  • Was a Good App for A Long Time Until... Apr 30, 2020

    By JoeHef
I used this app for many years and enjoyed it. Then one day....... it stopped working on my watch. I tired diligently to fix the iss. I would try and log in to the watch and found that it had a weird email address, one that I had never owned. I logged out and logged back in and when I look at who I was logging in as, same strange. I was loyal so I waited, thinking it’s a bug and it will be fixed. Three months later no charge. I give up. Moved to a new program, Anylist, and deleted Bring! If you have the same problem I suggest you do the same. Guessing Bring! Decided to save a little money on development and broke something that they don’t know how to fix.

Very easy to set up and use. The pictures make it easier to keep track of and recognise what's on your list(s). If you're neurodivergent (autistic, ADHD, etc) and you're looking for a good app for shopping lists, I fully reccomend this. Room for Improvement: Wider range of items that aren't food (eg: kitchen utensils, stationary, basic clothing items).

Bring is a very inventive and design friendly application that looks to fill all of one’s shopping list needs. To start off the design itself is creative with an artiste flair and colorful backdrop. The app is easy to navigate and use with a simple touch allowing users to use the default lists provided or create their own. Adding items to the lists are easy with a simple tap to an item that is listed in the provided category. I have yet to test the extensive database but items that are presented can be detailed with more information relevant to how you shop. Instead of manual entry Siri can be used to add items making the process as simple as can be. The app also works as a sounding board for recipes you want to make for certain occasions with a section tailored for inspirations. What makes the app even more special is the social element of it being tailored to serve as the source list for everybody in your network whether it be family, friends, housemates, etc. At a moment’s notice anybody could be alerted to what’s needed or what is available in the home.

Like many people, I am frustrated with the recent changes to the user interface. Now it takes 1 or 2 extra clicks to add each item after typing. You have to press Done each time, and "refine" buttons (voluntary) before that. It's seldom that I need to refine an item, and I can press and hold the item if I want to do that. The Done button does nothing if you have finished typing the item (you have to click the item first). The typed item should be the first suggestion in the list, not the last.

My fiancé and I were using GroceryIQ, and the reason for the switch was so he could use a grocery list on his smart watch. I was skeptical of both the reason for switching (!?!?) and this new app, but was willing to give it a try. It’s been a pleasant surprise! The interface is cleaner, the interactions intentionally designed, making it fun as well as functional. The list is replaced with icons instead of text, and changes the shopping list into a bingo card like table for you to click through. You can customize items and lists, and there is still groupings per aisle/section. I like the Inspiration feature, which has recipes which you can simply add all items to your list. You can add your own recipes too, another plus. Only drawback ( which could easily be fixed in a future update) would be that recipes show up in metrics. Not a dealbreaker, but choice of units would be nice

I have used Bring for years, and find it one of the most useful apps I have. However, the new UI redesign has really disappointed me. When you redesign an Android app with an iOS layout it becomes a frustration for Android users since it doesn't match the layout and interaction with the rest of the apps on their device. It's a small, but frustrating, adjustment every time I open the app.

Very bad choice of putting the search bar at the bottom. Does not make sense, plus I am getting an annoying bug when I press one icon after I put it in my shopping cart, and the whole list gets refreshed, items are misaligned, empty slots in the list and scrolling is moved to a random position in the list. NOT HAPPY!!

  • Help save lives, bring back old Watch app! Apr 25, 2020

    By Mr. Daniel A.
I transitioned to the standalone Watch app and it doesn’t have the same level of detail it used to have have when it synced with the iPhone app. Adding items from the watch is frustrating and I don’t even know which password I’m supposed to be using to log into the Bring Web site. The old app wasn’t only convenient, it was safe. COVID-19 is running rampant in my city and I don’t want to risk infecting my phone by having to hold it in one hand to see the shopping details I need while I get groceries and push the cart with the other. It’d be easier to look at all the information on my watch and check off items as I go and then only have to wipe the Watch screen once I’m done. I can’t be the only one who is begging you, please make the new app continue to have the option to sync to the phone, give people the means to do things one way or the other.

I don't like the UI redesign. you say screens getting bigger and thumbs not being able to reach the whole screen. seriously? yes screens got bigger and now the card icons are 3x2 Thumbs in size which makes no sense. Also: you mange to show 3 new items on the initial screen, with scrolling 3x6 items, so 90% I need to search items (by typing) which is the fastest but the search box is now too small and you only manage to display 6 items in this mode. Please improve to speed me up.

I used to love bring, but the new changes are not very user friendly. I am unable to add a new item, only the current items can be used. I will stop using bring if it stays like it is! All my own items were dropped. Bad programming!!

  • Great app!! Dec 11, 2020

    By agrisan.georgiana
I don’t usually take time to review apps but I feel like I have to with this one. I didn’t even realized it’s been 2 years since I’ve been using it on a weekly basis. I’ve tried before this app using google docs, notes, other apps but none of them lasted until I found Bring! I was looking for an app that I can share it with someone. I found it! Now with my partner or when we had a trip with friends to have one shopping list, divide in the store, get what we need and meet at the register. Not only we saved money, trees(paperless shopping list) but also a lot of time. Even this year when we had to stay home. We would go grocery shopping once every 2 weeks. So we would start the shopping list and add things to it whenever we would think of something. If my partner would go shopping and I would be at home, I remember something I would just add it quickly to the list and he would be notified. It’s honestly an amazing app and it improved my life! I also shared if with my friends and now they are all using it and they are impressed how great it is just as I am. Great job Switzerland!

