  • New update destroyed my app! I paid for this app years ago. Sep 10, 2019

By mad my bridge app stolen
I paid for this bridge app years ago but when I did the latest update The whole app no longer is accessible!!!!!!!! Your update did not say that or I would not have updated. It only said you need iOS 10.0 or better and my iOS is 10.3.3. Can you remove this update and give me back the old version? Thank you for taking the time to explain the problem to me! You have been remarkably nice and I appreciate it! I am just really going to miss this bridge app! Hopefully Santa will bring me a new non-obsolete iPad! Again, thank you so much!

The tournament results could have been posted faster to know where we stand during the tournament and whether we received bonus point or lost our entry fee. In fact, very often the results weren't announced at all while the entry fee was gone. Could you explain why the announcements were so late and even some weren't posted at all??? This makes me lost excitement of not knowing my score among the other players.

I have found this an excellent program for a beginner to practice bridge. The program has excellent flexibility in allowing you to go back to review play, or to deal a new hand if you don't want to play the hand that you were dealt. The application also has excellent flexibility in allowing you to choose the appearance of the cards and of the playing table. Thank you for giving us an excellent and free bridge application.

Great for practicing play, sadly a little limiting on the convention options. Still, great for passing time on the train.

I used this program to improve my game and I learned a lot. Then I bought it just to play for fun. The purchased version had no real improvements or even differences, except that the ads filled the screen after nearly every hand and, if there was no close button, I had to quit the game and restart. I was disappointed. Also, the random card generator is not very random, and nearly the same hands are repeated over and over. I still play once in awhile but get bored quickly. The format is great...that's what brings me back.

Why my partner is playing against me? Most of the time the opponents get the best card, that I can get. But my own partner will bid unnecessarily high and then lose the game is not understandable. I bid for 1 spade, it will bid 5 spade after me. Having great card from own suit but will bid for another that it doesn't have any card top 10. Will not allow me to double the opponents by placing much higher bid of a suit that it didn't have any card. And all these cases, losing the game. My partner will start the game with a suit that's only favorable for the opponents. My opponents on the other hand, always know what cards everyone has and bid that way. My partner also knows what card everyone has and will bid for suit that's just not logical in any ways. This game is making me frustrated every time I hope this will get better specially after any updates. But it remains the same.

Worst bidding system. There is not enough space to show the bad bids. Even I deselected all conventions, still uses some instead of using the Natural system as it should without conventions. And one more thing, score seems to be one step behind! As soon as I finish a hand, I can't see the correct score, it is shown the one after the previous hand.

  • Lost functionality / how to eliminate ads Nov 27, 2016

    By Chemflyer
This app has never been any good at bidding, but was a good way to practice the play of the hard. It was useful to compare my results with the computer play, and go back and review if I missed something. With the latest update, it no longer reports the computer play results. By the way there has always been a real simple solution to eliminating the ads. Just play in airplane mode, or even just make sure Wifi is off and cellular data is disabled for this ap in your settings. Without a network connection, the ads are not displayed.

I'm a beginning bridge player and this game is very helpful. I particularly like the feature for you to re-play a hand and also to get 'hints' from the app for strategy in playing a hand. After playing the game a few days I did purchase the no-ads version; for $6.50, which is less than a glass if wine.

  • Great game; Crashes Sometimes Aug 19, 2020

I thoroughly enjoy this game and the way it supports learning. For instance, you have the opportunity to rebid and play a hand over. It also provides information on the meaning of a bid and let’s you choose card and suit order. But in the midst of the joy, it freezes, always starting a new hand. Very frustrating. That I delete and immediately reload the game is a measure of how very good the game is!

Very nice game. I enjoy the opportunity to play against others and test my skills. The only negative I can say is I wish there was more of an explanation of what bidding conventions they use. Sometimes I make a bid expecting a return because I know we should be higher and my partners passes. Sometimes the computer gives a cue bid and I didn't understand. Overall though very fun!!

Very good app for learners and more experienced players alike. Allows you to play the hand as either declarer or dummy. Only two complaints: (1) Stayman convention with only 0-5 points? This should never be used with so little strength, and pushes declarer into a 2-level contract which usually goes down, (2) the program doesn't seem to understand the principle of unblocking in partner's suit, especially in NT, resulting in partner sometimes unable to gain entry to run his suit.

Most annoying issue: Update to version 5.11 has caused game play to slow down over time - yuck!!! Overall this is a good app, but I can't give even 4 stars because its not clear to me how North bids. Eg, sometimes repeatedly escalates bidding when any sane person would pass. Also passes if I respond to its suited opener with a same suit jump, instead of looking for game. If this were fixed the app would be great (excellent I would reserve for being able to choose which conventions it will use)

I really like this app. Unfortunately, the new tournament feature requires you to sit through ads or buy tickets to play, which is fine. However, you can spend your tickets on a tournament and if nobody else ever joins and completes the tournament your tickets are not refunded.

Really? I am an intermediate player but even I can bid better than the ? cues suggest in this game. The app is useful as long as you don't pay attention to the help prompt. Also, many of the hands have 2 to 6 points as defender with no chance of setting the underbid opponent. The best thing to do is replay any hand that you are unsure of and try a new strategy. One very good thing...you can replay from any point in the hand. That is most helpful. Also, there is an auto play to finish out obvious hands.

I have bought the paid version which was supposed to eliminate the ads but everyday the ads are back. I have reinstalled the paid app numerous times. No joy. I could enjoy the game if not for the ads. I play this all the time and sometimes question the play and chalk it up to my error or just the way the program works. However, this morning the West trumped spades on 3 occasions - and then on the last trick, West lead spades!! This time I reviewed the play of the cards and confirmed what I had just seen. It kind of kills my enthusiasm for playing further.....

I think it is important to understand that playing against computers can never replicate a human game. It does though emphasise the importance of paying full attention as the computer will never overlook a master. I do agree with others that some of the responses are bizarre and often jump bid or bid high without the supporting winners. I am also suspicious when third player plays a winning low card without possibly knowing what the last player may hold.

The robots or whoever the opponents are keep stealing tricks away from player when legally should go to player. Also the partners(robots I presume) never bid right. They don’t open when they should, they bid suits that they don’t have and then bid a rediculous six when neither partner has the possibility of making it. It’s also rare that the opposing team loses the bid or the ability of making it with overtricks. I enjoy playing bridge and like practicing on line, but you need to fix these bugs for your app to be enjoyable.

Like the game but getting annoyed with the repeated questions you want access to my email, contacts, system and the list goes on. This is unnecessary and you don't need access to any of my private details. Stop popping up with this! Have complained about the need to access my personal details and still comes up. What is with this rubbish? I have altered my score based on these updates.
