love the notification part of the app. Shows scores and news notifications in a timely and concise manner. However, when I go to view a story, I can read some of it and then the horrible programming of their ads blacks out my screen on my tablet forcing me to exit without reading the story or seeing the ad. So the worst of both worlds essentially. Don't get so fancy that the bulk of your audience can't view the content somehow. Therefore, uninstalling the app. more -
Has Poor QA/QC
Sep 29, 2018 By DidwardThere are a lot of good things about this app such as the box scores and the fact that they have lesser know sports like college baseball. However, it can be very buggie. Often times taking you to a blank white screen instead of players profiles whenever you press on there name. I also think this app suffers from bad QA/QC. Such as the “Tweet” section of baseball game going days at a time without being updated. So you’re looking at a Twins v Indians game and the tweets from both teams are from two days prior. Additionally, the college football score board often times can be incorrect. I watched WV and Texas Tech go into half time 35-10, yet the score in the app was 40-13. It was weird because the score summary correctly documented each scoring drive, but the score still remained incorrect. I often get notification for college football games such as a 1 point touchdown or a 9 point field goal. It’s all very confusing. Due to these quality issues, I have decided to go to the Four Letter and will probably never return to CBS. more

MLB alerts arriving late
Apr 1, 2018 By RZedI really enjoy the app, though some features are confusing, such as setting up favorites and seeing the scores for those teams. Baseball season is underway, but game alerts are arriving very late. Currently watching Orioles/Twins game in the top of the third inning and just received the alert that the game was starting, though Twins are leading 6-0. Last night, hours after the game ended, received the notification that the game ended. This seems to be limited to MLB, as Final Four, NHL, and NBA alerts arrive timely, though sometimes duplicate notifications are received. My app and iOS are up-to-date on an iPad less than six months old. more -
Dec 30, 2021 By zander costonLegitimately impressed with how well it's layed out! It has the best UI out of every sports news app I've tried so far, and it makes it very easy to keep up with many scores from many different sports. Everything is very intuitive. It provides ample stats for every team from every sport imaginable. It does have one persistent banner ad at the bottom which can get in the way. (but with a little dns magic, its totally gone!) Overall: I love it, great job guys. more -
Quite nice app
Jul 23, 2021 By schwarztechI was sick of the ESPN app logging me out or being buggy and checked out a few alternatives. So far, I really like the no-nonsense display of scores and customization for the order of leagues and teams. With MLB, NWSL (few others have it or have it updated), and NBA covered, the only league missing for me is the WNBA, which seems like it should be the added since games are carried on CBS Sports Network. Any chance this can be added to a future update? Update (7/23): They added WNBA support and the app continues to be really good. I've added a star because I have no complaints. more -
A VERY HANDY SPORTS APP! LOVE IT!
Dec 26, 2020 By Kimmy11kayThe CBS SPORTS app is a very handy app to have and use as a sports fan. I like when this app covers ALL major sports. I like when I am able to check on scores of football, basketball, baseball and other sports. I also like when the app has a news feature to keep me posted of news which pop up around the sports world. The CBS SPORTS app is my all-in-one sports app that I have enjoyed so far and I have it on all of my devices. I plan to keep and use this app for a very long time. I recommend this app to other sports fanatics out there. Thank you, CBS, for your awesome app! more -
I love to see all my favorite teams play especially the Golden State Warriors.
Nov 18, 2017 By RhogloTo be able to keep up with the different teams that I love in the competition against the Warriors and to know when they are playing is a blessing for me. I am sometimes challenged by what channel on DirecTV the game will be on and sometimes get Miss information on the time the game begins. Over all, to hear the news of the players on the team and what is happening with so many teams it is quite the blessing to stay on top of all the many teams and players that I so appreciate and admire. Thank you and God bless you! more

NCAA Women’s Basketball coverage is a joke
Dec 21, 2021 By UA Jen PDear CBS Sports, Can you please join the 21st Century and recognize that Women’s sports are as interesting, if not more so, than Men’s sports? We follow our Alma Mater, the University of Arizona, for Football and Men’s Basketball. Our Women’s team is doing great things this year and we want to be more informed of what they are doing. Unfortunately, when you open Women’s Basketball, the app still shows the tournament schedule from last March. You can’t make a team a favorite, and it’s nearly impossible to find schedules or news articles. How about you start providing equitable coverage so all our college athletes can get the coverage they deserve? more

Our biggest complaint, though not the only, is that the ability to send messages within the group is no longer available. We normally have some relatively lively trashtalk going on several threads. This year there is no option for that, in fact the app has been slimmed down substantially imo. more -
Nov 11, 2018 By A Google userGreat content and layout, but accessing the content always a challenge, regardless if I an using the Wifi or cellular. The transition from the notification to the actual content is always clunky at best. I don't have this issue with other apps. Sometimes, I will get a notification from this app on a story, but then get so tired of waiting for the content to load that I will research the story on another app. more -
Was great…
Dec 11, 2021 By Slickvic621The CBS Sports app was my sports app of choice, but the latest update has relegated it back to the mean…the removal of preferred leagues (conferences?
If you try to close the video and open it again to fix the problem you have to sit through adds before it will load the game. more -
Sep 10, 2021 By Shan PriceUsing it for the football pool is a complete pain in the neck now. I have to click on 5 different things just to get to my pool, then much if the screen is filled with the header and ads. I liked it much better a few years ago, it opened right up to my football pool and it was easier to use Other than that, it does give me a good opportunity to follow other teams or sports, so that's worth something, I guess more