  • Common sense seems to have been lost Jun 13, 2019

    By Skip113
In looking at all the different things one can use “Bring” for. The most glaring issue is while u can take a picture u can not use it anywhere in the app unless u are in settings. It can not be used as an Icon???. What is the point of taking a pic that one cannot use in the app. This obvious lack of common sense by the developer needs to be fixed. It is just plain stupid. The app seems to have new bugs also. Changing or adding things is suddenly more difficult . I would not recommend in its current state. It has incredible potential but it needs a good dose of common sense.

  • One of the absolute best productivity apps out there! Sep 18, 2017

    By Les Geurin
Just like everyone else in the world we an extremely busy couple. The ability to maintain a functioning up to the second shopping list is a lifesaver. We don't just use this groceries. Business supplies, maintenance supplies, building materials, medications. Anything you or your family can potentially purchase can be made into a list. Such a timesaver. We are sure there are still more uses that we have not tapped into as of yet. Thank you for this app. I think everyone that uses apps will find this one one of the most productive there is that truly benefits the family!

  • Fantastic Shopping App Dec 11, 2018

All four family members use this app. With the Alexa integration you just ask her to add something to your list. Then when you are at the store, you just tap them away when they’re in your basket. All of our iPhones and the web app synchronized almost immediately when an item is added or removed. When you create your own items, they stick around for a while. Eventually they work their way down the list and disappear. I wish there was a way to save them permanently. Other than that, the app is simply beautiful.

Great app, would be 5 star (used to be 5 star) but the most recent update makes the response really sluggish. Tapping items off the list takes 1-1.5 seconds. Sometimes something is added that I didn't specify (vegan chocolate of all things). Motorola G6, running Android ver 9. I'm still going to use the app in the hope that the next build improves response times.

good shopping app. it'll try to assign an icon auomatically to a new item added. what i don't like is, sometimes the auto picked icon is wrong and misleading, and it looks we are not possible to remove the icon. sometimes no icon is better than a wrong icon, item name is good enough if there is no good icon can be selected.

  • Good app, one irritating issue May 16, 2019

    By Bit3Me69
Maybe I’m the only one with this issue, whenever I have multiple items with the same word, like ‘flour’ or ‘chips’ it guesses the multiple items are the same thing when taking a pic. Example, I added 2 different types of chocolate chips, one was triple chip the other peanut butter/milk chocolate chip, after I take the pic it changes anything with the words ‘chocolate chip’ to the same pic. Same with the word ‘flour’. I have to change wording so it thinks, no more like the only way it can see, it’s different products. Really irritating 😠

Was a brilliant 5 star app until they changed it. The entry bar is now inconveniently at the bottom and entering new items seems so much more difficult than it was. The Done button also does not do what you expect. A seriously retrograde step. If you want specific advice about the search bar, just put it back to exactly how it was.

  • Needs more flexibility May 6, 2018

    By Brat920
I really like this app for it’s ease of use, but there needs to be more flexibility with the preset categories and preset items to be purchased. I would like to be able to change list categories that work for my grocery store and my shopping style, i.e. I would like change “Household & Health” to 2 or 3 separate categories. Cleaners, personal care items, and pharmacy are in 3 separate areas of the grocery store. I would also like to be able to delete preset items that I never use. This would clear some of the visual clutter as I add my own items to the list. I would also like to be able to clear the recently used list. If I buy a one-off item I don’t really need to see it in that category. Hopefully some of these issue will be addressed in a future upgrade.

Latest version is less user friendly, and more company friendly! What used to be a large, easy-to-access, on-top-of-the-screen entry bar, is now being squeezed to the bottom, and it's thin and hard to touch. This way you are much more likely to hit one of the 3 lower buttons (recipes, products....) which are essentially about marketing etc.. Not happy.

I hate the new upgrades. I don't need the shopping suggestions, they are very annoying. The new search is too small and too busy. I would give 4 stars for the old version, but 2 for this one. P.S. how much more specific can we get? I'm reading through the reviews and totally agreeing with all the very specific criticism people are giving (yet the canned response asks for more specificity???) Really?

  • Cool UI but lackluster options Jan 28, 2019

    By FDV8
Not sure why so many people are giving this a high rating. There are way more user friendly shopping list apps out there. With that said... the user interface is very cool and love the sleek feel and the large icons. However the lack of customization with the lists is a deal breaker. The isles are small and there are way more isles in grocery stores then what’s allowed here. And also we should be able to edit the isle names and be able to add additional isles. This is standard amongst many shopping list apps. Will consider checking this out again if they ever decide to include those options. But for now there are way better options out there.

I fully understand that the app is advert driven. So far so good. But recently it became too much. My categories and lists are flooded with sponsored products which I am not interested in. Makes it difficult and time consuming to chose/pick my own items. Remove this rubbish and you'll again get five stars.

The recent update is pure horror and renders the app entirely useless: Not only do I not know if the item landed on the shopping list, it slows down the phone extremely and keeps the app crashing. Completetely ruined a once helpful app. Wife hates the update also. We are looking for alternatives. Still hope they will fix the horrible bugs from the update.

I don’t know if you have to start charging a little bit of money for the app so you can hire someone to spend time on making it less irritating or what??? Such time wasted just trying to edit an item, create a new item, or edit a newly-created item. Sooo easy to unintentionally remove an item from your list while just trying to edit or without even knowing you've done it. Should have a list of regularly-purchased items to choose from. Should be much more user-friendly. When I’m motivated to get things done, I need my tools to work. To Creators: You must have no idea. HAND THIS APP TO YOUR TECH-SAVVY, EFFICIENT NEIGHBOR AND GIVE THEM FULL PERMISSION TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH. They’ll think it’s ridiculous and a waste of their time.