I usually don’t make app reviews but felt it was appropriate after CBS Sports just really messed up their app and probably lost a user more -
One of the worst sports apps available.
Due to these quality issues, I have decided to go to the Four Letter and will probably never return to CBS. more -
Jan 14, 2021 By John Wahl1-14-21: I think the new app design is really good for the most part. When you adjust the settings for the order of the scores of the sports leagues you see, it will still show it in alphabetical order. So, the NBA appears as the first sport unless you delete the NBA or any other league scores entirely based on alphabetical order. The previous version allowed you to adjust the leagues you see in the order you prefer to see them. There is still no sports scores widget! I used to recommend more -
Jan 14, 2021 By Melissa RossiI cannot believe it!!!! This app has to be the worst I have ever used!!!! All I am getting now is oops try again or having technical issues try again at a later time. How much later?? This is the second day and still can't get on!! When I discus the problem, which the tech team is very quick with help, I get the same answer.. turn off modem uninstall app then install app. I have other apps with no difficulty at all. Even the free apps are great. I'm paying 5.99 a month for an app I can't use!! more -
Barely functional
Sep 22, 2019 By SubicmanI’ve been using this app for several years and I can’t believe that it gets continually worse every update. It’s barely functional in its current state, sure you can get information in its basic format but you are constantly bombarded with ads and errors. Baseball season is almost over and they finally got the news feed working, it’s 9/17. Football season starts, suddenly all teams news pages go blank, really? Then when you can get an article to load it’s broken up and even has sections covered by freaking ads. I think I’m finally just going to uninstall and find something else that works. If they would reduce the ads by half I could give it 3 stars but its just too much greed trying to pack all the ads in. The sad part is that the ads never fail to load unlike the information you’re looking for. more -
Dec 23, 2019 By A Google userWhen the app works, everything is wonderful. When it doesn't work, the app is terrible. Most of the time it works. Sometimes your scores take multiple minutes to load, and sometimes they don't load at all. Sometimes the NFL gamecast refreshes automatically as it's supposed to, sometimes it doesn't. more -
App used to be decent
May 5, 2019 By SUPER10RjThis app used to be a refreshing alternative to ESPN. It gave solid coverage of the latest sports news and provided a well organized and consistent browsing experience. Not anymore. My beef with this all are threefold. 1. The app has punched me with ads recently. Clicking to watch a 20s video now has a 15-30 second ad attached. Bad form. 2. The app is on the level of spam with the number of notifications I'm getting without first opting in. 3. Stability. The app now freezes EVERY time I launch it somewhere between 1-3 minutes in. This means I browse to an interesting article, only to have the app hang. I then restart and am unable to find the article. I've gotten tired of only reading the first half of articles. I guess it's back to ESPN... more -
Aug 24, 2021 By h guerraCan't manage the pool from the app, you can only use a browser, which means logging in to a computer if you have to conduct commissioner's duties. The app will not open directly to the pick em pool anymore, you have to navigate a few menus to get there. Can't post to the message board via the app. Other than that, the app makes it easy to make picks, look at injuries, and do other matchup analysis. more

My first Superbowl view in 30 years, and my last on CBS. more -

Recent update to the app is terrible
Jan 16, 2021 By Joe HeaphyThe new format is awful. All sports are on one page and there is very little delineation between the games, they all blend together. Used to be a great app, after the recent update, its useless. -
Mar 25, 2022 By Andy LunsfordStreaming through this app is an absolute nightmare, wanted to watch a World Cup Qualifier through the app, but had to exit and re-enter the app every 2 minutes when it froze.
Please fix!!! more -
Dec 8, 2018 By A Google userCompletely sucks. This app sucks ... no other word for it. more -
Jan 11, 2020 By A Google userAlways experiencing technical difficulties to watch live TV. Tried to use the app to watch live TV with my cable provider account many times over the past 2 weeks and still doesn't work. Every single time it's experiencing technical difficulties. I didn't want to review this app badly, but it truly deserves it. Funny thing, I had a friend create a temporary new account and everything worked fine. I guess when you pay for it, that's when it struggles. more -
Apr 11, 2021 By christopher burgetStreaming video works for about a minute before buffering, stuttering, then stopping completely. Nine months ago it was a problem, and it has only gotten worse. College football, then March Madness, and now the Masters. Hardly ever worked right, no matter the connection and updates and reboots. I know live streams are tricky, and many apps have issues from time to time, but this is maddening! more -
Possibly the worst sports app available.
Oct 23, 2021 By SPM21BuckyI have trouble with ESPN playing videos sometimes, but I can live with that. I can’t tell you how many times CBS Sports sends out an update with the wrong information. How many times I’ve seen a Dodger update where the final score was a tie…and it’s been happening in the playoffs, which blows my mind. I’ve had other apps, ESPN, ABC News, CNN put out an incorrect notification, then a few minutes later send an update or correction. CBS Sports admit to a mistake and give a correct score? Not happening. Then there are the typos or maybe it’s just poor reporting. The other day the headline was about the Raiders new head coach. Within the first three words of the article they were talking about the head coach of the Ravens, lol, seriously?! I WISH I could post screen shots. Stick with ESPN for your sports, the videos may not always play properly, but at least they get scores right. more -
No Control Over Notifications
Mar 4, 2021 By sfbrianLiked the app until I started receiving alerts for everything, not just my favorite teams. According to their customer support, this is an Editorial Staff decision on breaking news and ongoing stories (see below). To stop this over saturation their suggestion is to disable each of my Team News alerts and/or disable all notification for the app. There are other options for my sporting new on the teams I follow. Needless to say I have deleted this app. “If you have disabled all notifications (League News, Gambling & Odds, Fantasy, Draft, Top Stories) within the CBS Sports app, but have Team News enabled for your My Teams/Favorites, then you may still receive some league (e.g. NFL, NBA, NCAA, etc) notifications. This is based on our Editorial Staff deeming breaking news or an ongoing story worthy of a notification for some or all teams for a certain league.” more
